Light Vibe Check
Hellooooo, I am reading again.
Now- honestly was standoffish bc this has the be the toughest time to be motivated, and tbh it feels like I should be waiting for something. This time, it feels like something good it's just under our nose rn. So I wanted to wait- but I think if I do not post anything, it will be a bit much- bc this wait will be a bit longer than now. So i am starting off light as many things have happened. Just checking on Seunghan and SM. I will set up a new schedule later as i will be getting busier soon.
Seunghan

Queen of Pentacles + Queen of Wands + Temperance
It seems he is finding a lot of peace and patience at the moment. Particularly, I think he is relying on the actions he can see of those that support him. Like just fan support and stuff. Like he can feel the passion and energy they have for him belonging. There are many things he is grateful for. This has really stabilized his emotions surrounding his situation. He is waiting for something- and though he maybe should feel alone he doesn't feel alone at all? This kind of feeling.
SM
Tumblr media
8 of Swords + 10 of Wands + The Tower + 7 of Pentacles
Lol
It seems they are preparing something- it is very tedious and headache inducing. There may be a lot of people who do not see the point- or rather may think they dug themselves into a hole. It's a forced tower moment. Self induced. We talked abt how SM has a whole Saturn return vibe/energy going on for the next while- and this is kind of like digging deeper into that energy. It's all overwhelming and forced. There is only one way out and they have to do things they'd rather not do otherwise they'll lose control over investments over time. Weird time to mention this but the whole NewJeans thing has these companies shaking in their boots. There's a growing fear of Idols one sidedly terminating once they've fulfilled contractual investment. Though SM is no stranger to this- this is not something to make light of nor tease at.
I am seeing they know that this action they dread will only lead to better fruits of reward- so they are doubling down and getting it down regardless. But it's kind of all hands on deck basically.
Rii7e as a whole:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Empress + Knave of Chalices + 2 of Chalices
The boy's vibes- well, it's feeling very self richeous- but soft....or like- encouraging is a good word. A lot of things transpiring are feeling very much like they can see the end of the story. They are betting on it. Things- whilst not necessarily clear, are following a progression that can only mean one thing to them. It's similar how we see Wonbin reply to an OT7 and therefore drop the conclusion that Riize is 7 is the only answer. They have this similar mindset. It's very much mirroring. There's a state of calm and inner knowing- as well as firm stances on how they feel towards opposing forces- or lack thereof. They are focusing on their people.
Bottom of Deck
Tumblr media
Justice
This, to me kinda supports the notion that something is occurring and it may be inevitable justice. It's this inner feeling that what is right is going to prevail, and a lot of things are being prepared to ensure that wrongdoing isn't possible and isn't encouraged. Like the scales are tipping.

Please yall Please 🙏🏾 retire the freaky fics for a day and put some serious thought towards a mini series. I can't take the freaky onshots anymoreeee Please feed me some real food. I can't take it anymore. Like I love what yall are doing, but when I go for my daily dose of fan fics i want a lil more yk( Not saying people aren't writing sfw and fluff they are, i just see that there's a lot more smut, Not saying I avoid smut or hate it but sometimes I just want more substance, Ive been feeling like fan fiction has been oversaturated with smut the past couple years but didn't want to say anything). I am so thankful for the 2 sevika series I'm reading rn. Forgot the titles, but one is about a zombie apocalypse, and the other is kind of a slow burn, but one of the readers' legs is kind of messed up. " Why don't you write some yourself?" If you scroll down, you'll see. I've said this before, but heres the updated reason.. I write like shit, I would probably drop it after like 3 chapters, and I learned the hard way that I'm more for reader than a writer. I'm sure if I locked in, I could really do something, but I'm in Uni😔 so im locking in on these classes. I'm just begging you all to hear me out real quick
Tumblr media
Here are 2 ideas
• Vi isn't just looking for powder after she gets out of prison but reader/oc ( Either they were dating before she got arrested or They had a complicated relationship maybe with feelings they couldn't explain, but they were close, you know something along those lines.) There's so much you can do with that and make it a series and even continue it into the second season. ( The relationship is rocky at first because they're both super traumatized, but they still love each other to a certain extent, so they kinda make it work. Then because they're traumatized. They keep making mistakes, yk the typical stuff keeps working, then not working. But Caitlyn isn't completely discarded, they also have a complicated relationship it doesn't have to be romantic, but it's a little interesting. But reader isn't a big fan of their relationship at all because Caitlyn is an inforcer ( Let's say reader also lost her parents to enforcers.) So she's having a really hard time with Caitlyn and vi's relationship. But it's not giving she's playing both of them, or she's dating both of them. Basically, everything is so complicated. But you can tell the reader and vi are gonna end up together at the end.
• This one kind of takes from the story of my oc x sevika story ( but I don't really give a shit I'm not writing about it anytime soon) Basically before all that bs happened with sevika losing her arm she had a fwb/fling/situationship going on, and it was kind of getting a little serious between them. But all the stress of the enforcers coming down ( We all watched the same show there's no need to explain) While all that is happening, they begin to slowly distance themselves from each other because of stress or whatever but then sevika loses her arm, and reader is all like "omg bae your arm why didn't you let me know, You could have died and I would have never known." And sevika is all like " Why should I have told you? I don't need your pity or anything. I would have let you know if I felt like you needed to know." And reader is all like "wtf is with this attitude, You know, you should have told me. I would have been there for you. What's going on right now?" ( By the way, reader isn't just some push over, she's a little sassy ( I love sassy reader so much) So she usually doesn't let savika talk to her any type of way) the story's basically building up trust with any other exploring a relationship and going through the events of season one together, and maybe even season 2.
That's all the ideas I have for right now.But you can't tell me that wasn't fire. If you thought it was fire and you wanna see what you could do with it, Tag me or talk about it with me, I would love to expand on everything.
Just feed me something other than smut fics(ngl ive been eating them but im just tired of it and want something new💀), and please, if you could be let it be a series IM BEGGING 😔😢😢
Sorry for any grammar mistakes

Is it weirdly confrontational to point out that tropical climates and people outside Europe are stereotyped?
Yes, of course English-speaking works are based on the experiences and cultures of the anglophone world by the most part. You should realize, however, the cultural pull those works have over the rest of the world. I live in a very warm, subtropical part of Argentina, and I've read books from local authors that incorporate such Middle Ages tropes like nothing, because that's how you do things in the genre, because that's just how things are done. I've seen very talented authors from East Asia that do the stereotypical European Standard Fantasy Setting, and it does get me wondering why. Because this is in fact, not new, after all, European literature, and then Usamerican literature, had a prestige that other wished to imitate; not only in these specific examples, but also in many, many other ways, from themes to style to the language itself. The prestige was not so much in the quality itself, but in the sense that they were considered more, well, prestigious, a way to make your work more noticeable. Or in our current times, more sellable.
So it's not just "English writers write what they like, and other people write what they like too!". When you see the same tropes replicated by people all over the world, you have to wonder what's going on?
In fact, I'm talking to you right now in English. English, and so English culture and tropes (ah, like knights, and castles, and potato stew, see where I'm going with it?), seems to be a prerequisite to writing popular fantasy. I'm very sure there are lots of Middle Eastern fantasy that feature the culture and landscapes of the region, as such from all region. Yet, why do we see them as exotic? Why don't we see those works get as popular as others? Why do so many fantasy authors want potatoes and pine trees for our fantasy to feel "normal" so much that people have argued to me on these kinda posts to the point of ridiculousness? Why are tropical fantasy and science fiction worlds considered the exotic? You can count probably with your two hands, and maybe that's too much, heroes from popular franchises that come from a tropical land or world. Yet the default, the pine trees and castles, is unremarkable. Why is this so, why we see so few stories from other places popularized?
Yes, of course anyone can write whatever their want. I am also free to find such stereotypes and criticize them.
In fact, I'll just repost the paragraph that imsobadatnicknames2 managed to resume so well:
Like I personally couldn't care less if these things happened in just like. One fantasy story. Or a handful of isolated incidents. Like in that case I would agree that pointing it out would be a bit of a Cinemasins ding moment. But when it's not one story, but instead the vast majority of the fantasy genre being comprised of medieval europe-inspired settings where people are constantly eating potato stews and tomato soups and wheatever, I do care about how it reflects a very particular cultural-level blindspot in how global north people tend to see the world.

Happy New Year everyone 🥳
—————————————————————————
July 2019 - Paige POV
I was deep into my basketball workout, the sound of the ball echoing through the gym as I went through the drills with precision. My trainer standing by the sideline, coaching me through each movement — footwork, ball-handling, shot mechanics. I was lost in the rhythm of it all, my mind focused solely on the next move, the next shot, just as I did every offseason.
But then, something on the TV caught my attention.
The US 3x3 tournament was on — I hadn't been paying too much attention to it, but I always found time for basketball, no matter who was playing. It was in my blood. I just loved the game at all levels.
My focus slipped for a second as I looked over at the screen, noticing the score was a little close. Then I saw Azzi.
I froze, the ball bouncing softly at my side as I watched everything unfold. One minute, she was pushing through the defense, looking like she was about to make a play, and the next, she was on the floor. Her knee buckled awkwardly, and I saw her fall, immediately clutching it. The pain was clear as day on her face.
"Oh fuck," I muttered under my breath, the word escaping before I could stop it. My trainer immediately moving toward the TV to turn the volume up.
The announcers' voices filled the gym, sharp with concern. "All of a sudden there’s concern for the health of one of the best high schoolers in the country. We can only hope Azzi Fudd is able to walk out of here on her own which will be a good sign for all the viewers who I’m sure are holding their breath as this all unfolds." One said, the gravity of the situation weighing heavily in his tone.
I couldn’t tear my eyes away from the screen as Azzi stayed down, her face twisted in pain, tears welling in her eyes as the camera zoomed in on her. I hate when they do that shit.
I didn’t particularly like Azzi. She was too passive for my liking, not nearly as fiery or intense as I thought a player should be. Especially someone of her caliber. Plus she fouled the hell out of me for no reason that one time. But seeing her in that kind of pain? That wasn’t something I could enjoy. Despite all the rivalry, despite everything, I hated seeing anyone get hurt.
