Our girl Janeway deserves to be loved and held, my personal opinion is that it should be done by Chakotay (J/C all the way man) but that’s neither here nor there…

Just watched Voyager Season 5 Epiosde 1 Night when the kids mutiny against Janeway's self sacrificing and the whole scene is awesome but I love when she sits down next to Chakotay and just mutters fondly 'they knew before I came in, you told them!'and he doesn't even try to deny it.
I love them your honour.
I also now want to know how the conversation with the bridge kids went. Like, did Chakotay and Tuvok just stand there and go ok so Janeway has a suicidal plan. I'm not going to tell you what you should say or do but we need to prove to her we don't want to lose her. Them just nodding solemnly and filtering out without a plan just 'keep mum alive' vibes.
Or did the kids immediately start planning what sort of things would work and B'Elanna scoffing at something saying 'Janeway wouldn't go for that Tom you need to be blunter!' And Seven agreeing before they all turn to Chakotay and say 'you sir need to stand there and look stoic if you please. She won't listen to you but she will to us.'
I want to KNOW.
Also her post-void conversations with them all. Just gimme all the extra please.
(Honourable episode mention to Tom convincing Seven of all people to join him in Captain Proton)

I need the one from Elogium when Kes locks herself in The Doctor’s office and only opens the door for Janeway and runs into her arms full speed.

You know what I want to dig into .... Star Trek Prodigy S2 .... and here is going to be my first post on it. (spoilers under the cut)
As a fan of Star Trek since I could even remember ... I have always been drawn in by the characters of Trek. I could go on and on about the way TNG, its movies, and the TOS movies were there for me in my formative years and helped me throughout my life. Then go on again about how I found the other shows as I got older and did a complete Trek watch in 2012 exposing myself to ALL of Star Trek and finding myself enthralled by the USS Voyager and its Captain Kathryn Janeway.
For me, I was already thrilled when Prodigy was announced because as a kid no show for kids ever really appealed to me but a Star Trek show that would have had me running for the television every single moment it aired (not that I wasn't doing the same for TNG). The announcement that Janeway was going to be in it was honestly just a bonus. Kathryn Janeway was my guide, my beacon in the dark ... and to have her be that for the children made so much sense to me.
Season one dropped and aired in the final weeks of my fathers life, its second half of the season coming in like a beacon in the dark of my grief and depression during that time. Janeway once more was there for me, and along with her were the amazing children leading this show. Each of these children faced their own difficulties and challenges, they grew and learned to become something more than they were at the start of the season. Waiting for season two was difficult but it was easy when I knew that it would be worth it. And it was ...
Since I finished season two the hug between Beverly Crusher and Wesley Crusher has sat with me. Its brought me to tears, to smiles, to feeling as if the world can and will be okay again. I saw the family I viewed as my space family reunited on screen once more and immediately thought of my father ... of my own mother (who is still around and also shares a love a Trek just as my father did). The found family within Prodigy reminds me so much of how I myself found a family within Trek as a child, watching Beverly Crusher and seeing her as a mother on my screen. Watching Wesley and listening as he received guidance from the crew around him, wondering what it would be like to be him. TNG was my space family - Beverly my chosen space mom.
And Prodigy brought the reunion I needed to see before my eyes all while crafting another family on the screen that I - as an adult - adore and love so much that I view them as family once more.
On top of all this ... the show repeatedly gave mention to Picard in various ways (not just the series but also the Captain). I love the way that Admiral Janeway makes a comment about promising Admiral Picard she won't lose Voyager-A. The way that when she talks to Beverly it becomes "Jean-Luc" she asks about, professionalism slipping just a little (something that for Janeway is very integral to her character), and when she is called back to Starfleet because of the Mars attack the first thing she asks is about Admiral Picard.
To me, it is clear that its not just the kids that have a found family and its not just Janeway Voyager crew that is a found family being called back to .... Janeway's devotion and family being Starfleet is being echoed within the way she speaks of Picard. The way that she tells Wesley to go to his mother. I just love the subtle nuances being put into the show centering on the bond of family. Not just those of blood but those you chose. The sheer love, devotion, care, and so much more shown within the characters and between the various characters says so much. I greatly appreciate what Star Trek Prodigy is doing with this particular theme. And I cannot wait to see where it goes from here.

