Too Scared to Let Go(To Lose You)

Characters; Lynette, Navia, Xiao, Scaramouche, Lyney, Kaeya, La Signora x gn Reader

Summary; they wont let go of you, no matter what. They can't protect you from harm when they aren't there, so they hold you close to ensure you're there. they've already lost so much.

Warnings; angst, maybe a little bit yandere,

Notes; i did the obvious like xiao, scara, signora and stuff but if i make a part two ill maybe put someone like barbara or nilou in, but that would just be them having intrusive thoughts... probably. will add diluc and venti there as well dont worry, love you

Lynette

She always thinks that you're going to die at some point, get kidnapped or just straight up leave, these thoughts come up once every week or so. But when your out and about or just working late, her thoughts run faster than ever. Of course she has lyney and the rest of the house, but she's just gotten so used to being with both lyney and you now that it doesnt quite feel the same. So her solution is often to hug you as tight as she can when sleeping, hoping you wont disappear in the morning.

And of course you try and help her as much as you possibly can, reassuring her that you wont leave and that youll find a way to get back to her no matter what happens when out and about, but that sometimes just doesnt cut it.

She doesnt cry often, but when she does its a lot, tears streaming down her face for an hour or two, and even longer if you, Lyney and Freminet aren't there with her.

Navia

She cant let go of you in the morning, it was always like that, but it had gotten so much worse after the loss of her two beloved bodyguards. She often mumbles in her sleep about you and how she wants you to stay. Something along the lines of:

“no… no, don’t go, stay… please!! Just stay with me!”

“please stay… stay with me… where did you go… no, come back, please…”’

“[name]… please stay with me… please… just stay…”

You have to wake her up when it seems like she’s panicking and try your best to comfort her, but sometimes she just doesn’t get any sleep because she wants to make sure you don’t disappear while she is asleep. She is of course the same shining Navia when around other people like the Traveler and Paimon, but everyone can see that she doesn’t want to let go of you at all, fearing you’ll vanish if you leave her line of sight for even just a second, its like you’re glued to her.

If people ever see you, they know for a fact that Navia is also there, no matter what. Oh, you want to go over and wish your friend a happy birthday, well she can carry a gift for them with her so you don’t have to. You wanted to cook something but is missing one singular ingredient, you can you go get it together, don’t worry she isn’t putting back anything for it (she totally is, and has multiple offers and such she should be taking a look at rn).

Xiao

He says he shouldn’t be near you all the time, but doesn’t let go when you make him give in to his desires. He’ll hurt you, and you know that, so why are you still here with him. Wait, no, he isn’t trying to make you go away, please don’t, ever. He just cares about you enough to not want you getting hurt because of his karmic debt, he loves you too much to let that happen. But the thought of you leaving him fills his mind more than the karmic debt at times, he dreads it, the fact that you’ll leave eventually, he doesn’t care if its by choice or fate, just don’t. please, please, please don’t leave, just stay with him, please.

He doesn’t want to let go, but feels he needs to, you tell him its fine yet he feels like it isn’t. it feels like he’s hurting you every second of being with you, yet he doesn’t try to let go, he doesn’t even give the thought a chance. you say you’re fine, yet he feels like you’re not. He

feels like hes hurting you, he’s hurting more because of it. But then why does it hurt more without you, why, oh why. What have you done to him, just what did you do that made him so addicted to you. Swear you’ll never leave him ever, and he will do the same, as long as you’re here with him he swears he wont hurt you, he’ll break the karma in half for you, he’ll do anything. Just don’t leave him, please don’t.

Scaramouche

Everyone would say he’s too cocky, confident, and mean. But that’s all because he doesn’t let them see the vulnerable side of him, the leftovers of Kunikusuhi, the side he only shows to you. He shows you they way he cries at the mere thought you could leave him one day, he sobs in your chest as you comfort him and let him focus and anything but the nightmares haunting his being. He wont ever be like that with anyone that isn’t you, he doesn’t give a shit about them they can do whatever, but you have to stay.

He doesn’t care about all the others as long as you don’t leave him too, he doesn’t care about anything other than you. So please, please don’t leave him, ever, he would watch the world burn over and over again as long as he has you.

