Continuing from yesterday, we’re still in Venom War

I joked about that “Eddie would do something stupid!” thing but Dylan is actually proving to be a strategist. He managed to come up with a good plan even in the middle of all the stress of finding out Meridius is Eddie

Nothing to see here, just Eddie getting nude and asking Flash to trust him 🫣

Oooh man! He’s back, the man, the legend, the biggest hater of them all! OG Anti-Venom coming back really wasn’t in my bingo card and I had no idea it would make me as happy as it did!

Also this was so clever, Anti-Venom being under Eddie’s control because it comes from Eddie’s body. But also you mean that this whole time Flash was bonded to a part of Eddie and we only learn of it now???

These guys will kill me

Also, Eddie rebuilding Flash’s body? Acknowledging that after coming back via codex and symbiote dragon he wasn’t fully human? I am in love!

(And still no magical disability cure, thanks.)

He looks so at peace here. Like, remember how Anti-Venom Eddie had all that god complex. And now he is literally a god. But he is being cool about it now. Character development!

And here is another issue, though. Dylan can protect the symbiotes he freed from being touched by Anti-Venom as Eddie does this. Cool. So Symby, Toxin, Sleeper, Rascal, Flexo, they’re all safe. What about everyone else? All the space symbiotes that have nothing to do with the zombies? The Life Foundation symbiotes (who are definitely linked to Meridius since he can speak into their minds)? Princess? Is this going to affect them in any way?

(At least no need to worry about Silence and Misery since they are already partially Anti-Venom)

“Freeing the living, letting the dead rest” is a beautiful sentence anyway

Most of all, though, I am happy that Anti-Venom finally got to use its powers towards symbiotes again, instead of only generic healing

(Shouldn’t Meridius also have control of Anti-Venom? Ah no wait, 7.0 said that only Eddie had control of his body, I think)

I really love the dynamics between Red and Meridius. Red is intentionally being as much of a jerk as they can be. Meridius has no patience for it. And also Meridius has all the book smarts Eddie has but adds excessive amounts of pretentiousness and arrogance to it

Symby literally gave birth to Carnage. Eddie has known them since they were born. And yet it was Dylan, that was killed by them once in the recent past who recognizes them first. Cool

Black, white and blood

Hah, remember those days (weeks?) when I wouldn’t shut up about black goo and red goo? I didn’t think of the white one, though

There’s something cool about the whole hive (black) being now infected by the symbiote-like symbiote killer born from Eddie’s body when he was a regular human and by the once regular symbiote who was always more durable and contagious than any other and who ascended to almost godhood through their own hard work (well, the work was mostly murder, but still)

When I said they should depose the King in Black, I was thinking of something less violent. (And also of the symbiotes in the Hive doing it themselves, but I guess if killing a King in Black was possible for those under him, they would have killed Knull long ago). But this works for me. It had to be Dylan, he was fated to free the symbiotes after all. Being Codex isn’t that fun now

It surprises me that this was what Old Dylan wanted, though. I guess this Carnage-infected Eddie was the big boss villain in his future, which makes sense, but why symbiote machines and why was he sick like that? There are still questions about him

And really… just last issue Dylan was crying over Eddie’s imminent death. Then we started the issue with Symby not wanting them to kill the rage drunk evil Eddie. And we ended it with Dylan actually having to kill Eddie. This surely will have no consequences in his emotional state

Also Symby was there! With Dylan! They were unhappy about the “killing Eddie” plan from the start, even before they learned everything they learned in this arena, before Eddie got to apologize and to show that he really doesn’t want to hurt Dylan and will fight anyone who tries (even if it means kicking his own ass). I don’t remember a lot of the details of the divorce but I think it was always Eddie wanting to kill Symby, never Symby wanting to kill Eddie. So if I recall this correctly, not even when Eddie was not himself and tried to kill Symby did Symby want to kill Eddie. And now they did

I’m not worried about Eddie, he can deal with this. But I am worried about Dylan and Symby who ended up in this position, who had to do this