I just can't get over this scene. It's short. It only happened once. It so dark you might miss it. It is the first scene that made me alert to the intimacy and desire janeway has for seven bc WHO does this except someone in love, pining and lost, needing a comfort that hasn't yet been identified and THIS, this is all she knows to do with all these feelings that have come upon her so suddenly.?? She can't get any information from this, she is just needing to be near her, it's so romantic i just want to cry. Kathryn needs a Seven hug! I think about this scene alot. It's her comfort alcove. I'm always thinking about this.

Hoping for something like this in the final episode of Picard:
Seven, quietly to herself, watching the hopefully soon to be Picards cuddle Jack and each other: “They risked it all, for their love, and for their child”
Off screen voice: “And you think I brought the fleet here to rescue Picard? He doesn’t need it, he and Beverly and their friends have had things well in hand since long before I was ever a captain. But a parent never leaves their child, never stops protecting them, no matter how old they get. And she never will.”
Seven turns shocked eyes to Kathryn Janeway, who envelops her in a long hug as tears slide down Seven’s face against the shoulder of the woman she now knows thinks of her as her child. She lets a breath out that she didn’t know she was holding, as she realizes she can tell the soon to be Jack Crusher-Picard that she didn’t need to find a new family because the one she thought she had all those years ago, still exists.

Tom didn’t know what to do or what to say. Pacing back and forth in his quarters, he looked around and his eyes landed on a photo. It was of a baby Tom with his mother. Picking it up, he looked at it and felt his stomach drop. It was supposed to be a family photo, but his father didn’t show, as he later learnt was normal for him.
Tom didn’t want to be like his father and he felt he had already failed. Those three lizard babies, they were just left to fend for themselves.
He wanted to go back and protect them, let them know he wasn’t like his father.
Exiting his quarters, Tom walked the corridors until he found himself outside of Captain Janeway’s quarters. Hitting the button to announce his presence, it didn’t take long before he was standing in front of her, studying her face.
“I don’t know about you, but I feel like shit. We shouldn’t have left our children behind,” Tom blurted out, needing to get it off his chest.
“I feel the same way, Tom. The decision to leave them was made, and now, I wish I had countered that order. I feel horrible,” Kathryn replied, sighing as she looked out the window at the stars going past.
“I just wish I could do something for them. They’re defenceless, they’re babies,” Tom began, feeling the emotion build up.
“Tom,” Kathryn said, walking over to him and hugging him tightly. “I feel the same way, my moral compass is screaming at me and I feel awful.”
Holding Kathryn in his arms, Tom closed his eyes and sighed. “I can’t leave them.”
Pulling back, Kathryn looked at Tom. “I can’t either. No one left behind. Come with me, we’re going back for our children.”

☕️ tell me about Crusher/Janeway
mali anonymous why would you do this to me you know how i am about these two
I just.........have a lot of love for them. Janeway needs someone to be on her case to eat and sleep regularly. Beverly enjoys the difficult ones and has a thing for captains, and I like to think she wouldn't let Kathryn get away with not taking care of herself.
Plus, I really need someone to give Kathryn the hugs she so clearly needs, and the support to not shut down every time she gets dealt another shitty hand. And someone to tell her to knock it off stop being a martyr.
I think Beverly would be up for the challenge of loving her, but also it was never a challenge to love Kathryn. That part has always been easy; it's all the outside trauma that can make it hard.
I can't wait to finish the marathon fic I'm working on so I can reread it as much as I want

Janeway and Kes
I write a lot of this sort of thing, and now I've written something that I don't mind sharing. So...not surprisingly, it's Star Trek and hearts. In part based on some events from the Voyager series, the rest is my brain filling in many blanks.