For all our back-and-forth, the trash talk, the competitiveness that had grown between us, I never wanted to see her hurt. She had just had an incredible season, her name up there with the best in the country — and now, it could all come crashing down in a second. This injury could change everything for her, just like that.
I was snapped out of my thoughts when my trainer asked, “You think she’s going to be ight?”
I didn’t answer right away. I just stood there, watching as they helped Azzi off the court, her face still contorted in pain as she limped off. It hit me kinda hard — this was a big deal, and despite everything that had happened on the court between us, I couldn’t help but feel for her.
“Yeah,” I muttered. "I’m sure she’ll bounce back."
After that the gym felt a little different now. The ball didn’t bounce as loudly, and the drill didn’t seem as important. All I could think about was how quickly things could change in an instant. How that could have been me. How it could still be me.
Later that night, laying in bed, Paige aimlessly scrolled through social media. Her feed was flooded with news of Azzi's injury. It was everywhere. All anyone seemed to be talking about was the #1 player in the class of 2021 tearing both her ACL and MCL after her incredible sophomore year. Paige had to admit, it hit her in a way she wasn’t prepared for. She had seen Azzi's growth first-hand the few times they’d played — her rise to stardom, the awards, and now, this. The thought of the rivalry they'd shared now feeling so... empty... nagged at her.
Paige knew that she’d see St. John’s again twice next year but something about the thought of no Azzi in the mix made it not as exciting. Without Azzi, there wouldn’t be any real competition left. Their games had been some of the most intense, back-and-forth battles she’d ever played in, and now that felt like it was over. There was no way Azzi would be back before the playoffs next year.
Paige’s fingers hovered over her phone screen as her mind wandered. She didn’t know why she was doing this, but she found herself scrolling through her contacts, looking for Azzi's number. They’d played together on the U16 team and Paige had everyone’s number from the team saved after they insisted on having a groupchat. She tapped it and paused, unsure of what to say, knowing if she was in Azzi’s shoes no words would ease whatever she was feeling. Still she sent a message anyway.
You'll bounce back. It's just a setback Fudd.
She stared at the message, fingers hovering for a moment before hitting send. She didn’t expect a response. What was she even doing? Azzi probably didn’t even want to hear from her, they didn’t even like each other. But it felt wrong to just leave it at that — to not acknowledge what Azzi was going through. She knew the girl after all.
With a heavy sigh, Paige set her phone down and went to brush her teeth to get ready for bed. She didn’t really expect a response back.
But when she returned, phone in hand, her screen illuminated, signaling a new notification.
Thank you, means a lot.
Paige typed a quick reply: Anytime.
Then she put her phone on the nightstand, settling into bed as she turned on a WNBA game.
November 2019
Azzi sat at the end of the bench, her leg throbbing slightly beneath the brace, trying to make sense of the game she’d just watched. Her team had been outclassed from the jump, and without her on the floor, it felt like they had no chance. Paige of course had been unstoppable—37 points, and the craziest part was, she didn’t touch the floor the whole fourth quarter. It was almost embarrassing to watch.
When the buzzer finally rang, signaling the end of the game, Azzi’s shoulders slumped and she sighed in relief that it was over. She didn’t even look at the scoreboard; it didn’t matter. She stayed seated as her teammates lined up to shake hands with the Gonzaga players. The energy in the gym was deflated—everyone had known the outcome was a foregone conclusion the moment the game tipped off.
As Azzi adjusted her knee brace and slowly stood up, she was surprised to see Paige walking toward her.
The other players from Gonzaga hadn’t thought to come over and shake her hand, but Paige didn’t hesitate. She offered Azzi a quick high five, her face a mix of competitiveness and something else. Azzi raised an eyebrow, taken aback by the gesture but unwilling to show any emotion to the blonde in front of her.
Paige’s voice was light, almost teasing. “What’s that, 4-1 now, Fudd?”
Azzi couldn’t help but scoff. “You didn’t talk shit the whole game,” she said, eyes narrowing. “You just had to come over here and ruin it, didn't you?”
Paige laughed, a playful glint in her eyes. As she turned to walk away, she tossed over her shoulder, “No comp to talk shit to on the court that’s all.”
Azzi watched her go, a mix of annoyance and begrudging admiration in her chest. Paige had a way of making things look easy, and even though Azzi hated it and hated how she acted, she couldn’t deny it—Paige was damn good.
March 2020 - Paige’s POV
I was sitting on the edge of my bed, my head in my hands, stomach in knots. My phone sat next to me, buzzing with more notifications I couldn’t bring myself to check. The championship game we’d worked so damn hard for, the perfect season we’d earned — all of it, gone. Just like that.
CoVid-19 had canceled the last game, and I couldn’t wrap my mind around it. It felt like a bad dream. The end of my high school career. Just like that, like a snap of a few fingers. Kind of funny how life is in that way.
We had been unstoppable. Undefeated. We were supposed to go out on top. I was supposed to walk off that court with my teammates, with that championship trophy, the culmination of all the hard work and sacrifice after losing last year. But now, it was all over, and I was left with nothing but this empty feeling in my chest.
It felt wrong, especially after the season I’d had. Gatorade Female High School Athlete of the Year. Gatorade National Player of the Year. Naismith Prep Player of the Year. Morgan Wootten National Player of the Year. I was on the cover of SLAM, for fucks sake. A McDonald’s All-American. I was supposed to play in the Jordan Brand Classic. The championship with my team was supposed to be the last piece of the puzzle. And now it was just... taken from me. From all of us.
I wasn’t the only one feeling it, but that didn’t make it any easier. My teammates were crushed, too. We all were. We’d worked for this. We had dreams about our comeback season, and now they were dashed. I just couldn’t understand how everything had unraveled so quickly.
It wasn’t just about the game, though. It was everything that came with it. The way everything seemed to be falling into place too quickly. My future at UConn was waiting, but it felt like the rug had been pulled out from under me before I was ready. All of a sudden, the world felt uncertain even though I knew exactly where I was headed for the next four years.
I tried not to think about the stuff I’d lose, like the last game I was supposed to play, the players I was supposed to compete against, and the milestones I was supposed to hit with my team. Instead, I kept thinking about what was next.
The only thing I could do right now was work. There was no championship trophy to hold, no fans to cheer for me, but that didn’t mean I couldn’t still prepare.
So, I grabbed my shoes and headed to the gym. I knew there was no real closure here. Not right now, so it was pointless to get in my feelings about it. Pointless to sit around and be sad. There was still a season ahead of me, more basketball to play. College was waiting now.
The gym was quiet except for the sound of basketballs bouncing. Paige was working through her shots, focused as she tested her range and worked on different combo moves. She wasn’t expecting company, everything was shut down. Her thoughts were elsewhere—on the future, not on what had been taken from her. The weight of losing her senior season to the pandemic still hung over her, though she didn’t let it show in her work.
Then, she heard the faint sound of footsteps behind her. She pulled off her headphones and turned around, surprised to see Azzi standing there. It had been about seven months since Azzi’s knee injury, and seeing her standing there in person was different from seeing her in a game. The two of them never really spoke outside of playing one another, and the awkwardness of the situation wasn’t lost on either of them.
Azzi paused when their eyes met. “My bad, didn’t know anyone was here,” she said, clearly about to turn and leave. The gym was small and only half a court and she didn’t want to deal with whatever Paige had to say today.
Paige shook her head in disagreement, clearly not phased by her presence. “It’s cool. You don’t need to leave.”
Azzi hesitated before nodding and walking over to the bench, sitting down to put on her basketball shoes. Paige returned to shooting. Once Azzi had finished getting ready, she stood up, stretched, and grabbed a ball. Paige was still shooting when she glanced over taking off her headphones again.
“How’s the knee?” Paige asked before she could stop herself, looking down at the black sleeve covering Azzi’s right leg. Her voice broke the silence, and Azzi looked at her, surprised by the blonde speaking to her.
“It’s a work in progress,” Azzi replied, her tone softer than Paige had ever heard. It was clear she was still recovering, but she didn’t seem too eager to talk about it.
Paige simply hummed in response, turning back to the basket. Neither of them said much after that.
Paige continued to go through her drills as Azzi worked on her shots, most of them swishing effortlessly through the net, though she was missing more than usual. Paige, focused as always, didn’t really think too much about what the other girl had going on. After a while of silence, Azzi turned to her.
“Congrats on all your awards, by the way,” Azzi said, her voice genuine, even if it came out a little unexpectedly and awkwardly. Paige nodded, briefly acknowledging it with a half smile. There wasn’t much more to say—her accomplishments had all come in a season that felt incomplete, and she didn’t really wanna think about that right now.
Then, on a rebound, Azzi’s ball went a little further than expected, and Paige jogged to retrieve it, having been closer as she was getting some water. Azzi watched her and when Paige came back, she passed Azzi the ball without a word.
That was the turning point. Instead of keeping to their separate routines, they began to shoot together. Azzi rebounded for Paige, and Paige did the same for Azzi. They moved around the court, each shot a natural rhythm as they stepped into the pass. The way they moved, the way they passed and shot, was effortless, like they had done this a thousand times before. Neither said a word as they shot, they were just happy to not have to run after their own rebound every two seconds. The ease between them told a story of mutual respect even though it was usually clear they weren’t too fond of each other.
The silence between them stretched on as Paige and Azzi continued to shoot. The rhythm of their movements, the swish of the net, and the soft thud of the ball bouncing were the only sounds filling the gym. They both seemed absorbed in their own thoughts as they passed the ball back and forth.
After some time, Paige’s phone kept buzzing so she glanced at the clock. She had been there longer than she’d planned, and she remembered telling Drew she’d take him to the movies. So she reluctantly made her way to the bench to take off her basketball shoes even though she hadn’t cleared her mind like she hoped. Azzi was still shooting, focused and intent, as if the ball and the hoop were the only things that mattered.
Paige bent down to untie her shoes, glancing up as she did. Azzi missed another shot, and the ball rolled off to the side. Paige grabbed it without thinking, tossing it back to Azzi with a casual flick of her wrist.
As the ball landed back in Azzi’s hands, Paige couldn’t help but notice the slight hesitation in Azzi’s movements, the way she seemed to favor her left leg a bit. Azzi took a moment before shooting again, but the ball missed again, clanging off the rim and bouncing awkwardly as the girl groaned in frustration.
