I like this post, i really really do. And i would like to point out that what my point forthwith are not an attack on OP whatsoever 😣
Im a SJH fan i will admit this outright, since from back in 2011/12(?) i really adore her looks, is constantly amazed by her personality, attitude and professionalism. And how she carries herself when she was the sole female competing/working together with 6 other males.
When JSM n YSC was brought in, i will admit i was not comfortable with the idea, obviously screen time has to be cut to accommodate the new additions...nevermind when guests are around (which means even less screen time), and the hurt from the rumor of KJK and SJH leaving/fired was still very fresh.
But i liked the dynamic they brought into the show, and i liked the idea of SJH interacting and having another female friend around, its always nice to have someone who understand you (from a female perspective)
I honestly did not realise that SJH scenes where cut until i read an article about it, and when i read the comments...i saw fans blaming the newcomers...and yes, plenty of JSM hate, purely because shes a "woman, out to take SJH's place"...and i just cant agree to that 😓
However, as much as i know SJH and JSM are very good friends and the cast obviously love their new additions...
i find JSM's personality to be very annoying (and yes, this has lead to me comparing SJH and her alot 🙈🙈 im ashamed to admit, but only to my immediate friends! People whobare watching the show with me physically...never in a forum with other fans because i never want to start fan war 😱)
Mostly i hate the fact that she took on the "playgirl character" im not sure if this is my internalized misogyny 😓, but i dislike the way she's always simpering over famous/handsome male guest...and this is because to me- its almost as if she's using RM to snatch a bf/husband and not being professional (the latest episode where she confessed that none of the male guest that she gave her number to has tried to contact her- does not help to dispel the idea above 😣)
I realise this could just be facet of the playgirl character...but using a work setting to get boys? Its just unprofessional to me 😓
And as you mentined above, JSM uses aegyo like a lot...sometime unprompted 🤭 im a fan of awkward aegyo, something that SJH is famous for, so when SJH does aegyo it always looks cringy but so so adorable 🥰 and im left feeling refreshed and end up adoring her even more...and i dont mind so much when JSM does aegyo because she is adorable, and her aegyo are obviously effective. Only that she use aegyo to get her way, way too much..? (Mostly to YSC) It just seem manipulative and creeps me out? 😓
Now! i never go out of my way to send hate towards JSM, because it does bring any benefit to me nor to SJH, and infact will only make JSM stans attack SJH more (i've been in kpop fandom since 2014, i know how it goes 😑)
And i totally agree that SJH's n JSM's friendship is something very precious to both of them and obviously benefecial to both as they have to work together for a long time, they both act as each other confidants and supports each other. JSM is very witty and active, SJH has streets smart and plenty of experience. They compliment each other a lot, and obviously care for each other plenty.
As a SJH fan, while i dislike certain aspects of JSM, i never wanted her to leave nor actively petition for her being kicked out, cuz like i said...i like what they brought to the show. And i really hope that JSM and YSC stay in the show for a long long long time 🤗 and i hope Toxic fans can realise that just because you dont like someone, you dont have to wish bad things to happen on them...because bad wishes and hate always backfires in the worst possible outcome 😣
Mongdol Sisters - LONG POST AHEAD!
Tumblr media
This is the Mongdol sisters. They treat each other like how sisters by blood would.
Now, imagine if they knew how their fans pit them against each other. They’ll be disappointed. Upset. Disheartened of how immature fans would bring one down to lift the other. It’s not making them happy.
We know how Song Jihyo is barely noticeable now than her previous years. Maybe because she’s tired of all the other work she’s doing. Or, she’s just tired of it all. She’s maybe going through something and we just don’t know. Yes, we don’t have a single clue what’s happening to her personal life. So, why the hell are we assuming that it’s because of Somin that she’s barely having any screen time in Running Man? We don’t have a fucking clue so we better stop assuming things and blaming someone else. Let Song Jihyo be and just hope that she’ll overcome any problem she has and we’ll be here to support every decision she makes. That’s how a true fan would do. Support her. Not like the toxic kind of support where you have to bring someone else down to uplift her. You can do this, Jihyo. We’ll be here. That kind of support.
