You can't convince me that Kahun sees the plushie version of his father, and he doesn't buy one to hug and hold always and forever.
Like Zavala goes to say goodnight to Kahun, and he sees his gigantic Uluran boy holding this miniature soft mass-market plushie version of him, and Zavala ABSOLUTELY just rolls his eyes and asks, "Why in the WORLD would you buy such a thing? Don't you put up with me enough?!"
And Kahun just looks with wide, sorrowful eyes at real dad as he hugs plushie dad, then says, "Well you're not always around. This way I can always have and hold you. Even if just a little."
You can almost see the tears falling from Zavala's eyes at this point. The Vanguard Titan just nods and tells his boy goodnight, then walks off to his room to sleep.
Important side note: It's Mama Caiatl who bought the plushie for Kahun.

Anthen-99 has a thick southern accent. He was and still is a classic cowboy.
Velliks speaks with his original British accent from when he was Awoken, but he's still got the Eliksni accent mixed in with it.
Kahun sounds like Grunkle Stan from Gravity Falls.
What's distinctive about the way your character talks?

Empress Caiatl's first one on one meeting with Zavala, she learns the man has taken on an Uluran pupil. A young former gladiator of her father's, now Titan. The Empress is intrigued, and asks Zavala this young Uluran's story.
And Zavala relays the tale of Kahun's grand sacrifice to defend him despite being mortal, and how he was risen shortly thereafter as a Titan. Zavala tells Caiatl how he's sworn to defend Kahun and nurture his valorous ideals, but it's quite hard to manage an enormous almost 9ft tall Uluran who's always anxious and looking for a fight.
Caiatl asks if the commander has let Kahun fight in the Crucible.
Zavala nods. Kahun is able to completely decimate his opponents. He's immensely strong, but he's brash and loses himself in overconfidence, and that is his undoing.
The Empress thinks a moment. Then, she tells Zavala to let Kahun know that no warrior ever survived through overestimation. To display strength is to display control, and through control, an Uluran learns to focus themself and their mind. He lacks focus. He will get nowhere if this stubbornness continues to persist, and therefore bring shame upon the Uluran empire if he does not grow beyond himself. And then Caiatl says if this does not do it, bring Kahun to her, and he will train among her Legions for a time, and learn the hard way from his fellow Uluran.
Over time, with Caiatl's guidance, Zavala is able to help Kahun grow more steady-minded, more focused. He's still impulsive, that's who he is, but at least it's calculated impulsion.
Eventually Caiatl wants to meet Kahun. She asks his father if she may be permitted to.
When Zavala tells Kahun about the Empress wishing to meet him, Kahun is terrified. He's Uluran in make, yes, but he has no recollection of what it means to be Uluran in heart and mind. He is a Guardian, that's about it. And what if he brings dishonor to the Empress by accident?
He goes to meet Caiatl no less after some convincing from his father. Kahun kneels to her, bowing graciously, and begins with an apology in case he disrespects anything of the Uluran identity or customs because he doesn't know them at all anymore.
But Caiatl tells Kahun that his father has raised him in the ways of the Uluran from the start, teaching him honor and valor, discipline and fury. Though Kahun hasn't been around others of his kind, he honors them no less with his every strike and guard. The Uluran have lost their sense of identity over countless years and the destruction of their society, but the ideals they held for honor and loyalty are stronger now more than ever. Kahun holds both. And he brings his people honor through this.
Kahun smiles. He couldn't have done this without Zavala. Not one bit.
Caiatl tells the Titan he has a great mentor and father. No doubt. Zavala cares a great deal about him in turn. And both give her hope that the Uluran will yet find allies among Humankind.
And there, both of them realize a new ideal is prevalent for their kind:
Hope.
The Uluran have hope for the first time in ages. And it is found among one another, and their friends. Their family.
And honor, valor, hope, become the prevailing ideals for all the Uluran empire.