It's nearly midnight, and Kathryn knows she should be asleep, not gazing at the stars, wondering when she'll see Mark again, what he's doing, whether he's worried or writing her off as dead. The view of constellations outside the ship is beautiful until, suddenly, she sees visions within them of the Caretaker's array being destroyed--heralding the horror of their indefinite stay in the Delta Quadrant. She closes her eyes quickly to force the vision away, though she's failed to truly shake it for months. In the morning, there will be meetings with the senior officers and bridge duty, and tonight there's a pile of padds to read through. Despite her insomnia, though, she can't bring herself to be productive. Her door chimes once, jolting her out of her ruminations. "Come in," she says, rising from her couch. Kes is on the other side of the door, looking sheepish. Kathryn notes what must be the Ocampan's answer to pajamas--a fitted but utilitarian earth-toned top and long pants. It's quite a contrast to her own pink satin nightgown--an article of clothing she'd likely feel embarrassed to be wearing in front of most of the other members of the crew. "It's so late; I'm so sorry," Kes stutters meekly. "No, it's lovely to see you, Kes. What's on your mind?" Kathryn quickly asks, grateful for unexpected company so kind and non judgemental. "Would you like something to drink?"
Kathryn uses the excuse of replicating Kes' pear and spinach juice to replicate more coffee for herself, though she fears that doing so negates any chance she had of sleeping well. "Please, sit down," she says, motioning toward her couch. "Captain...I know you want everyone to be treated equally," she begins, seemingly with some hesitation. "Of course, dear," Kathryn insists, brows furrowed. She places the drinks on her coffee table and takes Kes' hands. "Are you and Neelix unhappy? What can I do?" she asks, searching the other woman's face. "Oh, no--we're fine," Kes ensures her. "It's the EMH." Unthinking, Kathryn pulls back. "Well, he is a hologram," she points out, suddenly feeling as though she's speaking to a child. "He's a sentient being," Kes corrects, fire behind her soft eyes. "He is talked about in third person by those he is assigned to care for! They ask me, an inexperienced field medic, for advice on subjects about which he is the expert in the room. He says he is accustomed to it, but his tone says he feels unhappy, unappreciated. He is as lost as all of you in this quadrant, but he has applied his Starfleet medical knowledge and training to help people like me--people none of you had ever even seen until a year ago. He loves to learn, and he yearns for more. He cares for me, and I feel in him the desire to connect with others deeply, to be considered a member of this crew in every way that one can be, but everyone else has written him off cruelly." Kathryn notices tears in the corners of Kes' eyes as she reaches the end of her impassioned appeal. Has her view of life and cognizance been so narrow? Had she never considered the consequences of continuously running a holographic program, until the situation necessitated his constant service? Kes bows her head, her blonde curls cascading down her face, and Kathryn wonders if she's hiding her tears. "Thank you for bringing this to my attention, Kes. I'll speak with him directly, identify his needs, and instruct the crew accordingly." She sits in awe of this younger woman who was able to perceive what she could not. Has she been too wrapped up in her own woes, her guilt for stranding everyone out here? Kes' face brightens, and she reaches over to hug Kathryn. "Captain, thank you so much for being receptive to this." Kathryn holds her for a moment, rubbing her back and breathing in her warmth.
The two have been sitting this way for a few heartbeats when Kes asks, "What's that glittering in the other room?" "What do you mean?" Kathryn asks, then almost immediately realizes. She releases Kes from their embrace and walks to her bedroom. When she returns, she's holding what looks like some kind of metal device, but one that's oddly festive. It has what appears to be a silver headset attached to lavender colored tubing of some kind, which makes a "Y" shape which comes down to a single tube and ends with a round metal disc with a plastic cover full of bright pink and purple glitter that shines intensely despite the instrument's obvious age. This is the first time anyone has asked Kathryn about it, but also the first time that Ensign Case has forgotten it in her quarters. She must've done it inadvertently when they were using it the other evening, before she remembered she was due to have dinner with Ensign Kim. "This actually belongs to Ensign Case," Kathryn explains, "A centuries-old medical tool she found some years ago. But we don't really think of it in that way, as a medical instrument. But...it is nice." Kes looks confused, but her interest is piqued. "I was drawn to the sparkling piece at the end, but now I'm even more curious," she confesses. Kathryn smiles, happy to share this, and twice as happy to have her mind off of her worries for a moment.
