inexperienced men. who for the very first time feel, what a pussy feels like. your gummy, warm walls clenching around his throbbing cock. the way he clenches his jaw and gritting his teeth, to regain composure from cumming almost immediately. “f-fuck…so tight ..”. your pulsing soft walls suck his cock in, barely holding himself up. the way his soft, silky locks fall on your chest as he’s hunched over you. only gasps, curses and more whimpers slipping out of his lips. “so.. t—tight.. shit..”. pushing his full length into, till the base, gripping the plush of your hips, a bit too hard, in meek attempts to stop himself from painting your tight walls white. after what seems like forever, he slowly moves his hips, each stroke, sending shivers down his spine. he leans down to kiss you, again in attempts to keep him from moaning loud. he pushes his tongue into your mouth, his tongue lapping yours. but soon, the kissing gets sloppy, saliva dripping down both your chins. he leans down, burying his face into the crook of your neck. his teeth grazing the base of your neck, as his hips erratically, in haste buck against yours. the sound of his balls slapping against your ass, filling the room combined with his little whimpers and yours. “i-i’m cum-ming… f-fuck” he buries himself to the hilt, pushes himself even deeper, his tip bruising your cervix. his eyes squeezed shut, biting down your shoulder lightly. his cock, pumping ropes of milky, sticky cum. his cock twitching inside you, panting against your neck. just as he catches his breath, your walls convulse around his twitching cock, overstimulating. “o- fuckkk.. f..ck” barely able to form coherent sentences, slurring his words. burying his face into the pillow, beside your head, to stifle his moans. muffled moans, teary eyes as one hand gripped your waist tightly, bruising them lightly and the other hand gripping the sheets, crumpling them. his first feel of a vaginal orgasm. he presses soft kisses from your jawline to your neck, “it feels… so good.. one more time?.. please baby?..”. no longer will his hands suffice for him, as he felt what heaven feels like, you.

⋅˚₊‧ Oikawa Headcanons ⋅˚₊‧ Gn reader enjoy ⭑.ᐟ
✮Whenever Oikawa is with you, he lets his "tough guy" mask fall off. That's why, most of the time, you two tend to have calmer dates, deviating a bit from the usual, like picnics in parks, watching movies, and other things.
✮He likes to lie on your lap while you play with his hair. He complains about how he hates geniuses like his kohai Kageyama (ahhajaja lol) and other things that annoyed him. You just laugh at the cute and funny way he imitates them and give him a peck while his cheeks turn red and he kisses you back.
✮As silly as it may seem, he has some kind of shame about feeling this inferiority complex and hates showing that he feels insecure. The only person he feels safe to talk about this with is you, so be prepared to take his late-night calls and comfort him. Believe me, it will take hours for you to convince him that you are serious when you say he's an incredible player. Even if he thinks he will never measure up to the "geniuses," that's the biggest lie because he's already superior to them just by the effort he puts in "to reach their level."
✮Oikawa often gets "mad" and throws a tantrum because you refuse to go see him play and cheer for him because you're afraid that, one day, one of his crazy fans will throw a rock at your head out of jealousy (akhajajakakakak sorry, I had to write that). But it turns out he always convinces you to go by looking at you with his puppy eyes and that pout. No matter how hard you try, you always end up losing to your sweet boyfriend. But maybe it's not so bad to lose since, in the end, he will always be there thanking you for being the best girlfriend in the world, cheering for him while he showers you with kisses on your face.
✮When his family has special events, his mom always invites you. She definitely loves you, always saying how Toru finally found someone to straighten him out. The gatherings always end with you and his nephew doing his makeup and styling his hair with ribbons and braids. In the end, Oikawa always ends up toppling both of you over, tickling you until his mom sees the three of you sleeping on the floor hugging each other (she always smiles, sighs, and covers you with a blanket, saying,( "these young ones nowadays").
✮In that same vein, when Oikawa sees you and his nephew bonding and having fun, he thinks of one of his greatest dreams. Aside from his volleyball career, it's to marry you and have a family together. He definitely can't wait for that.
✮One of the dates you love the most is when Iwa joins you two. You always die laughing at their fights. You and Iwa get along very well. To be honest, when you buy or make sweets or any kind of food for Oikawa, you always make extra for (wa to eat too ;)
✮Omg, who is that person who isn't even from Seijou that is screaming nonstop in the Aoba Josai cheering section against Karasuno? Wait, the person just called Karasuno's number 9 an idiot.
(Stories say that when Aoba Josai lost, you cried more than the players themselves. Yes, you are Aoba Josai's biggest fan.)
✮One of the cutest things ever seen was you going to his school to deliver his glasses that he left at your game night on Friday and putting them on him, giving him a kiss in front of everyone during recess. By the way, he didn't use to wear glasses because he thought they looked ugly until one day he asked what you thought, and you said he looked "super hot" with glasses hehe (Matsun and Makki still wonder why
Oikawa suddenly decided to wear glasses every day and almost die when he forgets them).
✮Oikawa always wears the sweaters you wore and the ones you drew little stars on. When Iwa notices that he always wears sweaters with stars and a perfume that doesn't belong to him and asks why, he simply says, "it's my way of showing others that I belong to my angel."
Bônus ⊹˖ :
Iwa still has nightmares about the time when Oikawa had gone to Argentina and hadn't settled in yet. Only he knows what it was like to hear you crying out of longing when you went out to bars together after your video calls with Oikawa. At least now he can sleep well knowing that Oikawa is finally okay and has managed to take you to Argentina with him. Now it's Iwa who gets the video calls from the two of you😊🥹🥹

kinktober 2023 -> day 5
mutual masturbation - kageyama tobio x reader
word count: 734
kinktober masterlist
At first glance, and through the lens of a sports fan, he was the confident, bold rookie setter that just made the Olympics and took them by storm. Tall, lean, constant brooding look on his face. He was intimidating and sometimes downright scary.
But they didn’t know him like you did. His best friend since middle school and girlfriend since high school. They didn’t know how flustered he got around you, or how he would stutter over his words when you had just started dating. When you intertwined your hands for the first time, Tobio’s face had burst into flame and he hadn't said a word for hours after that, practically immobilized. And while your beginnings were very uncertain and hesitant, bashful smiles and red cheeks, no one could look at him now and believe how far he had come in terms of his physical confidence. Like right now.
His chest heaved as he sucked in deep breaths, slick with sweat and abs contracting every now and then. His biceps flexed as his arm moved, leading down to where his hand was tightly wrapped around his length, moving up and down at the exact pace you asked him to move. His hair stuck to his forehead, some of it sticking up haphazardly to give him the perfect disheveled look. His eyes, dark pure blue, trained on your equally naked figure, his lip caught between his teeth to hold back the noises that escaped his throat.
He was a vision.
“Keep going,” you whispered, knowing your voice would still reach him. He was hyper aware of every noise that you made right now, considering that you were the one talking him through this. “Run a thumb over the head- there you go.”
Tobio let out a cracked breath, and your eyelids fluttered at the sound. You were conflicted, because on one hand your fingers pressing into your core felt so good it nearly made your eyes fall shut, but there’s no way you could miss even a second of the sight in front of you. Your boyfriend laid out before you like a version of Adonis. How many girls would kill to be in your position right now? You weren’t going to pass this up.
“Y-you look so good.” Tobio breathed out, voice so low it rumbled in his chest. A simple compliment, but enough to make you clench around your fingers, knowing how Tobio struggled with his words. And the proof of how affected he was laid right in front of you. He looked absolutely wrecked.
You were nearing your end, and you didn’t want to reach it alone.
“Faster, Tobio.” You encouraged, curling your fingers deeper and harder inside yourself, using your palm to grind against your clit. You wanted to see him cum with you. You knew what that looked like, and god, you couldn’t wait to see it.
Tobio obeyed, tightening his hold around his stiff length, moving faster than he was before. Your breaths grew heavier, louder, occasional moans mixed in as you looked at each other, getting off on the idea that your bodies were turning each other on.
“‘M cumming.” Tobio grunted out before his body jerked, one muscular leg kicking out slightly as white hot liquid spilled from his tip, shooting far up enough to hit his chest. His whole torso heaved and his head dropped back, jaw going slack, hand still moving hard and fast so he could milk every last bit of his release.
There’s no way you could survive looking at the show he had just put on for you. Your eyes squeezed shut and you tumbled over the edge too, legs seized and fingers moving sloppy and fast as your juices coated your hand, shivers running through your spine, intense and so pleasurable. You moaned and cried through it, finally feeling your muscles relax when the feeling passed, leaving you blissfully tingly all over.
You were startled when you felt Tobio grip your wrist and ease your fingers from your hole, only to pop them immediately into his own mouth. His eyelids fell shut and he moaned around them, tongue flicking over the digits. You felt something inside you stir at the sight.
When Tobio dropped your hand and slowly sank his head between your legs, you let him without any protest.

I waited a couple days to try and give other people a chance to request something from you, but since you still have some slots open, how can I not jump in? 🤩
I'm gonna circle back to an oldie for this one if I may! Platonic!KageHina has been on my mind a lot recently and I just LOVE your fics for them so much, friend! Perhaps something a bit more casual? Like just hanging out chatting turns into something? I don't have an exact scenario in mind; I just know you've done some volleyball-related ones for them in the past and thought it could be neat to shake it up a bit. But whatever you wanna do, I trust your writing judgement with my life! Thank you in advance and remember to drink water! 💖
Girl the way I CACKLED! kkarjkaerkjajrkeawjk That opening was amazing! And the prompt EEE! I haven't written for Platonic!Kagehina in awhile, so this was a delight! I've gotcha covered!

“Is it good?” Hinata asked, watching as Kageyama took a hesitant sip. A new boba shop opened up recently, something the tiny redhead insisted on going to. “We’ve never had it before! Come on!” Was all he said before practically dragging Kageyama with him.
The brunette sat back, letting the taste settle on his tongue. Then: “Yeah. It’s pretty good.”
“Not much of a reaction.” Hinata laughed, leaning away when the other offered a sip. “No thanks- I don’t like milk.”
“What- what do you think our drinks are made out of?” Kageyama blinked, watching the redhead suck on his bright orange beverage.
“Juice!” He cried with a grin, teeth pumpkins. “It’s way better! Want some?”
“Nah- I don’t like orange juice.”
“Huh.” Hinata hummed, the two sitting side by side sipping on their drinks. Then- “Why not?”
“Too sour. Makes my face hurt.”
“This isn’t sour at all. I got extra sugar in it.”
“You’re gonna be bouncing off the walls. Not that you haven’t been doing that already.”
“Oh please- like you’re so above that.” Hinata snorted, looking at the creamy boba tea Kageyama held. “Is that sweet?”
“Don’t know. Want a sip to find out?”
“No way. Milk’s gross.”
“That’s why you're short.”
“Oi!” Hinata puffed as Kageyama smirked. “I’m not short- you’re just too tall! You’re built like a stalk of celery.”
“Better than being built like a baked bean.” Those were fighting words, but Kageyama didn’t stop himself from saying them. He quickly moved their drinks aside before it could be knocked over, Hinata’s cries of war nearly muffled as he was knocked flat onto the bench they shared.
“Take it back right now!” Hinata demanded, fingers already in action. Kageyama didn’t even get a chance to reply before he was fighting down the giggles rising in his throat. “Take it back, you celery looking jerk! Take it back I say!”
“Ne-nehehever!” He cried out, halfheartedly shoving at the hands pawing at his stomach. “Bahahhaked beahhan b-bohohoke!”
Hinata gasped at the alliteration, clutching his pearls. “You-you-you son of a- that’s it! I’ll show you what this baked bean can do!” Motivated, Hinata put all his energy into tickling the other, grabbing Kageyama’s wrist and pulling it overhead. Once there, he took his other hand and slowly began walking it up his side, pressing in sharply with each step. “Coochie coochie coo! A tickle tickle tickle Tobi-Toe!”
“GAH!” The setter all but yelped at the touch, arching some before dissolving into giggles. “Yoohohohou ahahahahss! Dohohoohn’t- noohohoht the bahahhahaby tahahhaalk! Geahhahahahaha!”
“Yes baby talk! Babies love milk, so that makes you one! A coochie coochie coo!” Hinata made his voice extra sweet- talking like a mother to her newborn as he viciously dug into the center rib along Kageyama’s side. It was a terrible spot- one that nearly sent him flying with how hard the other writhed. “Who’s a ticklish whittle baby? You are! You are!”
