idk how many of those actually sent so ill send the last one again: joseph and caesar but caesar doesnt die and its happy

“Oi, Caesar! If we see this through, we’re getting hitched!”

There’s no ‘if’ about it; Caesar knows this, he can see the plan for victory written all over Joseph’s countenance. He can see the conviction in his movements and he can see the hope that really makes the punches land.

What a thing to say, either way.

“Now’s not the time for a joke, Jojo!”

But just as there’s no ‘if’ about it, there’s no way he’d ever say no.

It comes to pass that Kars meets his end, and so does Joseph. There’s no trace of him anywhere, absolutely nothing, and it makes his heart feel all hollow. Hell, it makes everything feel hollow --- there’s no laughter where there should be, just an aching sort of quiet and saudade. 

That saudade frequently knocks the wind out of him at its worst, and leaves him silent and raw at best.

It’s only right at Joseph’s funeral that the world spins on its axis once more.

The bastard shows up himself, shiny new arm and all, toting Suzy along with him.

After Suzy gets the what-for for her mistake ... After everyone’s line of questioning ... After Caesar catches his breath ... They find a moment together by the grave of the living. The others are polite enough to stand back.

Met with a sober and still moment in the wake of such noise, Caesar and Joseph both don’t know what to say for a moment; or rather, Joseph gives the former the opportunity to slap or snark. But he doesn’t.

“So ... we saw it through.” Caesar says, evenly. Testing the waters.

Joseph’s smile lights up the gloom of the day and the ache of saudade all melts down like snow. The smile reaches his eyes and it’s a genuine smile --- not impish or twisted in mockery --- that Caesar hadn’t seen too often.

“You remembered.”

I finished Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders! It took me forever, but now I can move on to the next season. ^_^
