I wanted to check out the NBC Dracula series and first I went to check how Mina and Jonathan are portrayed.
Jonathan Harker is upset about Mina pursuing her own career as a doctor because he sees it as her not trusting him to provide for them when they’re married, and Dracula makes him realize she has her own career aspirations that are just as valid as his.
Sure ok. That sounds like them 100%
Yeah, totally. This is an obvious reference to when Mina looks after an ill Jonathan and he loves her deeply and is grateful for her care - wait, sorry, that doesn't match, haha. I mean, it's a reference to when Mina seeks out new sources of knowledge left and right and Jonathan is always supportive and deeply impressed and will happily sit and listen to people praising her at length and even tell them not to stop - dang it, that's not it either. Well, at least the Dracula part is so clearly accurate to the book, what with the Count consistently using and abandoning women, claiming ownership over Mina and gloating about how she will inevitably follow his bidding... Man, somehow that also doesn't work!
I can't explain it. It's almost as though none of those choices match the characters at all! But that couldn't possibly be the case...