Paige stood up, grabbing her shoes from the ground as she spoke. “You’re favoring your left side when you shoot now,” she said, her voice calm but observant. “That’s why your shot’s not falling. You gotta trust that your knee will be fine.”
Azzi paused, the ball resting in her hands as she processed the comment. Paige could see the wheels turning in Azzi’s mind, the realization slowly dawning on her. She didn’t reply, but Paige noticed the way she shifted her weight as she took a second shot, more thoughtfully this time as it went through the net.
Paige didn't linger, just headed toward the door. Azzi didn’t say anything more either, lost in her thoughts as she continued to shoot.
November 2020
Azzi had been wrestling with the decision for weeks. The pressure to commit was everywhere, with coaches, family, and even fans weighing in with their opinions. Narrowing her choices to UCLA, Maryland, and UConn had been easy enough—each school had its appeal.
Maryland offered familiarity. The hometown hero story would mean playing in front of her family and friends, building a legacy close to home. UCLA? Well, their facilities were out of this world, and the program was on the rise and it would be nice to be the player who brought them to the top. But UConn... UConn was something else entirely.
The school was synonymous with greatness. Azzi had grown up dreaming of wearing that blue and white jersey, playing under Geno Auriemma, and being part of a dynasty, of being a husky. There was no denying the opportunity to grow under one of the best coaches in basketball history.
But there was a large problem. Paige.
Azzi had only crossed paths with Paige a handful of times during their games, but each interaction had left a bad taste in her mouth. Paige Bueckers was an undeniable talent, but her confidence often read as arrogance. The way Paige carried herself—with that smirk and cocky demeanor—rubbed Azzi the wrong way every time. Could she really spend years as a teammate to someone who seemed so self-absorbed? She couldn’t imagine having to share the court with the girl let alone the ball that she would probably never pass to Azzi.
Azzi turned the thought over and over in her mind day after day, replaying memories of Paige’s antics during games, her posturing, the way the media fawned over her, the way she soaked it in. It was irritating. Still, Azzi decided she couldn’t let one person dictate her future. This was her dream, her opportunity to compete at the highest level, to win championships.
When Azzi made her commitment to UConn public, she felt a weight lift off her shoulders. The decision was made, and she was ready to face whatever came next—even Paige and all of her bullshit.
A couple of states away in Connecticut, Paige sat scrolling through her phone in the gym when the news broke. A tweet caught her eye, and as she opened it, her jaw nearly hit the floor.
"DMV’s Azzi Fudd, 2021 #1 Recruit Commits to University of Connecticut"
Paige stared at the screen, rereading the headline as if it would change. Her eyebrows shot up, and her eyes bulged in disbelief.
“What the fuck” Paige muttered to herself.
December 2020
During high school winter break Geno organized Azzi to come on a visit to meet the team before her official arrival. The visist had been going smoothly—almost perfectly, in fact. The facilities were incredible, Geno’s warmth and charisma made her feel valued, and the team seemed thrilled to have her there. Everything felt right. Everything except the glaring absence of Paige Bueckers.
It wasn’t like Azzi had come to the visit just to ‘officially’ meet Paige, but it would’ve been nice. Paige was clearly the face of the program now, the freshman star everyone raved about. If they were going to be teammates, Azzi figured they’d at least cross paths before she officially got to campus the upcoming summer. But so far, Paige had been conspicuously absent from all the introductions, the tour, and now the relaxed hangout in the dorm's common area.
The team was great, though. Christyn and Olivia, two of the team’s upperclassmen had gone out of their way to make Azzi feel comfortable, sharing stories about what it was like to play under Geno. Christyn was particularly funny, throwing in sarcastic comments about Olivia’s sometimes over-the-top pregame rituals.
Aaliyah, Nika, Saylor, and Piath—some of the freshmen—were a mix of energy and chaos. Nika’s personality was magnetic; she was constantly cracking jokes and pulling Azzi into the group’s banter. Aaliyah had a quieter, grounded presence, offering up thoughtful questions and laughing at Nika’s antics. Saylor and Piath added their own flair, with Saylor occasionally teasing Nika for her over-the-top expressions and Piath keeping things calm when the group got a little rowdy.
Then there was Aubrey, who was nestled between the older and younger players. She had an easygoing vibe, but there was something quietly sharp about her observations and she didn’t seem to talk much. But as the night wore on, Aubrey began to loosen up a bit and was leaning in to share a few inside jokes about the team dynamics here and there.
“You’ll like it here,” Aubrey said, nudging Azzi with her elbow. “Well, once you get used to all the chaos… and Paige.”
The mention of Paige brought the blonde’s absence into sharper focus. Azzi glanced toward the only closed door in the suite, making her assume it was Paige’s. Azzi had heard what sounded like the same game replaying over and over since she’d been in the suite coming from behind the closed door. She hadn’t thought much of it earlier, but now it felt a little deliberate that she hadn’t come out yet.
Evina noticed Azzi’s glance and sighed. “I’ll go get her,” she said, standing up and walking toward Paige’s door.
Before she could get there and knock, the door swung open. Paige emerged in a whirlwind, a granola bar clamped between her teeth, headphones slung around her neck, her phone in one hand, and her basketball shoes in the other.
“Hey, P,” Evina said, trying to stop her. “Come hang out for a bit. Azzi’s here.”
Paige grunted, barely making eye contact. “Can’t. Played like ass yesterday,” she mumbled around the granola bar before walking past everyone and out of the suite.
Azzi scoffed, unable to hold it in. It was hard not to take it personally. She didn’t know Paige well, but her quick exit felt more like an insult than anything else.
“No, don't take offense,” Evina said, noticing Azzi’s reaction. “Paige is… well, she’s Paige. You’ll get to know her. She’d live in the gym if we let her. Trust me, it’s not about you.”
Aubrey snorted from her spot on the couch. “Yeah I lost a bet and had to drag her out of there twice this week. First time, I turned the lights off. She didn’t even notice, or didn’t care. She just kept shooting until she got tired of me messing with her music and walked out.”
Azzi raised an eyebrow. “And the second time?”
“Had to practically carry her out,” Aubrey said with a laugh. “She gave up eventually, but only because I promised her Nika wouldn’t eat all the protein bars anymore.”
“I don’t eat all of them!” Nika protested loudly, drawing laughter from the group.
Azzi chuckled slightly but her irritation still lingered. Sure, Paige might be obsessive about basketball, but her absence still felt pointed with Azzi knowing the older girl didn’t like her. Azzi decided to ignore it though and as the night wore on, the team’s easy camaraderie pulled her in, and Azzi found herself genuinely liking everyone. Even looking forward to being here in the summer.
But Paige’s absence hung over everything, making it hard for Azzi to fully relax. When it got close to midnight and Paige still hadn’t returned, Nika, Aubrey, and Evina began debating who should go to the gym this time.
“I went twice already!” Aubrey said, throwing her hands up. “I’m not doing it again. I’d rather wrestle Olivia’s big ass for the remote.”
“You didn’t even try last yesterday,” Nika teased. “You just texted her and gave up and I had to go eventually.”
“Yeah, because she’s a weirdo when she’s like this.”
Evina groaned, standing up. “Fine shut up. I’ll go.”
Azzi watched as Evina grabbed her keys and headed out, her frustration bubbling to the surface again.
About thirty minutes later, the door to the suite swung open, and Evina stepped in, followed by a very irritated Paige. Azzi immediately noticed the tension as Paige, her hair sticking slightly to her forehead from sweat, strode in mid-sentence.
“It’s not that big of a fucking deal, E,” Paige muttered, clearly continuing a heated discussion the two had been having on their way back.
“It is a big deal,” Evina shot back, her voice calm but firm. “And you’re going to handle it. Now.”
Paige groaned dramatically, tossing her basketball shoes onto the floor by her room before following Evina inside. The door shut behind them, and for a brief moment, the suite was quiet.
Then came the muffled sounds of what was unmistakably yelling. Azzi wasn’t sure whether Paige or Evina was louder, but she could hear enough to piece together that Evina was getting on Paige about something.
The team, meanwhile, carried on as if this was perfectly normal, as if it was their routine. Aaliyah was fiddling with the remote trying to find a game, Aubrey was scrolling through her phone, and Christyn and Olivia were engaged in a debate over which snack brand had the best pretzels.
Eventually, the noise from Paige’s room stopped, and a few moments later, Evina emerged, her expression relaxed and a victorious smile playing on her lips. “She’ll be out soon,” she announced, as if this was some kind of accomplishment.
True to her word, a while later, Paige reappeared. She had swapped her clothes for a loose hoodie and joggers, her wet hair thrown over her shoulders. She glanced at Azzi, her blue eyes softening slightly.
“Hey,” Paige said, offering a small, almost sheepish smile. “Sorry for missing most of your visit. Welcome to UConn Azzi.”
Evina, leaning casually against the kitchen counter, watched the interaction with a knowing grin, as though she’d personally orchestrated this rare moment of civility.
Azzi blinked, caught off guard by Paige’s shift in demeanor. She nodded, her response clipped but polite. “It’s all good.”
Paige didn’t seem to notice Azzi’s hesitation—or if she did, she didn’t care. She flopped down onto the couch between Nika and Olivia with an exaggerated sigh, stretching her legs out and leaning her head against Nika’s shoulder.
“Welcome back to the land of the living twin,” Nika greeted her, her voice light and teasing.
Paige tilted her head, giving Nika a look that Azzi couldn’t quite decipher. It was like an entire conversation passed between them in a single expression. Nika burst out laughing, shaking her head as she nudged Paige playfully, making the blonde crack a smile as she leaned back on Nika’s shoulder.
The casual interaction threw Azzi off. For someone who’d seemed so intense and standoffish earlier, Paige was now practically melting into Nika. It was… strange.
Nika, Azzi had learned over the course of the evening, was one of the sweetest and most outgoing members of the team, always cracking jokes and making people feel included. On the surface, she and Paige couldn’t have been more different, yet here they were, leaning on each other like lifelong best friends.
Before Azzi could think too much about it, Christyn, who had been munching on a bag of chips, reached into the cabinet and tossed two protein bars at Paige, hitting her square in the chest.
“Eat,” Christyn ordered, her tone casual but firm. Paige barely reacted, opening one of the bars and shoving a piece of it in her mouth without a word.
