when you're angry, all your defenses go up. the unfortunate person or thing that managed to piss you off is suddenly talking to a wall. On the inside, you're screaming and crying and cussing them out, but somehow you can't express it. you're blank. emotionless. to anyone's knowledge, you could be zoning out of a lecture. because of this, it's hard to express how you're feeling when the person asks for your thoughts. you've choked your feelings down, and they won't come back up.

We know about the Cruel Intentions verse, but what about your other AUs; do Clarke and Lexa have jealous streaks? God knows they'd both step down if they thought their partners were legitimately interested/in love with someone (bc they Be Like That) at least in the early stages, but what about some random who can't or won't catch a hint at a bar, or an old ex?

CoA Clarke has a jealous streak. She's is a big ol fat hypocrite because despite that whole "i don't do jealousy" spiel she gave Lexa in the beginning, she 100% gets jealous in some cases. It's not very often but every once in awhile someone will come on a little too strong and Clarke will get very *clutches Lexa to her chest* "Mine😠". But it is rare.

MBFW Clarke is hotheadedly jealous. She's mastered the art of 'conceal don't feel' but whew yeah, she feels it. Has felt it every day since they broke up. May have always become a tiny bit more surly whenever around anyone Lexa was seeing. Definitely did underhanded shit to prove to them that she took first slot in Lexa's life. And between having to stomach watching Lexa and her sort-of girlfriend (i.e. a very straight Anya being a fucking dumbass) and the stripper (again, thanks Anya) at her bachelorette party practically grinding a hole through Lexa's pants with her ass, she finally hits her threshold and kind of goes off like a bottle rocket 😬. Years of pent up jealousy and hurt and sexual tension spill out in their confrontation

Demon Clarke gets jealous but it's stupid because Lexa literally only has eyes for her. And she knows that, she does, but also Lexa is very attractive and very full of herself. But ya know, it's fine because when she gets jealous she gets handsy and Lexa has a very fun time proving to Clarke that she's it for her. Often several times in one night

Professor Lexa also has a jealous streak but it's... fairly harmless. It's what actually helps her pull the trigger on acting on her feelings so🤷‍♀️

Vamp Lexa is terribly jealous but really I don't think she can be blamed for that. She was a secret lover to Clarke for years and was forced to watch Clarke be paraded about with suitors and potential husbands. Then for over a century she's forced to play the part of Clarke's sister-in-law, having to keep her distance when they go out at night to hunt while watching men and increasingly women try and woo Clarke (while also fending off her own multitude of amorous advances). By the time the world changes enough that they can be the wives that they are in the eyes of those around them, it's just a thing. A thing of Lexa instinctively going all grrr on people who look at Clarke too long

CoA Lexa is only jealous of certain people. Like Bellamy initially, although that fades over time and just turns to standard loathing. Or when they run into Nilyah one day. She remembers the intimacy they once shared and it's hard because it brings up a lot of old feelings and insecurities. It's that sick to your stomach type feeling because she remembers watching them and how intimate they were, doing things that Lexa now shares with Clarke. And then she thinks about how they only broke up because Nilyah had to move for awhile. Then that gets her spiraling into thinking about whether they'd have stayed together if that hadn't happened. Would Clarke have married Nilyah? Would it be Nilyah sleeping on Lexa's side of the bed stealing her goodnight kisses? Would they have been as happy as they are? Would Clarke have been happier with a simple human, without all the craziness that Lexa had brought into her life? And also why- why did Clarke hug her so long when she saw her like what was that that felt way too long also a handshake would've definitely sufficed aaaand yeah she's lost the plot by the end
