How I would do a sugar daddy/sugar baby AU. (I hope this doesn't awaken anything in me *side eyes the omegaverse*)

I've seen this well done in this fandom, I'm not saying I haven't, but of the ones I've seen they tend to be omegaverse or mafia/shady sugar daddy.

And I want thirty year old rockstar!Eddie with twink Steve. I said what I said. I think we forget that for the most part Steve isn't beefy. When he's "bulked" up, it's his clothing (Eddie's vest) or its his thighs that are "thicc". But Steve (Joe Kerry in particular out of the role) is thin.

So we have rockstar!Eddie with Corroded Coffin touring the country and doing a couple of dive bars because that's where they got their start and hitting up The Hideout, because again that's where they got their start.

Steve, who recently got kicked out of his parents house because he came out with liking men (gay, pan, bi don't care) and lost his job because again with the liking men thing (small town homophobia for the loss!)

So with his last twenty dollars, he decides to hit up on the local bar and drink away his troubles and maybe even get laid for a warm place to sleep tonight.

He gets dressed in his sluttiest clothes. Crop top, cut off booty shorts, sparkly blue sneaks.

Only he shows up on the night that Corroded Coffin is playing. After paying what he thought was a stiff cover charge (was actually a ticket to see the show) he gets in. He has less money than he hoped but he can only hope that someone is willing to buy him drinks.

He settles in next to the bar and realizes his mistake. The rest of the patrons are dressed in metal gear. Leather, black denim, and lots of chains. Steve doesn't just stick out, he sticks out like a prep in a metal concert.

But he can't afford to go anywhere else, and hopes he doesn't get too harassed tonight. So he keeps he head down and hopes of the best.

Only what he doesn't know is that he has caught the eye of the frontman and lead singer of Corroded Coffin, Eddie Munson. The fact that Steve stands out isn't a detriment, it's a perk.

He wants to find out everything about this boy who stumbled into his enclosure.

The rest of the band is rolling their eyes.

Eddie sends out one of the PAs to make sure that all of Steve's drinks go on Eddie's tab and spends the whole concert watching this guy.

After the concert Eddie sidles up to him and they get to talking. Immediately he picks up that Steve is not old enough to be there. So now he's worried he's under age.

They head out for a smoke and Steve admits that he's not twenty-five like the fake ID says, but nineteen. He shows Eddie his real ID as proof and Eddie is relieved.

They start making out and Eddie takes him to his hotel room to have sex.

In the morning, Eddie asks if he can take him home and Steve starts sobbing. He tells him about his shitty day with shitty parents and shitty boss.

And Eddie's bleeding heart immediately goes out to him and tells him to stay at the hotel for as long as he needs, order room service. Just no booze.

Steve pouts at that but agrees. That as long he stays at the hotel he won't buy booze on Eddie's dime.

Eddie gives Steve his phone number if he needs anything. He transfers the hotel room over to Steve's name, gives him a sultry kiss goodbye and leaves to finish his tour.

Steve doesn't have anywhere else to go and is not willing to look a gift horse in the mouth, so he stays at the hotel. He gets to spend time in the luxurious bathroom with it's fancy shampoos and conditioners and hot tub like bath.

He finds that Eddie keeps sending him clothes and jewelry and suddenly the rich life style that he had with his parents pales in comparison to the extravagant lifestyle Eddie is providing for him.

Through all this Steve is still looking for a job as he doesn't want to overstay his welcome. But news hadn't gotten around town that he was gay and even people he thought he could trust are telling him that they can't hire him.

Eventually he gives up. He talks to Eddie all the time and whenever he feels discouraged Eddie will send him something pretty to cheer him up.

Finally Steve catches the fairy that had been leaving things in his hotel room when he's in the shower or out on the town.

Her name is Robin Buckley and she's a summer intern. Her uncle knew a guy who knew a guy that got her the job. She actually loves it, but she has one more year of high school and her parents won't let her drop out to be a PA for a rockstar.

They're concerned that he'll take advantage of her. Robin thinks it's funny because she's gay. Steve thinks it's funny because Eddie's gay and not into under eighteen year olds.

He tells her his story and over the summer they become best friends. Robin had heard that the Harrington boy had run off so imagine her surprise when Eddie's management had her deliver things to his hotel room. Staying in a hotel room in Hawkins is hardly running away.

Eddie comes back and just continues to throw money and gifts at Steve but doesn't ask for sex again. It's not until Steve tells him that he didn't fuck Eddie for his money or even for a warm bed at that point when he went back to the hotel with him, it was because Eddie cared. And god was that sexy as hell.