Azzi couldn’t help but notice the dynamic. It was almost as if it was second nature for everyone to take care of Paige. Dragging her out of the gym, making sure she ate, looking out for her even when she seemed pissy about it.
It was strange to witness but oddly endearing picking up on how much they cared about each other. Azzi still wasn’t sure how Paige fit into the easygoing, tight-knit vibe of the rest of the team, but seeing her now—grumbling about snacks while slouching into Nika’s shoulder—it was clear there was more to her than Azzi had originally thought.
Azzi had planned to be the bigger person today and put all their bad blood to the side. But she couldn’t shake the feeling that Paige had been avoiding her, and it left a sour taste, so she kept her mouth shut.

Boyfriend Taehyung
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pairing: Kim Taehyung × Gn!reader (established relationship)
Genre: fluff, headcanons
Request: can you write dating taehyung headcanons?
Warnings: he's an idol, mentions of marriage, skinship
A/n: last post of the year, how we feeling 💃🏻 | daily click
Jimin ver. | Taehyung ver. | Jungkook ver.
Tumblr media
‌Before dating, you both were already friends
‌So looking at you both is just like seeing two best friends having fun around each other
‌And honestly, that might be the cutest thing of your relationship
‌He is currently taking you on random dates
‌"There is this place where you can take care of ducks. We should go there"
‌Okay??
‌He truly just sees anything and he's like "oh I should go there with my partner"
‌Just because wherever he goes he needs you by his side
‌That leads me to my next point
‌He always includes you
‌In conversations, no matter with whom, he'd always say "we"
‌Someone randomly says "taehyung, would you like to go to this new cafe" and he's like "We would love to go"
‌Because he's always including you
‌Since he started dating you it's never simply "I", it's always "we"
‌And if you both go to some place where there is live music
‌Like a restaurant or you were just walking down the street and someone is playing guitar there
‌Be ready because he will call you to dance
‌Always with a knowing/teasing smile, he will hold your hand and just starts slow dancing with you
‌"But what about the people watching" nah he's not thinking about it
‌He's only thinking that if he has any opportunity to have you close, he will have you close
‌Also sings to you randomly
‌If we're talking about a scenario where he's an idol, he would like to keep the relationship private
‌He doesn't think the world should have a place in your relationship. This is about the two of you only, and it should stay like this
‌He'd only want to make the relationship public the moment you get married, because then he'd need to explain the sudden ring on his hand
‌But he sets boundaries very quickly. Not the fans, not the media, not the company, NO ONE will dare to put themselves between the two of you
‌You become the topic of his songwriting
‌Makes a whole album for you fr fr
‌If you allow him, he'd put one of your voicemails in the song. It becomes his favourite song
‌TAKES PICTURES OF YOU
‌He has like a few albums of photos of all these pictures (there are a lot of them)
‌This guy is a kisser
‌You will be kissed every day every hour, be prepared
‌Gives you a lot of hand made gifts as well
‌And gifts for no reason at all, he just wanna cherish you just because
‌He also gives you flowers
‌And takes you to meet his family the moment the opportunity arises!!
‌He can't wait to see you with the people he loves the most
‌And he's also incredibly happy when you're with the boys
‌Although I have this feelings that he would take you to meet the most important people to him the moment you become his crush
‌Silence with him is very... Comfortable
‌There is no need to fill the silence, it's not awkward
‌I feel like you can just turn his brain off with him and simply enjoy
‌This is just a very fresh relationship you know
‌His love is kinda like a sunny day
‌It's bright, warm, it makes you happy...
‌And it's also simple
‌You never have to overthink around him
‌His love also heals your inner child
‌Loves when you visit him at work
‌The boys are never able to tease him because he doesn't care lmao, he's just happy you're there
‌He also LOVES when you call him "my boyfriend"
‌He's just so proud of it lol
‌And if you call him "my husband", he's ready to risk it all and just propose to you on the spot
‌Talking about that lmao
‌I feel like he'd be the fastest of the boys to get married
‌Six months into the relationship and he already bought a ring
‌He's just waiting for you to be ready

oops i accidentally wrote a review for zelda II: the adventure of link
(originally posted to Cohost on Feb 22, 2024. you can ignore this if you want, i just wanted it archived somewhere before that site disappears)
Finally beat Zelda II for the first time last night (I forced myself to finish it before starting Splatoon 3's Side Order DLC, because I knew if I didn't push through to the end of the Great Palace THIS time then it'd be years before I tried beating it again. This is probably my 4th or 5th attempt at this point). Not that this is a particularly hot take by most people's standards, but I don't think it's all that good, at least from a gameplay standpoint.
I don't regret playing it though, because I think I'm finally able to put my finger on the stuff I actually disliked about it vs the stuff that was honestly fine, or even (very rarely) actually good? I'm kinda fascinated by it, honestly. Sequels where they immediately screw around with the first game's formula (to mixed results) are neat! FE Gaiden is another example that comes to mind (hey they should give Zelda II the Shadows of Valentia treatment, that could be really cool actually).
Obviously Zelda II has a reputation for being kind of a rough experience. It's an NES game, and NES games are often susceptible to being frustrating, buggy, hard to control, or overly punishing. Sometimes, all of the above! And for what it's worth, the original Legend of Zelda was a tough and sometimes very cryptic experience as well. But I feel like the two games are challenging in drastically different ways, and I think TLoZ ended up being the formula that was retained in the long term primarily because its method of challenging the player overall did a better job of inspiring curiosity and exploration. Despite narratively being a direct sequel (with a really badass story premise that is unfortunately not really conveyed at all in-game) Zelda II took a different approach to nearly every element of the original's gameplay, which is a pretty bold move I suppose. Whether or not it succeeds at anything is fairly subjective, but it's undeniably had a lasting impact on the series, as well as the people who grew up with it (and then they went on to make some really excellent mid-2000's flash games inspired by it that I frankly enjoyed a lot more than this... and also a weirdly solid licensed Adventure Time game on the 3DS? I should go back and play that sometime, it's really fun).
Where to start with this...? Uhhh, the EXP-based leveling system where you choose what stats to put your points into is interesting! It creates a risk-and-reward system for fighting enemies instead of avoiding them, whereas in most other Zelda games besides BotW/TotK, the only reward for killing monsters is "they are no longer bothering you while you solve puzzles, and also sometimes they drop rupees/hearts/ammo". It also introduces a bit more player choice in what areas you'd like to get stronger in first, which is cool! I just wish it actually mattered in a way that let you feel powerful for even a moment. Instead, leveling Life (which is functionally just defense) is never enough to actually make you feel like you can afford to take a hit - the expectation seems to be that leveling Attack, Life, and Magic is something you do purely to keep up with how badly every single thing in this game wants to stomp you into the ground and soak up a million hits and waste all your magic. You CAN skip out on leveling one stat to prioritize another, or even try to evade tough combat situations entirely, but if you aren't leveled enough and in the exact things the game expects you to be WHEN it expects you to be, you'll immediately bump into some new asshole who jumps out of nowhere and can cut you down in 2-3 hits. Leveling doesn't make you tangibly stronger, it merely keeps the game barely playable.
This actually ends up being the core problem I have with Zelda II's design, far more than just the combat being clunky and overly punishing or the levels being visually samey and super hard to navigate. In most Zelda games (and also in a lot of other RPGs!), you get a better sword or a new power or item, and it opens up exciting new options for both exploration and combat. In Zelda II, you level up or earn a new item/spell, it's useful for maybe 20-30 minutes, and then it's immediately nullified. Wow, you got the Fire spell! Now you can finally deal with Tektites and Basilisks (which are immune to all other attacks) on the way to the next area! Well, I hope you had fun with that, because Fire doesn't work on most things you run into afterwards.
Easily the biggest game-changer is when you unlock the Downward Thrust sword technique, and finally have another option for combat besides just crouch-hopping and poking monsters with a dull butter knife. It's satisfying to use, it looks cool (by this game's standards), and it even has some utility for crossing hazards or defending yourself against swooping enemies! Cool! Unfortunately, they don't let you play around with that for long either, before nearly every enemy you see starts rolling up with helmets or shells that make them immune to attacks from above, and you never really get anything like that again (the Upward Thrust exists later, but it's far more situational and frankly not very fun or intuitive to use). Rather than feeling like you're being given tools to overcome challenges and stay above the difficulty curve, it feels like you're constantly just slightly underequipped for everything (even if you grind to earn extra stat levels) and any edge you're given is swiftly taken away from you. (Except the Reflect spell, which is ALWAYS a banger after you get it because it makes your shield Actually Do Its Damn Job after nearly every enemy starts shooting projectiles you can't block. Good work, Reflect spell.)
I feel like I grew up hearing plenty of people talk about the overall difficulty of Zelda II, though most of the complaints about its puzzles were surface-level jabs about the short cryptic NPC text, and none of that prepared me for just how ridiculously obtuse its mandatory puzzles/secrets can be. I genuinely have no idea how anyone would EVER find the Life spell - pretty much your ONLY source of healing outside of towns, since there are no hearts to pick up in this game - without some kind of guide. I was FURIOUS when I finally looked up where to find that lady's mirror and discovered that you have to walk into one of the houses, go over to the table that looks EXACTLY like every other table in every other house in the entirety of Hyrule, crouch, and press B, and you'll just pull the mirror out of nowhere. This type of interaction does not exist ANYWHERE else in the game and there's no in-game hint to indicate that you should try this. Absolutely maddening.
This and its predecessor are both games that seemingly expect you to have the physical manual on hand to help you find secrets, but at least in the first game, the way the game was designed was consistent enough that you COULD feasibly find your way to the end of it without a guide. Bombable walls in dungeons always being located in the center, things like that. It had rules and it could generally be trusted to follow them. Zelda II, in comparison, has a final level (the Great Palace) in which there are numerous rooms that look IDENTICAL and if you make one wrong turn you can go through the entire [very difficult and dangerous] dungeon on a path parallel to the one you need to be on, only to hit a dead end and be able to see the spot you're supposed to be reaching on the other side of a wall. Except you would also never KNOW you need to get there, because it looks like another dead end full of monsters but there's actually a completely invisible hole somewhere in the floor over there that drops you into the hallway leading towards the final boss. Also there is no map. TLoZ had a map. I don't know why this game doesn't have a map. Possibly because if you try to look up maps online, most of the dungeons feature non-Euclidean spaces? Idk, even a Super Metroid-style grid map would've done wonders here.
