Sarumi Gakuen K when Fushimi give his first button of his gakuran shirt to Yata when they graduate
It should be second, shouldn’t it? That’s the one for romantic love. Imagine Fushimi and Yata are getting ready to graduate and they’ve of course had the usual relationship ups and downs, they were enemies for a while but now they’re back to being friends. Fushimi hasn’t confessed his real feelings to Yata though, assuming that there’s no way Yata would ever return his feelings after everything Fushimi’s put him through. They’re hanging out in Yata’s dorm a few days before graduation playing video games and Yata’s talking about how cool it is that they’re gonna be graduating soon, Fushimi smirks and says it’s amazing idiot Misaki passed. Yata’s all shut up and then he grumbles that just because Fushimi got into a fancy university. Fushimi shrugs and languidly says he doesn’t really care about university, Yata’s like no no you have to care and become someone even more amazing. Yata’s starting an apprenticeship after high school, it’s not too far from Fushimi’s university though so he hopes they can still see each other. Fushimi is fiddling with the buttons of his uniform as he makes a small noise of agreement, looking dissatisfied. He says he has to go back to his own dorm and as he gets up the second button falls off his uniform. Yata picks it up and is like wait this fell off, let me sew it back on for you. Fushimi looks at Yata for a long time and then tells Yata to ‘keep it.’
Yata thinks that’s weird and he just pockets the button, figuring Saruhiko is being weird right now and he’ll want this later. Fushimi continues to seem oddly distant for the next few days and even at graduation, Yata’s looking for him because he wants to like take pictures together. He runs into some of his friends from Homra and everyone’s congratulating him, Yata’s really proud of himself when even his former upperclassman Mikoto shows up to tell him good job. Yata asks by the way have you guys seen Saruhiko and one of the Homra guys is like oh yeah wasn’t Fushimi missing his second button on his uniform. Yata doesn’t get why that’s a big deal and he’s like oh yeah I have it here in my pocket. Immediately they’re all just staring at him and Yata’s like what. Kamamoto nervously leans in and quietly lets Yata know what giving the button means, Yata’s like wait no this isn’t that it just fell off…and Saruhiko told me to keep it. Everyone is still giving him a look as it slowly dawns on Yata what just happened here.
He says a quick goodbye to everyone and then goes running to find Fushimi. Fushimi’s already trying to sneak off campus (he’s trying to avoid his doting senpai Munakata who showed up with congratulation flowers). Yata practically tackles him to the ground as he’s like you dumbass why didn’t you just say something. Fushimi has no idea what Yata’s talking about and Yata’s face is all red as he mumbles that how was he supposed to know things if Fushimi doesn’t say them, he knows Yata isn’t very good at romance stuff. Fushimi tries to shrug him off like Yata’s just talking nonsense but Yata presses a fist to Fushimi’s chest, button clasped in his hand as he’s like I know what this means. Fushimi scoffs that Yata has no idea and Yata coughs as he’s like if—if you’re gonna confess then do it properly you idiot, or no one will understand. Fushimi coldly says Yata wouldn't have understood either way and Yata snaps that Fushimi doesn’t know that. Suddenly Yata just pulls the second button off his own uniform and hands it to Fushimi like here, do you get it now dumbass.
#sarumi#Talking K#first button is self second is romantic feeling I think#though imagine Fushimi giving yata the first button#as like 'giving his self to Yata'#Fushimi can't say anything straight out so he gives Yata a button#knowing Yata won't realize but he can't say it

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You opened the door to Kakucho's office more violently than you intended and rushed inside, holding the folder you were supposed to bring in your hand. “Sorry... I met Sanzu on the way....”
“It's okay, Y/n. I'm glad you brought Fuku with you. It was the right decision.” Kakucho said calmly and pointed to a pot of fresh tea that must have been brought by one of the girls in the hideout. “A cup of tea?”
“Yes, please.” Before you closed the door, you made sure no one was in the hall. You turned to the surprised men and cleared your throat. “Yata will have to stay.”
“But I can't. Akira…”
“Akira knows I took you somewhere.” You interrupted the young man, walked over to the desk and handed the folder over to its original owner.
“Oh shit… How does the boss know?” His face paled and his eyes widened.
“Sanzu told me.”
“And how did Sanzu know?” Kakucho became interested, putting aside the report he had just picked up.
“Akira recognized me and called Sanzu to complain to him that I took one of his men because…” You shot Miyata a quick glance. “Not a word to anyone, do you understand?”
“I-I understand, but... What is it?” The boy looked confused, and his eyes moved from you to Kakucho and back again.
“Akira thinks I took you to have fun with you.” You said, sitting down on the empty chair.
"To have fun with me? But how do you, boss, could have fun with me?”
Kakucho became slightly confused at your words before turning his head, a small smile appearing on his face. You watched him, lips pursed. You simply couldn't believe how a person who was around whores every day and worked directly for a pimp could not know what kind of fun he was talking about. After all, he asked if you came there because you wanted a prostitute.
You looked at him. “Are you serious now, Yata?”
The boy blinked several times and suddenly his face turned red. “The boss doesn't seem to mean…” His voice wasn't clear, but he seemed to be starting to realize what his employer had accused you of. “Boss! But, oh no!”
“Akira suggested it, not me. Sorry, kid, but it looks like your boss thinks you like to fuck for money..." You shrugged and Kakucho let out a laugh that he couldn't hold back anymore. “I don't care, because it doesn't make much difference to me whether my sexual partner has a cunt or a dick... But you, Yata, I think you're already burned.”
“Boss, you can't do that! Boss Kakucho, please say something in my defense!” The young man's voice was shaking with emotion, and the first tears appeared in his eyes. “I'm not like that!”
Kakucho shook his head and took a few deep breaths to calm down. His cheeks were slightly flushed, which showed that despite the ridicule of the situation and so many years of using the services of prostitutes, the topic of sex is an area that he considers something serious.
“Don't worry, Yata.” He said, still amused. “Y/n won't get your ass.”
“Boss promises? Boss L/n?” The boy looked at you worried.
“You're pretty, Miyata, but not my type.” You assured him and reached for the cup of tea prepared for you. "Don't worry. I will pay triple for your service, just like Sanzu told Akira...” You looked at Kakucho with a serious face. “Which, on the one hand, will give us an alibi…” You moved your gaze to the hot drink that smelled tempting. “But then Akira will expect the same from you as from the girls…”
“I will absolutely give him back to Akira.” Number three spoke. “I'll arrange it so that Akira gets more money for Miyata, but we will put the boy to work for Shion.”
“Huh? Um, Boss Kakucho? Boss L/n?” The boy looked even more confused.
You nodded, ignoring Fuku squirming in his chair. “It's a thought, but why Madarame?”
“He wants a few girls in the club, so he's looking for someone to watch over them.” He glanced at the black-haired boy. “Not in the form of a bodyguard, of course. Yata has almost no muscles, but as a companion. Akira’s bitches praise him.”
“Do you want to make him a mascot?” You asked, taking a small sip of your tea. It was delicious as usual.
“Yata is already a mascot.” Kakucho looked at the flustered one. "What do you think? You tell us everything you know and we will get you a quiet job with Madarame.”
“Boss Kakucho, Boss L/n! This is the most wonderful thing that happened to me! Yes! Everything except working for Akira..." The young man said quickly, his eyes sparkling with joy.
“So, you will commit treason to improve your living conditions?” You laughed softly and Yata held his breath.
“Don't scare him, Y/n. This is not betrayal. This is the right decision, Miyata.” Kakucho calmed him down and returned to the reports he had on his desk. “Let's start over, shall we? At lunchtime, Mochi will provide us with his folder and we can all compare our observations together. From what I know, he has tracked down two other pimps who are in cahoots with Kudora.”
You shrugged and used small tongs to hand Yata the cookie. “Welcome aboard, kid.”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You listened to what the black-haired youth had to say and felt an increasing dislike for Hachirou Kuroda. It seemed that Kitty was the only one who died because of the knowledge she had about her pimp's shady dealings. The rest of the girls - you still didn't know how many there really were - died because their clients indulged in way too much and it resulted in the poor women being no longer good for anything.
You understood that everyone had different sexual preferences, but burning and cutting the skin in various places on the body was too much. It was no longer sex, but the most ordinary torture in the world, which Akira should never have allowed.
