the tiger still isnt cool. The exotic pet ownership and animal endangerment is just distracting. AT least put some armor on yer cat also yikes the legs on that tiger are janky

so kafka failed the exams for 5 years b4 Mina was able to take them. Which given he's 5 yrs older than her makes sense

but also sir you failed a test 5 years in a row and then kept trying for another 7 yrs b4 presumably aging out of being able to try until they raised the max enlistment age at the beginning of the story

and then Mina decided to be mad at Kafka for just not being able to pass and leaving her to fight monsters alone breaking his promise to always be there but like he tried for over a decade. some people arent built to join the military

and because she turned out to be talented for taking out big targets she got pushed to having to be perfect by the one the only shitty rich dad who gives everyone issues who he decides to train to be the future of the nation's defense

we just keep finding out that this asshole just traumatizing so many people for teh greater good

oh you have some talent? lets throw you onto the front lines and inform you that if you fail yer risking the lives of yer comrades and civilians

ma'am I doubt Kafka being there would have changed shit other than you'd talk to him more often. pls dont put everything on one person's shoulders. That's a great way to break them or have them burn out young ma'am Kafka being in the Defence Force would not mean he'd be allowed to be at yer side in situations like this. Totally understandable ive been dealin with long work & other stuff so i feel ya. My energy levels have been all over the place. Ooh have fun in alicante! Right? This is part two of the child! Au

Luocha

•Child! Luocha has three modes, we have the surface responsible elder sister type mode, dig in a little deeper we have the budding business man and buried underneath is the “I’m a Traumatized kid” who’s has abandonment issues.

•Child! Luocha acts very nice on the surface and helps around the express but thats just curry in favors so that you can overlook his… odd behavior such as dragging his huge coffin around.

• He uses his healing powers in exchange for favors and trinkets he can sell.

•In this child form his business aspirations is an all time high, dreaming of becoming a merchant.

•why do I see him making and selling abyss flower teas, flower carvings, arrangements etc. Anything to do with flowers and herbs he has dabbled in it. He even posed as a girl and sold girl scout cookies, you gotta respect his hustle. Out of all the children he probably makes the most credits, he even makes more than Firefly and Trailblazer which are jobless.

• Child! Luocha might not remember his past and his adult form yet he can’t seem to let go of the coffin. He feels scared when he’s away from it too long. Firefly tried to carry it by flying but he cried himself to exhaustion. So the Trailblazer decided to add wheels to the coffin so that he can have an easier time lugging it around, something that Luocha greatly appreciated.

•Besides Seele, Luocha is the only other child that accompanies Trailblazer when their dumpster diving as he wants to see if there are any wares he can refurbish and sell. He often drags the Trailblazer to antique stores and pawnshops to see if their is anything to add to his wears.

• Welt acts weird around Luocha often giving him books about accepting death and moving on, despite that Luocha still thinks he’s really cool and Welt often babysits him.

•He has nightmares of death so Firelfy often puts him to sleep by telling him a story and she even explains to him her story to and how we should cherish every moment. It brings the two closer

•In terms of his relationship with the other children, he tried to play nice with child! Seele and they’re have a distant but ok relationship often being the two responsible ones and helping around the express. Child! Jing Yuan is very suspicious of child! Luocha so they have a tense relationship. Child!Silverwolf find Lucha terribly boring so they don’t hangout much. Luocha wants to get closer to Child! Blade to study the effects of mara but the latter avoids him due to being creeped out by Luocha’s prodding. Kafka and Luocha are gossip besties they often keep each other in the loop about the latest drama, both of them are manipulators so they are instantly drawn to each other, they even have make deals with Luocha giving Kafka credits to help fund her velvet coat addiction and Kafka in exchange convinces Blade to hangout with Luocha

•Because of his numerous business attempts he attracts the attention of the IPC who wanted to sponsor and adopt him but he refused so Topaz decided to give him some business tips, she even bought his entire stock. Aventurine on the other hand taught him some stocks tips and gave Child! Luocha his number to talk businesses, but the two often have late night conversations whenever Luocha has another nightmare of death and Firefly is asleep. Aventurine tells him how he survived “death” and hoe Giathra Cyclops watches over them.

