I have hope of getting some Genos backstory in the manga when we reach his arc, considering how they decided to expand Saitama's and Tatsumaki's

We saw how Blast rescued baby Tatsumaki, helped form her world view, and how she escaped the facility back to protect her sister, including how much that path has impacted her (and her relationship with others) up til now.

So if anything, I'm really hoping we see more of young Genos - whether before or during his village's attack to show us how he first met Kuseno. As there's a lot of missing information we haven't seen filled out yet! So if the manga's been expanding the backstories for many other characters, then yes, there's a good chance Genos will get his fair share (in the spotlight) in time too!