If you ever told anyone that the 6th harbinger, scaramouche, cries at night just because you left to go get a glass of water, they would call you crazy, say he’s never cried in his life that you must have seen things. But you know its true, and he does too, even if he doesn’t like to admit it. He knows you wont go, you always say you wont, but he just cant let himself to believe you, not when he’s been lied to so many times. He worries too much about you and he knows that, but how could he not, he loves you, and will never let you leave him because you love him too, right?

Lyney

Although he may be the confident, charming and romantic magician Lyney everyday in public, when he finally lets go of the role at home he’s nowhere near that. He cries just because he wanted to see you and he finally did, he worries about not being able to save you someday. He’s a worrywart to say the least

If you were gone for too long, whether on a mission from father or anything else really, he would not be calm at all until you come back. he would only be rather calm after he got a letter from you or in one of his shows where he put too many layers of masks on to hide it. he wants to think that your ok, just as Lynette say you are, you're strong. but he still cant help but worry,and he ends up panicked and stressed, without sleep, too tired to think sbout anything else other than you. dont leave him, he wouldnt survive without you.

That's why you cant leave him. hell lose his mind, and destroy everything around him in the process. he cant let you leave, so please, please don't. his heart is already fragile, it beats only for you now, so don't leave. don't leave. don't... please... please don't, he cant handle that. so, please, don't leave him, ever. stay right here with him, forever.

Kaeya

He doesnt remember his birth parents, he hates them but a little bit, but mostly because they left him, he cant handle thinking about them. and it only made his pain worse when he lost the people he called his family once again, so he cant afford to lose anything else, not when he feels completely at home once again. you are his home now, his family, and his joy. so don't leave or he might lose his mind and start ruining himself from the inside and out.

He loves you, a lot, you're his reason to continue in life. so if he ever sees you leave he would cry, even if all you are doing is leaving his office after giving him his lunch, he would shed a tear at the sight. his heart is fragile ok? He can't bear to lose his life once again, not after his parents left, not after his adoptive family left too.

Don't go, stay, stay right here with him and everything will be fine. i will all be fine, you trust him after all, and he won't let anyone touch you, let alone hurt you. you're safe here with him, don't worry about them, worry about him. you've got him wrapped around your finger without even knowing, you could want a certain sweet from Inazuma and he'll get it as fast as possible. you can get anything you want, ok? The only condition is that you stay right here with him, and only him.

La Signora

She swore she wasn’t going to fall for anyone after her first lover died, so why did she fall for you, how did she fall for you. Honestly you don’t know and she doesn’t either, she doesn’t know how you were able to melt her ice cold heart back to normal, even if only around you and you only, if anyone else is around it freezes back quicker than lightning can strike. She thought she wasn’t able to love again after he died, but you proved her wrong, so you can’t leave too. She cant deal with the death of her lover once again, so don’t leave her, ever.

You hug her in the night as she cries a little, mad at you for leaving her in her dream, but still not mad at you, as her anger is mostly to the world for doing this to her. But don’t worry, she’ll fall asleep eventually as she always does, she does need her beauty sleep after all. But that doesn’t mean she’ll wake up and easily let go again or just get out of bed, she’s stubborn and want you all for herself a little longer. She makes you talk a little as you carefully brush her hair like she taught you to do, and she relaxes a bit when you tell her you love her while kissing her head.

As long as you promise you wont leave her, and keep that promise, she’ll love you forever, she cant bare to see you go out the door even if its just for groceries, someone else can do that don’t worry. Just come and relax with her in a bath, she can wash your hair and you can wash hers. She’ll take care of you like you take care of her, just don’t leave, please. If you ever left her alone for too long she would freak out, she does everything with you, baths, shopping, paperwork even, so she cant bear to be left alone for longer than 30 minutes or she’ll panic. So don’t leave her please, please, please don’t, she’ll even beg for you to not leave her, just stay here with her.

Spoilers for this post, the dead people are gonna be revived because I say so. This is gonna be a happy day, alright. I ain't using angst to ruin it

The traveler always faced many dangers, hilichurls, mechanics, a dragon, to a false God.

But nothing compared to you. It felt like their soul was quivering. Every time they went into a nation, they always felt eyes on them. They waited for you to make a move to attack them, but it never came. Why were you watching them?

In every region, there was always a commission where this flirty imposter was running around making a mess. This was the only commission they couldn't do. They could never catch you! And even if you were there, talking to them. You somehow escape from their grasp. Just what are you? Who are you.

