for me one of the best things in fall is that you can pick up chestnuts from the ground. and hold them in your hands and they feel so smooth and have such a nice color. and you can put them in your pockets and carry them around for a while and throw them out later and then they’ve had a little journesy.. or you can close your fist around one while walking and fill it with love and then gift it to a friend. we should be talking about this more

On my way

I‘m on my way to Munich now. I‘m feeling rather excited and can‘t believe that I‘m really getting there. Since I slept mere four hours, the sleep deprivation adds to my feeling of unrealness. As you can guess, I‘m still mildly concerned and suspect hindrances on every part of my journesy – now whether I‘ll be admitted at the hospital (any infections I wasn‘t aware of? And I was feeling bloated for a few days now, is this more than excitement? Anything I didn’t even thought of?). Besides, I‘m thinking about grief and farewell to my body as it was before and how much these changes mean to me and what I need to prepare mentally for these changes. Nothing in particular really. I still can‘t estimate what the removal of my reproductive organs mean to me and whether I undererstimate this impact, both positive and negative-wise, but I decided that’s ok to not know it in advance and that I truly want to give it a shot.

On the other side, I‘m looking forward to have it done, hoping for a good time at the hospital and for my day in the city. Admittance at the hospital usually doesn‘t last longer than 2-3 hours, so I‘ll have plenty of time afterwards to relax and going to one of the Pinakotheken museums. Plus, I got a bunch of positive messages and good wishes for my surgery, and I‘m truly moved by all this kindness around me.

& that's why I prefer cowboy boots.
