everybody say thank you @endureher for requesting a full fic of gamer!ellie. honestly i’m not 100% comfortable writing with ‘you’ yet as i’m more of a connoisseur for oc stories so here’s a one shot to start it up

in which ellie finally tells the world your hers

you and ellie had been dating for eleven months and it had been the best eleven months of both your lives. you shared a passion for entertainment, while you write poems and stories, ellie played games and streamed to thousands of people

her stream knew she wasn’t single, small slip ups every now and then. the door randomly opening and a black kitten prancing through the slit just for the door to close again

or whenever someone asked about her day and she may or may not have told them about her date with a very pretty lady.

ellie knew she wanted her fans to know her partner and what better way than to stream with you. the starting soon screen staring back at the two of you as you sat in front of the screens

playing sims with a special guest

that was the stream title, ellie usually had guest on her stream. whether it was her best friends dina and jesse in person or people she met online through the mic. it was rare for ellie to do a lone stream

so, when the clock on her desk turned 6pm, the girl started up the stream. her hand carefully placed on your thigh as you both welcome the viewers.

many people already knew who you were, enjoying your poetry books or romance novels (that just so happened to be proudly presented in the background of ellie’s stream at all time).

ellie introduced you, saying how exciting it was to have such an aspiring writer on her stream. around ten minutes into the livestream, you both finally started playing. mutually agreeing to make each others characters. you made ellie’s and she made yours.

however, what the stream wasn’t expecting was ellie to change the relationship of the two sims characters to ‘married’. everyone took note of the way you smiled with a roll of you eyes, your own arm bumping into your girlfriends

“oh did i forget to mention that y/n is my girlfriend?” ellie asked nonchalantly, the chat going absolutely crazy as you two just smiled.

you played for just under two hours, creating a beautiful home and living a wonderful life. it’s safe to say chat managed to make some beautiful edits of you both and everyone swooned over both yours and ellies instagram posts.

2018 VoicePlay winter wrap-up — conclusions, adventures, and fortifications

The guys started the year by recharging from the rush of the holiday season, releasing more of the previous year's music, and working on some personal projects before they hit the road again.

Hot and cold

First up was J.None's feature on ATK's single "Guilty" on New Year's Day, followed the next day by VoicePlay's "Waving Through A Window" collaboration with Kurt Hugo Schneider that they'd filmed in October, and a fun animated version of "Happy Birthday" for their fans a couple days after that. J also completed filming for his nephew's first music video with some help from family and friends.

Amid the celebrations, though, they also lamented that Florida was experiencing some actual winter weather that their homes weren't built for.

Luckily, they had an escape planned, in the form of a quick cruise to the Bahamas aboard the familiar Disney Dream. J.None livestreamed part of their drive to the ship, and recorded a short Instagram video in the port.

Business and pleasure

Once they were back home, they announced the release of their "Look What You Made Me Do" video with pocket.watch, then headed even farther north for their annual trip to the Association of Performing Arts Professionals conference in NYC. During a day of showcase concerts, they spent some backstage time with the Plain White T's and singer/songwriter Eric Hutchinson. Once they were done, they met up with their fellow Floridians in Vox Audio and The Edge Effect for some hang time.

Mouse-apallooza

While the other guys tended to things at home, J.None headed to Los Angeles as part of the workshop week for Disney's new touring group DCappella, under the musical direction of Deke Sharon.

The first wave cast that emerged from this process was Morgan (soprano), Shelley (mezzo), Sojourner (alto), RJ (tenor), Orlando (baritone), Joe (bass), and Antonio (percussion). That lineup was featured in music videos and live shows.

J.None was chosen to sing baritone in the second wave cast, which ultimately didn't end up touring, but those members were still featured on some of the group's audio recordings, and some later cycled into the touring cast as the original members retired.

Meanwhile, Layne and Tony finished up PattyCake's long awaited "Grande Mermaid" video and released it into the wild, then got to work filming their next project, "The Disney Showman".

Hey there, cats and kittens

Once J.None was back on the East Coast, VoicePlay spent a Saturday morning entertaining animal medicine professionals as part of the opening day of the annual Vetinary Meeting & Expo. They even met fellow animal lover Michael J. Fox, who spoke about the emotional benefits of pets to his quality of life as a disabled person.

