FRIDAY FLASHBACK: “Could it be Forever” by Chris Pick. Even though Daryl Hall recently shared this track on his Twitter account (thanks Darryl!), The Wayback Machine goes back 20 years with this one. I was wrapping up producing and playing on a John Lennon tribute album* for Chris Pick, a singer-songwriter based in Williamsport PA. Most of the music we’d done had an intentional Beatles-Lennon flair. Then Chris pulled out a surprise—this romantic ballad about eternal love. Stylistically it went into a Philly Soul vibe more to do with Hall & Oates than The Fab Four. There was something ethereal and absorbing about this track. Of all the recordings I’ve played keyboards on, this is has one of my favorite piano solos.

*THANK YOU FOR THE MUSIC—just re-released on Chris’s bandcamp site.

Text
From The Lennon Bermuda Book
“One of the first Bermudians to discover that Lennon was on the island was estate agent Donna Bennett – although all she knew for sure was that the visitor was someone particularly important and his name was John Greene. The request was not
hing unusual. Bennett was used to dealing with high-flying clientele, rich and famous individuals who often requested a degree of anonymity.” – An excerpt from the Lennon Bermuda Book available now at www.doublefantasybermuda.com/shop.