“SHUHUHUT UUHUUHP! SHHIHIHIHT! YOHOOHOU AHAHAHASS!” Kageyama cackled, squeezing his eyes shut as he kicked his feet against the bench. Oh how he was gonna destroy this little turd! “MOHOOHOVE SOOHOHOEMWHEHEHERE EHEHEHLSE!”
“Huh? What?” Hinata paused his tickles briefly as he leaned in, a hand to his ear. “Can’t hear you- you’re far too quiet! Wanna try again, whitt-”
His teases were quickly ended when Kageyama flipped the tables- literally. How he managed to keep them on the bench in doing so amazed him, but there was no time to wonder. “Thehehere, you ahahahss! I’hihill show yoohou who’s the bahahaby here!” Kageyama was quick to repeat Hinata’s previous move, grabbing his wrist and going straight for a bad spot. The redhead didn’t stand a chance.
“AHHH!” Hinata shrieked like he was in a horror movie, quickly dissolving into laughter as Kageyama dug into his stomach. “Kahahhahahahhagehhehahahhhaha! Mehahahahhahahaha nooohohoht my behehehehlly! Geahahhahaha pleahhahahahhse!”
“Hmm, no. You get what you get.” The setter snickered, an idea coming to mind as he shoved up Hintatas shirt. “Don’t think I forgot your little comment earlier, Boke. Tobi-toe, huh?”
“Yeahhahahah cahahhsue youohohu lohoohohook like a tohoohohie-EHEHEHEHEH!” Hinata arched with a loud squeal as Kageyama dragged his finger against warm skin, drawing out a tic tac toe grid. “Wahahhait wahahhaait whahahhahat?”
“X’s or O’s?” Kageyama asked, tapping the center “square” rapidly as Hinata struggled to think. “Pick before I decide for you.”
“Eheheheheh! Fihihihine, fihihiihne Oohohohohs!” Hinata cried, giggling harder as Kageyama scratched out an “x” on the center square. “Nohohohoo fahahahir, I shoohoohuld get to gohohoho first!”
“Too bad. Where do you want your “O”?”
“Ehehahhahah! Gehahahhaha- uuhuhuuhper mihihihidle-EHEH!” Hinata kicked as an “O” was drawn. One after the other- x’s and o’s were “sketched” into his stomach, leaving him a squealing, shrieking mess. Eventually leading to…
“Damn, a drawl.” Kageyama hummed- drawing out a massive “C” across the entire graph. Hinata was near silent with mirth, wheezing against the crook of his trapped arm as he gasped for air. Seeing this, Kageyama stopped his tickles- waiting patiently for the tiny jumper to catch his breath. “Want me to stop?”
“Hehe..hehehe..” The ginger giggled. He whispered something- so quiet Kageyama couldn’t quite hear him. With his free hand, he gestured him closer.
“I said…” Hinata began, only to quickly grab at Kageyama’s side. “Take that!” The setter yelped and collapsed against him, cackling the entire time. Soon their controlled tickle fight turned into an all out brawl- their hands poking and grappling at each other's tickle spots as their laughter filled the area all around. Eventually, everything came to an end when they rolled off the bench.
To their amazement post the tickle fight- they somehow avoided their drinks. Small victories.
~~~
“Heh..hehehe..whhohooho one?” Hinata giggled out, haphazardly flopping into Kageyama’s side as he gasped for air. Kageyama wasn’t any better, leaning back into him as he wiped mirthful tears away from his eyes.
“Hell..I dooohohn’t know. Truhuuhce?” He asked, humming as Hinata nodded. Reaching out, he blindly reached out for his drink, bringing it to his lips.
“Mm!” He yelped when his tongue was assaulted by citrus. He grabbed the wrong one. “Oh….oh.” He took another sip, nodding. “You know…that’s not bad.”
Hinata blinked, then he reached across the other- grabbing the milk tea. After a few sips, he nodded. “You know….I still hate milk.”
Kageyama sputtered so hard it came out his nose. Hinata cackled, falling on his back as he laughed and laughed- Kageyama practically in tears once more against him as he did the same.
refrain: chapter 4, point (part 2)
kageyama x f!reader
chapter 4 - refrain masterlist
♪ ༘⋆ point
!!! - sort of angst? not really just a lil sad, small mention of edibles
the air around him was humid. his foot had been stepped on at least five times. but all he could focus on was her.
"i've had a really good time tonight, but unfortunately, this will be the last song of the night." cries and "no's" were heard. yn smiled and wiped sweat off of her forehead.
"i know i know, but i think that this is a good way to end it. if you don't know, this is flip your pillow."
with one last strum, one last chord, one last drum hit, it was over. everyone shouted and cheered, pushing and reaching out to her. kageyama stood in place, covered in sweat, breathing shortly, surrounded by strangers. in this moment, finding himself cheering along, he loved this feeling.
yn waved and took her guitar off, but stayed on stage. "okay okay, we all know what's coming." he didn't. "of course i loved all of you guys tonight. you guys have been the best crowd i have ever had. but everything, all of this, has been for you, right there."
she pointed to the crowd. for a second he thought that she was pointing at him...wait...
"yes, you! black hair blue eyes, all for you." oh. oh. she was pointing at him. she was smiling, at him. she noticed him. his friends shook his shoulders and patted him on the back, but he retained the eye contact with him. he never wanted to look away, even if his face was red and hot.
she broke away from the look first. "okay for real this time, goodbye everyone! please stay safe i love you all so much!!" she waved to some people up close and blew kisses out into the crowd. kageyama just couldn't believe it. had she really dedicated the whole concert to him? was it a mistake? no, she pointed at him. it had to have been on purpose.
before he could think anymore he was pulled from where he was standing by oikawa.
"come on! let's go to the green room and say hi!!"
all six of them entered a door at the back of the venue into a cool, dimly lit hallway. at the end was a door labeled "artist". oikawa knocked and was greeted by suga at the door. he leaned back into the room and said something inaudible, then fully opened the door and let them all in.
"oh my god woah it's all of you, hi!" kageyama stopped, it was yn. he wondered if she would say anything about her pointing at him. she got up from the small couch she was sitting on and got up to hug kenma and oikawa.
"i'm sorry if i'm sweaty and gross smelling. it was so hot on stage." kenma laughed as he hugged her. "don't worry, so are we."
"oh i know, i can smell all you. individually." noya spoke up from a plastic chair. kageyama hadn't even noticed him at first. he looked around and realized akaashi and hinata were also in the room.
after talking to oikawa and kenma for a little, yn turned to kageyama, who had been standing awkardly alone.
"hi! you're tobio right?" she stuck out her hand for a handshake, but it took him a little bit to register what the gesture was. he wiped his hand on his pant leg and strongly shook her hand. too strongly. his face went red again.
"i'm sorry if i embarrassed you by the point. it's something that i do at all my shows, i choose a random person and point at them. it was all noya and hinata's idea, but i thought it was funny."
she looked at him and smiled. oh. so it wasn't as special as he thought. but still, she chose him out of the whole crowd, maybe it could still mean somethi-
"if you're mad, be mad at them. they were the ones that told me to point at you." she said as she pointed behind her to kenma and oikawa.
oh. so, it wasn't special. it didn't mean anything. it was just a big joke. he felt his cheeks burn once more.
p.s!
➳ poor tobio :(
➳ don't worry it gets better next chapter, i think.
➳ i love this chapter but there isn't any smau, i just couldn't really figure out how to work it in
➳ oikawa always goes to yn's green room after her shows, so she told the staff in advanced.
➳ he's almost gotten thrown out of places for trying to get to yn's room, slightly drunk and emotional
➳ noya and hinata had gone to the room around 3/4 of the way through to a) beat the crowd, b) cool off, and c) take edibles and listen to the concert from the room
➳ bokuto will always give akaashi the biggest hug, no matter how sweaty either of them are
sypnosis: the infamous point to a crowd member at the end of all of yn’s concerts wasn’t something she ever thought that much of, after all, it was just a joke her friends and bandmates thought would be funny. however this simple move to an unaware and uninformed boy makes both of them question if it really was just a throw away joke this time, or something more. something neither of them expected to come out of this small, crowded gig.
Koi no Yokan 7: it's good to have a project (Nishinoya Yuu/Reader)
First - Prev - Next - M.list - Ao3
Summary: Karasuno High School hands back final exam results.
Warnings: blanket series warnings
Words: ~2700
It's a bit of a good news-bad news sandwich on test result day. Two rows ahead of you, you watch Yachi physically vibrate in her chair. It takes until she gets her exam back and she neither despairs nor sighs in visible relief that you connect that she's not worried about her own results.
Good news: you passed all your exams well enough. Your scores are more than comfortably high, not exactly topping the class but not embarrassing if someone were to catch sight of your paper. You've even got a few points over Yachi when you compare scores, a fact which makes you swell just a touch with pride.
That was the first set of good news.
The bad news comes when classes let out. You follow the dark aura and scent of despair out of the classroom with Yachi, and the source of her anxiety makes itself known: Tsukishima is openly laughing at Hinata and Kageyama while Yamaguchi is silently disappointed beside him. Hinata looks dead. Kageyama looks as grumpy as usual, if not a bit more so.
At the sight of both of you, Hinata visibly flinches. "Yachi-san… [surname]-san… How'd you do?"
"Fine," you shrug. "What's the damage?"
"One failed exam each," Yamaguchi says. "Hinata failed English, Kageyama Modern Lit."
"What!?" Yachi goes pale. "B-but—but we worked so hard on English! You were so confident!"
He refuses to meet her eyes. "I… I pleaded my case with Ono-sensei, but… I accidentally filled in the answers off by one and didn't realize until it was too late to fix it…"
"Oh, no. Let me see."
She looks over the test paper, looking closer to tears by the second. "But… Hinata… they're all correct… They would've been right…"
"I'm so sorry, Yachi-san… all your hard work went to waste…"
Tsukishima just laughs. "Looks like the king and the shrimp won't be coming with us to Tokyo after all. How sad."
"D-don't make fun of them!" Yachi cries. "They worked so hard for this!"
You nod to Kageyama. "Show me?"
As the others bicker, you look over Kageyama's paper. "So, what, you spent all your time focusing on the stuff you were already sort of good at and didn't spend any time on the other areas you'd be tested on?"
You don't get a response. When you look up, mysteriously both Hinata and Kageyama have disappeared.
A long sigh. "Which way did they go?"
Yamaguchi points down the hall. "I think they were headed towards the faculty floor."
"Got it. Hold this." You pass off Kageyama's test paper and march after them.
You find them—where else?—harassing the vice principal.¹⁴ Without a second thought, you've grabbed both by the necks of their uniforms and roughly pulled them back. "You're both acting stupid. Stop that."
"B-but [surname]-san—if he doesn't take it off—"
The VP looks increasingly distressed by the second. You shove your way between the two boys, press a hand firmly to each mouth. "I am so sorry, Sensei. They're a little stupid, but I promise they're good people. Just, uh, a bit panicking right now. I think they're asking if you'll make an exception for them for when they have to take their make-up exams so it doesn't conflict with club activities."
He clears his throat, adjusts his toupee. You pointedly avoid looking at it. "There will be no exceptions. What club is this that they're so worked up about? Volleyball?"
You bow your head. "Yes, sir. I understand. It's a shame, but—"
Kageyama struggles under your hand, whatever protest he has muffled. You smile at him coldly, pressing your hand against his mouth harder.
"—as I was saying, it's a shame, but we're just going to have to work hard together so you two do well on your makeup exams, right?"
The two nod reluctantly.
"I'm so sorry for the trouble, Sensei. It won't happen again. Are you two going to behave if I take my hands off your mouths?"
Two more reluctant nods. You remove your hands from their mouths, but keep them resting on their shoulders. "Now apologize for troubling him."
"We're sorry…"
You bow to him, drag the two off before they can protest or bother him any more than they already have. By the time you get them back to where you'd all been before they ran off, the other three haven't dispersed. Yachi is still despairing; Yamaguchi is looking over Kageyama's exam. Tsukishima apparently just doesn't have anywhere better to be.
"Why do they look like you just ripped them a new one?"
"I found them harassing the vice principal," you say.