They only knew you were just a kind of imposter of Teyvat Creator. There was always a bounty on your head in each nation! Even a village has one. Every time they asked the archons, they just looked away, flustered, and didn't even answer the question. Always changing the subject and when they do awnser, the archons always say that you are a trouble maker. Of course, beside Nahida. The things she said about you didn't really match up with other people, said.

"I had no thoughts of them being bad. Even now, when I meet them. They always bring me flowers and share interesting stories, even from other worlds. They visited me even when I was imprisoned. They were the only thing that kept me not giving up on hope."

Nahida says while smiling.

"They always play with me and swing with me. They aren't bad. Although they are full with mysteries.......why you say traveler? Well, I tried finding information with irminsul, but the only information about them were locked up."

Now the traveler was more cunfused. Irminsul has little information about you, but it was locked? He looked around for more, but when he did, his view of you changed. The citizens who told you were horrible but did many wrong things. Which in the end when they found out, were arrested. The citizens who didn't do any wrongs told them many great things from you.

They decided to go to each nation and stay for a few weeks and see what you do to see if there was a pattern so they could meet you. First was Mondstadt. They were sitting at the usual place while paimon was ordering.

Until they saw Kaeya and Diluc coming towards them. Were they...talking without fighting?

"Hello traveler, mind if we join you? Of course we'll be paying for our own meals."

Then the traveler saw Venti coming along, asking the same thing. Surprisingly, he had mora to pay, unlike for his drinks—

The traveler agreed to let them join, and they started ordering too. Although some people might not have noticed but their ears were red. Why?

Flashback:

"Kaeya, get out. Im already closed.."

"Aww, come on, Diluc! Just one more, hm? And plus, technically, you aren't. Just close to."

(Close to making Diluc beating your ass—)

*ding* [bell from the door rang]

Diluc and kaeya turned their head to see a person with a strange looking cloak on?

"Well, who do we have here? You look quite suspicious, don't you think?" Kaeya chuckles as he looks at you."

"Yeah, yeah. I do, but I can assure you, I am no threat." You put your hands in the air and waved as a sign that you mean no danger.

Diluc just scowled at you and just continued to clean the glass.

"Hmm, can I have a dandelion wine? Also, some grape juice to go?"

Diluc just looked at you dumb founded. But still did the drink for to go even though he's supposed to be closed. He put the grape juice in a bottle and then gave you dandelion wine. You paid him in a bag of mora, then you asked if you could see how much mora does Venti owed him. Diluc just looks at you, then said the price. Was quite high, but you still paid. He was cunfused and asked why you were paying for that drunkard bard.

You just shrugged. Kaeya jokingly asked you to pay for him, too. But you actually did. He was baffled. He looked away in a different direction and continued drinking. It was quiet but not really awkward, more peaceful than awkward. Diluc was annoyed at you two for flirting with each other, but Kaeya got the most flustered <3 although...Diluc felt something he thought he would never feel for you, a stranger. Jealously

hours later,,

(Yes, I know quite well about Diluc because I know as heck he will kick kaeya and you out if you stayed for more hours.)

Kaeya was absolutely drunk. You continued paying for him to drink, and he didn't want to be rude, so he just continued drinking, drinking, and drinking....just how many mora do you have?!

Diluc mentally slapped his forehead but enjoyed this little scene. At least he could enjoy knowing that kaeya would get scolded and have a very bad headache. You put something in his pockets, and Diluc quickly grabbed your wrist. He asked you what you put in Kaeya's pockets with a glare that could scare a soldier off. You took it out, and he examined it. It seems like it was just hangout medicine. He gave it back and quietly apologized.

You continued talking to him but then kaeya woke up. You always saw a wall between their relationship, and you want to break it, so you did. You may or may not have used magic to make Kaeya say some things. You excused yourself and got out. You leaned onto the wall and waited.

*20-30 minutes later*

You finally peeked inside and saw them hugging, kaeya sobbing and Diluc tearing up. You smiled and tried to walk out until you saw Venti. He was drunk, don't know how.

You heard Diluc opening the door. You quickly picked up Venti and hid somewhere.

Diluc has Kaeya arm over him as he drags him to his house. You watched them go, although you flinched as Venti squeezed your chest. [I know, in the sagau idea, he slapped your ass. But I'm ain't doing it]

You looked at him as he giggled. He definitely drank too much. You thought.