"It's nothing that you would need, not unless everything went quite sideways and we had no functioning medical tricorders," she explains. "But, it has a way of making me feel grounded, at peace, when my brain won't allow it otherwise. It's called a stethoscope." As a way to show instead of tell, Kathryn reaches forward with the ear tips, gently moves Kes' hair behind her shoulders, and carefully places them inside her ears, running her fingers along one of the ridges momentarily, curiously admiring ears so starkly different from her own. Kes chuckles for a moment, then watches as Kathryn places the disc directly on her own chest, just above the collar of her gown. The two women sit in silence for a few seconds before Kes says, wonderment in her voice, "I can hear your heart beating, really clearly, Captain. I've never heard someone's heartbeat quite like this. So...closely, so vividly. And I hear your breathing alongside it. It's so calming." Kathryn smiles and watches the woman's face while she listens, all the while feeling vulnerable yet safer, somehow. She reflects on the irony of feeling safe in such a precarious situation as being stranded so many light years from home. But Kes turns out to be a fantastic listener--her eyes, the color of the sky back home in Indiana, Kathryn realizes, are staring straight ahead, calm while she listens for several minutes. Kes removes the ear pieces and looks for a moment at the instrument, running her hands down the pale purple tubing with its specks of silver glitter. "I feel like you let me into your world in a unique way," she says. "Thank you. Do you want to listen to my heart?" she asks, and Kathryn does, though she wanted Kes to offer and did not want to make assumptions.
"Ensign Case doesn't mind?" Kes asks. "Oh no," Kathryn assures her. "I think she would be happy to know someone else enjoyed...what did she call it? Cardiophilia," she recalls. Kes nods, accepting a new English word that sounds fitting enough for the scenario. Kathryn turns the binaurals so they're angled to fit correctly in her own ears, then reaches over to Kes' side of the couch, gently placing the shiny chest piece over her nightclothes as Kes moves to sit closer to her. Immediately, Kathryn is surprised. "Kes! Your heart is racing. It's...it's so fast," Kathryn trails off, not expecting to hear valves shutting so quickly she can't count all the beats as they come in such rapid succession. While Kathryn is concerned, Kes just giggles. "And yours was so slow to me, even with the coffee. Ocampan heart rates are much faster than humans, on average. This is just my resting heart rate," she shrugs, smiling broadly. Taking in this new information, Kathryn's gaze falls to the floor of her quarters. What a curiosity life is--that she would be sharing this intimacy with someone from the other side of the galaxy--someone as alien as she's ever met, and who seems quite human nonetheless, worrying about her fellow crewmate's well-being. Her mind begins to wander, and she feels self-critical for not realizing the EMH needed her attention--she's the captain of the vessel, after all. She shudders for a second, knowing the familiar guilt that plagues her is making its way to the front of her mind. Almost as a deliberate, meditative act, she focuses on the racing of Kes' heart, picturing the leaflets of her valves, semilunar and atrioventricular, opening and closing in unison, but so rapidly it's dizzying. Or is that even how Ocampan hearts are structured? she wonders. Nevertheless, Kes' sounds quite human. Slowly but surely, her mind lets go of her anxieties, and she hears only the Ocampan's steady heartbeat. After several minutes, she removes the stethoscope, softly telling Kes, "Thank you." All at once, it seems, the feeling rushes at her and she realizes, I can sleep. As though reading her mind, Kes rises from the couch and says, "That was lovely, Captain, and thank you again for hearing me out about the EMH. I know he will appreciate your efforts. I'm going to get some rest," she says, taking her leave. "You're very welcome, dear," Kathryn tells her, and when she turns off her lamp and climbs into bed, she falls immediately into a deep sleep, one devoid of anxious dreams and nightmares that often threaten her peace.