"If he won't rescind it, then…"
You bap the back of his head. "Whatever's going on in your head, quit it. Use that energy to figure out how you're going to pass the retakes. Okay?"
"Right…"
"For now, pretty sure all of us need to get going. Practice and all that. And…" Fuck. Practice, where you'll hear from Tanaka and Nishinoya about their exam scores. You can't take any more bad news today. "…once we know the extent of the damage, we'll come up with a game plan after practice."
~
You step into the gym with a heavy heart. Hinata and Kageyama gave their news, sure, but you're genuinely sort of afraid for the news from Tanaka and Nishinoya.
No. They'll be fine. I mean, they were working so hard, and—
Still. Hinata and Kageyama worked hard. So—
The third step into the gym sees your breath leaving your lungs and your feet leaving the floor, a full tackle that you were neither expecting nor prepared for.
"[name]-san! I passed!"
The world spins around you—you yelp as you're fully spun and set back down, bracing yourself against an exuberant Noya. "Hello to you too—you what?"
"I passed!"
You blink, the realization taking a moment to sink in. Then, you're flinging your arms around his shoulders with a squeal, hugging him tight. "You passed! That's amazing! I told you you were gonna be fine!"
The noise that comes out of his mouth is stammery and stilted, and you pull away. "Uh, Senpai? You good?"
Ah. A forbidden red stains his cheeks as he collects himself. "Uh, yeah! Yeah, no, I—I'm good, uh—"
You arch a brow. "You're being weird."
"Not weird! Just—you know. Marry me."
You stifle a laugh, put a step or two of distance between you. "Keep working hard, ask another nine hundred and seventy-three times, and sure. I'll think about it."
~
The other bit of good news is that Tanaka also passed his exams. That leaves you with just Hinata and Kageyama to drill for the next week. As the other first years talk in Sakanoshita, you lock in, dutifully copying their exams by hand. Noya's here, too, as is Ennoshita—every now and then, someone tries to pull you into the conversation, but you're busy and they're just going to have to get that.
Yachi is in the middle of some heartfelt speech about how this must be the reason she's in the advanced courses and of course she'll help when you rip a page out of your notebook. She startles—quite comically—and you sort of feel bad for interrupting her as you hand a paper over to Hinata.
"Here."
"Here…?" He looks it over slowly.
You're already scribbling the same thing for Kageyama on the next page. "It's a list of focus points for studying and a suggested amount of time to spend studying on each topic. I based it on the composition of the original exam and what you got actually wrong, after re-grading your exam based on you marking answers correctly. Study lengths are based on a rough idea of how much free study time you actually have between now and the make-up exam, assuming a decent sleep schedule and going to bed early the night before your retake. Also, assuming you actually take regular breaks and only get sidetracked once or twice. If you have any questions you've got my number also. I can make some practice exams for you guys, but I need more time for that."
"[surname]-san…"
"Kageyama-san, if you'll hold for a little, I'm making up a list for you, too. They're personalized so I can't just give you both the same list. Also, you know, different subjects."
"This is amazing," Hinata breathes. "You did all that that fast?"
A shrug. "I was working through them in my head a little during practice, since I got to see your tests right after class let out."
"I'm not quite as good at studying, but I can help out, too," Yamaguchi offers.
"R-right, yeah, we'll all help out!" Yachi says. "I want to go to Tokyo with everyone, so, I mean, if [surname]-chan needs any support—"
"I'm not, like, supplanting you," you say mildly, not looking up from Kageyama's list. "Just giving direction. It'd actually be useful to have multiple of us working on helping out. I can't host for studying or anything, and these two tend to get distracted with proximity and are working on different subjects, so it's better that we split them up anyways."
"Oh, that makes sense! Then…"
"Who do we actually have to help?"
You glance up. Yamaguchi, Noya, Ennoshita, and Yachi are on board to help out. "Cool. We'll split up, then. Yachi-san, you're good with English. You take Hinata?"
She nods.
"Great. I'll handle Kageyama-san. As for the rest of you—"
"I'll help with Kageyama!" Noya interrupts, speaking quickly.
You roll your eyes. "Yeah, you would say that. You did do a good job with Modern Lit when you were focusing on it, anyway, though I think you're probably better at language learning in the long run."
Yamaguchi raises a reluctant hand. "Um, I could probably… help Hinata?"
Ennoshita glances between you and Noya, looking tired. "Are you able to handle Nishinoya?"
You scoff. "He's hardly an issue."
"Guys, I think that means she—"
"If he gets in the way, I'll go for the gut," you finish.
Noya freezes, looking at you like he's experiencing just the slightest twinge of fear. You smile sweetly, turn your attention back to the others. "In any case, if your only worry is whether I can corral this one and tutor Kageyama while actually being useful, go ahead and help out Hinata."
"Alright then. I'll help with Hinata."
So it becomes this again: you, getting rid of your time by tutoring another easily-frustrated volleyball guy. Noya makes it fun, you keep it on track, and you walk away from Sakanoshita that night with the promise given that you'll have practice exams ready for them as soon as possible.
"You can, like, sleep at some point, you know?" Ennoshita comments as you begin the slow walk home.
"Huh? I'm sleeping fine."
"You're just taking on a lot, aren't you?"
You shrug. "It's fine. I don't sleep a lot anyway."
And you don't: you're going to be up, sitting with your bedroom door cracked and the light off, listening out until you hear your dad's keys in the door, heart not slowing enough to sleep until you know he's home. You've got plenty of time between dinner and then, and it's more than enough to dig up a few practice exams and cobble them together into something closer to what the boys need.
It's better than your normal night. Better than cooking and cleaning until the house sparkles, better than studying until you give yourself a headache, better than moving to set down your pencil and remembering no words, just the disappointment that came with a bad report card, just the tragedy that followed.
Keep your grades up, keep him alive, keep vigilant.
And now: keep being useful for the team.
~
So you keep working hard. You earn another joking marriage proposal tying your shoes, still more at random, and get detailed reports from the others on how Hinata's doing and what areas it would be good to test him on. You lock in hard, determined to prove… something. That you're just as good as Miss Professional Posters, maybe. But the less-than-two weeks you get to get these boys ready for their retakes is used well enough. Lunch on the roof when the weather's good, Noya being serious in his aid as the two of you lean over Kageyama and his notes and help him out. Noya takes him before practice in the club room—a realm you are not to enter—and afterwards, you pile into Sakanoshita with the blessing of the coach and continue drilling him.
Each night, more work. You get Yachi's number, talk on the phone with her over dinner or scrubbing a bathtub or making sure your father's futon is clean about how Hinata's doing, and for a week and a half, you don't have time to think and life is easy. Your birthday comes and goes, you selfishly request another Soba picture from Noya as your one and only birthday present and don't mention why.¹⁵
So you're actually a little sad when the day comes to leave for the Tokyo camp. For a week and a half, you had a project. You leave a reminder note in the genkan, right next to where your father usually puts down his keys: leaving for Tokyo tonight. Be back the day after tomorrow.
You don't expect him to notice.
Kageyama and Hinata show up to the departure. It's five in the morning, and they're here. Their exams are in four hours, and they're here to watch the rest of you leave for Tokyo.
"So what part of 'get good sleep the night before' means 'be here at five AM' to you two?" you ask, rubbing sleep from the corner of your eye. "Just for future reference so I can avoid it."
"W-we're going to study before the exam!" Hinata protests.
You sigh. "I can't fault you for enthusiasm, I guess. But the sleep advice was for a reason. You two went to bed early last night?"
Two determined nods. "Of course!"
"Good. You've both been working hard, so mark your papers carefully and don't rush, alright? You have enough time, and rushing is just going to screw you up."
"Right."
"You hear that, Hinata—"
"Kageyama-san," you interrupt sharply. "No fighting before six AM. You boys ate breakfast?"
Half a second's guilt has your hand plunging into your bag. "Ridiculous, both of you. Here."
"You're like, really responsible," Hinata comments as you thrust two protein bars at them. "Are you really the same age as us?"
"Not unless we share a birthday, I'm not," you reply.
They each take a protein bar, nodding their thanks.
"We'll see you later today. Make it count."
You climb onto the bus, sit away from Shimizu and Yachi in the single seat across the aisle, and pull out a book.
There's no way in hell you sleep on the way.
Footnotes
14. OVA content, baby! They're technically non-canon but they're fun so I'm keeping what I like and scrapping the rest.
15. I waffled on this one for a bit but for later plot purposes I did actually need to establish this reader's birthday. Officially, it's July 7th. I did like, a whole birth chart and shit for this reader that I immediately lost and then made different decisions about her personality as a reader, but what I do know for sure is that I did all that work to come up with the ideal date (shit like wanting her to have a doubled birthday like Noya's on 10/10 and her needing to be a certain age by certain plot points) and then looked at the date on my monitor and it was, in fact, 7/7. In a sense it's sort of neat that the reader's birthday was also the day I did a lot of the work making her into a real character.
Reigen finds himself leaning more on Mob as they walk toward where the others are. Every step he takes brings pain to his body, especially his feet.
He sees Ekubo in the corner of his eye, silently asking permission to possess his body, and he shakes his head, mouthing that he's fine and a reassuring smile on his face. It doesn't seem to work since Ekubo looks more worried about him.
Reigen rolls his eyes, before turning his head towards Mob. The boy has been silent since he cried after getting rejected by his crush. He thought Mob would not accept him anymore after confessing he never had any psychic powers.
He was mistaken. Mob is too kind to do that.
But still—
The corner of Reigen's vision darkens, and he stumbles just a bit, having tripped on a small rock in front of him.
"Are you okay, Shishou?" Mob asked as he turned to look at Reigen when the man stopped moving.
Reigen looks at Mob with a small grin and nods. "I'm fine, Mob. I just tripped over a rock." He doesn't say anything about how his headache worsens or how his feet hurt from stepping on rocks and debris.
Mob continues to look at him, his lips pressed into a thin line. It looks like he wants to ask him something, but he nods instead.
They continue walking, and it takes longer than usual. Reigen's pace has slowed down significantly and since he is using Mob as a support to keep walking, Mob has also slowed down in his walking.
Ekubo hovers near Reigen's side, staying quiet. Although Ekubo isn't saying anything, Reigen can feel the disappointment of not telling Mob the truth that he is feeling immense pain.
He ignores the worried glances he receives from Mob and Ekubo and the way he finds himself having a harder time breathing evenly.
He feels his muscles straining as he takes one step and another, a repeated motion that he counts in his head to keep himself conscious. He is limping, his foot raised by a little bit so he doesn't touch the ground too much.
He has stopped bleeding, but he knows he lost enough blood to make his head woozy.
The adrenaline in his veins is wearing off, but he forces himself to move even when all he wants is to lie down and close his eyes.
Reigen doesn't know how long they have been walking (or floating, in Ekubo's case), but it is long enough for him to hear Serizawa faintly calling for his name. He looks up just to see Serizawa running towards them, his expression full of worry, his psychic aura spiraling out of control.
The umbrella is long forgotten on the ground as Reigen finds himself being pulled away from Mob, large arms wrapping around his body and pulled closer to Serizawa's chest.
"Don't do that again, Reigen-san," Serizawa shakily says while his body trembles. "I thought that you—"
"I'm fine, Serizawa," Reigen interrupts him before Serizawa spirals even more, although it is muffled since his face is pressed against Serizawa's chest. His hands fall limp, unable to find enough energy to reciprocate the gesture.
He is tired and trying to reassure his psychic and ghost companions is taking him a lot of effort to do.
Serizawa spinning him around isn't helping either. It's nauseating.
He would've vomited right then and there if Serizawa didn't stop and settled him down nicely once he realized they were floating a little bit from the ground.
"I'm sorry–" Serizawa apologizes as he unwraps his arms around Reigen. His hands never leave Reigen's body, keeping them on the shoulder.
Reigen puts his arm around Serizawa's shoulder, using him as support. "It's fine, Serizawa." He turns to Mob and Ekubo. "Let's go find your brother, Mob."
Mob nods as he rubs his eye. He is tired.
Reigen can relate to that. He, too, is also tired.
He does not let it show on his face as they walk farther from the destruction and to the bridge where Mob last remembered he encountered Ritsu as ???%.
They see Ritsu being held by their parents. He is not as heavily injured as the others, just minor bruises and scratches. Still, it does not stop Mob from looking at Ritsu with worry and hesitation to reunite with his family.
