I keep seeing so many parallels with Liam Payne and Chester Bennington.

For YEARS people were making fun of Linkin Park for being "too angsty", and too sad. They always tore down the band for "selling out" because they didn't wanna keep making Hybrid Theory for 20 years, and actually chose to evolve their sound instead of just sticking with the same tired formula.

But then, suddenly, Chester died. No, wait, lemme rephrase that: He KILLED HIMSELF. After months of people trashing the band for "going pop" following years of people accusing the band of being sellouts every time they dropped an album, after his best friend OD'd two months before, and after spending 17 years crying out for help. Now that he's dead, everyone acts like they always loved Linkin Park. They're so shocked about his death, as if he hadn't been dealing with this since the 90s. Now they wanna act like they loved him all along.

Liam Payne was being made fun of even before 1D split up. But when his solo career flopped everyone made him a punching bag. Anytime he talked about 1D they called him desperate for money, or made fun of him calling him a has-been. Both Chester and Liam had dealt with drug and alcohol problems at the same age, although Liam was famous at that age and Chester wasn't. But their problems were worsened by fame. But now that Liam's dead people are acting like they weren't constantly laughing at him, or trashing him, or wanting to exclude him from 1D reunions.

I'm so sick of how fake people can act. They didn't care about Liam and Chester while they were alive, but now they wanna act like they're so sad, like they ever cared about him.