The combat is... fine? I truly don't understand how anyone thinks it's GREAT though. Zelda II is kind of like a version of Castlevania where you don't have a whip and instead have to stab everything at extremely short range, and also sometimes enemies have shields so you have to crouch sometimes to stop them from blocking you. It feels tense and high-stakes but only because, as I mentioned earlier, you really cannot afford to take stray hits in this game. Most enemies chew through your health at an alarming rate, even with the Shield spell active, and there's almost no way to replenish it unless you use a Life spell (which costs a huge chunk of your magic, possibly softlocking you if you end up in a place that requires other spells to progress). I got better at the combat over the course of my playthrough, but I never felt like I got good at it - most of my victories against strong enemies felt like pure luck and there were rarely consistent strategies for success. All of this combined with the fact that Zelda II has limited lives (and I mean LIMITED - there are only six 1-UPs in the entire game, which can each only be collected once) and getting a Game Over anywhere outside of the final palace will send you all the way back to the starting area, and it makes for an incredibly stressful experience. Even making use of savestates to lighten the fear of death can only do so much to improve it.
Overall, I think that Zelda II is a game that has a lot of really promising ideas, but then just absolutely flops when it comes to the execution. I didn't have a better way of organizing these but here are a few examples of elements I DID particularly like, even if they didn't always stick the landing:
I like the idea of the RPG leveling system in theory, but wish it was more empowering in practice and actually let the player make meaningful choices instead of just being required to survive. Choosing to hold off on a Life upgrade and instead save up just a little longer to boost your Attack feels awesome, until you time one of your inputs wrong and get destroyed. In a game with better-tuned difficulty and combat, this system would be great!
I REALLY like that Zelda II introduced a magic system to the series! I think it's cool as hell to have Link learning and casting spells to protect himself, solve puzzles, and exploit enemy weaknesses, instead of relying purely on items. (It's honestly weird to think that a system I associate so strongly with classic Zelda gameplay has only actually showed up in 4 of the games?? I guess you could consider the runes/hand abilities in BotW/TotK to be kind of like modern spells, or the slowly-refilling energy gauge in ALBW to be the most recent iteration of a Magic Meter, but both are highly debatable. Anyways I just think they should let Link shapeshift into a fairy again, that was cool.) But most of the spells in this are fairly situational and your access to magic refills is so limited that you rarely have the freedom to experiment with the spells' secondary functions (hey did you know the Spell spell turns most enemy types into slimes? that's wild. I wish I'd known that sooner).
The overworld functioning like a traditional JRPG, with top-down exploration broken up by semi-random enemy encounters, was something I honestly didn't hate. It's a little weird for Zelda, sure, but I could see it working well to support other systems in a more polished game. Overworld encounters that switch you into a type of gameplay other than turn-based JRPG combat are something I've always been fascinated by!
Anyways, weird game! I'm glad I finally got closure so I could figure out how I personally feel about it, independent of whatever the random youtubers I watched as a teenager thought. And now I never have to play it again :)

not just an agreement.
pairing - jinx x fem!reader
cw - suggestive, teasing, jinx calls reader sweetcheeks and sweetheart (it suits her sm idk leave me alone), flirting, fluff(?), intimacy, yearning(?), making out, jinx is handsy and bold w reader, reader is a lil shy, def got a little carried away w the plot, oopsies
request from anonymous - Hiiii! I have a reqest for a Jinx X fem mechanic reader? a more romantic/suggestive plot, with the mechanic maybe helping Jinx with some weapon upgrades and they're flirting back and forth
w. count - 2.1k+
a/n - i acc really like this, lmk your thoughts! kinda proofread but lmk if theres anything wrong:))
at first it was just an agreement between you and silco.
he was concerned about the amount of time jinx was spending alone, and figured she needed a companion. preferably someone with the same interests and talents as jinx herself, since she could be a little picky about the people she surrounds herself with.
she had a little reputation of hurting her companions in the past because of her hallucinations, and even when she didn't have them -- she just loved messing with 'em.
this was in retaliation, insisting that she was better off alone.
reason being, silco was a bit hesitant in trying to find her a companion again but knew she needed it.
but all that hesitancy faded the minute he had met you.
there was a lineup of people that were waiting to see if silco would hire them.
word got out that silco needed a mechanic, and people started lining up immediately.
they had met up at his hideout, everyone that volunteered would be blindfolded and taken by one of his minions to not give away his place.
while some were hoping the position would get them more shimmer or more power and recognition in the undercity, you just wanted to make weapons or fix things.
you were hoping you could do more -- go beyond with whatever supplies he had. you were sure he had to have good shit, considering he and his partner made shimmer.
he could see the slight glimmer in your eyes that interested him.
"this one."
his thick voice echoed throughout the walls, his men following protocol and leading the other people out. which they showed disappointed as they walked out with slumped shoulders.
you were a bit shocked, looking around before your eyes landed on silco in his chair again, "what's your name?"
"y/n," you replied, taking another glance around the place. you had never seen so many of these things in one place at once - and with no damage done to them.
silco stood up from his chair and walked over to what had caught your eye.
"well, y/n. truth is..." uh oh.
your mind immediately went to worst case scenario. maybe you should of thought this through, considering you were trying to work for silco, of all people.
silco seemed to sense your sudden alertness and gave a slight chuckle, "don't worry. i'm not going to hurt you," that seemed to ease you up a bit as you took two weary steps away from him... just in case.
silco gave a smirk as he sat back down in the chair to make you feel a bit better, "smart one you are. but, truth is... you're not going to just be a mechanic for me. you're going to be a... companion to my daughter, jinx. in return, you'll get special benefits - allowance and a place of your own."
you felt your heart drop to your ass.
what?
companion? daughter? jinx?
that's what the arrangement was at first. you were weary at first because of the things you had heard about her, but as time passed and you got more comfortable with jinx, you didn't really need the 'special benefits' anymore.
you especially gave those up after jinx had found out about your little 'deal,' as jinx had called it, and nearly went on a rampage with her 'pow pow' machine gun.
the only thing that really became a non-negotiable was lending a place to sleep.
....as silco may or may have not grown a soft spot for you as well.
"...hey! you still here with me?" jinx waved her hands in your face, helping you out of the little memory you were remembering, wondering where you would've been if you hadn't volunteered.
you were sitting on a chair, with jinx standing as she messed with her trinkets, your head resting on your arm that rested on her little desk she had.
you shook your head slightly, "no, sorry. i was just thinking, what were you saying?" you stood up, showing more interest in whatever she was doing.
you were helping her figure out how she could power up one her new little trinkets that she had created.
jinx put a hand on her hip, "awh c'mon, you mean you didn't hear my entire rant of how i discovered this to wooorkk?" she dramatized as she started walking in little circles.
you gave a slight laugh, sitting on her desk, putting one hand on her desk and tilting your head on your shoulder a bit, "awh, c'mon, you can't repeat yourself? i wanna know what you had to say," your tone was teasing as you copied her words.
and god jinx had a love/hate relationship with the way it made her stomach flutter.
you always knew how to unconsciously reassure her.
jinx stopped her circles with her back turned to you before she swiftly turned around, using her shimmer to suddenly appear right in your face before you could register she even turned around.
something you learned early on with jinx, she didn't know personal space at all - at least not with you.
in the last couple months that you were working for silco, yes you were making him weapons, but you started to take a liking to jinx.
and unbeknownst to you, jinx was starting to take a liking to you too.
jinx gave a slight smirk at the way you backed up on the desk, your ass on it slightly, both of your hands came behind you to lay flat on the desk.
in the time that you two spent together, you both learned plenty about the other. while you learned that jinx needed more reassurance than others and things of the sorts, jinx was observant of the way you'd get nervous whenever she got close to you.
of course she learned other things about you but she was fixated on how you'd act when she would get a little too close to you.
no matter if it was to observe whatever weapon you were fixing or making - or to just mess with you - she'd see the way you suddenly get quiet and stammer on your words a bit.
and you suddenly felt how close she was to you, her body wasn't pressed up against you, but your bodies would graze one another ever so frequently.
in a way that had you both breathing a little heavier, both of you looking at each other's lips.
jinx suddenly leaned in more with a tilt of her head, making you lean more back, your entire ass almost nearly on the desk.
her hands went on her desk behind you, enclosing you against her.
she had a such an evil grin on her face - she knew what she was doing - as she began speaking and telling you again what she discovered.
"...so i basically figured out that, to make this go boom! i need to get that 'ol gemstone i have in my gun to make it explode..." she trailed off as she noticed you were staring very heavily at her lips.
not even noticing her hand inching closer and closer towards your hip that rested on her desk.
your eyes widened slightly when you felt her take another step closer, making your legs part and practically forcing you to sit on the desk properly.
"whatcha' lookin' at, sweetcheeks?"
you felt speechless.
you weren't going to deny the recent tension you had felt with jinx recently, in the last two months. but you never thought you'd end up in this position with her.
you thought back. the fleeting touches, the way she'd look at you when she was explaining something, the way she would make excuses to get close to you, always wanting touching you.
it all started when you two had decided to have a sleepover.
you were supposed to have gone back to your place hours ago, but jinx had told you she felt lonely and she wanted you to stay the night.
at first, it was just like helping a friend, it was something harmless.
'you were only helping a friend out,' you'd try to convince yourself in your head.
at least you thought.
you two were giggling like fools as you painted poorly done portraits of one another on a time limit.
you both sat on opposite sides of each other, a box holding up the canvas's.
jinx had her tongue out in fake concentration as she rushed through it, eyes flickering to the timer every now and then.
"3...! 2...! 1...!" jinx counted down and once you heard buzzer go off, you put your brush down and put your hands up.
you laughed as you looked at jinx and then the portrait, paint-covered hands coming up to your mouth to cover it, folding over your stomach in your seat at how ridiculous yours looked.
jinx put her hands on her lap, "it can't be that bad, lemme see!" she reached over and grabbed your canvas.
she barely gave it a glance before she set it back down, "... moving on, look at mine! i think i did, pretty good," she turned it around, leaning on it slightly and looked at her hands like she just accomplished something, blowing her hands for affect.
and honestly she hadn't.
it was probably just as bad as yours.
that innocent face portrait, turned into finger-painting the little hut you created for her - to decorate it.
a comfortable silence between you two, and it was a rare moment where everything in jinx's head was quiet.
jinx was on the other side of the hut, looking at you decorate it before looking back at what she was doing.
