Album review: “untitled unmastered.” by Kendrick Lamar

I’ve already listened to several Kendrick projects and really liked them! This one is most stylistically similar to TPAB since it’s unused demos from it, which is awesome because I really loved the music from tpab.

The sort of unfinished feel of the album is very interesting. It also doesn’t have a theme all the way through like his other albums do since it’s just demos, but there are still some recurring themes which I thought was cool. It’s not really something I’d listen to just as an album itself, but might listen to some of the tracks on their own.

Overall I did enjoy it and it was cool to hear some of the ideas that might have been incorporated into TPAB but didn’t quite make it.

Seeing reddit argue that untitled unmastered is Kendrick's worst album has me feeling some severe cognitive dissonance I cannot be the only one who thinks it's incredible 😭😭😭
