Derek Florentem - Student council president

An entry in my WOA art series aka Wu's Oc Academy. Were I take all my OCs and try fitting/reimagine them all existing in the same made up fantasy setting.

Who was this Oc originally?

Just like my Oc Hector, Derek originates from an Old MMO from Aeria Games, named Eden Eternal. Just from that I thought a fun idea would be to have them be related in my Oc crossover nonsense. Since they both stem from the same place, so to speak. Worth mentioning is he was my Maplestory character, I never made it far in that game cause damn was it grindy, but I love the artstyle. It's my main inspiration for my chibi art if I haven't mention it yet.

Also Derek was also the base for my Wizarding World Oc, who's concept I've have kind of dumped/neglected since someone's mouldy walls were exposed.

Introduction:

Derek is a tall and composed figure. With an unyielding seriousness that matches his strict adherence to rules. Students and staff alike know him as a someone who tolerates no nonsense, holding both himself and others to the high standards. His magical prowess lies in transmutation, where his precision and discipline shine. His spells are tailored for control, often favouring stunning and restraint techniques that neutralize situations without unnecessary harm.

While is deeply loyal and proud of his family, his relationship with his half-fae brother, Hector, is a source of quiet turmoil. The fae heritage clashes with Derek’s steadfast belief in order and rules. This internal conflict is a vulnerability he conceals from the world, even as it shapes the stern figure he presents to those around him.

For all his rigidity, Derek is driven by a genuine desire to protect and lead, balancing the fine line between duty and compassion in a world where magic and morality often collide.

Fun Facts:

His scarf, which not everyone is aware of, conceals his familiars, a pair of snakes. A testament to his mastery transmutation, shifting effortlessly between scarf and familiars when needed.