"is it okay if i paint something on ya?" she said it so casually you thought you misheard her.
you both started finger-painting her little hut to decorate it.
"huh? what?" you asked her with furrowed eyebrows.
jinx chuckled, "can i paint something on you? you don't have to say yes, you just look... like you'd make a good canvas," and lord have mercy, did that make your legs wanna give out.
you gulped, swallowing hard at the feeling of your throat going dry at her words, "yeah, sure. uh- how do you want me to sit?"
you began busying yourself with moving some things around so you two had space on her floor where her blankets and pillows were.
"just lay down for me and i'll take care of it, 'kay?" jinx began grabbing the paint and brushes she needed.
she ended up painting a very pretty floral design on your shoulder that went all the way down to your wrist.
and maybe got a little distracted and drew little doodles on your stomach once you fell asleep, the brush strokes lulling you to sleep.
the whole thing was quite intimate, and after that happened., something was different between you.
you weren't sure if it was just you that felt it, you were sure you were the only one until she started doing things that had you thinking otherwise.
like now, how you're so tempted to lean in and kiss her, just let her hands roam your body. her eyes were very obviously looking down between your eyes and lips.
she gave a slight huff of amusement, "knew you didn't have it in you, sweetheart," she had a slight smirk as she backed up, walking away, feeling a sense of victory at how tongue tied she had you.
that was basically all you had to know as you suddenly walked up to her and grabbed her by the shoulder, turning her around and grabbing her face and connecting your lips with hers.
jinx let out a slight moan at the sudden feeling, not hesitating to close her eyes and put one hand on your hip and the other on your waist, she pulled you into her.
you loved the way her lips felt on yours - the way she would slightly open her mouth to mold hers with yours felt so euphoric.
at first it was slow as you took slow steps back as you felt one of her hands wandering down to your ass, grabbing the fat of it and giving it a light squeeze.
you let out a slight noise against her lips when feeling her back you up more and having her hands trail under your shirt to your lower back, "mm,"
you could feel her smile against your lips at your reaction.
and before she could put you against her desk once more-
"jinx!"
you both pulled away with flushed faces, looking in the direction of where the voice came from.
silco was calling for her again.
jinx looked back at you with a grin, hands coming up to your waist and giving it a slight squeeze before letting you go, "and for the record, i do have it in me."
you watched as jinx got her gun and gave you a little chuckle, watching as she walked down her ramp, "oh, is that what that was? tryna prove a point, even though you get all nervous when i get too close to you, sweetcheeks?" her voice faded as she walked off to go and see what silco wanted, braids swaying in a way that had you entranced with the way she walked.
you huffed but couldn't stop the smile from making it's way to your face.
you didn't know what the hell this was, but it was not just an agreement anymore.

The man just couldn’t pull ok?
so when he got himself a girlfriend and she was bad?..
Wally was NOT going to tell his friends shit. He know they would ask him
“how did U pull HER???” it wasn’t like his friends had no faith in him, they just know he couldn’t pull. Once when he and dick went to a coffee shop, a girl was sitting across from them. Wally asked for her number cuz he thought she was cute….
she said “Ew, your friend can get my number tho.”
Dick brings it up like once a month….
one day y’all were on a date night, and his friends pulled up…..and he asked u to get in the back sit… and to put a blanket over your self.
__________________
“What” you giggled, your right hand hovering over your cheat.
”ik Ik it’s stupid but.. I haven’t told my friends about us.” Wally muttered his hand rubbing the back of his neck. “ we.. have been dating for 2 years and you haven’t told you friends about us!” You yelled at him
who doesn’t tell their friends about their girlfriend. That’s just fucking stupid. And on date night. Do u know how many date nights y’all had to cancel because he was saving the word.
TOO FUCKING MANY
And now his asking you to get in the back sit cover yourself with a blanket? What. The. Fuck.
The. Fuck. Is. Wrong. With. Him.
“you joking?…right.” As he sakes his head no, two cars pulled up next to Wally’s.
“pls [reader] next date next I promise, no matter what happens I won’t let hero work get in the way.” He eyes the looked so pleading.
But..No.
you came to have good time with your boyfriend. Hell it was fucking date night. And if he thought that you were going to climb in the back seat? Because he didn’t want his friends finding out?
He could go fuck himself.
“No, Wally I am in a 300 dollar dress with red bottom heels. I Will not be going any were near that fucking back sit, so fuck you.” You declined. Grabbing your coat and purse.
As you opened your door, and stepped out. You could feel 6? Perhaps more.
Eyes traveling across your body, some wandering to other parts.
___________________
“Who was that?” A familiar voice questioned. “Fuck off dick.”
“Dude, step outside the car”
as Wally stood outside of his black car. He looked around him, and all he could see were the questioning gazes of his friends. “Go ahead. Ask your questions”
“who was that girl?”
“pls tell me that was your cousin”
“How old is she?” “does she know about yk?..?” “Who was that fine babe”
“Can ya give me her number?. Or try and hook us up?”
one at a time people!! Wally complained.
“ok ok uh was that you gf?.” Wallys best friend Dick asked. “yes”
a bunch of aw’s were muttered, but not like the aw cute ones. More like the disappointed ones. __________________________

I kind of want to try your method of posting wips a snippet at a time while writing them, but on the other hand I am nervous about it. Can you give me some advice?
I've been trying to nail down the mixed feelings, and this is what I've got so far:
for:
it will get eyes on my fics faster, and I can show off what I've written sooner, instead of needing to finish a whole chapter
it will encourage engagement both in reacting to specific posts and in asking for more
it will be more chances for people to be intrigued and want to read the whole fic
against:
what if I do it and nobody cares?
til now I've been releasing fics a chapter at a time and it would feel weird to change that. inertia and all
what do I do if/when I change something I've written and already posted a snippet of?
it feels weird to post them on my writing blog, which currently only holds finished chapters (and fanart), but if I post them on my main, I feel like they'll get lost and/or I'll miss reactions in my busy activity channel. Where should I post it to? Should I make yet another sideblog?
in direct response to your listed mixed feelings, in my personal experience of writing this way:
for:
it will get eyes on my fics faster, and I can show off what I've written sooner, instead of needing to finish a whole chapter: yes it will, and it feels great! and personally it also helps me keep momentum and helps soften the sting if I drop a fic/chapter later and people don't have much to say about it. I KNOW it's good, other people already told me they liked it!! no, I'm not gonna throw out the whole story because of one mediocre reception, SHUT UP IMPOSTER SYNDROME AND GET BACK IN THE WRITING TRENCHES.
it will encourage engagement both in reacting to specific posts and in asking for more: yes it does, and WAY more people consistently (and more gratifyingly!) engage with me since I've made a habit of posting this way, especially when they're especially interested in a specific WIP over my other ones, and a lot of people just seem to be more engaged and invested in my writing in general. or at least more willing to tell me that they are, if nothing else, haha.
it will be more chances for people to be intrigued and want to read the whole fic: yes it will, and if you post larger scenes and tag them, then more people are likelier to find you/your writing than would if you only post one chapter in the tags however often you update those. also, if you have a fic-specific WIP tag that you link to, it's very easy for people who are just discovering the WIP to go back and catch up all at once ( or for people who aren't into it to blacklist, if that's a concern, as opposed to them feeling like they have to unfollow/block you ).
against:
what if I do it and nobody cares? good news: they probably won't care! at least to start. that's just kinda how it is, to start. I get a lot of engagement because I am REAL prolific and do my best to be responsive, plus I've been updating this blog and in this specific fandom pretty consistently for over a year, and also have also been in online fandom spaces on and off for, like, legit twenty-five years at this point. so I am just very used to being in these spaces, and I also have readers who've followed me for a decade+ or even since I was an actual literal TEENAGER in at least a couple cases, so like, they're already kinda invested in my writing, haha. there are people following this blog who not only read my Inu-Yasha Miroku/Sesshoumaru fanfic back in the day in the Pit of Voles but also still REMEMBER reading my Inu-Yasha Miroku/Sesshoumaru fanfic back in the day in the Pit of Voles, to say nothing of everyone who found me through AtLA or the MCU or the Witcher ( or so, so much Star Wars meta, the Star Wars meta has also definitely been a thing ). also I update my blog pretty consistently and I do writing memes that reward the people who play with me with new content and more progress in their fave WIPs, and also they're technically "voting" for what they wanna see more of, so that also adds to them feeling engaged/invested and me feeling motivated/energized, because they feel like they've affected the growth and progress of the story ( which they have ) and I feel like they're enjoying the story and genuinely appreciate it ( which they do! ). so everyone wins!
til now I've been releasing fics a chapter at a time and it would feel weird to change that. inertia and all: yeah that is the sunk-cost fallacy trying to fuck you up and you can and should tell it to fuck off. if you try it and you don't like the change, you can just stop doing it. you're free! no one can stop you!! hit the bricks, do your thing, the past is gone and it is NOT in charge of your ass! your ass is all yours!! whatever, we do what we want! I am in fact giving you explicit PERMISSION to do what you want.
what do I do if/when I change something I've written and already posted a snippet of?: then you've changed something! if it's a major change, you can repost the updated scene or mention you're making a change in a separate post or just say there's been a significant change when you post the chapter and therefore people who've already read the WIP posts might wanna reread it, but personally I change and tweak and fiddle with stuff I've already posted all the time. usually it's just bits of phrasing or formatting or adding in little details to round stuff out or correct mistakes, or to clarify things that confused people or that I forgot about, but sometimes it's adding multiple paragraphs or even additional little scenes. it's absolutely a thing I do and a thing that I consider fair play. you're literally posting "work-in-progress" excerpts, it is in the NAME that stuff might/will change or be adjusted. shit, if you feel like it, throw the whole story out and start over with a 2.0 WIP tag!! art is meant to be fucked with!!!!