Yata confessed that the pimp saw each of the girls who returned to him in a sorry state and instead of immediately reporting the problem with the customers, he preferred to take larger sums of money from them and kill the girls or simply ordered his men to do it.
The boy again admitted to disposing of the bodies of the three dead girls. He described their injuries because Akira was taking clothes and jewelry that belonged to prostitutes. He ordered them to be taken to the forests and before they were covered with earth, they had to be poured with various flammable substances and set on fire. The same substances could never have been used, otherwise if the police discovered the remains, they could easily link them.
Usually, you weren't moved by such confessions, because you yourself had desecrated corpses many times, but... One description was too extreme for you. Even Mochi had to reach for the whiskey, and you've never seen such murderous intent in Kakucho's eyes.
Yes, none of you were saints. You have done many bad things, even very bad things. Hanma once took a debtor's daughter and gave her to a brothel so that she could work off her father's debt but had good living conditions. You also knew about families murdered on order, including children, but... Forcing a pregnant girl into prostitution because you found a client who wished so... And then allowing a situation in which the girl was hanging by her hands from the ceiling for several days, only to end up in a dug hole in the forest...
You wanted to skin Akira and rub salt into his wounds. You were sure Sanzu would happily join in.
“Son of a bitch… Just a son of a bitch.” Mochi growled after your second glass of liquor, and you wished you had drunk the alcohol yourself. “I thought the two I found were fuckers, but no. L/n must have found a better one.”
“Kakucho came across him.” You corrected your friend, but he waved it off. “Do we need evidence or will the testimony of Yata and the whores be enough?”
“Who is Akira's clientele?” Kakucho asked, frowning.
“Various guys and probably even two women... But all in all, they all had a lot of money.” The young man replied and Kakucho cursed fiercely.
“So it's a serious matter. We cannot afford to lose such funding sources.”
"So? What we do?" You asked quietly, looking towards the window where dark, rainy clouds were gathering. “Do we investigate the remaining pimps more thoroughly or report what we already have to Kisaki and Hanma?”
“I want Mikey to know everything first.” Kakucho said after a while. “He may not be interested in Sato, but I don't think he'd ignore such shenanigans.”
“Let's check the ones I mentioned and then we'll turn over the combined files to Mikey.” Mochi lit a cigarette. He inhaled deeply and exhaled, looking around for an ashtray. “I don't give a damn whether he's interested in these whores or not. He can't let these bastards do this. If the police find out about it, everyone will pay for it. The whole business will go to hell.”
“Mochi is right.” You spread your hands and crossed your legs. “Our beloved leader must express his opinion on this matter.”
“Okay, we'll do that. I'll have to mention this to Sanzu too. Still, he's number two." Kakucho nodded and started organizing his reports. “That everything had to get so fucked up. Kuroda was one of the most trusted pimps.”
You looked out of the corner of your eye at Yata, who was sitting in silence, eating cookies that were lying on a tray with cold, forgotten by everyone tea in a pot.
“Eat normally.” You said quietly and the boy looked down at his pants, which were covered in cookie crumbs.
“Sorry, boss…” He said and started collecting crumbs on a plate.
Madarame will wipe the floor with him. - You thought and your mood improved slightly.
“Yata, do you know who is the best person to talk to from Nagasawa and Nagano?” Mochi suddenly asked, turning towards the boy. “They have someone like you?”
“Huh? Someone like me?” He thought for a moment and involuntarily dropped the crumbs he had managed to pick up from his pants onto the carpet. "Let me think... I know Nagasawa had a girlfriend whom he didn't allow to have sex with his clients... But he didn't hide his business from her... And Nagano... Nagano..." He scratched his head and shrugged... “Sorry, Boss Mochi, but Nagano has a man everyone calls Yuu, but I have no idea who he is. I've never seen the guy in person."
“Okay, what about this girl?”
Yata smiled brightly, his tone strangely soft. “Junko Yoshioka.”
You raised one eyebrow and started looking at the boy. “You, kid. Are you sure he didn't let her shag his clients?”
“I wasn't a customer.” He replied to you with a wide smile and froze, his expression immediately dropping and his face turning red. “Sorry, boss…”
“I have no further questions, thank you.” You clicked your tongue, reaching for the last cookie on the plate and popping the whole one into your mouth, biting it thoughtfully.
There was silence in the room for a moment, everyone was busy thinking about what steps to take in this matter. Thanks to Kakucho and Mochi... and Yata, you almost solved the whole case of the prostitute murders. But you had a strange feeling that...
“I'll take care of Yoshioka and let L/n find this Yuu guy.” Mochi said and Kakucho nodded, completely agreeing with him.
That's right, you knew it would be like this. Find a guy that neither of you have seen in person and don't know the real personal details.
“Thank you, Mochi.” You muttered softly, looking away from the man.
“Something wrong?” The other asked, looking at you from the corner of his eye.
"No no. Of course not." You denied, then an idea popped into your head and you looked at him. “Maybe the rest know something more about this Yuu?”
“Like who?”
“Haitanis? Ran likes to use the services of girls and does it more often than Rindou.” You suggested, playing with your tie. “Maybe even Sanzu heard something…”
“Aren't you the one who gets him whores?” Mochi asked as he poured himself another glass of whiskey.
You pursed your lips, staring at Kakucho's desk. “Yes, I usually get him girls. But Sanzu is a big boy, and I don't live with him, so when he feels like it, he calls for services himself.”
“I'm just asking.” Mochi shrugged. “You can try, but I don't know what time they will return from their trip. That damn Sato is pretty bummed out somewhere.”
“Maybe Takeomi will know something. He used to sleep with girls from Nagano.” He mentioned Kakucho and looked at the folder you had brought earlier. “I'll give it back to you so that if anything happens, Kisaki won't bother you.”
You nodded, took the paper folder from him and stood up from the chair. “I think we can call it a day. Each of us has a task, so... Let's do what needs to be done and get this over with."
"Right." Mochi drained his glass and after saying goodbye to all of you, he left the room.
“Come on, Miyata.” Kakucho said as he stood up from behind his desk. “I will take you to your new room and give the girls some instructions regarding your hospitality.”
The young man quickly got up from his chair and you both followed Kakucho into the corridor. “Good luck, Y/n.” He smiled slightly at you and walked away down the hall towards the guest rooms.
“See you later, Boss L/n!” Yata waved at you and quickly followed the retreating man.
“Fuck…” You cursed as you headed back to your bedroom. “How will I find this guy?”
You turned the key in your door, went inside and walked to the desk, onto which you lightly threw the folder with the completed reports. You took off your jacket, untied your tie and unbuttoned the top two buttons of your shirt.
You looked at your watch and it took you a moment to realize that you hadn't heard from Sanzu for eight hours. Nothing special, but you only had such a long break in contact when each of you was sleeping in your own beds... Still, you didn't feel anxious. He wasn't completely alone after all, and you were able to get some rest.
You lit a cigarette and walked to the window. You looked up at the sky and were relieved to see that the clouds had not thickened. Maybe it won't rain after all.
You liked the rain, but you didn't like hearing the complaints of a soaked Sanzu. You laughed quietly, after all, there was no certainty that you would see each other again today. Maybe neither of you will have the time or even the strength for it...
You took a long drag on your cigarette and flicked the ash into the ashtray. You had at least four people you could try asking about that damn Yuu, and you hoped that one of them knew something about this guy. At least one piece of information... Maybe it will be easier to find him.
Sure, you could always stalk Nagano, but you wouldn't know which of his assholes was Yuu.
Out of the corner of your eye, you saw movement on the garden path and looked in that direction, seeing a petite woman accompanied by a tall man with dark hair slicked back.
“Look at this.” You smiled to yourself as you watched Rosie and Takeomi. From a distance, you could see that they were having a calm conversation and clearly enjoying each other's company. Then the thought popped into your head that maybe Rosie knew Yuu or one of the girls who were currently in the hideout. Rosie was like a brothel mom to them here. "It is worth a try."
You stubbed out your cigarette and barely made it back inside when someone knocked on your door. You stopped dead in the middle of your bedroom. "Who's there?"
“It's me, Miki... Yata-chan would like to talk to you again.” One of the prostitutes answered you and you went to the door to open it.
Yata-chan?
You looked surprised at the slim girl who was pulling the hand of Miyata, who was hiding behind the door frame. “He's a bit shy, isn't he?”