And Reigen knows this. He looks at Mob and gently says, "Go to them, Mob."
Mob turns to Reigen with a small frown. "But Shishou—"
"They won't be mad at you," Reigen gives him a reassuring pat on the shoulder. "Now, go to them."
Mob nods, then walks towards his family and hesitantly calls out for them. They turn around and run towards Mob. They give him hugs and kisses while whispering their reassurance and worries. Mob turns to Ritsu and apologizes, but Ritsu reassures him. They hug each other as Mob continues to apologize for the destruction he caused while his family continues to reassure him.
The parents turn to see Reigen and Serizawa and they rush to thank them for taking care of Mob. Serizawa gives Reigen all the credit, but Reigen waves them off.
They invite them to the Kageyama residence, but Reigen politely declines the offer.
They ask about his injuries and Reigen lies and tells them they're not that serious.
They don't look convinced by his words, but they nod and tell them to take care of themselves before leaving; Mob has been carried on the back since he passed out from exhaustion.
Reigen waits for the Kageyama family to leave before he slumps to the ground as a grunt of pain escapes his lips. He had accidentally stood on his injured foot while he was talking to the Kageyama parents.
"Reigen-san?!" Serizawa exclaims as he grabs a hold of Reigen's arm, preventing him from falling to the ground.
"I'm—fine." Reigen grits his teeth, his words slurring and vision blurring.
"No, you're not." Ekubo shakes his form with a frown. "I possessed your body for a short period, Reigen, and in that short time, it was hard to move." He floats closer to Reigen. "It's a wonder how you managed to get this far without passing out in the pain."
Reigen chuckles. "I've dealt with worse." What a liar.
"We need to get you to the hospital, Reigen-san." Serizawa uses his psychic ability and an aura surrounds Reigen as he slowly floats a few inches from the ground.
Reigen finds himself weightless and it takes him longer than he'd like for Serizawa's word to process his mind. "No—" he protested weakly as he lifted his hand to shake his pointer finger. If he were to shake his head, he would feel the dizziness return. "I c'n jus'... patch this up… at 'r… off'ce…"
"Reigen-san…" Serizawa frowns, displeased with Reigen's stubbornness. He turns to Ekubo for assistance, but even Ekubo shakes his form and frowns.
"He won't listen, even if we try to convince him."
Serizawa sighs and nods. "Alright… let's get you to the office, Reigen-sa—" He stops when he turns to Reigen and sees him already unconscious.
Serizawa turns to Ekubo. "Hospital?"
Ekubo nods. "Hospital."
And off they go, with an unconscious Reigen floating and Ekubo keeping an eye on him as Serizawa leads them to the nearest hospital that he can find.
A/N: HAPPY LATE BIRTHDAY, REIGEN!!
I tried to get this out on the day itself, but I struggled writing the characters and college work piled up a bit. I'm super duper delayed on the entries, but i'll try to get them out as much as i can!
i wish i could say the final product is nice, but i still don't like the way i wrote them.
KinKuniKage - 3K Trio
Kageyama's lips are so soft and may be too soft that if you kiss him a bit too rough his lips will bruise easily and sometimes they can taste the blood from his lips in their mouth.
Kindaichi loves to kiss roughly and make his enemy whimper from the lack of oxygen while Kunimi loves to bite his lips and his tongue till he draws the blood from the blue-eyed setter and hears his crying voice from pain.
The red on his bruised lips aroused their desire to kiss him more and more, over and over, again and again.
They always teach Kageyama's body and his brain little bit by bit and now they can bring him to orgasm easily just by kissing without touching his sensitive part.
They love the feeling of domination especially when the Karasuno's setter cries and begs them to stop kissing cause his lips are hurt.
How can they stop bullying him when it's enjoyable and they feel so satisfied like this?
The kissing is just a starting point, there are a lot of lessons that they want to teach Kageyama's body and make him break bit by bit.
Soon, they will start teaching him the next lesson and make his body can't live without their touch.
So I found this around, can I ask for Merthur & Kagehina?
♥ Send a ship and I'll give you who:
- Gives nose/forehead kisses
- Gets jealous the most
- Picks the other up from the bar when they’re too drunk to drive
- Takes care of on sick days
- Drags the other person out into the water on beach day
- Gives unprompted massages
- Drives/rides shotgun
- Brings the other lunch at work
- Has the better parental relationship
- Tries to start role-playing in bed
- Embarrassingly drunk dancer
- Still cries watching Titanic
- Firmly believes in couples costumes
- Breaks the expensive gift rule during Christmas
- Makes the other eat breakfast
- Remembers anniversaries
- Brings up having kids
Ohhh this is gonna be so fun to answer, thank you for this wonderful ask!! ❤️❤️
1. Gives nose/forehead kisses
Kagehina: Both, for sure! Kageyama is at the perfect height to give Hinata forehead kisses and Hinata kisses Kageyama's forehead because he's baby.
Merthur: Arthur!!! He's just the type, yknow?
2. Gets jealous the most
Kagehina: Hinata. No contest. His jealousy is canon too.
Merthur: Merlin. Again, very canon.
3. Picks the other up from the bar when they're too drunk to drive
Kagehina: Kageyama. I don't think he'd like drinking that much so he rarely ever gets drunk, whereas Hinata seems like the kind of person who loves partying.
Merthur: I can imagine this for both :')
4. Takes care of on sick days
Kagehina: Both both BOTH!!
Merthur: Once again both, but Merlin is better at it.
5. Drags the other person out into the water on beach day
Kagehina: Hinata!! He's a beach boy! And also Kageyama not being able to swim and being scared of water is a cute thought.
Merthur: Arthur! (Not to make any Avalon Lake jokes here heheh). Anyway, Arthur just seems a bit more athletic and outgoing, while Merlin probably wants to chill under a beach umbrella with a nice book.
6. Gives unprompted massages
Kagehina: Both. They're both professional athletes so the chances of their bodies being sore and needing a nice massage are high, and they're both good at it too! :)
Merthur: Merlin, which is probably canon since he's Arthur's manservant and Arthur is a knight sooooo
7. Drives/rides shotgun
Kagehina: Hinata driving is An Important Concept for me, so yes, he's the one who drives and Kageyama rides shotgun trying not let his competence kink get activated (and failing).
Merthur: Arthur drives, and I know he loves it too. Him being rich in most AUs means that I can see him being really into high-end racecars too. Merlin probably never learned how to drive and prefers a bicycle or something instead.
8. Brings the other lunch at work
Kagehina: Neither? Their definition of work is very different lmao
Merthur: Merlin if we're going the canon route xD
9. Has the better parental relationship
Kagehina: Hinata :') We never even see Kageyama's parents and it makes me so curious about his family life.
Merthur: Merlin, of course! Hunith is the best mom <3 and let's not even talk about Arthur's relationship with Uther.
10. Tries to start role-playing in bed
Kagehina: Hinata, but it fails BADLY. I've actually read the most hilarious fic about this.
Merthur: Merlin, and once again, it fails BADLY. If we're talking canon, he probably tries to reverse their roles and Arthur has to play the manservant ;)
11. Embarrassingly drunk dancer
Kagehina: HINATAAAAA
Merthur: MERLINNNN
12. Still cries watching Titanic
Kagehina: Both. (Kageyama's a secret softie)
Merthur: Arthur. (He's a hopeless romantic)
13. Firmly believes in couples costumes
Kagehina: Hinata, probably xD Kageyama does not care about stuff like this.
Merthur: Nah, neither.
14. Breaks the expensive gift rule during Christmas
Kagehina: Neither, because they don't want to lose to the other by breaking a rule in the gift-giving competition.
Merthur: I shouldn't even have to say this but Arthur.
15. Makes the other eat breakfast
Kagehina: Neither of them needs to be made to eat, let's be real. They're healthy boys!
Merthur: Arthur, because Merlin always forgets to eat proper meals and take care of himself.
16. Remembers anniversaries
Kagehina: Hmm, I can see both for this? Hinata is sentimental like that, but Kageyama is so organised that I think he'd have reminders for all important events while Hinata's a bit careless.
Merthur: BOTH!!
17. Brings up having kids
Kagehina: Oh, I have so many thoughts about this, but let me just say Hinata for now. (Kageyama takes a little convincing.)
Merthur: Arthur. I know he yearns for a family :((
Mrs. Kageyama Reaches ???%
People have different sides to them. Mrs. Kageyama is fine with that. She knew getting into motherhood that her kids would bring some things to their parents, and other things, they’d want to deal with on their own. That’s fine. That’s what people do!
She, for instance, worries over her kids out loud, in front of them, but only about the little things. Bumps and scrapes. Bent spoons, dropped dishes. Not the big things. She locks the big things away like an adult, only letting them out a little bit at a time so she doesn’t explode. She whispers to her husband in the dark when the kids won’t overhear them: are there any psychics in your family? Do you think your parents would know anything about how to help Shige?
As far as either Kageyama parent can tell, there aren’t any psychics in their extended families at all. Shigeo Kageyama was the first person out of the ordinary in both entire bloodlines, all the way back to the farmers (on Mrs. Kageyama’s side) and fishermen (on Mr. Kageyama’s side) who started keeping records of their family lines. And oh, it worries Mrs. Kageyama that she doesn’t know how to connect with that side of him.
There’s nothing she can do. Shigeo floats in the air as a baby, and Mr. Kageyama pulls him down like a balloon, but he floats right back up again, and there’s nothing Mrs. Kageyama can do but wait until her baby gets hungry and comes down to her again.
As a toddler, Shigeo talks to things Mrs. Kageyama couldn’t see. He repeats swear words she couldn’t hear the spirits teaching him. Actually, in that case, there is something she could do; one conversation later, Shigeo understands some social niceties he didn’t know about before.
But she can’t help with the root problem of the spirits who teach him words that he shouldn’t know. She wishes she was a psychic, too, not because it seems like fun—it certainly doesn’t, not to her—but because at least she would know what her son was dealing with.
But it isn’t that big of a deal, probably. Shige manages fine. He floats potato chips around to make Ritsu laugh and levitates all the small objects around him when he cries. It’s just another side of him. Shigeo is clearly bothered when other kids think he’s weird, but the Kageyamas let him deal with that by himself. All they can do, really, is keep loving him, feeding him, and making sure he gets to bed on time. The rest will sort itself out. Some things just wouldn’t be helped by parents getting involved.
Shigeo gets quieter as he got older. He still smiles and plays, but he doesn’t laugh out loud as much. He got self-conscious, Mrs. Kageyama thinks, because of those other little kids. Part of Mrs. Kageyama wishes she could talk to him about it, but that’s not how these things are done. Even if she tried to coax Shigeo’s hidden hurt feelings out into the open, all the parenting advice says that that would just stop him from developing the strength to deal with it on his own. And besides, real adults don’t make their children deal with their parents’ emotions.
So she hides that side of herself away. She whispers to her dear husband late at night, what if Shigeo is actually being bullied? What’s the point where we should step in?
He doesn’t know. He says, I think the boy is doing fine for now. Let’s let him socialize by himself for a while. She agrees. They let him socialize by himself. Sometimes he comes home from the park muted and weary, but he usually perks up once he’s eaten dinner, and Ritsu never fails to get a smile out of Shige.
Ritsu can connect with that side of Shigeo that Mrs. Kageyama can’t. His delight in his brother’s powers makes Shigeo smile where Mrs. Kageyama’s loving concern would just be smothering. So that’s all right. Different people can help with different needs.
Shige and Ritsu are good kids. They’re good kids, and they love each other, and they love their parents. But there are things they don’t come to their parents for. And that’s natural.
One New Year’s Day, Mrs. Kageyama got a call from a concerned neighbor and rushed to her sons. She found Shigeo standing stunned, blank-eyed, a few feet away from Ritsu, who was bleeding heavily from a head wound. Head wounds bleed a lot, she was informed by the doctors who stitched Ritsu’s precious little head up. That’s normal.
There was more blood on the ground than what could be explained by Ritsu’s head. Since she didn’t have to do anything about it, Mrs. Kageyama allowed herself to forget that fact. And then she forgot it again whenever she thought of it. Forcefully.
Ritsu didn’t explain what happened. He just went along with his mother and the doctors in a stunned, disbelieving kind of silence. He was a model patient, the doctors said.
Alarmingly, Shigeo didn’t explain what happened, either.