it feels weird to post them on my writing blog, which currently only holds finished chapters (and fanart), but if I post them on my main, I feel like they'll get lost and/or I'll miss reactions in my busy activity channel. Where should I post it to? Should I make yet another sideblog?: the past is gone! you are free!! it's a writing blog that is for your writing and you can write whatever you want on it. the rules are made up and the points don't matter!! if you want a WIP blog too, you can totally start a WIP blog too, but you also don't have to feel obligated to bloat your sideblog collection or to have to go to all the effort of building up a brand-new following for a brand-new blog when there's already people who followed another blog of yours specifically for your writing. it's your writing blog. it's for your writing. write on it how you please!! if you're SUPER-concerned about the change, include a specific tag on all your WIP snippets that people can just blacklist if they only wanna see your full finished updates. for example I use "rintalk" so people can skip my random talky posts/asks if they wanna but also won't accidentally be filtering out anything they DO wanna see from anyone else on their dash; they can specifically avoid just mine. so like, maybe "octo WIPs" or "nb WIPs" or just whatever you're into would work for you, or just something like that.
unrelated to your for/against: posting stuff like this is not an approach that'll give everyone the same results or even WORK for everyone, obviously, but it works for me because again, I'm prolific, responsive, tend to follow my readers' interests, and have been doing this a lonnnggggg time and have built up an audience both from past fandoms and in specifically DC fandom. and also I'm super, super ADHD. definitely also because of the ADHD. there is . . . there is just so much ADHD lol.
but yeah, like, I'm pretty sure I've been updating pretty consistently for the past . . . what, year or so of DC-hyperfixation? something like that?? I've also published over 300k to AO3 in that time and GOD knows how much more word count I've put up on Tumblr, so like . . . tl;dr, I absolutely think you should give it a try and see if it works for you/if you like it, I just also wanna include the caveat that you shouldn't be discouraged if you don't get an immediate return on or big response to said try. like, I dunno what your followers are like or how much they talk to you, obvi, but I personally had to kind of . . . cultivate, basically? I had to cultivate the communication and the back-and-forth, it didn't just happen immediately. we have cultivated, all of us here, hahaha.
for actual practical excerpt-posting advice, generally speaking, the best start I've found for starting out with posting a WIP as you write it is to take, like, the starting scene of the fic/chapter up until either a narratively-interesting/satisfying end point ( or better yet, a cliffhanger ) and post that as a WIP excerpt in the relevant tags. then you're likelier to introduce the story to new people and bring them by your blog to see more, and they'll come in both primed for and LOOKING for WIP excerpts. then, you know, you can post subsequent scenes or bits in chronological order, ideally. personally when I do WIP Wednesday or anything like that, I don't tag little posts like those in the main tags, just with a WIP tag specific to their story ( which, like, obvi you know I have those, haha, I know you've been around MORE than long enough and even if you hadn't pretty sure I already mentioned them somewhere up there anyway, I'm just being thorough ), but anything that's pushing 400-500 words or longer gets fully tagged with ships/characters/fandom/etc and gets chrono/non-chrono links included in the post and then sent out into the world as my lil' story ambassador, haha. just, you know, use a cut or at least a "long post" tag if it's much longer than that, because like, Tumblr manners and all, hah.
ummmmm . . . so yeah idk how much of that was helpful for you, obviously, but if you have follow-up questions or anything, feel free to hit me up, I'm always down for those and I'll do my best to answer!

caregiver ! ellie headcanons . . .
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
tags : first time regressing, cursing, no outbreak au, selectively verbal reader, gender neutral reader
the first time you regress around ellie is by accident after a bad day. you’re over at her house — you barged in and then proceeded to raid her fridge and commandeer her bed for a nap :3 — and just wake up tiny tiny tiny.
you wake up and you’re a little weepy and ellie is surprised and tries to ask what’s wrong and that just makes you more upset and she’s kinda panicking cause she doesn’t know what to do
“shit dude are you okay? oh wait, hey. don’t cry it’s alright!”
you don’t answer so ellie coaxes you out from under the covers and she makes you sit up so she can get a good look at you — she’s holding your face in her hands trying to get a good look at you and see if maybe you’re warm from a fever?
“hey, what’s going on?” she’s worried sick about you but all you can do is whine and lean into her hands and that’s okay, ellie pulls you into a hug because it’s all she knows to do and you just kinda sway for a moment.
after a while ellie pulls away and asks if you’re hungry cause now she’s all protective and worried about you and just wanting to take care of you. you shrug cause you’re not really sure right now and maybe start sucking on your thumb / fingers which ellie notices but doesn’t say anything because it seems to sooth you.
“well i’m fucking—” and by now you’re all wide eyed and still quiet and you’ve got tears drying on your face and for some reason ellie feels like maybe she shouldn’t be dropping f bombs around you right now. “i’m freaking starving.” she amends.
ellie tries to get up but you whine again and she panics for a moment but she realizes you’re holding onto her arm really tight and maybe you just don’t wanna be alone right now? “it’s okay i’m just going to the kitchen, you wanna come?” you nod so ellie takes your hand.
ellie cannot cook for shit unfortunately unless it’s breakfast food so now it’s about three in the afternoon and you’re gnawing on your fingers while ellie makes eggs and pancakes.
“those taste good?” ellie asks nodding at your fingers and you blush but she’s smiling all silly so you know she’s just playing.
“look pretty good to me,” she continues, and this time you smile a little too and that makes ellie smile even more!
anyway ellie helps you eat because you’re still a little shaky, she lets you hold the fork but every other bite she wipes your chin or your cheek.
“good?” she asks after you’ve had a few bites and you nod your head enthusiastically.
“i’ll tell joel you like them, he taught me everything i know,”
if you were big you’d mention that they were box mix but since you’re feeling a little spacey you nod very seriously because joel should now ellie’s is a good good learner and joel is a good good teacher.
when you’re all done eating ellie asks if there’s anything you want to do but you just shrug again but don’t let go of ellie’s hand even for a second so ellie takes the two of you to the couch.
ellie makes a million suggestions on what to do but you shake your head at every one until eventually you mumble “game”
and ellie is surprised cause this is the first word you’ve said all afternoon.
“you want to play a game?” you shake your head and point at ellie’s gaming system.
“you want to play a video game?”
you frown again and shake your head cause words are hard but you just want ellie to understand!
it takes a second but eventually ellie says “you want to watch me play?” and you nod really quick cause you’re glad she got it!
ellie gets her system set up and you refuse to let go of her arm. you’re not sleepy anymore but you snuggle into her.
it’s kinda tough playing essentially one handed which leads to a lot of frustrated cursing that ellie tries to curb which ends up just making you laugh — normally that would upset ellie ‘sore loser’ williams but just this once she’ll make an exception.

I loved this show when it was in first run, for reasons I (a baby bisexual) did not understand at the time. I adored Michael & Joey's relationship. Looking back on it as an adult, part of what I liked was that it (almost certainly unintentionally) casually depicted bisexuality and aromanticism, and also part of what I liked was that it also (...probably more intentionally) depicted a world with much lower homophobia and missing the AIDS crisis.
You're supposed to read Michael & Joey's relationship with each other as a couple in some ways, but not in others. They're practically married (the show makes this point several times, most clearly in "Joey's Mother-in-Law"), but they're (probably) not having sex: they're having sex with women, but they're Super Weird about it -- this is partly Sitcom, partly Dated Sexist Nonsense, but also partly Inherent To This Particular Family Setup. It ends up feeling to me very much like two men who aren't...really...sure how to deal with feelings for each other that are sexual/possibly romantic when they clearly feel attraction to women. Do you know how many bisexuals go through this. For years. For decades. Sometimes I, a bisexual who has been out since the 1990s, ask myself if I am "really" bi. It's a fucking brainworm that so many of us have. This show, in its own way, laid that problem out before me as if someone out there understood it.
As for the aromanticism, Joey says in the pilot that Marcy is the last woman he loved. He has a whole relationship with a different woman not because he loves her but because he wants to dad her kid. This man is sexually, but largely not romantically, attracted to women. (Is he in love with Michael romantically? I don't know! Maybe! He's definitely in Kinda Obsessed with Michael, though.)
And then....it's in a kinder, gentler, less homophobic world where no one is dying. And that's....almost certainly just a product of it being a sitcom from the 1980s. You weren't going to address those topics in a sitcom about "what if the Odd Couple had to raise a kid lol", but as a result, for me, I get a combo of Powerful Nostalgia Bomb and Everything is Beautiful And Nothing Hurts from this show. It's not that other characters don't react to two men raising a kid together, because they do -- but mostly they are a little puzzled about it. No one is hateful. No one attacks them over it. The only times that judgement of the relationship is more than a passing event ("Joey's Mother-in-Law" is yet again an example), the person being weird about it is dealt with firmly and clearly.
It has its flaws (....1980s sitcom....) but oh. it has its joys.
(I refuse to acknowledge the final episode, though: it's up there with HIMYM for betraying the show before it. I'm convinced that was the network just being like "well. we can't have the show's finale be. they continue to live together." in my heart they continue to live together. they don't talk about it ever until Nicole leaves for college and then they both panic and agree obviously. they can't split up. where will Nicole go for winter break if Michael moves out? Joey panics and has sex with way too many people about it while drawing 3 million pictures of Michael in his sketchbook. Michael dates like normal but feels weirdly sad every time he kisses his dates. It's fine. It's all fine. Nicole comes home for Thanksgiving and is like. Dads. What is up?? Joey's art is depressing and Michael is working 80 hour weeks? Maybe you two should get a dog. Three weeks later Joey comes home with a three-legged golden retriever and Michael has a sobbing breakdown into its fur and falls asleep in Joey's bed. No they do not get it together after this, they are both disaster bisexuals, this goes on for SEVERAL more years.)
“My Two Dads” was Simply Ahead of its Time: A Short Essay by an Offspring of Same-Sex Parents
Tumblr media
In 1987, the show “My Two Dads” premiered on NBC, staring Paul Reiser, Greg Evigan, Staci Keanan, and Florence Stanley. Nicole Bradford (Keanan) is a 12-year-old girl whose mother Marcy Bradford dies suddenly, and she is “willed” more or less to two men her mother was once in love with, Michael Taylor (Reiser) and Joey Harris (Evigan), who were lifelong friends before they fought over Nicole’s mother. Despite attempts at blood tests, the paternity of the child was never confirmed, and after a rocky start, Michael and Joey agree to live together and raise Nicole as a family.