"A bit." You looked at the boy who kept looking over his shoulder down the hall. “Come in. Thanks, Miki. Come back for him in half an hour.”
The girl smiled even wider at you and, pushing the boy into your bedroom, she began to walk away almost with a dance step - just like usual.
You closed the door and looked at Yata, frowning. "What's up?"
"I'm sorry, boss, when we were walking here, I thought I saw Hanma... I don't want to run into him..." The black-haired man said quietly and rubbed his arm nervously.
"I see. What else did you want to talk about?”
“In Boss Kakucho's office, Boss Mochi mentioned Sato's name…” He swallowed and squeezed his forearm. “I shouldn't eavesdrop... But... Maybe it's about Mr. Sato from Hot Cherry?”
You winced at the mention of the old nightclub name, but confirmed. “How do you know about him? Have you been to this club?”
“I was there once with Akira... He sold one of the girls to him.” He shrugged and then added more quietly. “I don't like that bitch... Mina would sell her own mother if she had the chance.”
You raised an eyebrow at the mention of the girl and decided not to tell the boy what happened to her. So, Sato and Akira were... or still are, in business together. You will need to pass this information on to Haitanis and Sanzu.
“I have some information for you, Yata.” The boy looked at you interested. “You will be at this club more often. It is already ours and has been handed over to Madarame, with whom you will work.”
"Seriously?! Oh, Boss L/n!” Miyata's hands shot towards you, but he pulled them back at the last moment. "It's wonderful! The club was nice, but the name and owner sucked.”
You walked over to the desk and reached for a pack of cigarettes. You still had a few minutes before Miki would come back for the boy. "You smoke?"
“No, boss. Smoking harms your health."
“Fucking prostitutes doesn't guarantee health either.”
“I'm using protection…” The man muttered, blushing slightly.
You looked at him and shook your head, sighing slightly. “Where did you come from, Miyata, huh?”
The other shrugged, turning even redder. “I know I'm a shitty gangster... But I grew up in a poor neighborhood and I don't know anything else.”
“Can you fight?”
"I can." Yata smiled and lifted his shirt slightly, showing you his slightly muscled stomach, with two long scars on it. “I even got stabbed twice.”
You nodded in approval, thinking that maybe Fuku Miyata wasn't so bad after all. Everyone cries sometimes, but... He wasn't crying for no reason, he was just afraid for his life, and you didn't necessarily assure him that he was in no danger.
He lowered his shirt and looked slightly confused again. Suddenly he bowed deeply and said in a serious tone. “Thank you, Boss L/n. For taking me away from Akira and giving me a second chance.”
You looked at him slightly surprised and shook your head, a soft smile appearing on your lips. “The decision wasn't just mine. You don't seem bad, and you made the right decision. You deserve another chance.”
There was a soft knock on the door and the boy straightened up. “I guess that's my guard.” He joked and Miki opened the door. A smile appeared on her lips again.
"You can go." You patted the young man on the shoulder and the girl grabbed his wrist, pulling him into the hallway.
“Come, come, Yata-chan. Let Mr. L/n work.” She laughed and you were left alone.
You closed the door behind them and returned to your small desk, where you sat down. You leaned back in your chair and looked at the ceiling. I wonder if Sanzu knows about Sato and Akira's connection.
You heard single, gentle knocks on the glass and looked out the window. It looked like Sanzu was going to get a little wet after all.

How do you think would gi a demon!Yata x priest!Fushimi situationship/relationship?
Fushimi's probably a terrible priest so I imagine he wouldn't worry much about having a relationship with a demon XD Though maybe in this case he becomes irritated when Yata eventually interacts with other demons and convinces himself that Yata never really cared about him and was always just trying to corrupt him anyway. Say Fushimi like 'inherits' a chapel more or less, like Niki was the literal worst priest ever and had very strong spiritual powers that Fushimi also inherited. When Niki dies Fushimi is stuck taking over his chapel though I imagine there aren't a lot of worshipers around, Niki scared most of them off. People still come by if they want things from him though, like exorcisms and handling demons that appear and cause trouble. Fushimi finds it irritating, like none of you will ever show your faces again but if you need something you'll come to me.
Maybe Fushimi runs into Yata not when he's being called to do an exorcism but when he's on his way back to the chapel. He finds someone injured in the road who reaches out for him, Fushimi has no interest in helping but the person won't stop clinging to him. When he bends down to check on them he realizes this 'person' is a demon and just laughs coldly, like what an idiot demon to ask a priest for help. He leaves the demon some food and bandages though and then takes his leave. Later he's dealing with a particularly difficult demon and ends up injured himself, he thinks this is finally it for him but then the demon he saved before jumps in and saves him in turn. Fushimi can't believe this moron really just saved a priest, demon!Yata just grins at him though and says they're even now right. Fushimi ends up fainting from his wounds before he can respond and wakes up near his chapel, with Yata hovering worriedly over him having bandaged his wounds. Yata says he wasn't sure if he could go into the church but he brought Fushimi here and says Fushimi has someone who can keep an eye on him right, Fushimi clicks his tongue like why would I have something like that.
He assumes Yata will leave him alone now, since clearly a demon can't be spending time with a priest, but Yata ends up constantly hovering near the church to keep an eye on him. Yata says it's because Fushimi saved him first but he says that anyway Fushimi's way more amazing than any other priest he's ever met and it seems like someone needs to keep an eye on him. Slowly Yata manages to work his way into Fushimi's heart and they become closer, Fushimi knows that he shouldn't trust demons but Yata's such an idiot Fushimi can't believe that Yata could ever be someone he needs to worry about. But then eventually other priests find out that Fushimi's keeping a demon at his side and he's under suspicion from that end, while Yata starts being targeted by other demons who can't believe he's become close with a priest. Fushimi's initial response is who cares about other people, as long as he has Yata by his side he's fine – but then Yata meets this super powerful demon named Suoh Mikoto and starts talking all the time about how cool Mikoto is and Fushimi should come meet him too, and Fushimi bitterly wonders if this was how things were going to turn out all along.
#sarumi#Talking K#imagine Yata has like wings and a tail and sharp nails#he knows that he shouldn't be around priests but Saruhiko isn't like other priests he's amazing#Fushimi fighting other demons with Yata at his side#he calls Yata his pet just to get Yata pissed off bc it's funny#but he's actually falling in love

(1) Yata works as a rent-a-bf for money + to help rid of his awkwardness around girls. Fushimi's college bullies rents Yata for Fushimi as a prank. Fushimi explains this to Yata when he shows up but Yata refuses to leave when he sees how Fushimi is living and ends up helping out saying it's his job as a boyfriend. Fushimi starts renting out Yata after that saying it's to help him at home (but in reality he has a crush on Yata). One day he sees Yata on a day off with his friends and gets jealous.
Rent a boyfriend Yata really being like 'damn bitch you live like this' and refusing to leave until Fushimi learns basic life skills. Imagine Yata's working as a Rent a Boyfriend because he needs extra cash, maybe the Homra guys originally signed him up to work there as a joke like 'Yata can't handle girls, this will help him learn.' Yata's initially annoyed but he actually makes good money and he needs that so he keeps it up, a lot of girls think the whole 'blushing virgin' thing is cute. Yata's also occasionally been rented by guys, at first he thinks that's weird but he gets over it and soon he's pretty used to just doing his job no matter who it is (well, he still has trouble when girls rent him). One day he gets a job to spend time with a 'Fushimi Saruhiko' who happens to go to the same college as he does, Yata's in like a trade program and he doesn't know Fushimi, who's taking high level math and computer science courses. Yata's surprised that this nerd guy would want to rent a boyfriend but he figures hey, you never know right, so he goes over to Fushimi's place to do his job.
He knocks on the door and gets this irritated 'what?!' in response. Yata says he's the rental boyfriend and gets no reply. He knocks again, harder, and it turns out the door is unlocked and just swings open. Fushimi's sitting there glaring at him, probably surrounded by a pile of discarded potato chip bags and empty water bottles. Yata again says he's the rental boyfriend that Fushimi ordered, Fushimi clicks his tongue and says he didn't order anyone. Yata's all confused like no I have your name and address right here and finally Fushimi clicks his tongue again and says 'those idiots.' Yata's all huh and Fushimi curtly says that a bunch of morons who won't leave him alone presumably hired Yata as some kind of unfunny joke. He says Yata's already been paid so it's fine if Yata leaves, turning around and focusing back on his computer as he reaches for a Caloriemate. Yata's like 'well...okay...' but he finds himself just looking around and he wonders if Fushimi's room is always like this. Fushimi says it's no business of Yata's and Yata says he feels kinda weird just leaving and getting paid for doing nothing so he offers to help clean up the room. Fushimi shrugs all 'do what you want' and Yata rolls up his sleeves all okay let's do this.