"Ehe....why don't you join me~?"

You were holding back so much on your actions that were about to be done to this man. He tugged your clothing that was covering you to not alert anyone that you were the 'imposter'

You quickly got a room for him, and thank god no one was around because Venti almost got your disguise off. You gently put him on the bed. You looked back at his face and saw him flustered. You were cunfused. Why was he so red?

"I-....are we doing this right now?"

He looked away, blushing. Suddenly, it clicked.

he thought you were gonna *censored* him? (Pretend I didn't just say this, shshhhshsh)

He thought you were gonna 'sleep' with him?? You chuckled and tucked him to bed and softly ran your hand through his hair, slowly un-doing his braids. He became more flustered for thinking you were gonna do 'it' with him.

His eyes felt heavy as he slowly drifted to sleep. The next morning, he saw a letter and a bottle of hangout medicine. With a cup of water. He quickly drank down the medicine as his headache got better. He reads the paper,

Hello Venti

Please do not over drink, firstly because of your health and lastly you were so drunk and were clinging to me. I had to get you a room because you were trying to take my clothes off.

From your dear 'imposter'

He crumbled the paper and looked down, blushing hard. He remembers what he was thinking and doing. Although it felt nice and peaceful when you ran your hand through his hair...wait, what was he thinking?! You're the imposter for archon's sake!

He looked around and saw a bag of mora. There was a small paper that said "for venti"

I guess he appreciated the mora.....

*end of flashback*

The traveler had a nice talk with them as paimon just continued eating all the food.

Soon, the chat ended, and they said their goodbyes. He went to the church and wanted to see how things were there. They were surprised to see Amber, Jean, Barbara, Lisa, Noelle, and Eula. They decided to listen to their conversation while they gave Paimon some mora for her food.

"People are reporting to see the 'imposter' taking hillichurls into a portal, and this is getting out of hand. Does anyone know how to catch the 'imposter?'"

Everyone shook their head. Some lowered their head in shame and guilt. Jean sighed. Amber raised her hand,,

"Well, the last time we got reported by this, we went there and found a paper that seemed to be written by the 'imposter'. It said that they know we are trying to track them down and won't be successful. Also, they said that they are just taking to the abyss and getting rid of the curse.."

Jean nodded at the information.

"Did any of you...encounter anything strange, perhaps?"

"Hmm, now I think about it. People always kept losing the books, but lately, they've been returned nice and neat. I also remember that some of the lost books got one of the page ripped but the book got returned and that page was stitched back and with the 'imposter's' hand writing saying the exact thing on the page."

"My bunny got damaged and got lost into the ocean. When I came back, there was my bunny on the table, stitched up and all dry. There was also a paper heart."

"I heard a song/music with a humming similar to the 'imposter's' voice and when I went in, nothing was there. I only found the lyre was all patched and fixed as if nothing even scratched it!"

"I got injured in a battle, and when I woke up, I was patched up in a tent. I saw the 'imposter' standing before me, I tried attacking, but they disappeared into the air."

"I was also in a battle, I was about to get hit, but something blocked the attack, and the ruin guard was smashed into pieces."

"I see...is this perhaps the 'imposter's' doing? If yes, then why....what is their goal?"

Everyone asked what strange thing happened to Jean.

"Ah...well, i had to go somewhere, and when I went back to the office, my papers were all done correctly."

Jean looked away a little flustered. The traveler left since it was the end of the conversation they were eavesdropping to. Paimon came back feeling full from the food she ate. They both went to the forest and saw Bennett sitting without a scratch and Bennett was smiling so happily.

Paimon asked what Bennett was so happy about.

"Ah, me? Well, I think my bad luck is going away! No hilichurls were going after us at night, no tripping, no choking on food, and—"

Traveler was surprised at least since there was no offense. He literally has pretty much no good luck. After Bennett finished talking, he looked around and panicked. Paimon asked what was wrong, as Bennett explained Razor was missing. Fischl came back with some food and asked why you guys were panicking. Bennett quickly explained to her that Razor was missing, but she softly chuckled and pointed to the path.

"What do you mean? He's over there with this hooded person. Idk why, but their cloak look like it's vaporizing."

