for all the laws the US passes promoting trans genocide, I see other countries passing laws to make the lives of trans people better, like Finland that just redid their gender change law, and Scotland(?) that is trying to leave the uk to be able to pass a comprehensive trans protection law, it feels a little bittersweet but more than anything it just feels like hope, there are places where we're respected, there are places where we're safe, there are places where we're loved, and there will be a world one day where we are not fighting for our lives, our rights, and basic respect, there will be a world one day that welcomes us with open arms and I will fight like hell to be alive to see it

#as someone in the rural south right now all we have left here is hope and anger and fear #we cant let ourselves even think about it too long here or we break down crying or panicking #its heartbreaking that im going to have to leave the appalachians and everything i know and love about the south just to stay alive #its terrifying to take everything i own and my pets and try to move all the way across the country where i dont know anyone #just for a chance of saftey in california that wont mean anything if the next presidental election goes wrong #just for a chance to not be marked a child sex offender for being trans near a school #tw transphobia #trans genocide #tw trans genocide #february 2023