Maybe the bullies rented Yata out for like a week so even though he knows it's a prank Yata keeps coming back to Fushimi's place. At first he's just cleaning but then maybe one day when he stops by Fushimi isn't feeling well. Fushimi's still trying to work on his computer even so and Yata ends up having to get him to go to bed, taking care of him and making him soup and all that. Yata also starts to realize that Fushimi isn't just a jerk like he assumed, like there's a lot more to Fushimi than he really expected. After this they start talking more when Yata comes over and when his week runs out Fushimi starts renting Yata all on his own, claiming he just needs someone to cook and clean but really he's enjoying his time with Yata and Yata's actually enjoying talking to him.
One day Fushimi's on his way to a rare class when he sees Yata crossing campus. Fushimi's never seen Yata outside of work and maybe didn't even notice that Yata went to his school. He finds himself going over to talk to Yata and that's when he hears Yata laughing. Fushimi freezes and sees Yata there surrounded by the Homra guys, they're all talking and laughing and having a good time. Seeing Yata's carefree look Fushimi feels this pang in his heart. He finds himself thinking about how Yata's only hanging out with him because Fushimi pays for him, the people Misaki is laughing with are people Yata wants to hang out with. He's about to walk by when Yata calls to him, waving him over. Fushimi grits his teeth, telling himself that there's no point in getting attached when Yata doesn't care about him at all. Fushimi decides it's about time he ends this anyway and he walks over to join Yata, taunting him and basically acting like a total jerk wondering why 'the help' wants to talk to him. Poor Yata's so confused because he didn't think Fushimi was like this, meanwhile Fushimi tells Yata not to bother to come over anymore because Fushimi says he can hire someone better if he wants a maid.
After this Fushimi thinks he's successfully cut Yata off, he won't have to worry about Misaki wanting to be friends anymore. The Homra guys ask Yata what's up with that guy though, Yata's been talking about how much he likes Fushimi and how amazing Fushimi is so it's weird that this guy is such a jerk. Yata claims that Fushimi's not really like that – well, okay he's kinda like that but not that bad, like sure normally Fushimi's sort of an asshole but he's not a bad guy. Yata wants to just accept that maybe he had Fushimi pegged wrong but he can't bring himself to do it, in truth he was starting to have real feelings for Fushimi and he doesn't want to just let Fushimi go, not when he was finally getting to understand the person Fushimi truly is.
#sarumi#Talking K#so now Yata tries to get Fushimi to hire him again#not realizing that this is why Fushimi's upset#bc he really wants Yata to be his actual bf#and thinks Yata only likes him bc it's his job#while Yata's sitting here like you know all that taking care of you wasn't actuallymy job#I did it because I like you

1/3) Homra are firefighters who use their abilities in their work: they can turn on the aura and enter a burning building, envelop a person on fire with aura and safely pull him out of the fire, they can control the spread of fire and extinguish it with the help of their abilities alone. Scepter 4 police officers that also use their abilities at work. The Sarumi used to be the best firefighter duo, but Fushimi left for Scepter 4.
Imagine AU where maybe everyone knows about King powers and they're kinda 'normalized' in the world, like everyone knows about Homra and their fire powers and that's why they work as firefighters. Their powers are uniquely suited to dealing with fires, they can protect civilians trapped inside burning houses while also shielding themselves, say the Red power even has some strength against smoke inhalation because it makes a kind of shield that just filters out the smoke and repels the fire using a much stronger fire. Yata and Fushimi join Homra after the two of them are saved from a fire by Homra, they were living together in this run-down apartment that wasn't built to code and the two of them ended up trapped inside their apartment expecting that they were going to die. Instead Mikoto bursts into the room and saves them both, afterward Yata was so amazed that he asks to become a firefighter too. Fushimi goes along with Yata but really he dislikes using the Red power and he isn't a fan of fire, beyond that maybe he has a lot of trouble firefighting anyway because his stamina isn't the greatest. He feels like Yata's too focused on Mikoto to realize that Fushimi's unhappy and eventually Fushimi decides to leave Homra and join the special police force S4 instead.
This drives a wedge between him and Yata, though the police and the firefighters don't cross paths often whenever they do Fushimi doesn't hesitate to remind Yata that Homra are just a bunch of worthless punks who are lucky they found a job that can make use of their only talent. Yata hates that Fushimi's acting like this now, he can't understand why his best friend left him this way and he's angry and frustrated and can't stop rising to the bait every time Fushimi taunts him. One day though Homra is dealing with an arson issue and Yata notices that Fushimi isn't with the police, when he tries to ask though he just gets blown off with a 'that person is no longer here.' What Yata doesn't know is that Fushimi is currently working undercover, Munakata has sent him to hunt down the dangerous cybercriminals known as jungle and infiltrate their lair. No one except Munakata knows about this, all of S4 think Fushimi has betrayed them and Homra has no idea at all where Fushimi's gone.
Fushimi finally manages to work his way up through jungle's ranks, he discovers that they've been behind the rash of fires happening in the city lately. He sends the info to Munakata but gets caught before he can escape himself, in order to buy time for S4 to come and catch jungle he goads jungle's guys into beating him up. In the end jungle's leader, Hisui, states that they cannot stay in this hideout any longer, he has Fushimi tied up and left in the building and then orders his men to set it on fire. Fushimi's lying there half-conscious and vaguely aware of what's happening, giving this bitter smile as he thinks how ironic that even after he left Homra he's still going to end up dying by fire anyway.
Scepter 4 manages to catch jungle before they can escape, at the same time Homra arrives to handle the fire. Yata's annoyed that S4 is going to get all the glory for capturing jungle when it's Homra who will be stopping the fire, that's when he hears one of jungle's guys mocking S4 about how 'that traitor' still won't make it out alive. Yata feels this sudden sinking feeling and demands to know what the guy is talking about, this is when Munakata reveals that Fushimi has been infiltrating jungle for the last few weeks. Yata finds himself suddenly frantic as he asks where Fushimi is then, like didn't you guys get him out. In response Munakata only looks towards the burning building and imagine Yata just moves on instinct, not waiting for the rest of Homra and not even entirely aware of what he's doing until the moment he runs inside the burning building.
Yata runs through the building yelling for Fushimi, maybe he's so frantic that he isn't even keeping his power up properly and he gets a little singed. He's starting to panic, like what if he's too late what if Saruhiko is dead, and that's when he spots a soft glow of unmistakable Red power. Yata runs into the room where Fushimi is lying half conscious and glowing with a faint Red light. Yata goes to him, grabbing him and yelling his name, Fushimi looks up at him hazily and murmurs 'Misaki...?' before sagging in Yata's arms as his Red power finally dies. Yata lets the glow of his own power cover Fushimi's body as he drags Fushimi's unconscious body onto his back, vowing that he's going to get Fushimi out of here no matter what. He manages to get Fushimi out of the building just before it collapses, the rest of Homra moving in for the cleanup as Yata lies there panting and clinging to the unconscious Fushimi. Munakata has an ambulance called for Fushimi and imagine he lets Yata go along too, stating that 'this person will take care of Fushimi-kun's welfare best, I suspect.' Yata's still there at Fushimi's bedside when Fushimi wakes up, clinging to his hand and telling Fushimi that he better not ever do this to Yata again, like what was I supposed to do if you died.
#sarumi#Talking K#and then they kiss#oh maybe Yata has to give Fushimi mouth to mouth after saving him#y'know to help him#and also because it would be romantic and dramatic

Post-RoK, Saru plays online games for fun in his spare time. Reluctantly teams up with someone cause a quest required it be cleared by more than one player and this other player is high level as well and wasn't that bad. Teams up with this player again whenever a quest that needs it pops up. Gets a bit comfortable with the other person and sometimes vaguely vents about Misaki and the other person vents to him sometimes about stuff, too. Finds out later that the other player is actually Sukuna.