Jeon Somin. A little ball of sunshine that was a great addition to the cast. She’s funny, has wits, and she’s doing her best. Now, why the hell would someone interpret her doing her best as someone trying to steal someone’s screen time? How does your mind works if you thought of that? Ever since she was added to Running Man, she was a force to be reckoned with. Just like what Jihyo did when she started, she tried her best to be an equal to their men counterparts. And like everybody else, she has to have a role. People has been saying a lot about her being the playgirl, too cutesy, blah, blah, blah. unlike the strong, competitive Jihyo. People, why do you have to compare two people with different personalities? Of course, there will be a difference.
Every fucking episodes of Running Man, every videos of them in YouTube, every forums about the casts has shit like this. Blaming Somin, blaming Jihyo. It’s getting pretty tiring for fans that truly wanted to support these two female casts to see things like this. There’s only two of them in a show full of males. Why do you have to pit them against each other? They both have different roles to fill. Different strengths. Different perspectives to things. But they still make it work.
Toxic fans who just can’t stop their blaming should honestly stop. We don’t know if we’re affecting their relationship or even their mental health. These kind of hate has proven to be deadly in the world of celebrities who are in the limelight all their lives. From all the fans who are honestly worried of their idols, please stop.
I’m very sorry for this long post but I’m really getting sick of seeing this shit in everything Running Man-related posts, vids, etc. Us fans have a lot of impact in a celebrities’ life. So if we’re doing this, I don’t know how much it can affect them. Hate all you want but I just want to say this to get it out of my system. It’s bugging the hell out of me ever since I learned about this drama.

Hwayugi: Random Thoughts #2
- Well party people, episode 19 was messy.
- Aside from a very sensuous love scene and post-coital bliss, I have issues.
- SOG was told by the shopkeeper that he’d defeated the death bell and had a chance to change the game.
- Here is someone who never gave a damn about the rules and was kicked out of Heaven because of that attitude.
- Now he cares? Why couldn’t he have spoken with JSM and told her screw the rules, we’ll make our own.
- That is the true beauty of SOG and it has been the messaging regarding his character from the jump.
- Why is he now this fearful person when he has a chance to change everything?
- They could’ve had JSM draw the dragon out w/her blood and SOG kill it. It’s not like it took him more than 5 minutes to do it anyway.
- The build up towards this moment has been going on for ages and this is what we get?
- JSM dead for no damn reason? So that SOG could be the hero?
- JSM has been nothing but a pawn or 90% of this drama and she came into some of her power later on. For what purpose?
- JSM is such a lovely character, but the Hong sisters messed up with her characterization.
- She was a sacrificial lamb and I’m tired of women being placed in that position.
- Had anyone bothered to talk to her and share information, her life could have been different. This includes SOG and his foolish wanna be hero nonsense.
- Give people the choice to participate in their own salvation. Don’t take the choice away from them in some dumb noble sacrifice behavior.
- Teamwork has been a joke in this drama from the beginning. Everyone is in their own world doing their thing.
- NO ONE was thinking of the big picture and planning on how to deal with it.
- All these morons new the end was coming 10 episodes ago! Why was no one planning?
- Instead we get a bunch of stupidity and allowing ASY to have her merry way.
- NO ONE would get rid of her! Everyone had bullshit excuses for keeping her around.
- What exactly has she done but wreck havoc by preying on the vulnerability of those around her?
- Ultimately she was useless too. SOG told her she wasn’t running the show like she thought she was and she wasn’t!
- Props to the actress though. Her portrayal of Bu-Ja/Priestess has been on point!
- KDS is really nothing and no one. Just another greedy dude in over his head and supported by morally bankrupt power brokers and a foolish public. Apropos, but not terribly compelling.
- I’m just annoyed with the senselessness of this episode and how bad writing really ruins things.
- I want women who are not rendered as pointless sacrifices in their own damn stories.
- JSM is supposed to be the hero of this story and she got played by the rest of the characters and the Hong Sisters.
- I Love SOG, but this shit isn’t about him! It is about JSM and her realization of her own worth and value in this world. Not because she is going to save it, but because of her everyday kindness, resilience and strength. THAT is what really matters. It’s not about the big moments, but who we are everyday that counts.
- It’s even more frustrating when women writers make female characters take a back seat so that men are once again the hero’s.
- Love, teamwork, respect, rebellion against fate. This is what SOG and JSM could have been together and to each other. However, count on tired ole sexism to ruin a potentially game changing and powerful couple yet again!
- Guess I’ll see what the shipwreck of an ending will be. Because it’s probably shitty just like their handiwork in “Big.”