The Good Ship CrushWay, Chapter 59
Picard, Patrick, Miles, and Data play a string quartet (violins substituted for flutes) arrangement of La vie en rose. Wesley is walking towards dressing rooms for KJ and Bev. He knocks on KJ's door sheepishly.
KJ: Come in. Wesley: Hi, Captain Janeway. KJ: Wesley. Please come in. (Wesley enters, and KJ is, of course, in the white tux.) What can I do for you? Wesley: What do you want me to call you? KJ: Kathryn is fine. Wesley: I'll see if I can manage that. Can we talk? KJ: Sure. What's on your mind? Wesley: ...What do you want with my mom? KJ: Nothing more than what we've had these last few years. Your mom, and partly my mom, are the ones that want the ceremony. Wesley: Mom has always been a hopeless romantic. KJ: (laughing with him) I love that about her. Wesley: So, you love her? KJ: More than I have ever loved anyone. All I want is to come to the end of day every day and have her with me. That's all I want for the rest of my life. Wesley: What if you meet someone else? KJ: I've met plenty of people in the last few years, Wesley. None of them compare to your mom. Wesley: No one? Not Data, Daneel, Patrick? KJ: Data is extraordinary, but he is my friend. Daneel is brilliant, but too young for me. Patrick is fantastic, but I've never had that connection with him. Wesley: What if Mark tried to come back into your life? KJ: Wesley (taking his hands in hers) I will never hurt your mom. Wesley: (locking eyes with her) I will end you if you do. KJ: (not intimidated in the slightest) And I will deserve it. Wesley: I guess I never thought my mom could find someone as good for her as my dad. It's not a shock that you're getting married. It's a shock that you exist at all. You, a person who was declared lost/dead. Then you met my mom, and Together: Everything was different. KJ: My heart belongs to her. Wesley: So, the age difference doesn't matter to you? KJ: No, not at all. She has lived a little more life than I have. That doesn't matter to me. All that matters is that we spend the rest of our lives together. Wesley: (with tears in his eyes) Will you come visit me? KJ: Of course--as often as we can. Where will you be? Wesley: I want to tell you both at the toast. (he goes in for a hug, releases, and leaves. He knocks on his mother's door.) Bev: Come in. Wesley: Hi, mom. Bev: (stopping everything, hugging her son) Wesley. I'm so glad you're here. Wesley: I'm so glad to be here. What can I do for you? I am your best man, after all. Bev: You can tell Lady Firbolg to come see Kate. She is going to need her help. Wesley: Of course.
Lady Firbolg (Firbolg), a beautiful, full-bodied trans woman, approaches the quadrangle area of Starfleet academy. She smiles a wide, toothy grin as she hears the strings and flutes play. A great dane/mastiff mix is at her side.
Firbolg: (snapping) Come on, Angeloux. Let's go see Kathryn! (Angeloux perks up and yelps excitedly. They both run/walk to where KJ and Bev are getting dressed. Firbolg opens KJ's door.) Firbolg: Yoohoo! KJ: Firbolg! I'm so happy to see you. (Angeloux all but tackles KJ, giving her kisses. They both laugh.) Firbolg: I may not be as excited to see you as Angeloux is, but I am so happy to be here. I know that I am an odd choice for your person of honor, but-- KJ: I'd have no one else as my person of honor. You and I have history, but you are my oldest and most cherished friend. (another knock) come in! Bev: (shielding her eyes so she doesn't see KJ) I just came to see Angeloux. How are you, Firbolg? Firbolg: I'm thrilled to be here for you both. Say hi, Angeloux! (Angeloux waves one of his paws at Bev, who giggles and gives him a big kiss.) Bev: Good boy, Angeloux. (She lets out a short sigh.) Joy would have loved you. KJ: I know it's sad to not have them here, but Joy would want you to be happy--it's our wedding day! Bev: (wiping away a tear) I know. All they wanted was to have a seeing-eye dog of their own. Firbolg: Kathryn told me about the Kaanor. I'm so sorry for your loss. I had a beagle ready for them. Truly a good boy. Bev: They would have loved him. Firbolg: I'm sure they would have. Kathryn, I saw your mother outside. Rocco and Molly are here, too. KJ: This wedding is going to have as many dogs as people. Firbolg: Is there any other way to be?