It's unclear whether the guys got to spend any time with the animals that were on site for hands-on educational sessions, or the pets attendees had brought with them to participate in a 5K fundraiser fun-run. At least most of them got to go home to their own furry friends afterward.

Southwest adventures

The next weekend, VoicePlay headed west. Their show in Oakland, CA was cancelled due to a scheduling conflict at the venue, but they still had a grand time in Tempe, AZ and Las Vegas. Especially since they got to see several Patreon patrons in person. (And some fans continued the tradition of gifting them with snacks.)

Back to the grind

The following weekend was bookended by business time. After facing disappointment at a restaurant on Friday, they played it safe for their weekly planning meeting on Monday by gathering at Casa Lucci.

Positive vibes

J.None spent the Presidents' Day holiday filming an anti-bullying music video with Alexis Taylor Kritsky, his big sister and nephew, a local activist, and a group of volunteers.

.

The next day, DCINY announced the featured singers for their annual Total Vocal a cappella concert, including VoicePlay.

While that was happening, the PattyCake guys teamed up with their old friends at Entertainment Central Productions to film a fun video for their grown-up girl group, 4Eva29.

Oh no, Mister Bill Earl!

February ended with a little more excitement than expected when Earl wound up in the hospital for an emergency appendectomy. But through a combination of his otherwise good health, stubbornness, and the wonders of modern surgical techniques, he was back on his feet in just a couple days. The guys didn't even need to postpone their shows at the beginning of March.

Midwest trip

With their tenor on the mend, VoicePlay headed toward the Great Lakes for a loop through central Indiana, western Ohio, and eastern Illinois.

They returned there a year and a half later as part of their 2019 Warm Up holiday tour.

Sing for me!

The PattyCake guys started the next week by filming a Greatest Showman / Phantom of the Opera mashup video with classical singer Fernando Varela. They recruited Leah Lowman from their rotating "Unexpected Musicals" cast to play Christine, and Tony dusted off his mask and cape to cameo as the lurking Phantom.

A couple days later, Layne lent a hand — and his home studio's equipment — to one of his girls and her friends to record a song for a video project they entered into a student film contest at their school. (And they won!)

.

When the weekend rolled around, VoicePlay headed over to the Gulf Coast for a show in Tarpon Springs.

.

In the middle of the week, the guys gathered at Rayne's Room to get nostagic with a new "Aca Top 10" countdown featuring the cartoon themes of their childhoods.

.

They spent the next day performing at a private outdoor event in Palm Beach (and communing with some of the local wildlife).

.

Big Apple time

In advance of the Total Vocal show, Layne and Cyndi took their older girls and Layne's parents to NYC for a couple days of spring break family time, seeing the sights and a couple Broadway shows.

The rest of VoicePlay flew up on Friday to rehearse for the concert on Saturday and perform on Sunday. A grand time was had by all as they reunited with Deke Sharon and other aca-friends from DCappella and Vocalosity, and met new friends from Pentatonix and the Pitch Perfect movies.

Work, work

After flying home and getting a little rest, it was time to get back to business, planning their video projects for the coming months.

From four to five once more

VoicePlay capped off the season by finally formally welcoming J.None to their permanent ranks.

Since J had started appearing at concerts even before Tony officially left, had guested in four music videos before they stopped crediting him as a featured singer, and was included as a member of the group on the liner notes for their new holiday album, this was more of a confirmation than an announcement, but it was a very welcome one.

“Wang Yibo has no childhood since he was 13. When he left his hometown, he gets homesick and was quite sad. He also picked up a stray kitten and give it a name, and also help a deaf person with directions and wrote to them a ‘Jiayou!’ (You got this!, you can do it! etc.) message. He got splashed with paint by the antis, confused but also smiled in front of the camera and said, “I see it as them congratulating me”. A young boy flew to South Korea himself to participate in an audition, standing on stage looking left and right only to see one single banner of him in the audience, filming for days and nights to the point of hospitalized due to fatigue from overworking. In order to encourage his juniors he end up telling his childhood story of him dealing with myocarditis (inflammation of the heart) and that he had to stop dancing. His birthday’s livestream got disturbed by the antis coming in and insult him, his phone got blew up by the sasaeng fans constantly calling him, and later the boy said he never want to celebrate his birthday again. He was attacked on sns for 8 days and 8 nights, with a trembling voice in an interview, he said if he is no longer needed in the entertainment industry then he will just do motorcycle racing. I always thought I could protect him by standing in front of the boy, but then I found that he already full of arrows on his back while exposing his soft front to me, telling me to stay indifferent (wu gan) and not to worry about it”. “He is a baby that I will forever treasured in my heart, he is a sincere, honest, and magnanimous child. My heart trembles and hurts every time I recall his past. For such a child, don’t say that he’s acting or pretending, please think before you speak”.