What we have here is a simple, relatively family friendly, prime-time sitcom that shows a very positive interpretation of a kid with same-sex parents. And it is delightful.
I am speaking openly as a queer person raised by two mothers (now four w/step-moms). When I decided to try this, I was bracing myself for the absolute worst most offensive thing I’d ever seen.
And I swear to God, what I got instead is one of my new favorite shows of all time. The characters are lovable and well-rounded, the acting is great, the humor is actually funny, and, whether this was intentional or not, is one of the most progressive shows of its time.
I keep seeing people throwing around the word “homophobic” with this show, and I’m here to politely and firmly disagree with that. Instead, I will opt for the word “dated.” “My Two Dads” was still a product of its time, so I firmly believe many of the choices regarding Joey and Michael’s dating life were made to appease the censors. I never felt like any decision was made in malice to target the queer community. (Not to mention, I could/will make a whole LIST of reasons why Michael and Joey are 100% in love, if not an active couple, despite many attempts to convince the audience they are straight.)
I spent a good chunk of the show laughing to myself and saying “it’s like homosexuality doesn’t even exist in this universe” for how much NOBODY cares about Nicole having two dads or questioning why the dads live together. (Them being potentially gay is only questioned ONCE in the series.)
In the 90s and early 2000s, people never shut up with the questions once I told them I had two moms. I somewhat think this exclusion was also a writing tactic, not wanting Nicole to have to constantly repeat what the audience already knows.
There are jokes that haven’t aged amazingly well, but I feel like it was much more that the writers were ignorant as opposed to being active bigots.
I also really appreciated this show’s depiction of a kid who has a great and loving relationship with a parent she may not be or isn’t biologically related to. Nicole doesn’t care who her biological father is, and loves Joey and Michael equally. Again, as someone with two moms, I get really defensive over the notion that someone isn’t your real parent unless their DNA matches yours. (Side note, always say “biologically related to” as opposed to “REAL parent” whenever asking someone about their parentage. Please. It hurts every time.)
If I admittedly had one qualm about the show, I’d say it hasn’t aged amazing in terms of sexism. Throughout the whole show, it always felt like the women Michael and Joey dated were either complete jerks or bimbos. With the women they finally end up with being boring and rushed. And they also at one point have a female boss, and…it’s pretty bad. Nicole and Judge Margaret were great (Judge being my 2nd favorite character, behind Michael.), but other female characters not so much.
But overall, I really do love this show. It’s one of those really nice warm & fuzzy shows, too (Think “Full House” with slightly funnier writing. Yeah, I said it!). I really wish more queer viewers would try it.

Hotwife 29 and impatiently waiting for my special New Year’s Eve party later… pretty tough to endure 😓
hubby is a tour musician so of course he has a long gig planned at a really good venue for his business….but problem is he won’t be home until really really late ⏰ like 3 AM :(
don’t know how many of my husbands buddies will stay up to come to our house for the after party, but I do know how much fun I am planning on having with whoever leaves the show early(ish)(12-12:30) and earns that sneaky hour or three alone w me in our place. Haha
he takes forever leaving the shows and leaves me waiting just like this video needin attentionnnn
🤫 My solution and my resolution for 2025 is to tell all my favorite regular guy friends that go to hubbys shows that they should really make sure to get back to our place EXTRA FAST afterwards 😈🤐
every single one of them I tell would never tell me no cuz I’m a little flirt always w them knowing I have permission to do whatever I feel like doing w no matter to hubby…
How many do I ask before it’s too many and they all judge me? Do I worry? I could get conservative kinda and only ask a few to keep it discrete(ish)…. or….
I could go wild for NYE bc there are so many and usually a few plus ones/carloads per his regular fans/buddies. do I go full send and get like 10-20 of them to all drench me? 🤤😵😵‍💫

I know you support all Scarecrow ships (at least I think you implied that) like your Scare-bat thing. Respectfully I think it's kinda damaging to the character if you view Crane/Scarecrow as this complete softy. It doesn't make him scary, it makes him just a big teddy bear. "The most feared person in Gotham city. I am a symbol of fear". Yeah you're that but can be all kissy kissy with Riddler and SOME HOW BATMAN? Crane being asexual or at least not trying to pursue romance sounds more in character because he obsesses over fear, not love. I don't think people should be shamed and harassed for what they like, but I hope the public view on Scarecrow doesn't change to all softy because of Tumblr people who want to make every villain ever a teddy bear.
Being open to most ships, and ship positive doesn't mean I view him as a softy. Sure, I have my fair share of fluffy headcanons but I can also go angsty and dark. I really don't get the connection between ships and Crane being soft. I, personally, feel most Crane ships would be toxic and troublesome the majority of the time. He is a mentally ill villain who is not getting the help he needs, and a relationship won't magically fix that.
I don't claim to understand the Scarebat ship, or most ships actually. I do agree with you on the ace thing, I'd love some ace representation. But I'm ship positive because this blog is meant to be safe for everyone, barring the obvious bigots.
I feel like you're more worried about the character becoming a teddy bear then who he's shipped with. This is valid, but you gotta realize people are gonna write what makes them happy regardless if it makes you happy. There is room in the fandom for all, I believe at least. Some people cope with softer stories while others want dark and gritty. Neither one is better than the other.
And you always got canon, which aside from children's media, can get very dark. I mean, look at what Arkham Shadow did for Crane.

JJ and John B have shared everything since they were 8
~~~
this is just a lil something i was thinking about this morning and figured i could write to ring in the new year. it’s kinda short sorry😭
Smut!!! MDNI
Tumblr media
they’d figured it out very quickly - how to share things. john b shared with jj because he could, jj shared with john b because he had to. they both knew this and were perfectly fine with it.
the first time jj slept over at the chateau they shared the bed. jj was supposed to sleep on the couch but there was a thunderstorm roaring outside, and the noise terrified him. jj poked his head into john b’s room seeking comfort and before he knew it he was waking up, cuddled so closely to john b in his small twin bed that it was hard for them to decipher where one ended and the other began. it became instinct at that point. every morning that they woke up together (which was almost every morning, as long as jj snuck back into his home before his dad awoke) john b would give jj his clothes to wear, and jj would give john b a hat to borrow. they shared a plate at breakfast when food was low, shared toothpaste, and of course all of john bs toys were jjs as well. and as they grew older they shared bigger things, such as their vehicles, beers, their surf boards, girls.
so it should come as no surprise that they had to share you. john b never understood how jj bagged a girl as pretty as you, but he couldn’t think too much on it right now. couldn’t think at all really. your back was pressed against his chest, arm reached behind you to jerk him off. your legs were spread wide, jj’s strong hands pinning your thighs to the bed as he ate you like a man starved. you didn’t think he could get any deeper, but john b reached out anyways, placing a firm hand on the back of jjs head and pushing, forcing jj to press even further into you. you wanted to pull away, worried that the blonde couldn’t breathe, but by the time you could grasp a coherent thought you were cumming. your juices spilled all over jjs face, meanwhile john bs hand kept him pressed into you, giving the blonde no where to go, not that he would’ve pulled away if he could. your hand kept stroking john bs thick cock even as your orgasm rushed through you, and he soon was cumming too, release spilling over your back. it was lucky your long hair was pulled up into an updo, otherwise it would’ve been ruined by john bs massive load.
you were still awake, fighting the aftershocks of your orgasm, but your eyes were fluttering shut. jj took note of this once he was able to pull back from your center, reaching a hand up to swiftly but gently tap the side of your face. “hey,” he mumbled, “don’t forget about me sweet girl. papa j needs some loving too.” he sealed the deal with a kiss, allowing you to taste yourself on his tongue before he pulled away. you giggled at his words, body going lax as he picked you up, laying you back onto the bed on your stomach beside john b. jj spread your legs, squeezing your thighs as a silent way of saying keep them open. john b laid down beside you, hand gently caressing your cheek and murmuring words of praise as jj stripped out of his shorts. your eyes had closed once more, relaxing under john bs gentle touch and kind words, but abruptly snapped right back open. jj has his thick cock in his hand, smacking the heavy tip against your clit. you moaned out, making the blonde chuckle. “oh baby,” he began, “i haven’t even done anything yet.” but it didn’t matter. because then he was reaching up with his other hand to grab your hip, the hand on his cock pushing it forward, forcing his way into your gummy walls. “fuck mama,” jj panted out, clearly wanting to say more but being unable to after feeling your wetness around him. the blonde began moving immediately, heavy sack smacking against your clit with every thrust. you were soaked, arousal spilling out all over jjs cock. his eyes rolled back into his head, hips slamming harder into yours. john b reached out, grabbing onto jjs hand to pull the boy back into reality. the blonde smiled gratefully, looking at his best friend, before his head turned towards yours. “‘m gonna fucking ruin you.”
I do think after the movie Leo would reflect on his behavior of kind of always lashing out when he gets criticized or w/e and turn into like a slightly gentler version of that (something something leaders should know when to listen to people and when to go lmao no get this fucker out of here) but those are like the ONLY times I can see him actually considering pleasing people and even then he wouldn’t become a complete doormat about it, bro absolutely knows when to put his foot down about things
honestly i feel like people who make leo shut down and close himself off post-movie kinda lost the plot LOL i wish they kept that deleted scene with him and raph and talking about leadership properly in, because its a very nice resolution to their arc and would line it out a little better
really i think the point was that he's becoming more open and softening instead of hiding behind his usual coping mechanisms, because he had to look past himself and realize they really WERE hurting the people around him and putting his brothers in danger. his desire to prove himself had a blast radius. he really does take after his dad like that [gestures at turtle dega nights]
and i think there's still ways to incorporate how fucked up that all was without denying the positive impact it had on leo's arc like,, grappling with almost losing him is of COURSE going to mess them up. in retrospect i think they'd KNOW he had to, and that it was the right thing to do, but that's what hurts about it. i always just love playing around with the question "how do you blame someone for doing something like this to themselves when there was no other way?"
i could really just never see leo as a doormat unless you break him baddddddd. which i suppose is possible LOL you go guys!! idk i dont read most leo-centric stuff (especially not things where donnie's the one unpacking his issues because i always feel like it sacrifices so much about him), i tried out a lot of it early on and didnt enjoy myself and then just didnt rlly go back
