Rn they're just vibing in there, I gave them a jewelry stand to look at and a switch to play with, along with a Squeakoid to keep them company, but I'd love to have them in anything but the critter carrier they're in :(

Hello, hi! I read your year in review post, and it inspired me to come say hello. I fell off Tumblr a few years ago and have tentatively crawled back over the last few months (honestly, it was the Goncharov craze that got me nostalgic for Tumblr again - I love Tumblr memes). I was really happy to see that you were active here and still writing fic for a new fandom that I also love!
I wanted to let you know that I'm a huge fan of your work and still am even after all these years! Your writing is so thoughtful and detailed, with a warmth and sincerity that makes it far too easy to consume a lot all at once, like a big mug of hot chocolate that you finish too quickly. Not just your creative writing, but your nonfiction blogging on fandom and health accessibility and travel too! I still go back and re-read some of my favorite fics you wrote when I'm feeling the itch to indulge in an old fandom! I had a big Muppet deep dive because I loved your fic so much, and now I go to work every day at a desk covered in Kermit stickers!
And I should have told you all of this a while ago. I regretted not reaching out for a long time. But now I have! And I hope you're okay with me being all mushy and earnest (how cringe!) out here in the open. If you don't want to post a response, I'm fine with that. I'm happy to just say hi, and I hope that my message brings you some joy/pride/whatever you need right now. Wishing you Merry Holidays and a Happy New Year!
Sorry for the delay! Life has kind of been a lot lately!
This is very sweet to hear, especially because... yeah, things have been a lot, and I've been struggling with feeling really down on myself. So thank you. Hearing that my fic feels like that makes me really happy. ;;
My dad literally just emailed me about a Bunsen & Beaker ornament set he found, so clearly I'm still into them. (I... bought it, too. haha. This is not even my only Bunsen & Beaker ornament.) The Muppets are a real comfort canon for me, so I'm really happy that I was able to share some of that with you.
Honestly, there's something that feels very... idk, genuine about writing and posting fanfic for me. I think fiction only works if you really give yourself over to it, whether that's getting really engrossed in the emotions of fictional characters as the writer or as the person reading it. I don't think it's cringe to be earnest about your feelings. What's the point, really, in being anything but earnest about them? I think it's nice to be able to be genuine about these things. So thank you for being genuine with me. I know that can feel a little vulnerable sometimes.
As for your second ask, which I also saw, anyone is free to DM me whenever they want. I'm not always... super great at responding promptly, especially right now. But yeah, we may not be friends yet, but talking is the only way to get closer. :)
(And you'll have to tell me what the new fandom we share is!)

Ratting
So, ratting! We’ve been out three times since I last updated and I don’t have the energy to write three separate updates so I will do one big update, hitting the highlights. As usual, discussion of hunting rats under the cut.
OUTING ONE
- There was a Looney Tunes moment where Kermit and the patterdale were chasing the same rat from opposite directions and nearly collided while it did a backflip over their heads and escaped into ivy.
- New area! The most disgusting alley ever! We walked in and saw rats just running around on the ground in broad view. Trash everywhere. Also, stuff that comes out of humans that you never want to see on the sidewalk.
- So anyway my dog and I are the designated flushers and that’s how I found myself standing knee-deep in trash, hitting a pile with a stick and getting splatter on me. On the plus side we flushed a rat that the other dogs drove back towards us and Kermit caught and killed it. It was our only catch of the night, though we flushed at least fifteen.
- We also worked some bushes outside of a church and some dudes stopped for some running commentary on how our dogs are Satanic hellhounds. There sure are people in the world.
- I bathed Kermit and the water ran off of him black.
OUTING TWO
- I just want to note that my friend with the patterdale is fast as hell. She can give chase on a rat and be fast enough that her dog catches it. Like holy crap. Impressive every time.
- We went back to the disgusting alley and I was again the one to go stand in the trash piles flushing rats for the other dogs. I’m also the bin kicker. I am quite good at it, if I do say so myself.
- Kermit learned how to crawl under dustbins. He really does fit places the other dogs don’t.
- Our young dogs got some great experience working along the more experienced ones.
- Total rats caught was five, with nine flushed in total.