•May have outscammed Sampo and outbid him in terms of buying artifacts.

•Initially Adult! Luocha would have been sent to the shackling prison but due to his new form and the general’s absence Fu Xuan decided to use the matrix of prescience on him and found no problems so she let him go as the astral express watches over him

• Sushang thinks that Child! Luocha is super cute and she often tours him around the Xianzhou and she even helped Luocha sell his wears around Aurumn Alley. Despite Sushang supposedly being the babysitter, its Luocha who seems like to be babysitting Sushang instead.

• Bailu and Child! Luocha are healing rivals, they often competes on who can heal the most, despite their rivalry Bailu thankful to have another child healer to hang out with.

•Xueyi is sometimes task with watching Luocha for the commission and Luocha considers her a regular customer as the Xueyi often buys his tea packets for her sister Hanya as the latter says the Tea has a calming effect.

• One time Xueyi and the cloud knight escorted Luocha together with Trailblazer to the Shackling prison to meet Jingliu. She commented on Luocha new form but otherwise stayed silent, Luocha feels like he should know her but can’t remember. At the end of the session just before Jing Liu is taken away she gifts Luocha an ice flower and says “ignorance is a bliss so cherish it while you still can, young child”.

SilverWolf

• Child! Silverwolf is a the “ipad” kid, she is glued to her gadgets 24/7

• She plays videogames all day long, you will not see her not holding any video game consoles

• Her and Trailblazer bond over Aetherium wars and in their many battles she has lost most of them so she vows that she’ll get even

• Child! Silverwolf trash talks online and she knows more swear words than even Boothill. She has started flame wars and reddit wars.

• She user aether editing to bring her video games to life causing chaos in the express. She even unplugged the data banks to charger her ipad causing Dan Heng to band her from his room but that didn’t stop her from simply hacking through

• She sometimes pulls pranks on people such as changing the wifi password and turning off the lights, you know its Silverwolf since she’s cackling and giggling as she does it

• She hates it when people call her short so she often has avatars that are taller and bulkier.

•Firefly often does Child Silverwolf’s hair and they both talk about the Kamen riders series

•If she feels like it or she’s bored she often goes to Welt and help him with his animation in exchange for bubble gum.

•She loves bubblegum and she always have some on her.

• Her, Kafka and Blade are really close. They are like actual siblings with Kafka taking the role of the oldest, Blade being the angsty middle child and Silverwolf being the youngest gremlin. Kafka and her often goes on dangerous adventures with Blade being forced to tag along. Child! Silverwolf and Child! Blade can finally play video games together after she pestered him over and over again, despite Blade not caring for video games he preferred to play simulator games such as FNAF with her.

•Seele and her often play fighting games. Jing Yuan on the other hand prefers board games which Silverwolf is actually bad at. She even made a GC where all 6 children are part in where she bombards them with memes.

• Hates waking up early. She sleeps very late and always plays her video games when the others are asleep.

•She often hacks into Herta Space Station just to annoy Herta by playing baby shark on the speakers or sending memes. She even rickrolled them by sending a link posing under Asta account.

• Child! Silverwolf still has a feeling of rivalry against Screwllum so she often goads and tries to provoke him but to no success. She honestly finds Ruan Mei terrifying so she avoids her but she did try to steal a cake cat only to back off when she heard that there Ruan Mei’s creation.

I’m a big fan of found family troupes and I just recently watch “Instant” Family.

So I had this brainrot for while now where Seele, Jing Yuan, Luocha and the Stellaron Hunter trio were turn into kids by an emanator of Aha as a prank. So now Trailblazer and Firefly are now responsible for taking care of 6 children with little recollection of their adult selves. So lets start with some general fluffy headcannons

Seele

•Seele gives wild child energy, she’s rebellious and spunky at first but she is also when to be responsible

•She probably runs around the Astral express all day without slowing down.

•She does help clean up messes especially when it her or the other children’s fault.

•She sometimes listen to the radio but gets board after a while. She often hangs out with PomPom exploring ever inch of the astral express.

•While she rarely starts fights she makes sure to finish them and she doesn’t hesitate to throw hands wether your man, woman or child. If you mess with her you better believed that she is going to get even.