Post-ROK Fushimi is also slightly more willing to indulge in the multiplayer if he has too, like he's learning to rely on other people after all. Imagine he hasn't played online games in a while because he didn't want to deal with the idea of co-op or having to work with other people but then post-ROK he decides to give it a try again. Maybe Yata talks him into it, knowing how Fushimi used to love those kinds of games, and Yata even plays along with him sometimes and helps him with dungeons and stuff. One day Fushimi's playing on his own and some limited-time special dungeon pops up that can only be defeated by a team of at least two players. Yata's at work and won't be free for several hours, by which time the dungeon will have closed, and Fushimi really wants the rare item inside. His character is hanging around outside the dungeon and Fushimi decides to just go for it and make a request for a teammate. Someone responds to him almost immediately, another player who has a high level and some good gear, so Fushimi accepts the request.
The two of them end up making a pretty good team, the other guy tends to run ahead a little and Fushimi finds himself clicking his tongue and thinking that this guys needs to learn to work with other people more (possibly totally unaware of the irony in this thought). The other player is strong though and Fushimi likes having someone who can keep up with him, maybe without even quite realizing Fushimi keeps trying via his play style to get the other guy to fall into a rhythm rather than rushing ahead all the time. They make a good team and eventually complete the dungeon in like a record time, the other player is all smug like huh I guess you were actually good enough to keep up with me and Fushimi's like weren't you the one always getting us into trouble and needing rescue. The other guy's like yeah well anyway if you need help with a dungeon again just call me. Fushimi doesn't really think much about that but maybe the other player contacts him another time when a dungeon pops up, acting like 'hey I can help you with this if you want' and Fushimi figures why not, he'll need to beat the dungeon eventually anyway.
Eventually the two of them start to get more comfortable with each other, Fushimi kinda suspects that this other player must be a kid with a big head who can't find anyone else to play with him. He makes a comment to that effect and is snapped at but then the player admits that while he is definitely not a kid maybe he's been getting tired of playing by himself all the time. After a while the other player opens up more and says he used to have someone amazing who would play games with him but that person is gone and the 'big brother-like guy' that he's living with doesn't like games so he's actually feeling a little lonely. Fushimi understands that too and vaguely alludes to his own situation, how he had a falling out with his only friend and they're just starting to make up and he's realizing that his coworkers care a lot about him too but it's awkward learning to accept this sort of affection.
One day when they're playing maybe the loot they win is a scythe and the other player is pumped because he's been trying to get this weapon forever. While he's celebrating he makes a comment about how it reminds him of 'all the great times with Nagare' and Fushimi just freezes at the sight of that name. He recalls the other things that this guy has said, about having been with someone who played games and complaining about how the guy he lives with won't play video games because they aren't 'beautiful' and Fushimi realizes that there's only one person this could be. Fushimi's like 'that brat, huh?' and he almost wants to log off but then he just shakes his head and chuckles like well why not. He figures he'll keep this to himself for a bit, since Sukuna probably would log off if he knew it was Fushimi, and maybe he can finally teach the brat some lessons in this capacity and get him to grow up a little.
#Fushimi Saruhiko#Gojo Sukuna#Talking K#Fushimi figures he doesn't want to lose his good raiding partner#but maybe he ends up unintentionally going into mentor role#like he's going to make this kid be less of a brat that's all#imagine meanwhile Sukuna is actually getting really attached#and then he eventually realizes his partner is Fushimi and he's mortified but also he liked playing together#he decides to keep playing with Fushimi just to show his superiority#which Fushimi won't accept and now they can be ten year olds together

In a ridiculous twist of irony, Fushimi puts his foot down and tells Yata, "You have to stop overworking yourself. It's not healthy."
Can you imagine Fushimi saying this to Yata and even he's like I can't believe I'm actually the one saying this. Maybe this is like post-ROK and Yata and Fushimi are planning to get an apartment together. Fushimi offers to pay for it since he's got so much cash from his job but Yata's determined to pay his part, even if he doesn't make a lot at the skate shop. He's worried that Fushimi will think Yata only wants him for his money or that Yata's like freeloading, Yata really wants to show Fushimi that he can take care of Fushimi too even if he doesn't have a fancy job. Yata decides to start taking on some side jobs, doing deliveries for Kusanagi and taking on extra hours at work. He's really focused, like he's going to pay his part of the down payment on the perfect apartment and help Fushimi buy new furniture for it too (and maybe if he has some left he can stow that money away for a ring later on). Fushimi keeps trying to tell him that it isn't a big deal, Fushimi has plenty of money, but Yata's determined – maybe he's internalized this a bit, that he's an idiot who won't amount to anything and he's determined to show that he's not going to just piggyback off Saruhiko, he's going to do this right and pay his part of things.
At some point it becomes clear that this is exhausting Yata but he's still stubborn and determined not to quit. Fushimi's still mostly living at the dorms but he stays at Yata's place sometimes too and it's getting to where he feels like he never sees Yata and half the time when he does Yata just looks all tired and distracted. It's getting to the point too where like Yata will make food for Fushimi but he isn't really making any for himself, just buying a Caloriemate or something and Fushimi is suddenly feeling very uncomfortable when he realizes this. Imagine he's really preoccupied by it and the squad notices that something's off, Akiyama asks him what's wrong and manages to get Fushimi to admit that he's concerned because Misaki is working long hours, barely sleeping, living off only Caloriemate and coffee...the more he talks the more the squad are like wait this sounds oddly familiar. Fushimi tries to defend himself like it's normal when he does it but it doesn't feel normal for Misaki and Akiyama asks him well what does Yata-san say when you do that kind of thing, does he just let it go. Fushimi’s like of course not he makes me eat food and go to bed on time and it's like a lightbulb moment that Fushimi is actually suddenly in the position of telling someone else to stop being so unhealthy.
The next day Fushimi goes over to Yata's place and imagine he pulls up a recipe online and makes some like filling, healthy, vegetable-filled meal (holding the vegetables as far away from himself as possible, as if they're poisoned). Yata stops in looking all exhausted, saying that he's gonna make Fushimi something to eat real quick but don't worry about me I'm just gonna grab something at the convenience store. He's surprised when he smells food cooking and even more surprised when Fushimi forcibly sits him down and brings over the food, serving it to him like and you'd better eat this stupid Misaki. Yata says he has to get back to work and Fushimi clears his throat all awkwardly as he's like you need to stop overworking yourself, it isn't healthy for you.
Yata stops and then just looks at him incredulously like really you're saying this to me. He tries to blow it off as no big deal but Fushimi grabs his hand and leans in close, very serious as he says he means it. He knows that Yata wouldn't let Fushimi do to himself what Yata's doing right now, like Fushimi lived that way for years and all the people who cared about him were constantly trying to get him to see what it was doing to him. Fushimi doesn't care if they can't move into a new place right away or if Yata doesn't have money, he cares about Yata and it's worrying him to see Yata like this. He adds that if Yata saw him doing this kind of thing wouldn't Yata be worried and so he shouldn't be surprised if Fushimi's acting the same, they're partners and Fushimi wants Yata to take care of himself for Fushimi's sake if no one else's. Yata stares down at the food Fushimi made and realizes that maybe he has been a little too obsessed lately, like he knows what it feels like to be worried that your partner is hurting himself and here he's doing the same thing to Fushimi. He sighs and says maybe Fushimi has a point, smiling as he's like besides you made me food with vegetables, I can't let that sacrifice go to waste right.
#sarumi#Talking K#poor Saru it's like looking in a mirror XD#imagine him trying to repeat some of the things he remembers Misaki saying to him#also I imagine this gives Fushimi more of an awareness of how much it hurts when someone you love is harming themselves#and he actually becomes more conscientious about eating well and going to bed on time#bc now he knows how Yata's been feeling about him all this time

Fushimi likes to confess his love to Misaki in non-Japanese. Yata didn't understand what he was saying at first, but eventually joined in and learned a couple of declarations of love in foreign languages.