They went with fischl as she led them to the place. They see a person petting razor as he lays on their lap. The traveler knew this was the 'imposter' and tried to snatch Razor quickly, but Razor was un-willing and hugged the unknown person closer. As the traveler and the others saw the 'imposter' chuckled then turns into loud laughter. As Razor snuggled more onto the 'imposter'

They suddenly disappeared into thin air. Before the 'imposter' (you) left, he saw your strange cloak have an image of dragonspine. He quickly said their goodbyes to Bennett, fischl, and Razor. Paimon didn't want to go into the cold but gave the Traveler some warm food she bought and soon to be waiting in the room they rented.

They went to dragonspine at the path they saw Rosaria smiling....wait, smiling? Rosaria quickly saw the Traveler and fixed her posture. She walked away with an item.

[It was a hand warmer for her to use given by you. Explanation: she didn't really join the hunt to find you, so she just left you alone unless she was ordered/asked to hunt you down. While in dragonspine, she saw you and tried reaching to you yntil you stepped back. Then you gave her a bag then left. Although suspicious, she opened it, seeing a hand warmer and a letter saying it was for her, and you don't want her to catch a cold.]

Traveler continued walking the path, going into Albedo's lab. They see him and Klee as Albedo sits with klee as she drew something. The traveler greeted them with a smile as Albedo and Klee returned it. The traveler asked what was going on as Albedo explained that a mysterious person with a black cloak gave her a paper of how to build safety bombs. Klee ran to Albedo [big brother because I say so. It's now fan Canon, and I am proud of it. >:) ]

and Albedo is strangely not asking why.

[You are friends with him, heh. He knows you are the creator since you have already proven him, but honestly, you didn't know how. He never told anyone because he wants you for himself. You may or may have flirted with him, but he didn't understand—]

Anyway Traveler asked them if they had seen the 'imposter.' they said no. Traveler sighed, disappointed they went back to the room where Paimon is, welcoming them back. The traveler told Paimon there is one last place they could look for to find them.

The cat's tail. They went in and saw Diona almost in tears behind a person, the 'imposter.' You were defending her from this drunk guy

"I am this f—cking close to beating the sh—t out of you. Ugly a$$ mother fu—"

But your fingers were touching...yeah you made him go to the celestials, "infinity and beyond!"

Diona hugged the stranger (you) as you comforted her, giving some candy which she declined with a pout. You disappeared into air as the Traveler and Paimon tried to get closer.

"Dang it! We were so close!" [Paimon]

The traveler sighed as they asked if Diona was ok. She was but closed the cats tail. As the Traveler went outside, they saw Mona. They quickly ran to her and tiredly asked her to look into the 'imposter'. As Mona tried, she opened her eyes and fell down. Although there was strangely a pillow landing her impact of the fall. The Traveler asked what happened as Paimon began to panick. Mona quickly said that she couldn't reveal..seems like she knows something

The traveler went back to the room, disappointed. Suddenly a note fell through the opened window.

"Hello outlander Traveler.

I heard you are finding me, so I am here to tell you I am going to Liyue. I know you are wondering, "why is this bi— I mean 'imposter' telling me this?" Well I would like to play this little game with you of trying to catch me. I hope you succeed!

he tastes like boba, sweet and full of flavor, its a little too sweet for your taste but you don´t complain, its from him after all. you wonder, just how much boba can he drink in a day, you´ll never know.

Diluc

he tastes like grape fruit, sweet with an almost wine-like taste, although he doesn´t drink wine, he drinks grape juice. it´s a weird thought that someone who makes wine doesn´t drink it.

Kaeya

he tastes like wine, and even though the taste from his mouth is sweet, the wine was not, if you pay attention you may notice that. you don´t remember him buying any wine today, did he steal it from Diluc?

Tighnari

he tastes like mushrooms, but coming from him its sweet, you wonder were the sweetness came from, perhaps its his lips against yours. you really hope the mushrooms aren´t poisoness this time.

Albedo

he tastes like the spider he just ate, its oddly bitter but still sweet in a way, you still find it weird to eat spiders, but coming from his lips its not so bad. you really hope that spider wasn´t alive.

Childe

he tastes like the fish you just grilled together, the fishy taste forgotten in the kiss. and all tough you ate some too, you can´t seem to find the flavor in the heat of the moment.

