on that same note i'm kind of a massive fan of how adoption works in the tsc universe. if you see a child on the street and you like them you can just take them home if you want. however they have to explicity decide for themselves if they want to actually be your child otherwise they'll just be considered a random person who lives in your house. if needed surname changes can be done by just saying you have a new last name now. every part of this is legal