Mrs. Kageyama scrubbed the blood off his face in the hospital bathroom, and he didn’t resist at all. His hair didn’t rise up off his forehead in discomfort, and nothing floated, not even the water from the sink.
She squinted at him. Something was strange about him. Looking into his cast-down eyes, she could almost see something behind Shigeo’s blank expression. Something…
Something…
“Shige…?”
Shigeo made dull eye contact, and for a moment she saw with perfect clarity a boy behind his eyes, a boy with white eyes, screaming.
And then she un-saw it. Forcefully.
After all, there was nothing she could do; everyone has different sides to them, and that’s normal. Not everyone can deal with all the sides of everyone else.
After that, something is different in the Kageyama household. It feels almost like the boys had hit puberty early. Mrs. Kageyama heard from other mothers and parenting books about teenagers, how difficult they were, almost like they became different people overnight. It’s like that with Shigeo and Ritsu, only they’re still baby-faced little boys, not teenagers at all.
The tendency Shigeo always had to turn into a muted shadow of himself after a particularly hard day becomes the norm. He’s quiet. Too quiet. He’s calm. Too calm. He doesn’t laugh at all anymore. It becomes hard to remember that Shigeo was ever genuinely, visibly happy. His smiles at dinner are muted, his eyes always tired, even when he’s thanking Ritsu for unbending his spoons.
He doesn’t use his powers anymore. Not on purpose, anyway.
It hurts the side of Mrs. Kageyama that she has hidden away, the side that wants to stare deep into Shigeo’s eyes and talk to him honestly, to show him her overpowering concern for the part of himself that Shigeo doesn’t come to her for help with.
It’s not like he’s a teenage delinquent or anything, though. He’s perfectly polite. In some ways, he’s exactly the same as before. He still returns from school tired and distant but cheers up at the dinner table, even though his expressions are subtler, nowadays.
But unlike before, Ritsu can’t cheer Shigeo up.
It’s similar with Ritsu: it’s impossible to explain to other mothers how he’s changed. He’s still a model child. He’s still cheerful and helpful and nice. He just…
Sometimes Mrs. Kageyama hears him crying at night. Sometimes she catches sight of him staring at objects with such a fierce expression that she knows instantly what he’s trying to do.
The parenting advice doesn’t cover what you do when one of your children hurt the other one but both of them refuse to acknowledge that anything is wrong. The parenting advice says that if your children are angry at each other, you should give them some advice but mostly let them work it out on their own. But what if they don’t work it out? What if they never even try? There’s nothing to say.
Their family name, Kageyama, begins to seem like a cruel joke. Kage, shadow, figure, dark omen; yama, mountain, something huge and powerful. Mr. Kageyama is the one who points that out, late at night, whispering to his wife. He asks, do you think we’re cursed? Our family?
She lies, No, I think we’re fine. This is pretty normal, I think. People have different sides to them.
He thinks that over. I think you’re right. This is just… like puberty.
Now that the boys are middle schoolers, “puberty” becomes an excellent excuse to explain why the boys don’t share their other sides with their parents or each other. Everyone in the household embraces the excuse with relief.
Ritsu gets good grades. Excellent grades. He’s diligent. Too diligent. He’s a perfect son and brother. Too perfect. Everyone accepts it.
It’s been years since the New Years incident, and Ritsu and Mob—Shigeo goes by Mob at school, Mrs. Kageyama learns from his homeroom teacher—still treat each other with polite respect and no genuineness.
And—Mob? Mob? It’s a name of no identity. Mrs. Kageyama finds that nickname more and more saddening as her son’s other side drifts further and further out of reach. She calls him Shige at the dinner table and he smiles. There’s a shadow self behind his eyes, just as there’s a shadow self behind Mrs. Kageyama’s eyes.
But, after all, people have different sides to them, and that’s only natural. It used to be Ritsu who could make Shigeo happy about his powers, who could touch that side of him that Mrs. Kageyama cannot. Now, there’s someone else in her son’s life who does that: one Reigen Arataka. Her son’s after-school part-time employer and master in the psychic arts.
Shigeo doesn’t show his psychic powers to his parents, not on purpose, anyway, but she’s so, so glad he has somewhere to go to use that part of him. He’s hard to read, but Mrs. Kageyama thinks he gets something really good out of those after-school consultation hours. He often comes home thoughtful, or happier, his shoulders a little lighter, the shadow self behind his eyes not so noticeably unhappy.
She’s happy Reigen Arataka is in her son’s life.
It’s a tremendous relief when Shigeo begins to blossom in middle school. He joins a club. A club! It’s amazing!
Of all things, he chose the Body Improvement Club, which baffles Mrs. Kageyama. Shige has never been… athletic. But she’s not complaining. She’s happy for him. She nearly gasps out loud, one night, when Shigeo tentatively refers to some girl associated with (but not part of?) the Body Improvement Club, Tome Kurata, as his friend.
She nearly gasps out loud, but not quite. She hides her true excitement in that other side of herself. Her shadow self and Shigeo’s shadow self are similar, she thinks—they’re too much for the dinner table. The dinner table is a place of relaxation. Never, never does any Kageyama disturb the sacred peace of the relaxed atmosphere of the dinner table.
Which is why it’s so strange when Ritsu starts acting up and declines to eat dinner with the family.
Something is going on with Ritsu. There’s another side to him, too, but it’s locked away where Mrs. Kageyama can barely even see it. Sometimes, she forgets it’s even there. She’s ashamed of that, but there it is: Shigeo’s troubles are so much more obvious and clear-cut than Ritsu’s that… well… anyway, it becomes obvious that something is going on with Ritsu.
His grins are sharp, his eyes deadly, mannerisms completely changed. It’s as if he doesn’t realize that Mr. and Mrs. Kageyama know him. It’s as if Ritsu doesn’t realize that his parents watch both their sons closely, knowing they’re going through things that they can’t help with because they’re just normal parents and you have to let your children work things out on their own.
Mrs. Kageyama begins to wonder if Ritsu is going to confront Shigeo, finally, with the way Ritsu looks at his brother, eyes venomous. She hopes nothing bad happens. So does her husband.
But then something good happens. Something involving Reigen Arataka and psychic powers, if Mrs. Kageyama had to bet. Shigeo and Ritsu miss dinner. They come home late at night, and in the darkness, straining her ears, tense all over so that she doesn’t make a sound and scare her sons off, she hears Ritsu and Shige stopping in the hall. She hears Ritsu say goodnight, Nii-san, and Shigeo answer, mm. goodnight, Ritsu. And then—amazingly—there’s a cloth-muffled thump that might have been someone clapping someone else on the shoulder, and a quiet, happy huff that can’t have been anyone but Ritsu.
Shige doesn’t touch Ritsu. He never touches Ritsu anymore.
And yet—!
Maybe kids do work things out on their own.
After the boys’ doors close, Mr. Kageyama shifts and hugs Mrs. Kageyama tight in sheer relief. She hugs him back, fiercely, silently, choked up. She’s close to tears.
The next day, Ritsu…. Ritsu has powers. He doesn’t show them off in front of his parents, but Shigeo accidentally bends a spoon at dinner, and while Mrs. Kageyama is scolding him and arguing with Mr. Kageyama in their well-worn, comfortable ritual, Ritsu takes the spoon and just looks at it, and it unbends with a happy little flourish.
Mrs. Kageyama is so happy she could cry, and probably will cry, later, actually, when the boys aren’t around to catch her. At the dinner table, she just lets those feelings slide into her other self and grumbles, “What’s with these kids?” to make them smile.
“Here, Nii-san,” Ritsu says.
“Thanks, Ritsu,” Shigeo says, accepting the spoon. And he smiles.
Shigeo continues to change. He comes out of his shell, little by little. Ritsu gets happier, seeming younger every day. Shigeo’s friends become a bigger part of his life. He starts leaving the house not only for Reigen Arataka but for his friends, not just for the club activities, either, but for karaoke, to go out for ramen, and just to hang out.
More psychic incidents happen. The Kageyama parents can’t help with that, but they can make dinner. They can tease Shige and Ritsu about their powers. They can watch, knowing something is wrong but not pressing Shigeo on it, when he comes home from a job one day with something deep and thoughtful in his eyes. Shigeo starts drinking water instead of milk for a few days. He flinches at the sound of crows and shies away when people move too fast. Mrs. Kageyama is torn in half with the desire to ask him about it, but she doesn’t. Shigeo deals with it on his own.
Shigeo temporarily quits working with Reigen Arataka, and the Kageyamas provide a no-questions-asked, relaxed atmosphere for Shigeo to come home to. It seems to help. They see Shigeo playing video games with Ritsu and they know that Shigeo and Ritsu are going to be fine. They’re taking care of each other, better than their parents can, in some ways. Kids are resilient. Their kids are resilient. They’re so proud of them. They don’t tell them how much they know.
They cheer for Shigeo at the school marathon with all their hearts, even though the sight of him with a skinned knee gives Mrs. Kageyama a jolt of pure terror. Well, he seems to have it under control now. He doesn’t even see them as he keeps running. He’s so big.
When Ritsu opens the door to a red-headed and clearly psychic “friend of his” they’ve never heard of before and looks at them with terror in his eyes, they pretend to believe him when he asks them to leave for a spur-of-the-moment onsen trip.
Maybe it’s selfish. Mrs. Kageyama asks her husband that as they eat dinner that night, pleasantly boiled-feeling from the hot water. “Do you think it’s selfish, leaving them to deal with their psychic problems on their own?”
“Oh, they’ll be okay,” Mr. Kageyama says. “We couldn’t do anything to help them anyway. I mean, look at that!”
He points at the television, where the news is going over the psychic terrorist attack in Seasoning City yet again, with not much more information than last time. There’s live footage of police cars floating in the air.
“After all—”
The TV frizzles and fills with static. Mr. Kageyama laughs a short, helpless little laugh.
“I get it,” Mrs. Kageyama sighs. “I just worry about those boys.”
The honest side of herself writhes in pain at the understatement, but she keeps it down.
“It’s all right as long as they’re together. Shigeo will have it handled,” Mr. Kageyama says. “He’d never let Ritsu get hurt.”
There’s a moment of uncomfortable silence. In each other’s eyes, Mr. and Mrs. Kageyama see Ritsu bleeding and Shigeo with blood spattered on his face.
“That’s true,” Mrs. Kageyama says, hoping it’s true. “They’re very capable kids now.”
When Mr. and Mrs. Kageyama return home, their house has been replaced with an almost identical house. They burst into muffled laughter together in their room, covering their mouths. The pattern of the floorboards in the hall is different. How—how?
They don’t tell Shigeo and Ritsu how much they know.
Everyone has different sides to them. The Kageyama parents are at peace with this. They are at peace with the fact that they are background characters in their sons’ lives. The four Kageyamas show each other a gentle, relaxed side of themselves. It’s a sorely needed safe haven for all of them.
They could keep this up forever. Mrs. and Mr. Kageyama giggle with each other sometimes at night about how Ritsu probably won’t know they knew he was having delusions of grandeur until they’re old and gray, and maybe not even then.
Everything is alright. Still, Mrs. Kageyama sometimes misses Shigeo as a carefree little boy. Still, her shadow self yearns to connect with his.
There’s a specific kind of loneliness she thinks she shares with her older son, something not quite shared by Ritsu or her husband, although they have their own versions. She sees Ritsu use his powers to open drawers and float his school bag over, and she sees Shigeo walk across the room to get his bag, and she thinks: Shige is still stuck in his head. But she doesn’t say anything.
It’s not because of the parenting advice anymore, and it’s not because she’s worried about stunting his personal development. Shigeo is a strong person. He’s been a strong person for a long time. It’s because it’s a habit, and every time Mrs. Kageyama thinks of cornering Shigeo and just… asking him, Shige, can we talk about your powers?, she remembers that she doesn’t have powers, and how can she dare to try to connect with that side of him now, when she hasn’t really tried to do that for Shigeo’s entire life?
It’s guilt. It’s shame. It’s a habit. It’s more comfortable to stagnate.
Kids work things out on their own, right?
Besides, Shigeo isn’t repressing his emotions so much anymore, just his powers. For instance, she heard him calling Mrs. Takane, the mother of one of Mob’s childhood friends. He’s going to talk to his childhood friend again! Mrs. Kageyama is curious what he might talk to Tsubomi-chan about. Is it possible that he might finally be processing the minor bullying that used to bother him so much? But that’s probably just overthinking on her part. Shigeo doesn’t talk about it around his parents, but she’s pretty sure he used to have a crush on Tsubomi-chan, and he might still have a crush on her. Adorable. He’s growing up so fast.