•She knows how to sew and is often repairs her and the other kids clothes as she doesn’t want to spend any money as she is very thrifty. She even joins the Trailblazer sometimes in Garbage rummaging to see if she can find any spare fabrics or items she can reuse

•She loves to watch Grandpa Welt make animations all day and She is loves watching Sam all day thinking that she’s a real life superhero.

•Her favorite game is hide and seek as she can either play the part of the seeker and hunt other people down or she can use her quantum powers and disappear among the sea of butterflies to hide all day. Trailblazer and Firefly were particularly anxious when its been hours since Seele “hid” and they couldn’t find her, they even had to coax her to come out of hiding with ice cream.

• She gets along with the other five but she isn’t particularly close with any of them. She likes playing fighting games with Silver Wolf but she rather spar In real life. Blade, Kafka and Luocha unnerves her for some reason and she find Jing Yuan too lax for her liking.

•Bronya wanted to take full custody of Seele that almost led to a heated court trial under the IPC, She managed to relent and gave sole custody of Child! Seele to the astral express with the stipulation of nightly video calls. Himeko even talked with Bronya about ways to contact Sampo to see if he knows any way to reverse the Childification of the 6 children.

•Seele likes Natasha and when the trailblazer is at Belebog she often goes to Nat’s clinic and helps her with a few errands. She is an honorary member of the moles and is quite close with Pitch Dark Hook the Great. Hates Sampo guts though. She also hates how Luka teases her.

Jing Yuan

• Jing Yuan true to his title, is the sleepy kid. He sleeps alot, only ever being awake when he finds something interesting.

• He can often be found dozing in the strangest of places from The Data Bank to behind a potted plant, ever nook and cranny are Jing Yuan’s potential nap spots

•He loves playing chess and any other board games, it one of the few things he finds interesting so if you want him to be serious then just set the game and its match!

•He loves playing with cats and often tries to sneak them on the express at the expense of PomPom’s rage and Firefly’s scolding him. One time he tried to sneak in a whole lion cub, but was unfortunately caught and grounded by Firefly.

•He has very neat handwriting

• He has a strange obsession with Dan Heng, with him being Jing Yuan “Favorite” person, often sleeping in the Data Bank and helping Dan Heng organize the Bank.

•He still has lighting Lord so if at any time he or the other kids are in danger he’ll summon it.

•Him and the Trailblazer are more like brothers but you often can’t tell which is the older one based on their attitudes.

• He and Seele are ok with each other often having a distant but amicable relationship, they sometimes join forces to reel the Stellaron Trio. Him and Silverwolf often play games with him winning any game that isn’t a video game. He tried to befriend Child! Blade with little success as the latter brushes him off constantly. He disliked Luocha for constantly lying and he doesn’t trust Kafka as well.

•Fu Xuan teased him all about his new Child! Form and assert dominance as she and Jing Yuan are the same height now only to be reminded that she is still shorter because she is wearing heels.

•Yanqing fins it odd that the General is so young now but they still spar quite often, he considers calls this Jing Yuan as “Mini General”. Most of their fights often land in a draw

• Sushang and Guinafen tries to acts as the cool aunties to him as they basically drag him all over the luofu. Bailu and him become best friends as Child! Jing Yuan often helps her hide from the Alchemy commission.

•Yukong gifts Trailblazer and Firelfly some parenting tips as she knows how difficult it is to raise on child but she can only imagine how much stressful it is to raise six

•While initially the Xianzhou Luofu was in disarray over their “missing” general, Fu Xuan was able to foresee this and with the a little bit of Forgery managed to keep Jing Yuan child state as secret for now with Fu Xuan acting as the General due to Jing Yuan taking a much needed break.

Human Resources Answers It All

Q: I have explosive diarrhea but the client meeting is in 5 minutes, what do I do? 

A: While I tip my hat to your commitment to details, my advice will pretty much be the same for any major illness or personal emergency. First, identify the level of importance of a meeting including the objectives. If this is a meeting that absolutely cannot be canceled, see if someone can quickly fill in for you who knows the project. If this cannot be done, postpone and reschedule the meeting. You can even ask Steph to help out if this is a truly urgent matter and you need support reaching out to others. If this is a sensitive client, reach out to your Director ASAP so you are able to get the support you need.