It's almost fathers day. And I got SO much content for this day holy fuck, my Destiny blorbos all either have or are dads, and it's essential I make new content for this reason.
----------------------------------------------------
So Anthem-99 and Misraaks, of course, are just exhausted. Passed out in bed on top of one another. Misraaks is faceplanted into the bed sideways, and Anthem is laying horizontally on top of him also faceplanted into it.
Crow and Eido take this chance.
The duo sneak out of the house, into the City, and make way for a gigantic pyramid in the middle of it all. But this is no malignant pyramid of Darkness, no. This one is labeled...
Bass Pro Shop?
Eido SWEARS it has things their dads will love! She and Crow go inside, only to be greeted by a plethora of things: fishing rods, cowboy boots and hats, hiking equipment, camping supplies, so much stuff.
Crow buys Anthem a new hat, and another pair of spurred leather boots, not that he needs more of either since that's literally the man's entire closet.
Eido buys Misraaks a new fishing rod, and a plaid shirt fit for Eliksni.
As the two check out, they head home, and find their dads are both asleep. Crow sneaks in and sets the gifts down, the fishing rod dangling over them all, and Eido hands her brother a note to place at the bottom. When he does, the two leave the room.
Later, Anthem and Misraaks wake up, and as their exhausted eyes fall upon the gifts, they look puzzlingly at one another. But both pick up the note, and read it aloud.
"Fishing for your love today. Happy fathers day! Love, Eido and Crow."
They cry. These two dads just cry. They love their kids so damn much it's amazing. And all the same they love them.
----------------------------------------------------
Spider walks to his throne, and hears something clanking softly. Immediately putting him on guard, the Eliksni kingpin draws a gun, and looks around. He hears the clanking once more, and whips around.
Someone tackles him with the strength of a Titan, pushing him down as he swears.
Magnus hugs his father tight, pressing into him with a laugh. "Did I get you this time?" he asks.
Spider groans. "Damnit, son. Why would you scare your old man like that?"
"To distract you from the REAL surprise!" Magnus tells him.
"What? Surprise? What could--"
The door to the hideout opens, and a gigantic Ether cake in the shape of a Ghost is rolled inside on a cart. Around the base, written in icing, are Eliksni letters in their tongue saying, "Happy fathers day, Dad! Love, Magnus!"
Spider is silent with awe. This cake is... ginormous. It's as big as the beefy Titan son he's taken on. Maybe even bigger.
Magnus grins, and brings it to his father. "I hope you like it. I tried to make it as best I could by myself, but Cayde uhh... contributed?"
Nodding, Spider hugs his son tight, and kisses the top of his head. "You're a great man. But I could never eat this cake alone. Summon a sword or something, and cut it, will you?"
"I'm... a Titan. Only Warlocks can use Dawnblades."
"Do you have a knife?"
"I'm not a Hunter, either."
"Damnit. What DO you have to cut it apart?"
"Uhh... a gun? Lots of guns?"
"You really are my boy, eh?" Spider laughs, smiling. "No matter. I'll take one from the lackeys."
----------------------------------------------------
Kahun, as always, is insistent on making a great handmade gift for this special occasion. Just as he did for his mother, he's spent weeks in his workshop making something else, this time for his father.
As the day comes to a close, and the sun sets, Kahun goes home knowing the next day will be fathers day. He places his craft inside his vault, and waits.
The next morning, Zavala wakes, and immediately his jaw drops as his gazes falls upon a gorgeously-crafted sword of a traditional Uluran style, engraved with the Titan and Vanguard symbols on its guard. He calls for Kahun.
There is no response.
Confused, Zavala reaches for the sword, but the moment he touches it, the weapon lights up and hovers in the air, turning toward the door.
Zavala grasps the handle, and follows its pointing outside.
But the sword next points him in another direction, and following it, Zavala begins finding himself taken down a path into the City, past the Tower, and outside a set of walls to a gorgeous park.
And there he sees Kahun grinning beneath his rebreather. Kahun charges his father, and hugs him tight, nearly crushing his dad in the embrace.
"Happy fathers day, Dad! I hope you like it," Kahun says. He sets Zavala down.
Zavala smiles warmly. "It's perfect, Kahun. Thank you."
"I made it so it'll guide you to me if one of us is ever lost. Being separated inside the Traveler was... frightening. But maybe this way, we'll never have to worry about that again."
Nodding, Zavala mounts the sword on his back. "Now what's the other part of your gift? I know you wouldn't just lead me out here for nothing."
"Oh, yeah, no. You're spending the day off work for once. You're my dad, and we gotta celebrate today together." Kahun forcefully restrains Zavala, lifts him up, sits down, and sets his dad in his lap, holding him there with zero chance of escape.
Zavala groans. "Kahun, I have to--"
"Spend time for yourself? I know," Kahun finishes. "So let's do that. You and me." He turns his father around to see the park, a gorgeous lake down below the hill where they sit, and birds flying above on a perfect summer day. Gentle breezes brush the two, the green grass and blooming plants swaying with it all.
And for once, Zavala just relaxes. He breathes easy. This is serenity, and this is good. It's ok. And he smiles, looking up at his son who holds him there.
All is well.