Hi, I saw you were accepting requests, could you do sibling scara in SAGAU with a reader that’s oblivious to courting attempts of her yandere acolytes?

SAGAU CONCEPT: COURTING THE SUPREME GOD

❀ synopsis: how will the acolytes pursue the favor of an oblivious god? this is going to be a various x god! reader

❀ pronouns: They/them

Ok, this solely depends if this is regular sagau or if this is my interpretation of cult au where the reader is a god who has existed since immemorial. If this is regular sagau the acolytes will lean into the idea of being your possible consort since you seem human despite the claims that you are the primordial god who created the universe. Some of the bolder acolytes like Venti, Childe, Kaeya, and Kaveh will be open about their attempts to woo you. While others like Xiao, Diluc, Rosaria, and Raiden Ei will be subtle with their approach.

While the big reason for wanting to be with you is because they (obsess over you) love you, some also like it for political power and the status that comes with being your lover. It would be easier to control and manipulate the people who aren't there for business to stay away from you, making it easier to cut off your personal ties and isolate you from everybody. Some examples of acolytes who would do this are Ayato, Zhongli, and Ningguang.

Poor reader, whatever profession they had in their old life wouldn't compare to their new life being the ruler of all of Teyvat. Your workload would double because of your followers trying to win your hand in marriage (that you never wished for). Some of your acolytes like Aether and Wanderer would try to reach out to you and convince you to take a break with them and steal you away to travel. Meanwhile, the others like Albedo, Ganyu, and Ayaka who promised to help you lessen your work will wonder where you left and notify the others of your disappearance.

Your obliviousness doesn't help in the acolyte's cases, and even some considered just yelling to you that they wanna (fuck you) marry you. But some are patient and will take their time in making you realize that their intentions are far from platonic and that they are more suited to be your partner. Ngl some of your acolytes might die in this situation since some of the characters will play dirty if it means they get to be your partner in the end.

Now, onto (my version of) Cult AU darling...

Cult AU darling has a bigger advantage here since 1. they have powers. and 2. they are one of the gods who existed before time so managing Teyvat is nothing to them. I would like to think in this case most of the acolytes would hesitate on courting you since, well, your YOU. You're the personification of life and death, your knowledge of the world exceeds every one. But there will still be some acolytes who will try to court you despite this fact.

Shenhe would be one of the followers who despite knowing she will never be your partner, will try to win your favor by being as helpful as possible to you. Every time you visit the adepti she would be right beside you waiting for your every order. Noelle is similar to her but she takes it to the next level, every lunch break she brings you a cup of freshly brewed coffee along with some of Monstadt's delicacies.

I feel like you wouldn't be oblivious in this situation since you are literally an omniscient/omnipotent god, but you just decide to ignore their advances. Which doesn't hurt any less for your followers. Some of the followers like Tighnari or Jean will cover up the hurt by working, but it seems almost impossible to not acknowledge the gaping hole in their hearts. But they understand.

Lovers are supposed to be the other's pillar for support, but your responsibilities as the god of Teyvat are too heavy for anyone to bear other than you. Lovers are supposed to have knowledgeable conversations with one another, nobody can match your knowledge of the universe other than yourself. Lovers are supposed to protect one another, you can easily defeat everyone without anyone's help. You can't possibly be anyone's match unless you duplicate yourself then it might be possible.

But you shouldn't underestimate their determination, some will try to look for ways to ascend beyond the heavens so they can be equal to you.

Inazuma felt different when you weren’t around; Itto had been waiting for weeks for you to return from a mission overseas, and with every day that passed his frustration and desparation only grew, so the moment he heard that you had returned at last, he almost tripped over himself in his rush to see you. It was only when he noticed the grim look on Kuki’s face that he halted, confused. Gently, she informed him that you weren’t in the best condition right now, and suddenly the eager feeling in his stomach was replaced with a cloying knot of fear. Without another word, Itto took off at a sprint and didn’t stop or slow until he was by your bedside, engulfing you in a bearhug faster than the healer could stop him and rambling nonsensically about how happy he was to have you home. His heart pounded where your temple was pressed against his solid chest, and his oni blood tingled with relief now that he knew you were safe, albeit more scraped up than he would like, and back in Inazuma where he can protect you. He vowed, his voice shaking a little pitifully, that no matter how long your recovery may take, he would be by your side, and Itto always kept his promises to you. Every day, he brought foods and drinks helpfully sourced by Thoma, and spent hours sitting with you, either fussing over your bandages with worry pinching his brow or desperately goofing around just to see you laughing instead of in pain.

