Shire Leasing - History & Overview

Since 1990, Shire Leasing have been an innovative and agile company working with manufacturers, resellers and distributors to deliver flexible funding solutions. We provide a full range of tailored asset finance solutions to help British businesses capitalise on growth opportunities.

In 2001, Shire Leasing were the first leasing company to introduce automated underwriting, previously only used by banks. In 2009, the company launched their online programme management tool Leaseman Online. This is revamped in 2015 and rebranded to Shire Online. In 2015, the company launched Click2Finance; an online payment option that can be integrated with ecommerce content management systems which retailers can use to give their customers the option to buy products on lease.

Since 2015, Shire Leasing has been financially supported by and in partnership with the government-owned British Business Bank. In 2017, the British Business Bank agreed a new £37.4million ENABLE Funding facility with Shire Leasing designed to boost the uptake of asset finance for small businesses.

In recent years, Shire Leasing has accrued a number of awards. These include being named as Independent Lessor of the Year at the 2016 Leasing World Awards, Top Hybrid Funder of the Year at the 2017 Leasing World Awards and shortlisted for Alternative Finance Provider of the Year at the British Small Business Awards 2017.