Joy is with themself, dead on the ground. Joy tries to pick them up. They pull and pull and have no success until another hand comes into view. It is their father, smiling.
Dad: I'm so glad that you're here with me. Joy: I've waited so long to see you. I'm so glad you didn't change. You're just as I remember you. Dad: I did change. But I am how you remember me because that's how this works. To your mother, I am how she remembers me. Joy: You left too early, you know. Dad: I didn't have a choice in the matter--you know that. Joy: Yes, I know. But I didn't get a chance to tell you goodbye. I thought I had 20 more years with you. Dad: So did I. But I didn't feel any pain. I wasn't scared. I was prepared for it. I'm here, in peace. Joy: If you couldn't stay, I'd rather you be here. Dad: You know I love you, right? Joy: Of course I do. (They embrace.) Dad: Leave them there--they can come on their own. In the meantime, you have a job to finish, and possibly a new one to begin? Joy: Indeed, I do. (They look up, sigh, and a part of them fades away.)
Rocco and Molly come running to Kathryn, kissing her. KJ laughs, Firbolg gets them to sit, and GJ walks into the dressing room.
GJ: My sweet girl! (kisses her cheeks) KJ: This--this is it, Mom. GJ: I've known you your whole life. You and Beverly are perfect for each other.
Bev in her dressing room with Wesley.
Bev: (looking concerned) You know that I'll always love your dad, right? Wesley: (smiling) Yes. Of course. I was just thinking about what he'd be doing if he were here today. Bev: (sitting down next to him) He'd probably be in here helping me get ready. Wesley: telling all those stupid dad jokes Bev: Bragging on you and your new position. Wesley: Wait, you know about that?! Bev: I'm your mother. I know. (looking at Wesley's dejected face) I won't tell Kate. And I'll act really surprised. Wesley: (shaking her hand) Deal. I'm going to go see how close the service is to starting. Can I get you anything? Bev: Some ice water would be nice. Wesley: I'm on it.
Wesley exits Bev's room and heads towards the festivities. Then, he stops in his tracks. Daneel is there.
Glasses: Hi, Wes. Been a long time. Wesley: Y-yeah. It has. Can I give you a hug? Glasses: Of course. (they hug) Wesley: I've really missed you, you know? Daneel: I've missed you, too. Trying to explain what this is between us is just so hard. Wesley: I understand that. I haven't really told anyone. Daneel: I inadvertently told your mom something, but she didn't think anything of it. Wesley: If she had, she'd've said something. Daneel: ...has Data told you? Wesley: Told me what? Daneel: (blushing wildly) We're dating. Wesley: (immediately becoming the biggest fanboy) OMG OMG OMG (Miles begins rehearsing the Bach cello solo that everyone knows) Glasses: Let's dance!
By no means is this dance actually any good. It's very much just two people who haven't seen each other in a while moving around in a funny way to Bach, and it's charming. It's finally time for the wedding to begin. Firbolg and KJ walk down the aisle, and Angeloux carries the ring pillow in his mouth. KJ is barefoot. The small crowd gathered there stands as Wesley takes Bev's arm. Wes nods at everyone as he walks, but Bev's eyes are focused on KJ. KJ is sobbing. Bev, of course, is barefoot, too. She is stepping on all sorts of stuff, but she doesn't care. KJ is there, and nothing else matters. Picard brings the two of them together at the end of the aisle. Bev is also crying at this point.
Picard: My friends, we are gathered here on this mall of Starfleet Academy to ceremoniously join together Kathryn O'Dell Janeway and Beverly Grey Crusher in matrimony. (he tears up) And, apparently, we're all here to cry, too! Kathryn, do you take Beverly to be your wife--your best friend, your confidant, your partner for life? KJ: I do. Picard: Beverly, do you take Kathryn to be your wife--your best friend, your confidant, your partner for life? Bev: I do. Picard: The brides have chosen to write some dedications to each other. KJ: (still sobbing) I'm not sure I can get through my vows, Bev. Bev: (also sobbing) Me neither. KJ: Shall we just say "Je suis a toi"? Bev: Je suis a toi, aussi. Picard: I now pronounce you wife and wife. You may now share a kiss. (They kiss; it's adorable; everyone's crying; it's fine. The quartet starts to play "La vie en rose" again. Wesley pushes a button, and all the seats slide off to the sides by means of a high tech, futuristic thing that I don't have the brain cells to create right now. KJ and Bev have their first dance. After a little while, Patrick and Picard approach the happy couple.)