Evening was just beginning to settle over Mondstadt and the Cavalry Captain was on his way to Angels’s Share to warm a barstool for the remainder of the night when Noelle came running through the cobbled streets towards him, eyes panicked and gasping for breath. In a single rush of breath, she informed him that you had been found, unconcsious and bleeding profusely, outside of the city, and that a few knights had already taken you to Barbara. Familiar frigid cold engulfed Kaeya’s body, and all thoughts of bothering Diluc were wiped from his mind as all he could think of was you, whether you would be okay, whether he would get to hear your sweet voice again. With a short word of thanks to Noelle, he turned on his heel and climbed the stairs to the Cathedral quickly, as though to outrun the dread that nipped at his heels with every step. When he finally laid eyes on you, bruised and bandaged but awake and smiling weakly at Barbara, an involuntary sigh of relief escaped him. For a moment he stayed where he was and simply watched you, feeling the fear loosen its fierce grip on his heart gradually with every second that passed. Of course, he would have to tease you about your inability to dodge attacks aimed at you, but that could wait a few days at least. For now, he would be at your every beck and call, spoiling and pampering you as he felt you deserved until you recovered from your injuries- and then maybe a little while longer too, until Kaeya stops beating himself up for not being able to prevent your injuries.

As a soldier in the Watatsumi Army, you were bound to get injured sometimes; Gorou just hated that he had watched it happen, seen the sword slash the air as though in slow motion before it caught you in the ribs, leaving a deep gash in its wake. A scream tore from his throat at the same time as you let out a yell of pain, and suddenly his legs were carrying him across the battlefield to you, arms wrapping around you to prevent you from hitting the ground. As the battle raged on around him, he carried your weak body to the healer, muttering words of apology as you complained of the pain when his trembling hand pressed to your wound, applying pressure in the hopes of slowing the bloodflow. Even as the healer worked, the general clasped one of your hands in both of his and waited resolutely, only his pinned-back ears hinting at the fear that had seized his heart the moment he saw you in danger. Once you’re stable, Gorou does his best to put on a stern expression and chastise you for being reckless, but his voice shook too much and his hands clasped yours too tightly; you felt the anxiety and fear radiating from him, and squeezed his hand back in a subtle display of comfort. For weeks, Gorou insisted that you rest and avoid battle until you were fully recovered, much to your irritation; he knew that he was being ridiculous and overprotective, trying to prevent you from fighting for the resistance, but the general simply couldn’t handle seeing you get injured, and he would do anything he could to prevent it from happening again.

Diluc was plenty familiar with how the deep redness of blood marred his hands, staining the skin no matter how hard he scrubbed it away, and the sight of your blood was no different. Despite having scrubbed his hands until the skin was raw and pink, the ghost of your blood still glistened sickeningly in the shadowy, candlelit hallway that Diluc paced as he waited for the doctor to finish tending to you. The sun was beginning to rise over the Winery, and the Darknight Hero had not yet slept; just a few short hours ago he had found you among the remains of a hilichurl camp, barely conscious and with hot, dark blood soaking through your clothes. The events that followed had gone by in a whirlwind of panic; strong, gloved hands pressed against your wounds and familiar lips whispered pleas for you to stay with him, stay conscious, stay alive. But now, there was nothing left for the man to do but wait until he could see you; so, he paced. Back and forth, back and forth, right outside the only door that obstructed you from his view. Every so often he stopped, fists clenched tight, and fixed the wooden obstacle with a fierce glare, as though hoping it would simply shrivel up and move out of his way; when it finally swung open, Diluc steeled himself for bad news, but was elated to instead hear that you were stable. Letting out a deep breath, he sent the doctor away and stepped, slightly hesitantly, into the bedroom- the bedroom that you would not be leaving for at least two weeks, upon the doctor’s orders. It was, however, upon Diluc’s orders that you were treated like royalty for those two weeks, supplied with all of your favourite meals and all kinds of small gifts that Diluc insisted on buying for you, while a maid waited by your door at all times in case you needed anything. It was the least Diluc felt he could do, after he had failed to keep you safe from harm- a failure he would ensure never happened again.
