ORV question! I started reading the webtoon and it mentioned KDJ having his face censored; was this in the novel too and I just forgot somehow? Why censor my beautiful baby boy :(
hey! yes, without getting too into it, kim dokja's face, to a certain extent, cannot be properly perceived. why is this? what's going on? well wouldn't we all like to know
#for what it's worth it is rather subtle in the novel! much like much of kdj's unreliability as a narrator#and the sneaky things the novel as a whole is doing with worldbuilding genre reception and playing tropes against reader expectation#kdj's facelessness is something that initially manifests in throwaway comments#then elevated into an ongoing bit (“hyung the face isn't everything”)#and then it's not until the end that you think back and go. oh. OH. OH SHIT THAT WAS THERE FROM THE BEGINNING HUH#I know I made the mistake of brushing off a lot of detail when I was reading orv#for a multitude of reasons that we don't need to unpack right now. but genuinely sing-shong hid a lot of details/threads/clues from ch. 1#it's kind of upsetting sdlfkjsldfksdj#all your stories belong to us
