Let's Go

"It's not too late, let's go."

Abby blinked at Henry, her eyes aching after the mega sob he'd interrupted (then remained throughout). "What?"

"Let's go? I mean, I can't stop W--" He swerved from the name under the force of her glare. "I can't stop him being a dick but…" The words trailed away.

She looked away, not seeing anything as she thought it all over. Will had arrived back from Bolivia and while Doctor Magnus warned he'd be different, Abby hadn't expected the vitriol that flowed from him. It was embarrassing actually, finding the first hidden corner away from his room and breaking down in tears. Suspects regularly said much worse to her.

But then Henry came along, sat next to her, and didn't flinch when the tears came back full force. Which was weird now she thought about it - he always struck her as a nervous 'ack, stop crying!' type of guy, not this chilled guy watching the door as her heart tried to beat again.

… She could do with going out.

"Are you sure there's an ice cream place open this time of night?" she croaked, smiling. He grinned back. Maybe crying wasn't so bad after all.
