Latin Help?

So while I was trying to think of ways to use up the million fifty (read: twenty four) bottles I wound up with because of my potions making habit hobby, I hit upon the idea of doing "time in a bottle" because I'm a dork and Jim Croce is awesome. Then it occurred to me that, hey! It would be cool if I did it in Latin! All magic-y and stuff. The only problem?

I don't speak Latin. I've never studied Latin. I am a Latin dunce.

But hey, we live in the Google age, so I asked Google how to say it and Google said: tempus in utrem.

Scrolling down it also told me several other words for bottle.

Trusting soul that I am not, I picked up my phone and texted my oldest friend who was a member of the Junior Latin Association for years. I told her what Google said and asked if it was okay. She responded that it was more 'urn' than 'bottle', but otherwise yeah. I asked what would be a better 'bottle'...

...and got no reply. For a month. Because I love her, but correspondence has never, ever been her strong point.

I was pondering this conundrum and realized HEY! Tumblr has POLLS! I might actually be able to put this puzzle in front of a more communicative Latin speaker! So I ask you:

Latest news from my country: we’re now under a curfew. I’m not arguing, things need to be done to keep people safe (especially the most vulnerable ones). This doesn’t mean of course I am particularly enjoying it. So, in order to regain focus on the positive, let’s get back to our blogging affairs! Today’s spotlight is on a couple more goodies from Nature’s Design (Alladin Golden set reviewed here).

Some of the details here will be repeated. After all, their products are all environmentally-friendly, carefully designed, and keep sacred geometry in mind. In this case, the Lagoena bottle to go is the best example even at first sight. This hand made 0.5 litre portable bottle is made of lead-free glass (suitable up to 70°C / 158° F). It is beautiful, with a tightly-sealing wooden lid and a precisely fitted shell of natural cork which protects the bottle against shocks. This is also a great tactile addition, as this non-slip covering feels wonderful in the hand. Of course, it can be removed for cleaning. But there is more. As with the set I previously reviewed, the flower of life is present. This time is is white, and while it can’t be seen from the outside while the cork is on, it’s a meaningful addition.

Is there also a flower of life in the Cadus pitcher? Well, while you can definitely get your hands on one with it, in this particular case gemstones step in. This lead-free 1 litre pitcher is not only beautiful, but also exquisitely mouth blown with the golden ratio in mind. On its base, you can find a compartment made of an inwards gap where stones (clear quartz, rose quartz and amethyst) are placed. It closes with a wooden and rubber cap. The stones come in a separate bag and there are more than needed, just in case. Water has a magnifying effect on the stones that emphasizes their beauty. The pitcher also includes a glass lid for its top, which follows the curvaceous design. It looks absolutely fantastic!

Just as the Alladin Golden set, these pieces have taken an important place at home (and beyond). While the Lagoena bottle travels in my work bag, the Cadus pitcher stays in my bedside table (next to the chosen deck for that specific night reading). As I’ve said at other times, there is peace in ritual, and the goodies by Nature’s Design fit perfectly in mine.