When the earthquakes hit, they hit her right in the guilty conscience.
It’s Shigeo. She knows it’s him. She never really had motherly instincts, but this isn’t a motherly instinct. This is her shadow self recognizing his shadow self, which is so much like hers. The boy with white eyes, screaming. She understands what he’s doing. He’s letting out all of the destructive guilt and shame and fear and rage at himself and everything else that Mrs. Kageyama has been seeing behind his eyes for years and years.
It’s Shigeo’s shadow self, and maybe if Mrs. Kageyama had managed to be brave for once in her life and talk to him about powers, secrets, and emotions, this wouldn’t be happening.
She stares at her phone, where a grainy photo of her oldest son blurs in her vision, and she feels the sob rise in her throat and the tear drip onto the phone, obscuring the bouquet in his hand, as if someone else was doing it.
She doesn’t go out to look for him. She doesn’t have powers. She’d get killed.
It’s Reigen Arataka who brings her son home—Reigen Arataka, who she’s only met once or twice before. He’s uncharacteristically disheveled and red-eyed with crying, and his head is bleeding. Shige did that to him—it’s obvious. Shige has clearly also been crying. He looks up at his mother and father, sniffs bravely, and starts crying again.
Mrs. Kageyama kneels and hugs Shige tight. Mr. Kageyama’s arms close around her and Shigeo, encircling them, and she starts crying again.
The government gets involved, in the form of a bored-looking bald man with a strange cigarette who shows up in a helicopter. He jumps down to ground level, interrupting the crying Kageyama family and the awkwardly standing by Reigen Arataka, and says to Shigeo, “Long time no see.”
Mrs. Kageyama does not like the implication that Shigeo has met this man before.
Shigeo pushes his parents’ arms away, gently but firmly, and steps up to meet the man. He says, “I’m sorry. I’d like to help.”
“Sure, sure,” the government man says dismissively. “Might take a while to rebuild the city, but I can pretty much guarantee no one’s going to mess with you. No one died, so…” he gestures lazily with his cigarette. “This kind of thing happens every once in a while with kid espers. Just thought you might like to know.”
The government man doesn’t spare even a glance for Shigeo’s parents. They don’t ask him anything. It’s like introducing themselves might shatter the illusion of good news and make the man shout, “Gotcha! Your son is going to esper jail right now!”
The government man returns to the helicopter and lifts off. And then it’s just Shigeo, standing awkwardly on the street and not quite making eye contact with his parents, and the voice of Reigen Arataka on the phone summoning other psychics, and a man with an umbrella, “Mob”’s coworker, apparently, arriving and nervously spiriting Shigeo away to meet up with some other psychics, including the one who apparently recreated the Kageyama’s house that one time.
So they don’t address the incident immediately. Shigeo comes home that night so exhausted that he falls asleep at the table. Ritsu looks more awake, but also so dreamily happy that his parents just… don’t ask him any questions. They don’t want to disturb that happiness.
The next day, they don’t address it again. Shigeo is a heavy sleeper. He wakes up slowly, brushes his teeth, and sets off for school, which didn’t get destroyed during his shadow self’s meltdown, probably for the same reason that their house went practically untouched, though shaken, among the earthquakes. Shige doesn’t come home until very late again, and when Mrs. Kageyama gives him a bento box to eat before bed, he just says thank you. To her tentative question—were you helping with the city today, Shige?—he gives an exhausted, affirming “mm.”
He’s tired. She lets him wobble off to bed.
It doesn’t actually take very long for the city to be healed. Shige stops being tired all the time right away after his bedtime gets back to normal. He’s livelier than Mrs. Kageyama has seen him in years—smiling, joking with Ritsu, arguing with him sometimes, sulking when he feels like it. He laughs again.
He’s so different. But he’s still Shigeo. And he still has something behind his eyes. At dinner, when their eyes meet, Mrs. Kageyama’s shadow self reaches out to her son’s shadow self, still.
Which is a strange sensation, because Shigeo isn’t repressing his emotions anymore, or his powers, either. But there’s still something there, something or someone existing in reserve behind his eyes. She second-guesses herself about it at first, particularly when Mob laughs or scowls or displays his powers and emotions like he’s never thought twice about it. He seems so… whole. It’s not a child made of shadows anymore. But in other moments—when he’s watching Ritsu or when he doesn’t have much to say, when he hesitates, when he has a forgetful spell—Mrs. Kageyama is sure she sees it. Another presence within her son.
Call it motherly instincts or call it Mrs. Kageyama’s shadow self resonating with her son’s shadow self—either way, she knows. Shigeo Kageyama is still hiding another side within himself, even though that other side is happier now.
So one day, a few months after the incident, once she’s sure Shigeo is really stable like this… Mrs. Kageyama catches Shigeo before school and asks him to come home and have a talk with her after school.
He looks surprised, then nervous, then pleased.
“Yes, mom,” he says. And that’s that.
Talking to a teenager is easier than they said! That’s Mrs. Kageyama’s first, indignant thought. And then right on the heels of that thought comes what am I getting myself into?!
After school, Shigeo comes right home. Mr. Kageyama will stay at work for a while, and Ritsu has student council today; it’s the perfect time. Mrs. Kageyama sits down with her son and finds herself at a loss, not knowing exactly what to say.
Shigeo waits, watching her seriously.
“Shige,” she says, and feels her shadow self rise up in her, telling her to just break down and cry. Her voice wobbles as she tries again. “Shige, I want to tell you something. I think you’re old enough…”
Mortified alarm flashes across Shigeo’s face. Oh no! She waves her hands, trying to erase what he’s thinking.
“About your psychic powers,” she says hastily.
He looks relieved for a split second, and then his eyes widen. His hair rises up off his forehead, and she hears a slosh as something happens to the water in the sink. He’s scared? Of all things, she had not expected Shigeo to be frightened of talking about his powers. She expected him to be irritated and dismissive, like the parenting advice says that teenagers always are. The parenting advice was wrong. Again.
Suddenly reaching her limit, Mrs. Kageyama throws out all the parenting advice she’s ever heard and just… tells the truth.
“Or, ah, not about psychic powers exactly. About… Shige, I think something runs in our family, and it’s not powers, but I think you and I share it.”
Shige’s eyes grow impossibly wider. He waits like his mother is about to reveal the secrets of the universe, and in a way, she supposes, she is.
“Tell me if I’m wrong,” she says carefully. “But you have more than one “self”, don’t you?”
He opens his mouth, and nothing comes out.
Nothing at all.
Mrs. Kageyama says, “You split yourself in half, back then… I saw it happen. I’m sorry, but I didn’t know how to help, because I… I didn’t know what to do about my shadow self, either.”
“Your shadow self, mom?”
His voice is quiet, so quiet. Mrs. Kageyama nods, feeling her shadow self sob and writhe in her head. It’s an unsightly thing. It’s so possessive, so emotional. She can’t let it do whatever it wants. That would hurt her children, and she loves her children, so, so much. She would never hurt them.
“I kept it quiet because I thought…” she takes a sharp breath. “It’s too much, and I wanted to keep you and Ritsu… comfortable. Parents can’t ask their children to carry their worries.”
“What do you mean?” Shigeo asks. He sounds so young, and so hurt.
“I never asked you what it was like to have powers,” she blurts out, and the wave of guilt that follows is tremendous, but so is the relief. “I’m so sorry. I let you deal with everything on your own. I didn’t realize…”
Shigeo’s lips are trembling. He says, “Mom, you have a shadow self too?”
“You’re just like me,” she says, and how, how did she never know that honesty could feel so right? “I knew you were just like me, and I didn’t tell you. I thought you could deal with it on your own. I’m so sorry, Shige.”
“Mom,” he says, and starts crying.
To hell with parenting advice. To hell with keeping her shadow self from shattering the relaxed facade of the Kageyama household. Shigeo deserves better.
Mrs. Kageyama stumbles out of her kneeling posture and grabs her son and holds him close.
“Shige,” she says into his hair. “Shige. Shige.”
“I thought it was just me,” Shigeo gasps. “I thought it was just me in the dark.”
And, with a start, she realizes why his shadow self is different now. They switched places, didn’t they? The Shigeo she’s talking to right now is the one her shadow self used to stare at longingly across the dinner table.
“So you’re that one,” she says, with all the shaky, weepy tenderness she's been repressing for years. “Hello. I’m so pleased to finally meet you again.”
Shige sobs. Everything in the room is floating. She could cry. She does.
Then Shigeo pushes himself out of the hug and looks at his mother, trembling but clearly happy and calm in a way she’s rarely ever seen him, even when he was young.
“You're wrong,” he says. “I am myself. I accepted both parts.”
“So you’re—” Mrs. Kageyama stops, thinking that over. Does it not matter anymore, to Shigeo? Which “self” is which?
Could it not matter to her, either, someday?
Tentatively, she lets more of herself out.
“I’m so sorry, Shige. I listened to the wrong advice. I should be the one helping you figure this out, not the other way around.”
Shigeo looks her in the eye. He says, “Adults can change too. It’s not too late.”
She looks back, and in his eyes she sees both of him, and she knows that now he sees both of her too. And she is not afraid to show him.
Not anymore.
#SO I WAS THINKING ABOUT WHY EXACTLY THE KAGEYAMA PARENTS ARE SO IRRELEVANT TO THE PLOT#and I came up with this absolute bombshell of a headcanon/AU: Shigeo's mom does the exact same thing he does. she represses her knowledge#Is Mrs. Kageyama slightly psychic in a specific way where she can sense the presence of ???% and/or “Mob” within Shigeo? Maybe!!#That’s up to reader interpretation!#If she is psychic she certainly doesn't know it!#ahaha so!! Thanks for reading!! comments and sharing/reblogs are more than welcome!#the link leads to the ao3 version of this fic which is exactly the same except it's on ao3!#mob psycho 100 fanfic#mp100 fanfic#cross posted on ao3#mob-blogging#kageyama siblings' parents#kageyama siblings' mother
hi (vibrating uncontrollably w happiness) mp100 is my fav manga i legit remember where i was when it ended (i cried) and reimob is literally one of the only ships in media ever i have ever liked. you're my friend now (politely)
may i get a reiace lore dump or acemob or just anything about your self-ship lore if you'd like to :333
OMG HIII this ask made me SO happy oh my god!!!!! mob psycho is SO good i love it so much and im so glad u are also a reimob connoisseur its so so good. its basically the dynamic i base reiace on shhh its a secret (its not a secret sorry mob)
LONGISH ramble under the cut about selfship lore thats kinda disjointed thoughts and feelings and tw for mentions of age gaps, grooming, sibling incest etc
RAHH okay so i have two main "timelines" if you will for ace: one where he just, completely replaces mob and is a kageyama. for the most part, this one follows the events of the show, except with ace lol. (sorry mob i love you i swear) ace is more liberal about using his powers than mob is, and hes not quite as powerful, but hes still powerful and trusts reigen so so much. i love to play around with how they got together, but i loove ace that looks up to reigen so much and has a huge crush on him and wants to be together so bad, and eventually reigen gives innn. ace's name is aoi kageyama, and hes transmasc. hes thankful that his given name is gender-neutral, and tries to be stealth as possible (as much as a 14 y/o can). hes stealth at school, and generally people dont know, but there are rumors of course and he gets bullied for this + his powers a lot. he doesnt like fighting back with his powers so he just kinda takes it. his parents in this are very supportive, but aren't around as much, and theyre not very financially well off. this leads to lots of time with just him and ritsu alone, and they have a pretty codependent relationship as hes kinda raised him even though theyre pretty close in age. especially because even though they dont say it, ace can sense that his parents prefer ritsu; hes smarter, hes more althetic, etc.
this is why he initially sought out spirits and such; a small, frail, 10 y/o ace shows up at reigens doorstep and asks him if hed hire him, hes really good at fighting ghosts he promises! reigen takes pity on him and takes him on as his apprentice, paying him a bit more than mob gets in the show lol. ace comes to be really handy for exorcisms, and early on reigen starts calling him "ace" because hes "the ace up his sleeve" when it comes to tricky jobs!! (this is where i get my ship tags from hehe) ace really likes this name and prefers it over his given name, although he doesnt hate it per se.
as time goes on, ace hangs around the office more and more, helping reigen in his various jobs. with his parents gone so much, they start to hang out more after work too; going to dinner together, spending time together, even sleeping over or going to overnight jobs to farther away onsens and inns. they grow close, much closer, and eventually they get together!! i like reigen getting touchier and touchier until they actually do stuff and whoops cant hide your feelings about this anymore!!