I’m also going to spotlight that there will rarely be a time that you only have 5 minutes before an important meeting that you realize you are so sick you cannot attend. There’s normally a lead time when things like this happen. If you begin to feel unwell, start a backup plan and share your plan with your supervisor and team. Identify objectives that others can handle and what objectives you want left for you to be able to deal with at a later time (if possible). It’s also good practice to not just spring this on your team, but figure out what they are willing and able to help out with. 

What you should definitely NOT do is prioritize the client meeting over an urgent health matter that requires immediate attention. Also, it’s ok to keep your reason discreet. No need to tell anyone (even HR) that you are experiencing “explosive diarrhea”.

Q: I’m having an existential crisis. Now what? 

A: First off, you need to identify what is prompting your existential crisis. Are you not sure what to do next with your career or personal life? Are you unsure whether or not you’re in a game simulation? Did you suddenly wake up to find yourself having been turned into a bug in a Kafka-esque turn of events? 

Let’s tackle this one at a time starting with: I’m not sure what’s next for my career or personal life. If you’re unsure about what’s next in your life (or you’re not sure if you really want what’s expected to be next in your life), that’s a pretty normal feeling. My quick advice for this is to identify your personal values. One quick way is to ask the question: what would my life look like, sound like, and feel like for me to feel mostly satisfied with it? Then try to figure out your personal values based on the image you conjured up in your head. Also know: this will change. You won’t always value or want the same thing from one year to another and that’s ok.

There are actual exercises that help you find your personal values. If you’d like me to run a training session on helping you with this, let me know.  It’s not just a great exercise to help you identify what you want in your career, but knowing what you value is a great way to become a strong leader and a respected decision-maker in and out of the workplace. 

Next up: Am I in a game simulation? Elon Musk and Black Mirror has posited we are. But I am not a philosopher nor am I Elon Musk. If I were in a game simulation, I just hope I’m in Animal Crossing trading turnips with my bestie and not in Fortnite getting hunted down.  

Am I a character from Kafka’s novels? Factually, Kafka passed in 1924, so I highly doubt it. Thematically speaking, we have been isolated, forced to deal with unprecedented change, probably questioning social and familial obligations. Based on that alone, we are all probably Kafka characters. So let’s acknowledge the absurdity that life has thrown us so far. Next, make sure you have a good support network you feel you can lean on, and also know it’s ok to get counseling if you need it. 

If you’d like to speak with a counselor but don’t know where to start, every [STRANG] employee has access to the EAP or Employee Assistance Program. You can access it by going to CoAdvantage > MyBenefits > Benefits Education Center > Health > Life Management > EAP. Anyone can access it, and it’s a good start for counseling support, even for existential crises.

Q: How can I express gratitude without being creepy? 

A: Just keep your hands to yourself and do not ever comment on anyone’s physical traits. You can say thank you and be specific about what you are grateful for and move on. Keep it short, sweet, and specific.              

Non-Example: Thank you. I didn’t realize you were not just a hottie, but you are also a “brainy”. Let me know when you are available for dinner and a cocktail. I want to take you out to say thanks. 

This is a non-example because calling a co-worker a “hottie” can be construed as harassment. Telling someone you are going to dinner with them can also be construed as an unwanted advance. We also do not know what the person is thankful for. 

Example: Thank you for helping me think through this challenge. I haven’t had the opportunity to work on a treehouse before, and I really appreciate you sharing your experiences and time with me.

This is a good example because the thank you is brief, and it addresses what the person is thankful for.

everyone who knows Kafka is trying to pull whatever strings they have to not let him be killed and turned into weapons "If we can prove yer still a human inside we might be able to save yer life" ok but what counts as proof that he's a human inside? I assume not his actual organs cause that aint helping oh i see, the director general (rich girl's dad) is going to torture Kafka to force him to transform. And I assume if Kafka responds to being tortured by lashing out he's gonna get put down. That's shitty that one arm ripped off yeah Kafka is transforming b/c his inner kaiju is going 'hey they're trying to kill us we need to defend ourselves'

also, the bug that crawled into Kafka to turn him into a kaiju has been remarkably chill this entire time. Its just vibing in there thats a second arm getting torn off and a leg gone too Kafka's inner kaiju: Hey! There's a fucking daikaiju trying to kill us why are we not fighting back?! Kafka's kaiju side senses the kaiju that was used to make the director general's bracers and as far as its concerned there's another daikaiju trying to kill them and its human side needs to get with the program and fight that a thrid arm getting ripped off and internal bleeding from blunt force trauma to the abdomen and both legs got ripped off this man is gonna need some food after this or he should cause like, regrowing yer limbs 6 times in short order should be very energetically expensive