OUTING THREE
- We went back to our old stomping grounds after about three months away and it really paid off. We pulled in our personal best haul of eight rats. Each weighed at least a pound.
- Some really, really good teamwork from the dogs. At one point we had Kermit and the pointer on one end of a set of ornamental bushes, and the patterdale and other two dogs on the other end. We were putting a lot of pressure on two rats, driving them back and forth towards each other. Eventually one holed up and the pointer dug it up, pulled it out, and dispatched it. Super satisfying!
- Kermit and the patterdale worked a bush in tandem, each digging at a hole while one of the people put her foot on the third hole. The patterdale was able to drive the rat to Kermit, who grabbed it, but he was unable to pull it out. It eventually shoved right past the person’s foot and got away.
- There was some pure chaos where we had three rats being driven between clumps of ornamental grass. Just them running back and forth while dogs were driving them around. Kermit did a beautiful grab and was able to dispatch one. And the patterdale chased down two separate rats. Super fun.
- And we had another Looney Tunes moment where a rat was flushed directly towards Kermit and he and I ended up chasing it in circles for like ten seconds before it was able to get away.
- Someone asked us if our dachshunds are ferrets. When we said no, they are dachshunds, they asked if we were hunting ferrets. No... we’re hunting rats... There sure are people in the world.

Clever Van Paint Jobs That Turn Heads and Spread Smiles
In a world where traffic jams and monotonous commutes are a daily reality for so many, there's an undeniably valuable place for a little unexpected humor. In the realm of vehicular innovation and personalization, a cleverly painted van can turn an otherwise ordinary day into an opportunity for a good chuckle. Whether you're a car enthusiast, a daily commuter, or simply a fan of outlandish and inventive vehicle customizations, this post is geared to take you on a technicolor ride through some of the most clever and creative van paint jobs that are bound to turn heads and spread smiles.
The Mobile Masterpiece Makers
Carry Van Gogh, a play on the name of the famous painter, and the theme of famous artists brought to life on the canvas of a van, these roving masterpieces not only pay homage to artistic genius but also showcase a keen sense of humor. Picture 'Starry Night' as a bumper sticker or 'The Scream' with a whimsical twist as the hood ornament — these eye-catching transformations are more than just paintings; they are vehicles of expression and conversation starters on the road.
Decaldee Doodle Magic
Moving Drawing Boards on Wheels is a theme that brings the van's surface to life with doodles, scribbles, and comic strips. These vans are a testament to the idea that artists can turn anything into their canvas. With designs that make it seem like the van is stepping out of a child's sketchbook or a comic strip, the Decaldee Doodle Magic certainly does more than just bring paint to life — it brings laughter and wonder, making everyone feel like a kid again.
The Wacky Racers
In a world that sometimes seems a little too serious, a splash of color and a dollop of whimsy can work wonders. The Wacky Racers theme takes its cues from the zany races - cartoonish and outrageous, these vans make it look as though they've burst straight out of the imaginative world of The Muppet Movie, with Miss Piggy as the driver and Kermit riding shotgun. With their over-the-top designs and unconventional, yet surprisingly effective, aesthetic, the Wacky Racers are a wild and hilarious sight to behold.
The Chromatic Chameleons
Ever-Vanishing Vistas is a theme that captivates with its ability to change the scenery as the van changes direction or time of day. With paint jobs that incorporate reflective, color-shifting pigments, these vans are like moving holograms, creating mind-bending effects as they zip down the highways under the changing natural light. They capture the essence of 'never a dull moment' and are the epitome of a traffic conversation starter wherever they go.
In the Fast Lane to Fun
At the crossroads of utility and amusement, these mobile art exhibits truly demonstrate the ability of creativity to transcend the everyday. These unique van paint jobs aren't just about personal expression; they're about sharing a little slice of joy with the world. They're a reminder to not take life — or the traffic — too seriously, and to find beauty and humor in the unexpected. Whether it's a pun emblazoned on the back or a surreal scene along the side, these out-of-the-box van paint jobs stand as mobile beacons of creativity, spreading smiles from one destination to the next.