(this version of things doesnt always include mob, but im including him in this bc ive been loving thinking about reimobace lately <33) in the other one, ace's name is aoi hayashi. his parents died when he was young, leaving him and his sister to live by themselves. they inherited a house and money, and are doing okay, but with just eachother their relationship gets even more intimate than it was before. his older sister is a NEET and a hikikomori, doing nothing but staying in their house and mostly in her room. shes also an esper, though not a very powerful one. she drops out of school, but ace continues, where he is bullied a lot. one day when hes around 11, he gets trapped in an alleyway by some older bullies, and his powers almost go out of control - but who would be walking by than a 28 y/o mob? mob is able to control ace's powers, deal with the bullies, and take him back to spirits and such to treat his injuries. mob and reigen are together (and have been since mob was ~15 or so) and run spirits and such together, although reigen continues to be the face of the company. (honestly i havent thought about where serizawa and tome would fit into this…so pretend theyre not here for now lmao) mob helps out with the real spirits, of course, and him and reigen are sweeties together <33 mob tells ace that hes a powerful esper too, and if he wants, he can train under him to control his powers and do some good in the world. ace is thrilled, he hasnt had any nice older figures in his life like ever, and loves the attention and care he gets from mob and reigen. and since its just him and his sister (and she barely leaves her room to know where he is at any given time anyway) he spends a lot of time with mob and reigen after work; after a certain point, its almost like he lives at their place rather than his own.
they all get together at some point; the specifics vary depending on how fucked up i wanna make it lol. right now im thinking of them grooming him to be with them, esp considering hes already been groomed and has experience, they take advantage of that (since reigen groomed mob) and its totally normal and theyre sweet. i think mob would be pretty possessive of ace; he doesnt want him to get hurt in the way hes gotten hurt before, and he also hates how ace gets bullied so often. i like to think ace gets kidnapped a lot by people trying to get to mob (since hes the worlds most powerful psychic after all) and they have to come rescue him a lot <33 reigen loves both of his younger boyfriends and i Really like the idea of ace being able to give reigen his powers like mob does in the show and then two very powerful espers have their way with him <3333333 my fav ever.
BUT YEAJ SORRY THIS IS SO LONG IM JUST VERY EXCITED feel free to send me asks anytime or dm me to ask for my discord id love to chat ab mob psycho or anything really!!!!!!!! TYSM
#dokukoi#selfshipping fun#world's greatest psychic#aces wild#the actual greatest psychic#the ace up his sleeve#ace of spades#ace of hearts#strawberry gamer#ace of swords#(shes not super mentioned in this but i wanted it in her tag lol)#also ill probably come up w a tag and come back to tag this for acerit bc i love them <33#TYSM AGAINNN AAAA
haikyuu rewatch s01e02
episode 2 wheee. i dont remember the actual details of the rest of season one as clearly as i did episode 1, i think its been 4ish years since ive properly sat down and watched each episode so this will be interesting from here on out, im excited!
lmao interesting that the first thing the camera zooms in on when hinata sees kageyama in the gym for the first time is his shoes??? and then the "karasuno" on his school pe uniform and THEN his face? were his shoes an iconic identifier to hinata?? lmaooo
rules for myself on this (or any tbh) rewatch: never skip the intro songs
i have such a special place in my heart for "imagination." it has unlocked something in my soul
honestly its such a compliment that kageyama remembers hinata, especially when we see into his thoughts a bit here and the things he remembers arent that hinata was some who cried about beating him next time they see each other, but rather he remembers hinatas crazy athletic ability and how much it irked kageyama that hinata wasnt living up to his potential lmao
this is the first indication we get that kageyama doesnt like being called 'king.' in the first ep hinata call him king to his face and kageyama doesnt react at all, but here it bothers him immediately. which of course, makes sense bc The Incident hadnt happened yet when they first met and now it has, but interesting to notice now bc i dont think i caught on to the difference my first time through. i dont think most people would lol and its a nice attention to detail
lmaooo tanaka already making faces
and whyyyy is hinata skirting around like hes trying to herd them like sheep?? ashjaska
hmmm translation error or dialogue error that tanaka is calling all three of them third years? my japanese isnt good enough to tell hmm. just checked the manga panel and its more like hes telling suga to show more 'third year intimidation' rather than including himself in that like the show's subs do. probably a translation thing where it was vague in terms of who it was referring to and that was the interpretation they went with before its confirmed that tanaka is a second year
awww yeah its nice that suga daichi and tanaka remember hinata too!! i wonder if they talked about that match afterwords lmao
"youre way short and sucked bad, but you've got guts!" "thanks!" lmaoooooo
ive never watched the dub but ive seen a few compilation videos and i cant look at this face tanaka's making and think anything other than 'cojones' lmaooo
'youve trained at this with the old ladies' ajkhsajks
waaaahhhh moment of silence for all the beautiful serve/spike pencil sketch animations that we'll never see again. you were so gorgeous and we loved you so much, im sorry youre gone
hinata slides in so quickkkkk for that receive, and ive always loved how slick and epic it looks only for the ball to immediately ricochet up into his face l m a o so good
vp's cinematic cheek ripple and flying wig is just a bonus lol
ooooo more small detail! the shot of the vp's bald head where hinata is surprised kageyama couldnt tell the hair was fake - hinata has all these little red marks on his face where the ball hit him!! nice!
also daichi is so resigned when he takes the wig off his head lmaoo
aww ive never noticed these quick shots of young daichi walking thinking about going to karasuno, cute!
the way they both immediately start begging to be let in and like 'just tell me how to be teammates ill do it!!' they love vb more than anything, they just wanna playy
kajhsaksa and kageyama literally pushing hinata away before declaring that he'll get along with him 😭 bro has no idea how to get along
"let me ask you something. are you actually stupid?" baksjhagsas hes so genuineeee, and hes right aghsajsa
oooooooo yesss love this wide shot of team practicing block follows only to pan out past the bars of the window to show hinata watching from outside yessss
"if i can play volleyball, i'll endure anything" 😭
right.. the unnecessary anime-only shimizu ""fanservice"" shots. furudate would never (and did never). interesting that this sort of thing never really happens again after a certain point. i always wondered if they realized their core audience wasnt here for that kind of thing at all so they dropped it (and bc like i said,,, its not in the manga lmao. the closest thing is the nishinoya/kanoka thing and the saeko/yachi jealousy thing and both of those are 1 for humor rather than sexualization and 2 make sense for the characters whereas this anime moment is literally just the camera being a creep for no reason lol) (you CANNOT convince me it's meant to be kageyama's pov checking her out. possibly hinata would but im still doubtful lol)
the first appearance of tanaka's big ear lmao, love that this becomes a thing whenever he's overhearing
gotta love how passionate kageyama is about being setter, fully talking with his hands lol
how did i not fall in love with tanaka sooner, i thought he was so weird and meh my first time through. i was so wrong lmao. look at him initiating them to come early to use the gym, and showing up TWO HOURS early himself with the keys??? i love himm
okay thats about it for this one, lots of fun this ep! i always forget how ridiculous the wig part is lmao, the series loses a bit of that completely over the top silliness as it goes on, but it gains humor in other ways just through the character dynamics that feel a bit more real imo so not a real loss personally
haikyuu dumpster battle movie review
btw i copied this directly from my letterboxd review lol my acc is linked here if u wanna follow me there :)
THIS IS A REWATCH REVIEW THIS IS MY SECOND TIME SEEING THE MOVIE
*cracks fingers* alright here we go i pulled out the laptop to write this review i have so much to say
this is my first rewatch of the movie and i think when i watched it the first time in the cinema i was just so hyped and happy to be watching it that i just wanted to enjoy it and i didnt really think about it too deeply you know? but now rewatching it lets me think about it more and kind of analyse it properly so :)
okay first of all !!! i spent the entirety of this movie either grinning ear to ear OR crying because i love it sm. and i do not exaggerate how much i fucking cried bc istg i would wipe the tears away and calm down and then start crying again the second the next scene started like it's not even funny
i adore the relationships between karasuno and nekoma so so much like it's so cool seeing the characters and their parallels and then also their rivals yk like how daichi and kuroo are both captains and they've got that whole thing going but then there's also the rivalry between kuroo and tsukishima!!! and it's the same with shoyo and kenma and then shoyo and inouka LIKE IDK I JUST ADORE IT
furudate writes relationships so wonderfully whether you choose to interpret them romantically or platically i just think they're all so deep and important and have so much depth and importance to the plot and the characters' own development and growth it's so lovely
so the relationships! first of all yamaguchi and tsukishima. we didn't see too much of them in this movie but the little bits we did i ADORED SO SO MUCH!!!! like tsukishima saying "he's someone who's going to surpass me" about yamaguchi OH MY GOD SO CUTE and then their little high five :((( i love them sm
tsukishima himself i just love a lot especially in this movie. he has one of the best growth arcs i've seen and it's so cool seeing how much he changed from the beginning to starting to join in more in s2 during the training camp bc of kuroo and bokuto and then in s3 to stopping ushijima's spike and falling deeper into volleyball like he's so cool!!! seeing him battle against kuroo in this and LAUGH and beat him like wow he's great and he's so petty too i love him lol
KUROO AS WELL!!! i love love love all the little flashbacks they had, especially the one of kuroo and kenma in their childhood when they went to the volleyball place and they had the line about "lowering the net" because as a manga reader, knowing what kuroo ends up doing for his job and how he works to lower the net is such a cool like arc? like seeing how much he grew and how he grasped that and did it himself to help others is so lovely
if i started talking about kenma and shoyo i fear i would never shut up. their friendship means the absolute world to me like they were besties from the moment they met, calling each other by their first names when no one else calls shoyo that except for nishinoya like !!!!! kenma being besties with him when he basically doesnt talk to people like that just goes to show how much shoyo draws people to him. the fact that this friendship fully helped change the way kenma looks at volleyball because he found a worthy opponent and a worthy boss and it made him acknowledge that volleyball was FUN!!!
kenma admitting that volleyball was fun might just be my roman empire (along with one other line i'll talk about in a bit) like IT HAS SUCH AN IMPACT YK???
so many things in this movie held such impacts i think. like kageyama giving shoyo a chance to pick himself up and hit the ball. his little "fly" LIKE YES THAT'S HIS FUCKING PARTNER AND HE'S GOING TO HELP HIM GET BACK UP!!!!! and then shoyo fucking FLEW SO HIGH AND HE SLAYED WOW WHAT A GUY
shoyo's growth throughout this series (especially including the manga and brazil + timeskip stuff) is so wonderful to look at because he really grew so much and we got to witness every little bit of it like isn't that so cool??? we got to see him improve little bits of himself throughout the series and i just love it so fucking much
i need to start wrapping this up bc i've been yapping for so long okay last couple things
"thank you for teaching me volleyball" I FUCKING CRIED OKAY KENMA SAYING THAT TO KUROO IS THE SWEETEST THING EVER LIKE :((( fully attributing that he wouldnt be here today had kuroo not taught him to play volleyball and asked him to play everyday isn't that CRAZY
also i love love LOVE that kenma and kuroo were the first two to bow to nekomata and say thank you, paralleling the scene of them seeing him when they were little kids and like idk i just thought it was a really cool scene
i know i said i cried a lot during the movie but genuinely the last couple minutes from when the match ended onwards when u see them all celebrating or whatever and then speaking to their coaches and then each other!!!!! daichi and kuroo hugging, and then kuroo and tsukishima etc was so so cute to see i love the relationships between the two teams. also seeing grandpa ukai hold his hand out to the fucking tv I FUCKING LOST IT like my eyes hurt from crying so much okay i think my yap is over :D if u read this all then i hope u enjoyed my ramble lol
Playlist
Songs I associate with Haikyuu characters:
Taylor Swift Ver.
