Okay but on the topic of wonderful food around the world and how narrow people's (WHITE) views are on it
Every time I see a goddam post about "Autism dinner" and it's some shit ass fries and nuggets pisses me off so bad like why is it always that. And then I think about how white families really don't give their kids anything outside of american and italian and then I really think that. There's just a culture of "Kids' food" and "Adult's food" in the west ESPECIALLY USAmerica while in most other countries it's just food. It's food the family eats together. Which creates an artificial pickiness since they simply weren't exposed to different foods as a kid. And also the culture surrounding foods too such as kids not liking broccoli or their greens which is made up. I hate that shit. Food is amazing I love food we need to rewrite the whole of culture
#rambling#i have a lot of thoughts on this topic#this shit really does piss me off. and this also creates huge gaps in cultural understanding and therefor community#since food is the basis of culture i feel. it brings people together is the biggest reason#and so when people dont know how other culture's foods really are they just assume based on stereotyping. oh it must be like that#because they havent been exposed to the very basics#like people thinking all indian food is spicy. what are you talking about#or their only understanding of caribbean food being jamaican patties#which do rule btw. but they dont even know about fried plantains and beans and rice and oxtail stew and fried whole snapper#or not knowing anything at all!!!!#WE NEED MORE SHARING OF FOOD.#which also reminds me of how trying to find fenugreek for ethiopean cooking for myself#just brought up a bunch of 'use fenugreek for healing your root chakra' or whatever#why is this spice being mystified. its just for making things tasty. i want the fenugreek