Imagine the first time Fushimi confesses he does it in English and Yata has no idea what he said. Maybe Fushimi finds it easier this way, like he and Yata are dating and Yata's confessed but the most Fushimi's been able to manage is a 'Me too, about Misaki' or something similar, the word 'love' is just so unfamiliar to him that it's difficult to say out loud even though he knows that's what he feels. So one day when Yata's being all casually affectionate and saying 'I love you' Fushimi responds in kind but in English, Yata asks what that means and Fushimi's like '...nothing.' The next day though at Bar Homra Yata asks Eric what it means, Eric decides to tease him by saying it means 'idiot chihuahua' but Kusanagi intervenes and tells Yata the actual meaning. Yata's face gets all red and he smiles, later when he's back at the apartment he asks Fushimi why he said 'that' in English. Fushimi clicks his tongue and looks away and Yata's like hey I'm being serious, you said you love me in English right. Finally Fushimi mumbles out '...easier,' Yata's all 'what was that?' and Fushimi admits that it's easier, when he tries to say it in Japanese the words won't come out but he can say it in English.
Yata considers that and then gives Fushimi a hug like well I guess it's fine, if you can't say it in Japanese say it however you like. Fushimi responds with an 'I love you' in French, Yata's like wait that was entirely different language that's cheating. It turns out that Munakata's had Fushimi study a few different languages for work reasons, knowing how quickly Fushimi picks up new things he realized that Fushimi would certainly be skilled at learning new languages. Yata finds it kinda difficult at first because it's hard to keep up when Fushimi keeps saying things in languages Yata can't understand but maybe he asks Kusanagi to help him with English at least. Then the next time Fushimi says 'I love you' in English Yata smiles triumphantly and responds in halting English with an 'I love you too.' Fushimi's eyes get wide and then he mumbles that Yata's accent is atrocious, he's blushing though and Yata decides he needs to start studying how to do his own declaration of love in other languages.
#sarumi#Talking K#of course sometimes Fushimi insults Yata in other languages too just to keep things interesting#Yata's like how do you know ten languages that's cheating#and Fushimi grins and says 'I love you idiot' in Spanish#Yata decides he needs to study both words for love but also insults too just in case#they have that kind of relationship after all

do you have any interesting headcanons related to sarumi? Sarumi's boyfriends. What kind of life will they have together, where or with whom will they live, will they hang out with each other's clans? will they keep the other's photo in their wallets? do they have a common budget? who takes out the trash? Will they have problems with the fact that Yata wants to bring friends home, and Fushimi wants silence, and Misaki?
I imagine they would probably move in together in like a completely new apartment, Yata's place being too small for the both of them and of course he can't move into the dorms with Fushimi. Fushimi does still keep his room at S4 just in case, like during long missions when he doesn't have time to come home he can sleep in his old room without having to worry about travel back and forth. I kinda like the idea that if possible they would get their old apartment back but I think they'd want a bigger one now that they can afford it, something with multiple rooms and maybe even rooftop access, like the apartment they'd always dreamed of but didn't have the money as kids to buy. They divide up the chores for the most part, with Fushimi handling the finances and Yata doing a lot of the housework, though Yata also teaches Fushimi how to do things like his own laundry and cook his own food so that Fushimi can actually be a bit more self-sufficient for once. Yata does end up being the one who mostly takes out the trash and cleans the dishes just because Fushimi tends to forget about it. I see this being one of those things where it bothers Yata more than Fushimi and so Yata basically has to do it because Fushimi will just leave the trash for ages otherwise.
I could see Yata hanging out with Scepter 4 more than Fushimi hangs out with Homra. Fushimi I think might Bar Homra from time to time and talk to Kusanagi and Anna but otherwise I can't see him feeling comfortable with the Homra guys, he's not like actively hating them he just doesn't feel comfortable hanging out with them. Yata on the other end is way more friendly, once he realizes that the Blue clan is made up of a bunch of affable nerds he's perfectly willing to spend time with them. I could see him actively hanging out with Doumyouji and Hidaka on their own but the others it's more he doesn't mind tagging along with Fushimi to S4 drinking parties or talking with them while waiting for Fushimi to finish work.
I could see there being some tension with Yata wanting to bring friends home and Fushimi wanting the opposite of that, but I think Yata would encourage Fushimi to be honest about his feelings so that they can come to an understanding. Like Yata realizes pretty quickly that he can't just bring Homra guys home without any warning, especially since Fushimi often brings his work home. So if Yata wants to bring friends home he makes sure to tell Fushimi first and encourages Fushimi to let him know if that's a problem. At first Fushimi grumbles that it's fine and then suffers in silence while everyone's there being boisterous, Yata pretty quickly sees that this is a problem and tells Fushimi straight out that Fushimi is allowed to say no to things and Yata won't get mad at him. Eventually they get into a rhythm where Yata lets Fushimi know when people will be over and either Fushimi settles himself in his room for alone time and Yata keeps everyone in the living room or Fushimi spends the evening with the S4 guys actually attempting to be social with his own circle and there aren't any hard feelings.
#sarumi#Talking K#I could see them having each other's pictures in their PDAs#like as a wallpaper#also if they get engaged they both wear their rings all the time#Yata does the trash bc Fushimi probably thinks trash just disappears if you leave it long enough

How about SaruMi where: there’s only one bed, which we decide to share + accidentally blurting out “i love you” during a conversation + that “oh shit” moment when the realization hits you
Imagine this happens maybe shortly post-ROK, Yata and Fushimi have made up but Fushimi hasn't gotten around to being entirely honest about why he left and both of them are stewing quietly in the mutual crush that neither one is able to say out loud. One day there's some Strain issue happening away from the city and S4 sends Fushimi to take care of it, since they have the whole Homra alliance thing happening now Homra offers to send some backup with him as S4 can't spare anyone else. Yata of course gets picked and he's kinda nervous but excited, it's like old times again fighting with Fushimi by his side. Munakata's had one of the squad do the legwork in getting them transportation and a hotel for the night so they can take their time gathering info and cornering the Strain.
When they get to the hotel though it's late at night and pouring rain, Yata gets to drag in both their bags while Fushimi goes to check their reservations. Unfortunately there was a mix up and the rooms that were booked are no longer available, of course Fushimi takes this in a very calm and mature manner (by glaring and muttering about idiots who don't know how to run their own hotel). The desk person is very apologetic but says they do have one room and would Fushimi and Yata mind sharing, Fushimi's about to grumble that yes he would mind but Yata speaks up and says yeah that's fine. Fushimi looks over at him and Yata smiles like it'll be okay won't it, we're used to sharing a room and it'll be kinda like a sleepover, like old times. Fushimi clicks his tongue and is like I guess, Yata tells him it's no problem and they should enjoy this chance to hang out together.
Except then when they get into the room they realize the problem: it's a honeymoon suite and there is in fact only one bed. Maybe there isn't even a couch or anything, it's the bed or the floor. Fushimi waits for Yata to offer to take the floor but the ride here was long and uncomfortable and Yata really wants to sleep in a nice comfy bed. Fushimi mutters that he isn't sleeping on the floor, that's the place for hoodlums like Misaki and Yata's like hey I'm allowed to want the bed too. Fushimi says that when they had sleepovers at Yata's place Yata always took the floor and Yata's like yeah but that was my room and mom gave me an old futon and anyway I was being nice, this time I want the bed. They try to do rock paper scissors for it but every match ends in a tie, finally Yata gives this exasperated sigh as he's like why don't we just share it. Fushimi immediately stiffens and Yata's voice is sort of stilted-calm as he's like that's not a problem right, we shared the bed as kids once or twice, nothing's changed it's totally fine right. Fushimi finally gives this languid shrug all I guess it's fine and meanwhile they both are having internal 'crap' moments, Yata mentally kicking himself because seriously is he going to be able to keep his cool with Fushimi sleeping right there next to him.
It's pretty late and they're both tired so Yata's like guess I'll go to bed huh and Fushimi's all yeah guess I will too. They climb into the bed, back to back, and it's very quiet and awkward. Finally Yata gives this yell of frustration as he says he can't sleep, Fushimi claims he was sleeping fine until someone started yelling and Yata's like cut the crap I know when you’re fake sleeping. He tells Fushimi to look at him and Fushimi rolls over, in the dim light from the one lamp they left on Yata can see Fushimi doesn't have his glasses on and his hair is all tousled, looking kinda like it did when they were in middle school. Yata finds himself just staring at Fushimi, how Fushimi just looks all vulnerable and sleepy and it reminds him of all these old memories, sleepovers and their old apartment and all these past things that Yata cherished so much and he can't stop himself from reaching out to touch Fushimi's cheek. Fushimi stiffens momentarily but doesn't pull away, his face lined with exhaustion and he leans into Yata's touch and just murmurs out this soft 'I love you.'