Kageyama Tobio - Gorgeous (Reputation Album)
OCEAN BLUE EYES-
ITS ALREADY INDICATED IN THERE HONEY
But for real the song screams tsundere and Kags is EXACTLY that
The chorus with the "You're so gorgeous" and "Cause look at your face" fits well too
LIKE DONT LIE TO ME, KAGEYAMA IS TOO PRETTY LIKE WHA-
Now does he listen to this song? Probably not
I don't see Kageyama liking music too much
He may like some songs but he doesn't religiously listen to them
Oikawa Tooru - All of The Girls You've Loved Before (Lover Album)
We all know Oikawa is a bit of a playboy
Therefore, no matter what you say I would always believe that he has A LONG LIST OF EX LOVERS Blank Space Style
Now why didn't I choose Blank Space?
Well I dont really see him as someone toxic
Well yeah, he is annoying in the show and all but I do believe that he is a gentleman especially to girls.
HE HAS A SISTER WHAT DID YOU EXPECT?!
(I always notice that men with sister/s especially if they are really close, are gentlemen)
And seeing how he's close with his nephew means he is close with his sister.
AND HE IS A HUGE MAMA'S BOY, IF YOU DO NOT AGREE WITH ME PLEASE RESPECTFULLY SHUT UP
Now would he listen to this?
YES, YES HE WOULD
Probably because he's heard someone he knows (ahem ahem Makki ahem ahem) listening to this and immediately liked it
Its not his favourite, but definitely its on his playlist
Sugawara Koushi - Cruel Summer (Lover Album)
okay okay okAY OKAY HEAR ME OUT-
It doesnt symbolise Suga that much
Well except for the bridge part, because it kind of screams him
But speAKING OF THE BRIDGE
I KID YOU NOT HE SCREAMS THAT SHIT ON THE TOP OF HIS LUNGS
Imagine you're his neighbour and at 2 in the morning he starts screaming "HE LOOKS UP GRINNING LIKE A DEVIL-"
Tell me he wont do it, because he would
But like I said earlier, I do believe the bridge fits him
"I'm drunk in the back of the car and I cried like a baby coming home from the bar. Said I'm fine but it wasnt true. I dont want to keep secrets just to keep you and I snuck in through the garden gates every night that summer just to seal my fate. I scream for whatever it's worth, "I love you" aint that the worst thing you've ever heard. He looks up grinning like a devil"
I had to type all that-
BUT THIS LINE JUST SCREAMMMMS SUGAWARA KOUSHI TO ME
Akaashi Keiji - Willow (Evermore Album)
OKAY I'M EXCITED FOR THIS
I was about to choose Enchanted but Willow feels more up his alley
I could just probably put up the whole Evermore and Folklore album for this man and it would fit
And btw those two are probably what he considers one of the best albums ever
Timeskip spoilers!
We all know he majored in literature and so he is probably into deep metaphors and similes and Willow has that.
He also seems like the type to like old and magical themes which is WILLOW wow who knew
But really, this would be on his playlist along with Cardigan, some old 80s music and Radwimps
NOW THE SONG JUST FITS HIM SOOOO MUCH
The instrumental of the song is so simple yet very dimensional
AND THE THAT'S MY MAN LINE, LIKE YESSS HE IS THAT MAN
Akaashi Keji is definitely that price we'd cheat to win, don't lie
Kuroo Tetsurou - Getaway Car (Reputation Album)
THIS SCREAAAAMSSS KUROO TETSUROU
From the music to the lyrics dAMN IT-
He is the best of times and the worst of crimes ISTG-
(But I'd defo not be the first to leave if I was with THE Kuroo Tetsurou)
BUT ANOTHER ONE WHERE HE SHOUTS THE LYRICS DEADASS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FUCKING NIGHT
Bet when he comes early for practice, you can hear him screeching "X MARKS THE SPOT WHERE WE FELL APART" inside the gym
Scared the crap out of Lev once tbh
It's definitely one of his most replayed songs in his playlist
He isnt much of a fan of Taylor, but he just vibes with the song
The type of vibe where he'll dance like a worm when the chorus hits
But Getaway Car just screams Kuroo to me idk why
Atsumu Miya - Back to December (Speak Now Album)
wait wait waIT WAIT-
I know you might be asking WHY THIS SONG?
To which my answer is....
I DONT KNOW
He just feels like a person who would listen to sad/heartbreak songs
He's sappy like that
Probably listens to this, Heartbreak Anniversary, Secret Love Song etc etc
When he listens to this, he would start pulling up with the sad face like he's in a FOOKING MUSIC VIDEO
DONT TELL ME HE DOESNT LISTEN TO THIS AS HE WALKS SLOW WITH A FROWN LIKE HE'S STARRING IN AN MV
But when he's at home he definitely sings this peacefully until the bridge part.
"Back to December all the time........I MISS YOUR TANNED SKIN! YOUR SWEET SMILE!! SO GOOD TO ME SO RIGHTT!"
Lmfao it always wakes Osamu up from his naps so hey its all good for him only
Miya Osamu - Lover (Lover Album)
It is basically cannon that the twins are absolute opposites of each other.
And so, I am sure their music preference are also different.
While Atsumu likes those heartbreaking, Whitney Houston-like lyrics with high energy backgrounds, Osamu likes those romantic, suave songs with acoustic guitars and small drums on the instrumentals.
So Lover was my number one pick.
This MAN IS A ROMANTIC IN MY HEADCANNON, DO NOT CHANGE MY MIND
Can you jussttttt imagine him cooking whilst swaying his hips oN THIS SONG AHBSHSVSHWVWHWV FANGIRLING HARD RN FAM
But yeah, I feel like the whole Lover album is up his alley.
But unlike Atsumu, his singing is pretty chill, no unnecessary screeching and screaming.
Tsukishima Kei - Mastermind (Midnights Album)
So we all agree that this song is Tsukishima's, right?
HAVE YOU SEEN THAT ICONIC MOMENT FROM SEASON 3? GODDAMN HE PLANNED THAT SHIT FROM THE BEGINNING I CANNAT-
Back to the regular programming-
What I am saying is that he felt like a mastermind in that episode😉
JUST FROM THE LINES: "What if I told you none of it was accidental?" or "I laid the groundwork and then, just like clockwork the dominoes cascaded in a line."
Sums up his whole character probably
HE LISTENS TO THIS AGREE TO DISAGREE
I feel like the whole aesthetic of Midnights fit him
HE IS LITERALLY THE ANTI-HERO OF HAIKYUU DO NOT TALK TO ME-
Mastermind is not his favourite but he doesn't hate or dislike it, its in the middle category for him.
Him listening to Vigilante Shit on those white Apple headphones
Tendo Satori - Shake It Off (1989 Album)
TENDO IS A SWIFTIE, HE IS OKAY!
Shake it off is a fun ass song and there is no way he doesnt love this bop
HE DANCES TO THIS RELGIOUSLY OKAY
The lyrics also moves his heart
We all know that his childhood was pretty rough due to bullies (And maybe even when he was in high school he still had them)
So with the lyrics' positivity, it makes his heart lighter.
HE HUMS THIS WHILE HE WRAPS HIS FINGERS WITH TAPE BEFORE PRACTICING HIS BLOCKS
Let me bet you that Ushijima asked him once what the song was because he sings it EVERYDAY, and Ushijima already memorised the harmony AHAHAHAH
He becomes EXCITED and started babbling about Taylor and how he should consider being a Swiftie while Ushijima listens
He may or may not have converted Ushijima into one
HAIL LORD TENDO, THE BEST ADVERTISER TO TAYLOR AFTER USHIJIMA TO SHIRATORIZAWA
Just noticed almost all of these were the setters- Definitely not intentional😶
Part two?
im reading through the manga for kuroko’s basketball for the first time and AAAHH if you knew the plot i would have mentioned something to you but since you don’t i won’t spoil it !!! (this was the reasoning of my ask hehe)
but as for recs hmmmm i watch a lot of different genres ngl 😭 so i’ll just spit some out
romance - i really really love fruits basket!! i will say its a bit controversial because of the relationships between some of the characters with mc but honestly its just people looking too far away from the premise of the zodiac story. i also really enjoyed my happy marriage again a lil bit weird on the relationship but this time because of the age gap. theyre both adults no worries (bc i know some animes would not respect ages) and its really really beautiful the art style. the story is great too and very interesting, kind of sad but it makes you root for mc even more.
sports - YURI ON ICE. watch it. neooowwwww. art style is BEAUTIFUL and its BL which is not very common!!!!!! i loved it so so much the story was compelling and i binge watched it so hard T^T i also recommend kuroko’s basketball naturally hehe !! it was one of the first series i ever finished. the characters are to DIE for. like you think haikyuu has a great diverse group of characters??? SO DOES KUROKOS BBALL it focuses more on a set of characters within different teams like haikyuu so you still get that one-on-one feel between mc team and the opposing team while getting the opposing team dynamic feel as well!! i would say main duo kagami + kuroko are way different than haikyuu’s kageyama + hinata. all four are really motivated and have their own weaknesses and strengths as players but the dyanmic in the duos are so so different!!! kageyama + hinata are like sunshine and grumpy while kagami + kuroko are like quiet + loud AAAHHH i can go on and on about both of these animes and how similar yet different they are >< but moving on~~
science fiction - the promised neverland i have not watched after s1 mainly because s2 is behind a paywall (for me) BUT it is so so good and so tragic and sad and ughhh i could eat up so many of these dystopian films and shows !! its my fave genre in film overall!! but this show had me BAWLING. i kid you not i swear i probably cried almost every episode toward the end of s1 because its such a good but devastating plot. darwin’s game if you can get behind some fan service and only having one season out… i really recommend this anime! its very similar to alice in borderland (which i also recommend it’s a japanese show adapted from a manga) in which mc gets trapped in a survival game and he does his best to defeat whoever made said game. its really good and some of the characterization is great too !
currently watching - jujutsu kaisen OFC I LOVE MY HUSBAND NANAMI LMAO kidding (not) but um this anime is really really good. heavy on the action and plot and really great animations. however. i will say that if you get attached to characters really easily do not watch this anime 😭 gege (author) is a hater of all his likeable characters /srs im also watching sk8 the infinity which is a sports anime revolving around street skateboarding! i havent watched much maybe a couple of episodes but its really good so far! very intruiging and definitely might interest you since you enjoy haikyuu
also ty for reading all of this hahahaha if you have any recs pls share them 💗💗
Waaahhhh thank you for all these!! 🥹🫶
Another friend had recommended Fruits Basket to me before so that’s been on my radar! If I’m in the mood for romance animes, I’ll be sure to check these two out :)
ok ok Yuri on Ice is the next anime I’ve wanted to watch actually!! Either that or Kuruko’s Basketball since Haikyuu got me on a sports anime/manga kick 😂 so if these are on Netflix, I’ll be sure to queue them up soon!!
I’ve actually started reading a bit of Promised Neverland (and by that i mean the first chapter only HAHA) before focusing on reading just Haikyuu! It’s intriguing for sure 👀 although it did give off very intense vibes so i’ll have to pace myself with that series ig?? Darwin’s Game sounds so interesting too!! 👀
OH GOSH JUJUTSU KAISEN — I HAVE SUCH A LOVE-HATE RELATIONSHIP WITH IT ESPECIALLY OVER THE SHIBUYA INCIDENT ARC BC EVERYONE WAS JUST DYING LEFT AND RIGHT 😭😭😭 i might still read the manga tho lol
Hmm i honestly haven’t watched or read a lot but would def reco Demon Slayer if you haven’t read/watched it yet!! The sibling bonds in the show are so precious to me that when i reread it recently, i was fighting back tears so many times 🥺😭 that and bc their backstories can be so sad but the entire premise is that they’re hunting human-eating demons so tragic backstories come with the territory ig
I also enjoyed Kakegurui although it’s a bit… darker? and a bit more idk sensual/sexual? compared to other series i’ve dabbled in haha. The premise is elite high schoolers are all into gambling and the stakes are all really high bc they get a thrill out of it haha. I thought it was pretty fascinating how they worked around the different bets they’d make. Deals with some bullying though so just putting that as a cw!!
#asks#tagging all the titles mentioned here for my reference hehe#anime#fruits basket#yuri on ice#kuruko’s basketball#kuruko no basket#haikyuu!!#promised neverland#darwin’s game#jujutsu kaisen#demon slayer#kimetsu no yaiba#kakegurui#mutuals#moots