You want silly Guardian OC content??? You got it. My young wolf is actively stealing pens from Zavala’s office. There is no reason for this. She just started doing it.
Kahun, Zavala's adopted son, wholeheartedly supports your Guardian on these endeavors. Sometimes, he "secretly" leaves pens in easily stealable spots for your Guardian, to help her out.
Zavala has not caught on. And Kahun is doubting he ever will.

Courtship of the Heart
Kahun's ship landed upon Neomuna's tower landing bay. Opening up, the gigantic Cabal walked down the stairwell, onto the balcony, where Nimbus's eyes widened as they focused a single shot upon him.
"Don't come any closer, Shadow Legion!" they said.
Kahun threw his arms up, his Ghost hovering at his side. "I'm not Shadow Legion!! I'm Zavala and Caiatl's son!!" he hastily said.
Nimbus's jaw dropped to the ground. "Zavala has a son? And he's with Caiatl?!"
"I'm adopted, I know," Kahun explained. He dropped his arms. "Can I come out please?"
"Uhh... let me just confirm with-"
"Allow my son safe passage. I am certain you two will get along well," Caiatl's voice rang out as her heavy footsteps came forth. There, she made her way to Kahun's ship, offering a single hand.
Kahun took it, and bowed. "Thank you, Mother." Standing upright, he let go, and walked toward Nimbus, who, despite their height, still didn't quite reach that of Kahun, who stood at least a few inches taller. Not as tall as his mother, though. Nonetheless, the Cabal grinned, and bowed to Nimbus, too. "I've... heard about the Cloudstriders. And what they can do. I'm impressed," he said.
Nimbus waved their arms. "No need to bow to me. I'm just a rookie!" they insisted.
Nodding, Kahun righted himself once more, and smiled obviously beneath the rebreather. "Well. There's clearly a war going on here, and I gotta shoot some shit. So point me in the right direction, and I'll get firing!"
Caiatl sighed, shaking her head. "You're brash, Kahun. Remember, headlong into war will only lead to your demise."
The Cabal sighed, nodding. "Sorry, Mother."
"Apologize not to me, but to yourself, and your Ghost. He will have to resurrect you when you die repeatedly," she explained.
"I'm a Guardian. Dying is what I do best." Kahun chuckled, and looked to Nimbus, putting one hand awkwardly behind his head. "I'm... sorry... about my mom. She's just trying to protect me..."
"I get it! I really do!" Nimbus said. "Rohan tries to do the same thing to me."
Kahun chuckled a little. "He sounds like a great guy, then, just as my mother's an incredible woman."
"Oh, he's the best! I hope to be as good as him one day."
"You seem pretty great already!" Kahun said enthusiastically. "You're the tallest person I've met who isn't Cabal! That's a plus. Do you know how hard it is to lean over and talk to my dad all the time? Hah."
Nimbus chuckled now, too, albeit nervously. "You know, I never thought I'd be conversing with another Cabal on even terms. I knew we had allies in you, but not you specifically."
"Yeah. It's... gotta be hard... to see us as on your side during a time like this. I'm... sorry..."
"Sorry for what? You've done nothing wrong!"
"I'm just used to apologizing, I guess." Kahun hung his head. "Well... let me not hold you up any longer. Where're the Vex, and what are they up to? I'll get on destroying them for your guys' sake."
"Maybe I can come with?" Nimbus asked.
Now, Kahun's eyes widened. "You want to come with me?"
"Yeah! Why not? You seem like a cool guy!"
Kahun grinned beneath the rebreather, and rammed a fist against his chest. "Alright! Let's go, then! Kahun Tu'mak, pleasure to meet you!"
Nimbus bowed. "You must be the Archduke of Cabal, then. Right? I'm Nimbus, milord. Pleasure to meet you."
"Well... I don't have a formal title yet, but Mom's training me for sure! So no need to bow to me," Kahun told them.
Nodding, Nimbus stood, smiling. "Alright! Let's get shootin' some Vex!" Getting on their board, they surfed off into the sky, as Kahun jumped down the air current leading to the ground below.
And upon the balcony, Caiatl crossed her arms contentedly, nodding. "Perhaps they'll get along too well. Maybe it's for the best. Kahun needs someone to relate to," she said to herself. Pressing the comm on her helmet, she spoke again. "Zavala, he's safe. In good hands. Should we keep an eye on that Nimbus? Make sure they do not... court... our son?"
"If they do, let it be," Zavala said. "Kahun's earned their courtship of heart if he does choose to. And I'm certain Nimbus will have earned his all the same."

