Sonic High School AU (#14) - Where’s Sonic?

Amy: Hey Knuckles, have you seen Sonic?

Knuckles: Oh, hey Amy... wasn’t he hanging out with you?

Amy: Well... no.

Knuckles: That’s a puzzle...

Tails: *flying from the distance* Hiiiiiiii Amyyyyy! *lands* Hey Knuckles, what’s up?

Amy: Tails, have you seen Sonic today?

Tails: Well... last time I saw him, he said he had to pick you up after class... but then he looked at his phone and ran off. He said ‘something more important’ happened, why you ask?

Amy: What?

Knuckles: Tails!

Tails: Huh? Is there something wrong?

Knuckles: You were quite rude with your choice of words, boy! Look!

Amy: Oh. It’s fine. No need for him to tell me about it. *looking away* It’s okay, not even a text or anything. *slight pause* Yep, totally fine, just leave good ol’ Amy hanging after class. Nothing wrong with that. *another pause* Tell me, Tails... where’d he go?

Tails: Uhh... I don’t actually know. He didn’t tell me where he was headed, but I think he ran back to the main building.

Knuckles: I’ll help you find him, Amy.

Amy: Thanks, Knuckles. You tagging along, Tails?

Tails: S-sure!

*A little bit later*

Amy: So, any news of Sonic?

Tails: Uhh I’m sorry, Amy, didn’t find anything upstairs.

Amy: Yeah, I had no luck looking in the buffet. It’s closed actually.

Knuckles: Wait, you hear that? Hush!

*Muffed voices can be hear echoing from a classroom down the empty corridor*

???: Stop with the excuses already! Do you think I’m stupid? That I didn’t notice? *Muffled talk*

Amy: Is that...?

Knuckles: Shh, let’s get closer.

*More muffled talking can be heard coming from the same classroom*

Knuckles: Alright, keep quiet and stay out of view.

Robotnik: Look, I know you copied her work, and what a lame work you did! SERIOUSLY, weren’t you paying attention or something? I’ve seen how you look at Amy...

Sonic: And what does her have to do with all of this?

Robotnik: You still don’t admit to it! *sigh* I know how kids like you roll, you’re just like that other pesky guy, Shadow. You guys are leeches, leeching off the good students’ work while you do nothing but look cool in the mirror and crack silly jokes at my expense. I’m already getting sick of you!

Sonic: Yeah, whatever.

Robotnik: Silence! Let this be a warning: I’ll keep a close eye on you, boy. You won’t cheat so easily on my class anymore. Should I catch you once again, you’ll regret it. NOW SCRAM!

Sonic: *disgusted groan*

Knuckles: He’s coming, back up, back up!

Amy: Ah! Wait, you’re pushing me! *falls*

Sonic: Huh, what are you guys doing here? And is that... Amy? *Reaching towards her* You okay?

Amy: Hmph! Don’t touch me.

Sonic: Huh? Oh... that whole ‘I’ll pick you after class, Amy’, right?

Amy: *arms crossed* Take a guess.

Sonic: *sigh* Look Amy, Ames, I’m sorry. I didn’t want anyone to know that I had to be here... dealing with this... rather embarassing stuff, y’know. Also, I was just going to look for you after this! I saw somebody you might know inside there...

Amy: Ah?

Sonic: Shh, listen.

Robotnik: NOW GET OUT OF HERE BEFORE I SCHOOL YOU. *sigh* Okay... one more kid and I’ll be finally out of this hole and on my way to enjoy the weekend... 

Tails: *shoved by the leaving student trying to close the door* Hey, careful buddy!

Robotnik: *grabs some sheets of paper under his desk* Cream the Rabbit. Your turn.