Yata absolutely freezes and then Fushimi's eyes flash open as he realizes what he just accidentally let slip. Fushimi immediately tries to sit up and pull away and Yata's like 'wait – Saruhiko –' but Fushimi's in total flight mode and Yata has this wild thought that if he doesn't do something Fushimi's just going to dart out the window. Yata finds himself grabbing Fushimi by the wrist and pulling him back into the bed, Fushimi tries to struggle away from him and then in this single impulsive move Yata drags him close and pins Fushimi down with a kiss on the lips. Then it's like a dam breaking, Fushimi grabbing at Yata now and kissing him back with this desperation born out of years and years of holding himself back and Yata's responding in kind, the two of them just totally losing themselves in this moment and when they finally separate they're both breathing hard with red faces and suddenly the one bed doesn't seem like such a problem after all.
#sarumi#Talking K#so was that one bed a mistake or Munakata being sneaky :3c#imagine them just staring at each other all blushing and tousled and emotional#and suddenly all Yata wants to do is kiss Fushimi until he's breathless#Fushimi is having a mental blue screen moment bc he has no idea how to process this#Yata having to kinda talk him down like no it's okay I love you too you big dummy

Fushimi gets bullied and Yata saves him and they became friends. Yata thinks Fushimi is cool and can do amazing things and Fushimi wants Yata to never think badly of him or he thinks he'd lose Yata. Niki finds out about his son's new friend and decides to ruin Yata's perception of Fushimi by exposing what he knows as his son's faults for fun. Fushimi thinks he's lost Yata but it turns out Yata doesn't care about that and still likes him. Inspired by the song "Tsumi no Namae" by Hatsune Miku/ryo
Oh I could see this happening, like Niki just laughing and telling Yata all the bad things that Fushimi does, his poor habits and bad attitude and all the negative things he can think of, all in this teasing tone while Fushimi sits there with his fists clenched feeling powerless. Like imagine this some time after Yata takes care of Fushimi when he's sick, like they're just beginning to get really close and Fushimi's started clinging to Yata without realizing it. Even though Fushimi has a bad attitude he always wants Yata to think he's cool and that he's someone amazing, like Fushimi only makes plans that won't fail because if they did Yata might not be interested in him anymore. And part of him is always worried that Yata will make other friends who don't have Fushimi's hang-ups and then why would he want Fushimi to stick around when he has other people who are so much better (wait, this scenario is starting to sound familiar...). Fushimi does his best to keep Yata away from Niki especially because he's afraid Niki will break this thing that's become precious to him, he can't stand the idea that Yata might be another precious thing that gets ruined by Niki.
Even so they do occasionally hang out at Fushimi's place, Fushimi has a general idea of when Niki usually shows up and he'll allow Yata to come over only if no one's home. One day they're at Fushimi's place and instead of being in his room like usual maybe they're working on some sort of school project right near the front door, with stuff laid out all over. Fushimi leaves for a minute to go to the bathroom and that's when Niki shows up, all amused to see Saruhiko's friend is still here. Fushimi reappears and tries to get Yata to leave but Niki thinks they haven't even started having fun yet, he notices how desperate Fushimi seems and wonders if Fushimi's afraid that Niki will show Yata embarrassing pictures. There's something in the way Fushimi flinches that gives Niki an idea and he smirks like oh wait, maybe we can share secrets, why don't I tell your friend all the things only I know about my little monkey.
So then Niki starts listing all Fushimi's faults, all the times Fushimi messed up or pushed people away, how Fushimi's rude to anyone who tries to befriend him and how pathetic he really is (all of this said fondly, like Niki just loves his worthless little monkey). Fushimi finally manages to shove Yata out the door and Niki laughs even harder, Fushimi retreats up to his room and just throws blankets over his head as he sits there hunched, thinking Yata won't ever want to see him again now. But then the next day Yata's sitting in his desk by Fushimi's, chatty and bright and smiling like nothing happened at all. Fushimi's kinda on edge, waiting for the other shoe to drop, but Yata keeps acting like this is just any other day and that Fushimi is still his best friend.
Finally Fushimi can't take it anymore and imagine as they're on their way home Fushimi just stops and asks isn't Yata going to say something, about all the things 'that guy' talked to him about. Yata gets this serious look as he asks if Niki is still at Fushimi's house, and if he is Fushimi should come stay at Yata's for a while. Fushimi's all confused and Yata grabs his hand and says Fushimi is his best friend and he doesn't care about Fushimi's faults, he's still the coolest guy Yata's ever met. Fushimi's eyes get a little wide and Yata grins and says what kind of friend would he be if he left Fushimi over something like that, after all Yata's got all his faults too and Fushimi doesn't care about those. As far as Yata's concerned Fushimi is the most amazing person he knows and no matter what anyone says they're going to be friends forever. He gets a little red faced and coughs, asking if that's okay with Fushimi and Fushimi gets this small smile as he's like let's go over to your house already.
#sarumi#Talking K#this probably comes back to Fushimi again later though#in Homra when it seems like Yata's choosing everyone else over him#Fushimi finds himself thinking about that time and Yata's promise#and just getting this bitter look as he mutters 'stupid'#bc he knew all along he would never be the one chosen if Yata had a choice

Yata bought "something" tasty, but this is no longer in the refrigerator. He flips the entire kitchen and interrogates Fushimi to find the missing person. To no avail. As a result, Yata fondles Fushimi and draws him into a kiss. Then, with a happy smile, he says that he knew that Saru had eaten something tasty. Fushimi realized that he had been caught.
For some reason I thought the quotes around 'something' meant Yata brought something naughty home XD Yata probably thought his food was one thing that would be safe when he and Fushimi moved in together, like he just hides the good stuff behind the vegetables assuming Fushimi won't be able to get past the celery. One day Yata gets like something really tasty, like he saw a bakery being robbed and jumped in to save the day and in thanks they gave him this expensive high end chocolate pastry. Yata takes it home and plans to eat it later, he's gotta run to work so he just stuffs it behind the vegetables and leaves.
When he gets home later Fushimi's already on the couch working on his laptop. Yata greets him and then heads into the kitchen to finally try his tasty snack, only to find that it's missing. Yata knows he left it behind the vegetables but it’s definitely not there anymore. He looks in the cupboards just to be sure he didn't accidentally leave it out or something, no luck. Finally Yata glances back at Fushimi over on the couch, like wait did he actually steal my food. Yata walks over and asks if Fushimi saw a pastry in the fridge, Fushimi denies he even opened the fridge and says he ate a Caloriemate. Yata's like really, you didn't even look, and Fushimi keeps staring at his computer as he's like why would I be looking around in the fridge.
Yata's at a loss, like he knows Fushimi's the only one who could have eaten his food but he can't exactly interrogate Fushimi all evening. Then he gets an idea and he gets this grin as he moves closer to Fushimi all 'Saru...'. Fushimi ignores him and Yata moves closer, practically in Fushimi's lap. Fushimi's trying to focus on his computer but Yata's like kissing his neck and being all needy, trying to get Fushimi to look at him. Finally Fushimi pushes his computer aside and lets Yata pull him into this soft, tender kiss...and then Yata's like 'Chocolate, I knew it you asshole you ate my food!'. (Fushimi has no shame now that he's been caught, telling Yata he should put a note on his food next time if he doesn’t want it to be eaten, Fushimi already figured out that Yata hides everything good with the vegetables months ago.)
#Sarumi#Talking K#Yata should just be happy Fushimi's eating anyway#Yata's like you're supposed to eat healthy things not steal my snacks#Fushimi just shrugs and says if Yata wants to taste it he can always give Fushimi a few more kisses

Saruhiko hates healthy foods, but one day Yata pesters him to try something out by offering a spoon full of veggies to him and going, "Say 'ah"". And. And listen. Saruhiko hates vegetables, but he also has a massive crush on Misaki that only Misaki seems to miss-- so, well, he bends down and lets himself be fed. And Saruhiko still hates vegetables, but even in public Yata is willing to feed him if it means Saru will eat something healthy, so it's nice to Saru how that makes them look like a couple to other people.