Picard: Well, Number One, I'm so happy for you. You're taking one of my closest friends off the market, you know. KJ: I'll keep her well, Jean-Luc.
Patrick and Picard nod, smile at the couple, and then walk off. Patrick is deep in thought.
Picard: What's on your mind, Patrick? You look as if you miss someone. Patrick: When you called Kathryn "number one" back there--it just made me think of Will. Picard: I miss him, too. Patrick: He would have loved this. He and Deanna both. I know your Deanna was here, but in the reality I came from? They were inseparable. When they got married, they wanted it to be a ceremony just like this one--at the academy where they met. I just wish they could have had their happy ending, too. Picard: Me, too. They really deserved it. Ensign: (through the communicator) Enterprise to Captain Picard and Counselor TusNua. Picard: Picard and TusNua here. Go ahead. Ensign: Starfleet Command has sent both of you a Priority One message. Marked Triple Omega status.
Without another word, they rush into the nearest building. They find side-by-side panels.
Picard: Computer, pull up Priority One message to Picard, Jean-Luc. Picard-Gamma-6-0-7-3. Patrick: Computer, pull up Priority One message to TusNua, Patrick. Picard-Epsilon-7-3-4.
Both Computers pull up a screen only featuring text.
Computer: My friend, this message is coming to you because I am in trouble. I was able to hack into the command secure channel, but I don't think I'll be able to do it again. Jean-Luc...please come find me. I am in need of medical attention, and I am scared. This system has seven suns, and I am on the fourth planet from the second sun. There is an asteroid belt between the sixth and seventh planet. In a month, the seven suns will supernova, and I will be dead. I'm sorry I can't tell you more. Bring DeAnna and come quickly.
Patrick: Computer, who sent this message? Computer: Unknown. Picard: Was the message sent from a ship? Computer: Negative. Patrick: Computer, was the sender's face scanned? Computer: Quality of image is severely degraded. Picard: Enhance and reconstruct facial scan.
The computer beeps several times, and then the last shot is of a familiar face: William T. Riker. He is bruised: his nose broken and his beard bushy and overgrown.

The Dominion War Years: Voyager and the Battle for Deep Space Nine
https://ift.tt/RXO4J7h by Zaglossus The Federation has fallen prey to a coup detat orchestrated by Edward Janeway. While he establishes his hold on the newly-styled Terran Union, the legitimate government-in-exile of the Federation licks its wounds on DS9. Desperate for allies, William Riker goes to the gamma quadrant in search of his blood brother, Martok, who has been imprisoned by the Jem’Hadar. The Dominion chooses this time to launch their attack on DS9 and Kathryn Janeway is torn between needing to keep hope alive for finding Will, and the fight for the Federation she loves. ~*~ This is a heavily canon-divergent, plot-driven story with plenty of Janeway/Riker romance. There’s a summary of previous events in the a/ns if you want to hop on board here. Note that the tone is darker than previous entries, with graphic depictions of violence, and minor character death. There is no major character death, however, and with me the angst always has a happy ending. E-rated smut for J/R. Words: 2438, Chapters: 1/24, Language: English Series: Part 8 of The Starfleet Years Fandoms: Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager Rating: Explicit Warnings: Graphic Depictions Of Violence Categories: Multi Characters: Kathryn Janeway, William Riker, Jadzia Dax, Deanna Troi, Benjamin Sisko, Elim Garak, Martok (Star Trek), Sirella (Star Trek), Enabran Tain, Edward Janeway, Jean-Luc Picard, Lenara Kahn, Justin Tighe, Tom Paris, B'Elanna Torres, Chakotay (Star Trek), Seska (Star Trek), Seven of Nine, Tuvok (Star Trek), The Doctor (Star Trek), Dukat (Star Trek) Relationships: Kathryn Janeway/William Riker, Jadzia Dax/Lenara Kahn (Background), Deanna Troi/Tuvok (background), Julian Bashir/Elim Garak (background) - Relationship, Martok/Sirella (background) Additional Tags: Alternate Universe - Canon Divergence, Janeway/Riker (established relationship), Romance, Action/Adventure, Intrigue, Flawed Starfleet (Star Trek), Dominion War (Star Trek), Heavy Angst, Angst with a Happy Ending, Torture by Combat, PTSD, Minor Character Death, Suicidal ideation (implied), but it does get better, Smut, Possessive Sex, Intense Janeway/Riker, Ill-advised emotionally overwrought sex, But they do it anyway, Family Dynamics, Family Fluff, Kathryn Janeway Needs a Hug, Garak is a Simple Tailor

A leader is not an unshakable fortress.