Note
Zavala is the type of guy to keep incorrectly using slang in attempt to appear hip with the kids
Kahun can confirm this is true. Zavala has attempted to connect with him this way on multiple occasions, and it drives Kahun NUTS!!! The poor Titan boy... He knows Zavala is just trying his hardest, but he's trying a bit too hard, and it's not working. At all. Kahun is embarrassed to call him his father when this happens.

I wholeheartedly want to believe D&D exists in the Destiny universe, and has survived until present day.
And I just imagine Magnus DMing a game for Ghaul, Caiatl, Kahun, and Zavala.
Everyone is struggling against Tiamat. Because Magnus is a fucking hardass who thinks the party can stand BOTH incarnations of her. The first stage eats Kahun's character alive then spits out the corpse, and Caiatl, taking the game a little too seriously, goes protector mode, and charges in, slaying Tiamat's first form.
But there's more.
She comes back with 500HP and with "hurl into Avernus". She tries to grapple Caiatl's character, but Caiatl built a barbarian with immense strength, who beats the grapple check. Using a greataxe, she chops off two of Tiamat's heads.
But Tiamat still has her claws, and 3 more heads. Grappling Kahun's character's corpse, she hurls that into Avernus.
Now, Zavala goes. He built a monk, and goes fucking nuts, too, shouting, "That's my boy!!" And with that, he jumps using his reaction into the portal to grab Kahun's character.
Two down, Ghaul is up. He made a devotion paladin devoted to the Traveler as his god. Chopping off the remaining heads of Tiamat with multiple attacks, he looks to Caiatl and says, "You and Zavala owe me one." Then he pulls out a diamond, and says, "Catch them both. I will revive Kahun."
Because Tiamat is effectively dead, everyone is freed from Avernus. They fall, and Caiatl's character catches them, then places Zavala and Kahun's characters down. Ghaul's character revives Kahun's.
Everyone goes for the loot.
And it's legendary items.
Then, the party hears a voice echo: "You mortals will fall to me one day when I reform."
"SHE ISN'T FUCKING DEAD?!" Kahun cries.
"You weren't in Hell when you killed her. She can't die permanently unless you're on her plane," Magnus says, chuckling. "Wanna find a way there to kill her forever?"
"FUCK YES!" everyone says.
And thus, the oneshot turns into a full-blown campaign with everyone trying to find their way into Hell to kill Tiamat AGAIN.

Kahun mourns Calus's death because one, that was his grandfather, and two, because that was his abuser. His tyrant. His unwilling Emperor. And Kahun did get to know his grandfather, and he learned the bastard was just that. A bastard. Kahun has no remorse.
And now, Caiatl has to be strong for not one, but two. She must help her son overcome his grief. Help him realize his past has come to a close. And know her past has done just the same.

Zavala sighed, looking at his wife. "You and Ghaul agreed to make Magnus your Evocate General, and now, you and I are both hoping Kahun will be anywhere near capable enough to become Emperor someday. That leaves me with no one to cover the position of Titan Vanguard..."
Caiatl nodded. "I'm certain one of those two will take it. And, there is always Gadrax."
"Traveler, no. Gadrax would fling himself off a cliff before taking the position."
Caiatl chuckled a little now. "Although I have yet to meet him, I can gather that from what you and Magnus have told me of him.
"Still. It stands. Kahun will gladly take your place someday, if not for himself to prove he can do both be Vanguard and Emperor, he will do it for you. To impress you. To show you he is worthy."
Zavala raised an eyebrow. "Worthy? He is certainly worthy. I'd rather he start as Vanguard before becoming Emperor."
"As would I." Caiatl sighed, placing a hand on Zavala's shoulder. She smiled, and nodded once. "Whatever happens when you're gone, Magnus and Kahun can handle it. They've proved themselves. My brother, and our son. We are certainly in good hands."
Zavala smiled back now, and grabbed his wife's hand. "Thank you."