Kafka's inner kaiju has finally had enough and said if its human side refuses to fight, it's going to take the wheel. And it does easily, apparently the reason that Kafka had full control this whole time was b/c it wasn't interested in doing shit woke that sleeping dragon up Kafka's inner kaiju: Kill, kill, kill kaiju, kill the dragonfly said its gonna get some energy back for those 6 lost limbs and 2x internal organ damage i would imagine its pretty fucking hungry, I doubt they fed Kafka after arresting him. last ep of the season and then I'll move onto the comic which has gone further on see the differences between the source material and the adaptation

granted i think I'll still rewatch the opening theme between chapters when i read b/c I really like this opening theme also if what i read up was right big red dragon is one of mushroom's offspring teh perks of being shapeshifters that can reproduce asexually and apparently acquire new genetic material from eating other shit again I still think aliens

uh hey Kafka's inner kaiju fucking teleported. Teleported its core out of its body using its old body as a decoy and forming a new body around its core to attack the fucker trying to kill them from behind uh the dragonfly might not be as smart as a humanoid kaiju but its apparently got some tricks up its …flesh ok yes girl yer dad is giving Kafka a chance but that chance involved torturing him until he snapped to see how he'd react under pressure. It still shitty Kafka is a prisoner inside his own body rn as the kaiju is very much planning to kill and probably eat the fucker that's been torturing them. Kafka is not ok with this b/c going feral is not the best way to prove that he's not a danger to people Kafka is trying his best to not kill rich girl's dad right in front of her. His body isnt inclined to listen to him tho

Kafka's attempts to fight back for control get his sould self devoured by the soul self of the dragonfly and inside its he starts to be subsumed into the kaiju until he remembers that his childhood bestie is waiting for him and he cant just give up he takes enough control to divert a killing blow into his own chest and get his inner kaiju to calm its shit or else and he passes out b/c he must be very fucking tired ok so Kafka tried to join but failed for 12 yrs wow and you never called that man ma'am

ma'am tell yer friend how you feel pls Kafka really gave his body an ultimatum and said if you try to make me murder and eat my friend's dad I'm killing both of us b/c I'm not about to become a monster and his body really said, 'oh ok understood death is not preferable so' the director general decided to spare Kafka. Like it was a shitty shitty exam but he pasted he doesnt really believe in Kafka as a person, but believes he's trainable and usable as a living weapon against kaiju

Kafka's not cool with being viewed as a weapon and says as such ok I liked it. Def picked up more towards the end of the season where things got more serious and less shitty attempts of humor also while shit was going down, Mushroom wasnt idle. It was learning more about humans and has decided that it knows everything of value now

its also been shedding. and cloning itself ok, I will say that I like Kaiju no. 8 based on this first season. I dont think its good, not the first half at least but it is quite compelling thus far.

Plus the man was a smoker for who knows how long man is no longer average by the standards of the test he also apparently didnt think about cheating with his powers RIP man experiencing being over 30 and competing against much younger people a lot of them from military families too i dont like the blond child and now i am receiving secondhand embarrassment this is trying to be funny but i'm just embarrassed in his behalf man would feel bad using his superpowers to cheat when everyone else doesnt have that advantage

they're finally letting dude be cool. apparently, he needed to know his ex childhood bestie was watching and would be disappointed in him if he didnt get his shit together. He's decided to run support and is using his kaiju anatomy knowledge gained from cleaning up carcasses

he gets badly injured by a kaiju, saved from being forced to drop out by the rude blond kid, and gets back to his feet with broken bones b/c he refuses to give up this time the sentiment is noble but like no, stay down damnit dont aggravate those injuries ok goint to bed.