And she needs a hug, she needs affection, she needs sex. Because she's a woman? Absolutely not! Because she's weak? NO! Because she's a human being! Chakotay loved her and she had his love, his support… and that was enough, but she could allow herself to live that love in all its nuances. I don't judge KM for the choices she made for Kathryn. But my outburst is that I deeply regret that we live in a problematic (and sexist) society that made her create this destiny for the character. Do you know what information ended up passing on to some people? That a woman cannot be a WOMAN and LEAD. A woman cannot have sex with the man (or woman if that's the case) she loves while leading, because that would make her weak. But a man can have sex while leading because simply… he is a MAN. Janeway being the woman who loves, who has sex and leads… would be the woman who lives her life fully, and people are afraid of these women, my dears. Girls, don't be intimidated! We are strong and amazing, regardless of our personal choices!
Any consequences of this decision will be my responsibility.

Reunion
By novasjaneway- writing as im thinking about them
Admiral Janeway: Seven, c'mere.
Captain Seven: Admiral?
Janeway: Is that any way to greet your long lost love? (Grins flirtatiously but holds her gaze sternly on Seven)
Seven: silent nervousness as she moves near Janeway
Janeway: I've been looking for you for so long...
Seven: nervousness intensifies
Janeway: ...but I never gave up. (a nervous pause) Did you.. (whispers her question)...give up?
Seven: (strained emotions) There were complications in my decision to proceed. Emotionally speaking, I did not know if you wanted me with you. I needed clarification, (nervous pause) I needed your approval to continue. I did not give up hope. But logically, I did not proceed as I did not know if my presense would cause you distress, Admiral.
Janeway: Always looking out for me huh? (A smirk, steps forward and hugs seven lightly, affectionately, forgivingly)
Seven: stiffens with anxiety and shame
Janeway: slightly frowns and hugs her tighter, leans close and whispers something in her ear
Seven: relaxes, all reservations fall away. She grasps a tight hold on her admiral and shivers
Janeway: releases a breath she didn't realize she was holding, pulls Seven closer to her, smiles warmly when Seven closes the gap. She closes her eyes, relief washing through her and over her and around her so deeply that she could only just now feel how much distress she had been carrying over the years.
Janeway: Vita Nova. Here begins new life.... (mumbles just above her breath)
Seven: Dante? (A subtle smile dances on her face.)
Janeway: nods her head softly while still nuzzled into Sevens neck.
Seven: Kathryn. (She whispers her name softly.) I knew you would overcome both my logic and my emotional reserves. I never doubted you would find me, if you wanted to. I'm sorry I allowed you to carry this search alone. (Smiles softly falling deeper in Kathryns embrace, and her love, fully, finally.)
Janeway: It was being alone that aided me in searching for you. Not even black coffee could stop me from wanting to find you Seven, not in any lifetime. But, from now on, lets walk this road together, okay? Janeway laughs and relaxes, allowing herself to be completly owned by Seven, fully, finally.
They are home.