Y'know, considering Kahun is the youngest Guardian in my canon, and Anthem-99 is the oldest, I'm curious what they feel about one another. I'll write that another day. But yeah. It's gotta be fun.

4 for Kahun!!
YEEESSSS!!!! THANK YOU!!!!
4. How do they act when they’re sick, and does it change depending on who they’re around or how sick they are?
So Kahun acts like an absolute helpless BABY when he's sick. He acts this way around both his mother and father. He will curl up in bed, under a blanket, shivering, and crying, and he will CRAVE cuddles.
Zavala tells him he won't cuddle, that'll make him sick, too. He offers warm tea, though, and hand crocheted blankets, which he makes for Kahun because Zavala knows his son loves them dearly.
Caiatl, she will put thick comforters over Kahun, and just pat him gently (or what she believes is gently, but is actually strong af), then read him bedtime stories from Torobotl. If she hears him waking from a fever induced nightmare, which is common, she goes over with Zavala, and both place a hand on him until he falls asleep again.
Kahun is the equivalent of a 20 year old but as Uluran, but he acts like a 5 year old when sick, and damn if his parents don't give in to that lol.

Imagine Kahun introducing Nimbus to ramen. He tells them it's noodles, with flavored broth, vegetables, and more, and Nimbus's eyes light up. They're like, "I'm in!"
Together, the two go to the Tower, and get some ramen.
The chef asks on a scale of 1-10 how spicy Nimbus wants theirs to be, and Nimbus thinks 10 can't be that bad. So they take it.
Kahun laughs. He only orders a 6. "You're gonna be done in with that one!" he says. "Good luck!"
Nimbus wants to prove Kahun so wrong. So when they get their ramen, they eat it all like a champ. They're able to consume everything without a single drink, and when they're done, they just put the chopsticks down, and spoon, and look at Kahun, crossing their arms.
Kahun goes, "Huh. Wasn't expecting that! You're stronger than I give you credit for!"
Nimbus nods. They pat him on the back, laughing. "I like spicy food! It's my passion!" they say. They smile. "You need to build your tolerance to it! That's all!"
"Maybe you can teach me how to!" Kahun tells them. He smiles beneath the rebreather, and leans in to hug Nimbus.
Nimbus smiles back, returning the hug.
Kahun then musters a very soft, "I think I love you."
Nimbus raises an eyebrow. "What did you say?"
"Uhh!! Nothing!! I swear!!" Kahun replies. He backs off, eyes wide.
"You're not a half bad guy yourself!" Nimbus tells him. "I'm glad this date went so well."
"Date?! Wh... what?! No, this was just a hangout! It wasn't–"
Nimbus leans in and kisses Kahun's cheeks. "For you."
Kahun blushes so madly that he stumbles backward, falls off the Tower, and crashes to the ground below, dying. His Ghost resurrects him, against Nimbus, hugging them.
Kahun jumps, glaring at the Ghost. "Damnit Gul'tan!"
Nimbus laughs. "I guess if he thinks it's official, it is! Whaddya say? Partners?"
Kahun looks to Nimbus, and nods. "Partners. Thank you."

Also, I just realized, Kahun is definitely autistic, just like his father, Zavala. Both of them are able to communicate with Cabal sign language for when they go mute. Specifically, Kahun taught his father Cabal sign language when he first realized his father was semi-mute, and that made communication far easier. People always said, Zavala was a man of few words, but didn't realize it was truly him falling mute. Kahun understood this immediately, however, and worked to make things better for both of them. He helped his dad realize he was autistic.
Next, Magnus, who's also semi-mute, learned Cabal and Eliksni sign language, so he could communicate with everyone when he fell mute. During council, it's hard, because he must speak, but Ghaul or Caiatl gladly translate for him when this happens. When Mithrax first realized Magnus was semi-mute, he signed, "Ok?" and Magnus shook his head "no." Mithrax signed back, "Help?" Magnus nodded. And there, the Eliksni taught him the language to make communication easier, and possible.
Caiatl will always talk Magnus or Kahun through with sign language what's going on, why they're mute, and what she can do to help them. Considering she's adopted Kahun by falling in love with Zavala, and considering Magnus is her Evocate General, she is patient, and observing, and protective over both of them. They're her family, all she has left, and they mean the world to her. So she finds the route of their problems, and helps them both work through them. It's kind of her. And she is learning kindness when she's lived a life of harshness and unforgiving brutality.