In which Yata inadvertently finds the one way Fushimi will eat his vegetables. Imagine this post-ROK, they've decided to give living together another go but neither one has confessed any feelings yet and Fushimi is just drowning in his silent crush on Misaki. He's always kinda been in love and deep down he knows it, that he's been kidding himself this whole time trying to tell himself he hated Yata because it was easier than admitting he feels like Yata won't ever love him back. But now that they're living together again the crush is even stronger, the smallest things reminding Fushimi how much he loves Misaki and he's just stewing there in his own inability to deal with his own emotions and Yata's complete obliviousness.
Yata meanwhile is determined to teach Fushimi to become self sufficient and healthy and part of that involves making him finally eat some damn vegetables. Yata's tried everything – hiding them in meat, cutting them into fun shapes, even using his best Mom voice and threatening to send Fushimi to bed without dessert (this last one backfires because of course Fushimi's just like 'fine' and goes right to bed, Yata's immediately like wait a sec you haven't eaten you can't go to bed yet). One day just out of general exasperation Yata holds out the spoon full of veggies and is all 'Saruhiko, say ah.' Fushimi blinks at him and realizes that here's Misaki holding a spoonful of food and okay sure it's vegetables and he hates those but on the other hand Yata's offering to feed him and that's sort of romantic right. So despite himself Fushimi leans in and eats the food. Yata is triumphant that he actually managed to get Fushimi to eat, Fushimi has just realized that this is one way to make his dreams come true so he refuses to eat any more vegetables unless Misaki hand-feeds him this way. Yata's like well that's weird but whatever if that's what it takes to get you to eat. Soon this escalates to the two of them eating dinner in public and Yata's feeding Fushimi as if they're a sappy lovey dovey couple but Yata is still oblivious and Fushimi is stubbornly forcing himself to eat the veggies in the hope that maybe someone somewhere will mention how much they seem like a couple this way and Misaki will finally figure it out.
#sarumi#Talking K#and then on the other hand he's worried someone will call them a couple#and Yata will immediately deny it and say they're just friends#so then Fushimi doesn't want to eat veggies in public anymore but he still wants Misaki to feed him#their romance is very complicated and they're stupid please have pity on them

A strain made Munakata extra possessive of his favourite. Reisaru dating/not dating scenarios?
Not dating scenario, imagine Munakata gets hit by this Strain that makes you super possessive of whoever you're attracted to. Maybe S4's been hunting the Strain down because they're like causing a bunch of people to stalk their significant others and there's been this rise in crime, Scepter 4 being generally aware of what the power is. When Munakata gets hit at first the squad thinks this shouldn't be a problem, after all Captain is a very level-headed person right, and there's no one that he's so in love with he'd become possessive. They realize how wrong this assumption is the moment they return to the office, as Munakata is assuring everyone that he feels fine Hidaka suddenly spots Fushimi and waves. In a second Hidaka finds himself pushed against a wall by what he's pretty sure is a wave of Blue power as Munakata moves to greet Fushimi-kun personally. Fushimi wonders why Captain is all up in his personal space even more than usual and the squad explain it's a Strain thing, Fushimi's like 'so why is he bothering me?' and everyone exchanges worried glances.
For the rest of the day Munakata is just fiercely possessive of Fushimi and no one will explain to him exactly why, Akiyama mutters something about 'Captain's favorite' and Fushimi's just like 'eh?'. Imagine Munakata won't even let Fushimi do his work in the office, he has to be where Munakata can see him at all times (can't trust the wandering eyes of the alphabet squad after all). At some point maybe Fushimi tries to escape by going on patrol and Munakata secretly follows him. Fushimi happens to run into Yata while he's out and they're just about to fight when Munakata suddenly dives between them, imagine him blocking both Yata's bat and Fushimi's sword at the same time. Fushimi's like 'Captain?' and Munakata gives him this cold look, like did I give you permission to leave my sight. Yata wonders what's up with the Blue King and Munakata uses Blue power to just send him flying, not even looking as he scoops Fushimi up bridal-style and begins to carry him back to headquarters. Fushimi's struggling the whole way and when they get back to Munakata's office he finds himself pinned to the wall with a kiss. Fushimi's reeling from that as Munakata tells him to please stay where Munakata can see him from now on.
Dating scenario, it's probably at least a bit more tolerable since Fushimi knows Munakata loves him and this is just an irritating step up from his usual level of possessive. Oh imagine in this scenario when Fushimi first sees Munakata after the Strain attack maybe Fushimi himself was on some sort of undercover mission that required him to like dress in a maid costume or something of the sort. Naturally Munakata cannot allow anyone else to see his Fushimi-kun in this state and he's almost immediately pushing Fushimi into the nearest room where he will stay until Munakata feels he's decently covered (though perhaps Munakata wants to enjoy the costume himself a little first, Fushimi doesn't even find out about the Strain until some time later and is like so that's why Captain was so eager). Fushimi finds it stifling that Munakata wants eyes on him at all times but at the same time it isn't so bad in some respects, like he'll be working and Munakata just walks over and starts kissing and fussing over him, calling Fushimi 'mine' and that's not so bad, hearing Munakata say that Fushimi belongs to him and only him.
#Reisaru#Talking K#he would definitely not let Fushimi anywhere near Homra#like Yata and Mikoto are now Munakata's enemy number one for daring to look at his Fushimi-kun#not dating scenario imagine when Munakata goes back to normal he doesn't remember most of what happened#so now only Fushimi remembers the kiss and has no idea what to do about it

The vice versa of the Misaki died protecting S4 ask.
Hmm, so S4 members die protecting Yata? (Though 'Fushimi dies protecting Homra' is also intriguing.) I wonder if Yata would feel conflicted about his feelings for Scepter 4 after this, like especially if we set this pre-ROK Yata always thought of Scepter 4 as 'the enemy' and the place that stole away Saruhiko but then here some members actually laid down their lives to protect him and continuing to dislike them after that feels wrong to him. Like imagine there's some kind of Strain issue happening and Yata gets caught up in it, as he's fighting the Strain some of the S4 alphabet squad show up chasing after the same guy. Yata tells them to watch out and maybe like dives in front of the Strain and almost gets hurt, he's sent flying and ends up like unable to move for a minute, dizzy and in pain. The Strain attempts to attack again and Yata's in a position where he can't defend himself, suddenly the S4 squad jump between him and the Strain and take the full brunt of the attack.
In the aftermath Yata's standing around all awkwardly as Scepter 4 blocks off the scene and takes stock of what happened, it's a very sober affair and Yata can feel more than a few accusing stares in his direction. I think he'd feel really frustrated about this, like I don't think Yata would ever be happy if someone died for him but especially it being people who he considered enemies and thought badly of, and he feels like as a member of Homra the least he could have done was not be a burden on another clan. There's also maybe a feeling like he 'owes' Scepter 4 something now, since they did save his life and all. He spots Fushimi off to the side talking to some of the other squad members, taking notes and giving orders and Yata doesn't even know what to say to him, like an apology seems pathetic but what else does he have to offer.
I actually wonder if this scenario would lead to Yata maybe reconciling with Fushimi earlier, or at least becoming more determined to and he stops being hostile towards Scepter 4 entirely. Like imagine one of the S4 boys who was killed was one of the squad members who is close to Fushimi like Akiyama or Hidaka, someone who has at least observed Fushimi long enough to know he has some kind of strong feelings towards Yata. Imagine after the Strain is taken down Yata runs to the dying S4 members and asks why they saved him, and one of them weakly says that they had to, because Fushimi-san would never be the same if Yata died. That sticks with Yata strongly and he decides that he has to find a way to reconcile with Saruhiko, like a member of Scepter 4 died so that Fushimi wouldn't have to lose Yata and if it's that important Yata realizes that Fushimi must still feel something for him besides hatred. And even though Fushimi tries to deny it and maybe even taunts Yata with it, coldly saying that didn't Yata kill enough of their members already, Yata won't back down on trying to understand him because those guys didn't die just so Yata could give up and let things go back to the way they were.
#Yata Misaki#Talking K#RIP brave S4 boys who died so the two idiots would talk to each other#I think this would make Yata pause and think about his feelings more though#like I could see him maturing a bit faster here and becoming more friendly towards S4#maybe also feeling like he should be working with them more anyway because he 'owes' them#...though if he said that to Munakata I wonder if Munakata would take it seriously?#like he calls Yata for information or tries to make him help S4 with things#because after all Yata did say he needed to pay a debt did he not
