still wild to me that nowadays motion twin is known for their banger roguelike dead cells when, as a french, i mostly know them for frutiparc, kadokado, muxxu/twinoid, and all of their freemium games

3 people that inspire me

1.  Arsi Patala / Hakita, is a Finish game design student and the main developer and composer behind Ultrakill, it is his 1st commercial game project (it is still in early access as of writing this post). For Ultrakill Hakita took most of his inspiration from Doom and Devil May Cry, he also took inspiration from a bit of Bayonetta, Vanquish, Titanfall 2.

Ultrakill is a classic movement shooter, with lots of amazing movement techniques and combos.

I really enjoy Ultrakill and it made me really like movement shooters, I want to make a movement shooter taking inspiration from Ultrakill and other games with movement techniques.

Hakita has been in 2 Global Game Jams. The 2 games he made for these Game Jams were Desert Van and General Help Hotline.

Dessert Van is about driving around in a Camper Van, trying to manage resources, like fuel, food and sleep. the player can get out of the van and roam about looking for supplies, like food and fuel.

General Help Hotline is about a help hotline employee, who has to answer calls from people asking about something, the player has to answer the questions fast enough and give the right answer or he will get told off by his boss.

Hakita seems to be a really private person so i couldn’t find much about him.

2. Motion Twin is a small team of 10 people, indie games studio. they mostly make Mobile Games but made Dead Cells which is a Rogue Like Metrovania. they also made: Teacher Story, Arkadeo, Mush, KadoKado, Fever and Kingdom.

Later on Motion Twin made Evil Empire, which is made up of some ex Motion Twin employees. Evil Empire has taken over the development of Dead Cells, so Motion Twin can work on some other games. Motion Twin and Evil Empire share an office and sometimes play Smash together. There are over 50 employees in Evil Empire right now.

The reason Evil Empire called themselves Evil Empire was because they wanted to be the opposite of evil, because there’s a lot of hate in the games industry.

I do like Dead Cells and i’d like to make a Rogue like, like Dead Cells. I really like the way they make the sprites for Dead Cells, they use 3D modals and then use shaders to turn them into pixel art sprites.

3. Hidetaka Miyazaki is a Japanese creative director, designer, scriptwriter, and executive for From Software. he joined FromSoftware in 2004 and worked on the Armored Core series and after that he worked on the Dark Souls series as a director. 

In 2012, FromSoftware got approached by Sony to develop a new game, Miyazaki asked if he could develop a game for eighth-generation consoles and BloodBorne was developed from there. Miyazaki was in charge of both BloodBorne and Dark Souls 2 but he couldn’t split his attention so he stopped working on Dark Souls 2.

Mizazaki also worked on Dark Souls 3, Déraciné, Sekiro and Elden Rings, in the following years. In 2014, Hidetaka Miyazaki became the company president, for FromSoftware.

Miyazaki was influenced by Ico, Dragon Quest, The Legend of Zelda and Kings Field, series.

Malam ini aku kembali terpenjara pada kenangan kita, mungkin lebih tepatnya kenanganku akanmu.

kenangan bagaimana aku yang tak henti berusaha untuk ada diduniamu.

kenangan akan bagaimana aku selalu dan selalu ingin belajar menjadi pasangan terbaik untuk hidupmu kelak.

Namun, di tengah jalan aku gagal. Atau mungkin, kau yang mengagalkannya.

Malam ini, seminggu sebelum kau berulangtahun. Rekaman-rekaman akanku yang selalu sibuk memikirkan kado terbaik apa yang akan kuberikan untuk hadiah ulangtahunmu disetiap tahunnya kembali berputar.

Tahun ini terasa beda, malam ini aku tak lagi sibuk memikirkan kadokado itu. Namun aku sibuk memikirkan, bagaimana aku bisa melupakanmu dengan segera. Menjalani hidup tanpa dibayangi oleh kesakitan dan kehampaan ini lagi.

Aku ingin memelukmu barang sejenak dan duduk dihadapanmu, hanya untuk sekedar menatap wajah yang selama 3 tahun kemarin selalu aku tunggu kepulangannya. Aku nantikan kabar darinya.

Aku berusaha membencimu, melupakanmu dan menganggap kau tak pernah menjadi apa-apa dalam hidupku. Namun semakin aku melakukannya, semakin sesak ini menghujamku.

Dan malam ini, malam dimana aku merindukanmu dengan sungguh.

Malam seminggu kau akan menikmati usia barumu, izinkan aku yang pertama memberikan segala doa terbaik untuk hidupmu.

Semoga hari ini, esok dan selamanya bahagia akan terus bersamamu tanpa pernah berniat meninggalkanmu.