-��He’s telling a young background actor (extras) to stop working this job and just focus in school. 

A side note: Yibo is not trying to say ‘stop following your dreams’, the thing is working as an extras is a very harsh job with lots of risks. The wage is ridiculously low (ex: a woman kneeling for 50 hrs as an extra received approx 50usd) and basic necessity is ignored by filming crew such as meals and even had to sleep on the ground at filming location (not all filming productions are like this but most are). It is very difficult to become the ‘main’ or even side characters. So Yibo seeing a young man with promising future like this, he can’t help but telling him to focus in school. I couldn’t find any English articles that talk about this topic, but there are a lot of them in Chinese with many pictures behind the scenes of extras actors, if you know Chinese just simply look up 群众演员

barely see any banners for him

A makeup artist said Yibo face is colorless (tired) but he asked them to continue with the makeup, when she turns away and come back and see Yibo has already knocked out.

Carman Lee said “Wang Yibo has worked very hard, he soaked himself in cold water for a long time and not even utter a complaint, a very professional young actor.

One of the director said Wang Yibo has moved her so much that she cried. He couldn’t even eat the porridge when he was hospitalized and still insist on going back to the filming location. Coming back, he threw up many times that night, and passed out the next day. Wishing Yibo to never get sick, she was very hurt seeing him like this.

KT under fire by netziens for VLive story

KT of Reaper7 has been under fire as of late due to a vlive he conducted on Saturday night. In this impromptu vlive, KT introduced his new kitten, Zuzu, for everyone to see, then proceeded to have a quiet, and laid back session responding to fans in the comments.

However, later on in the live, KT came forth with how he joined Two Star Entertainment, something that had never been officially confirmed in the past. KT’s story was as follows

“I was bored. When I was 17, I didn’t know what to do with myself. I’d taken IQ tests when I was 14, they told me I was genius, and they all expected me to do things in the academic world, but I didn’t want to. So at 17, I was sort of just wandering around not doing anything but advanced classes and decided I would experiment. I wanted to see if it was really talent and skill that got you into companies like this or if there was some sort of…combination of methods i could use to get in. I did a social experiment…so I went and did research, talked to people, then executed everything I learned in my audition.They told me later that I got in because I could sing and looked nice doing it, and it had nothing to do with anything else, though. I had planned on leaving and studying computers, but I actually liked being here, so I stayed.”

At the time, KT’s story didn’t seem to meet much criticism, but in the hours following the livestream, netziens began to feel offended by KT’s apparent non-chalant nature in joining the company and rushed to social media to express their disappointment:

TSTAR7: So it was just a game for KT? That’s really disrespectful of everyone else in Reaper7 who worked hard.

BloodSweatandReaper: I’m so upset…does he not really care? KT always seems more relaxed than other members, but I thought that he was just an easy going idol. I feel betrayed now!

Knetzy: Unstanned. He clearly is a stuck up idol treating his members and fans like toys until he’s bored again. I can’t believe this. I can’t give my support to an idol like this. He should leave and let the members who care continue on.

The negative comments where plentiful, but there were still many who continue to support KT and see the positive side of his story.

ReapMeBaby: Such fake fans! How can you suddenly not support him because he was honest. He clearly loves being a member and works hard. Just because he did it out of boredom doesn’t mean he’s doing it out of boredom now.

Iheartnerds: he’s so real about it. I’m glad he’s here, and I’m glad he trust us enough to tell us some of his history, because he doesn’t like talking about his past. I’ll continue to support him!

KTTT96:  KT loves us. And he loves Reaper7. Have you see how close he is with Yuu? If he really didn’t care anymore and thought this was a game, he would have gone to study computers like he said. KT, fighting!