Appearing live on stage in new holiday looks, Anna, Elsa, Olaf and Kristoff each bring something special to the gathering. Festivities culminate as Elsa adds sparkling finishing touches, transforming Cinderella Castle into a shimmering crystallized palace – a look that will remain throughout the evening. Bringing this spectacle to life is no small feat, as lighting designers, video technicians, composers and even a full orchestra worked together to create this new holiday magic. Debuting Nov. 7, “Frozen Holiday Surprise” will occur nightly throughout the holiday season. Also, families and kids of all ages can enjoy the most wonderful time of the year at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, a separately ticketed event offering warm-hearted fun at Magic Kingdom on select nights Nov. 9-Dec. 22. Making Magic: Walt Disney World Holiday Services The magic makers at Holiday Services neither sleep nor slumber. Okay, that may be an exaggeration, but this team of designers, decorators, and other professionals ready more than 600 trees and 1,700 wreaths and hang nearly nine miles of garland each year. Santa would be proud! How long does all this merry-making take? Almost a full year. As soon as one holiday season wraps up, the Holiday Services team begins preparing for the next year. Whether they’re creating new items or making sure that existing decor remains merry and bright, our band of specialists ensures that the entire resort sparkles. Comfort & Joy: Gingerbread Galore at Disney Resort Hotels If guests have ever gazed in fascination at the larger-than-life gingerbread displays that appear each holiday season at Disney Resort Hotels, they’ve probably asked themselves how long it takes to create such wonders. Planning and preparation begin a full seven months ahead! The culinary team at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa starts mixing the fragrant dough for its life-size gingerbread house in May ahead of a two-month curing process. Individual shapes, from shingles to Mickey cookies, are baked and decorated throughout the summer and then stored for “construction” in November. The house itself takes three days to build. This year, guests can once more enjoy these stunning works of art in six Disney Resort Hotels, including a new display at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. Look for displays – no doubt, with a few new surprises – at these locations. - Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge - Disney’s Beach Club Resort - Disney’s BoardWalk Resort - Disney’s Contemporary Resort - Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa - Disney’s Yacht Club Resort Delicious Doings: EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays At EPCOT, cast members have been dreaming up the menu and testing new recipes for EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays presented by AdventHealth. Planning for this popular event starts a year in advance. The team focuses on creating dishes and drinks that celebrate the diversity of holiday traditions with comfort foods that inspire warm memories. Ensuring that each guest has a delicious encounter every time is top of mind for the team, so thorough testing is imperative. And, once that’s complete, it’s on to production. During last year’s festival, the culinary team baked more than 250,000 cookies in just five weeks for the event’s Holiday Cookie Stroll. Be sure to mark calendars for Festival of the Holidays, which begins Nov. 24. This year will bring several “firsts” to the festival. The all-new fireworks-and-laser spectacular Luminous the Symphony of Us will debut Dec.5, 2023. And, with EPCOT being home to The Walt Disney Company’s 100th anniversary celebration, guests will find beautiful holiday decor at the park entrance commemorating the Disney100 celebration. More Merriment: Holidays Around Our World At Disney Springs, guests can shop, dine, and play amidst a wonderland of beautiful decor and an incredible array of dining options beginning Nov. 10. Be sure to save time to visit Santa Claus at Once Upon a Toy, and don’t miss the Disney Springs Christmas Tree Stroll presented by AdventHealth. Nineteen Disney-themed trees will be on display throughout the shopping, dining, and entertainment district. Plan at least one nighttime visit to experience snowfall in Town Center for more unforgettable memories. Cheerful decor and festive flotillas are some of the holiday highlights at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. In addition to meeting with favorite Disney characters and Santa himself, guests can interact with a Merry Menagerie of life-size, artisan-sculpted animal puppets daily on Discovery Island. The park’s iconic Tree of Life also awakens each evening with a colorful tableau of wintry tales accompanied by a musical score. With so much to see and experience, there’s no end to the delight that holidays inspire at Walt Disney World Resort. Plan your visit today. *Guests attending the event can request to join the queue beginning at 6:00 p.m. Each Guest can request to enter this virtual queue no more than once per event. This is only available for Guests on the day of the event they are attending, and their specific event tickets must be linked to their My Disney Experience account in order to join the virtual queue.
