Pro tip: if you haven't already, make yourself an emergency kit/bug-out bag and check it/swap out any perishables every 6 months or so.

I used mine for the first time yesterday and I was. SO GLAD. to have it. If you don't have one, go make one. Maybe you'll never need it! I hope you don't! But if you do need it you will 100% not regret it.

#everyone is fine #30+ hours of no electricity/heat was no fun #but we're very lucky #no damage to the house or anything #just crossing fingers that the storm expected on tuesday doesn't do it again #I could have made it work without the emergency kit in this case #but having it ready made things SO much less stressful in an already extremely stressful situation