When Robin graduates Eddie hires her to be Steve's PA and the pair of them get to travel the world with the band as besties.

sat on this bc I wanted to give a detailed response lolz I love minari so much I thought about youn yuh-jung's performance in that film for such a long time after watching it she was so gorgeous and so phenomenal and when she won the best supporting actress Oscar I about lost my damn mind, so so deserved

other things I love in no particular order:

-the favourite (I love Yorgos Lanthimos' work the lobster is another favorite and his new one coming out poor things looks AMAZING and like it was constructed specifically with all of my own personal tastes in mind - I'm so excited for it and need to read the book immediately)

-not to be a film bro but interstellar is top two of my favorite films of all times idc Nolan is a master and I watch and love everything he makes (ive watched tenet like 10 times and still have no idea wtf is going on and I LIKE THAT about it )

-not to be a basic bitch now but pride and prejudice is my favorite movie ever ever I watch it at least once a month every single month it'll never get old and yes I do cry at the end every time

-to go hand in hand with my love of historical romance novels I am also a great lover of period dramas obviously I love Emma (2020) so much it's a gorgeous work of art, Jane eyre (2011) I love Mia wasikowska, Marie Antoinette and anything else Sofia Coppola has ever made, Anna karenina (another Joe wright masterpiece)

-anything Wes Anderson but particularly Rushmore (1998) which is one of his lesser known films I feel like but it means a lot to me for various very personal reasons and I wish more people talked about it (I need to watch asteroid city immediately)

-PHANTOM THREAD greatest romcom of all time (jk hehe) but fuck Paul Thomas Anderson I don't like that dude

-everything guillermo del torro but particularly crimson peak (guillermo my man pls pls pls plsssssssss do Dracula and cast Adam driver I'll give u my first born plsssss splsssssss guillermo father pleaaassseeeeee!!!!)

-for like comfort movies stepmom (1998) - devastating but I watch it all the time if I could live in any house from a movie ever it'd be Susan Sarandon's house in that movie, billy elliot (2000), 20th century women (2016), lady bird, funny girl - BARBARA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!, howl's moving castle, this is 40 (my favorite comedy ever), paterson (2016), uptown girls, the rocky horror picture show

-oh and more recently the banshees of inisherin moved me so incredibly deeply I actually recently got in an argument with someone who said that it was pointless and stupid and I was SO OFFENDED devastating funny introspective all the things I was very sad when Collin ferrel didn't win the academy award for it I thought he was so ... I don't know what the right word is I guess like changed? in the role of padraic and GOD BERRY KEOGHAN there goes that dream I cried so hard so beautiful Kerry Condon also they were all so spectacularly devastating in that film I could go on about it for days

anon!!!!! it’s a really unique cast, one of the most random and unique we’ve ever had, maybe? when it comes to random hodge-podges of people, i’d vote series 8, 12, and 15? maybe? so it’s hard to say just how i feel about them because these groups can take the longest to sort out their dynamics

taskmaster has this funny way of making you dislike(?) someone you thought you liked or come around to people you thought you didn’t care for. john kearns on catsdown back in the day used to make me want to rip my flesh off — now, because of taskmaster, i will always see him as paddington bear and no one can take that away from me. A SWEETIEPIE. i know many people walked away from s8 liking lou a little less and walked away from s13 liking judi a little more. despite at least a few great routines and his obvious wit, ivo graham’s 90s-hugh-grant-but-bitey/cynical-instead-of-bumblingly-charming schtick has never been up my alley. i am really curious if this series will make me come around to him, because i do think he’s let his guard down a lot more in this environment than the more cutthroat comedy environments — and i like him more for it thus far :) he’s really putting the effort in, too! hahaha

frankie is for old gen panel show fans and old gen panel show fans only!!! i love him sm, he’s the wittiest and his giggles are iconic, and i died of cuteness hearing his kids participated in beating the shit out of him during one of the tasks. i already really enjoy his dynamic with alex; alex has his awkward beats and frankie meets them with his own calm and wit really well. i don’t know if a lot of people have realised this over the years, but there’s a shyness to frankie that i hope doesn’t end up depriving us of frankie content throughout the series. as confident as he can be in his comedy and his opinions, (these days, at least) he doesn’t cut people off, showboat, hog spotlight, etc. so i am nervous he won’t get ample screentime like some of the more hot mess figures like ivo and jenny. AND JENNY IS SO DELIGHTFUL LMAO you’re right the older, quirky ladies who don’t take the show too seriously are hit and miss for a lot of viewers, but i hope with jenny’s enthusiasm that she’ll be on people’s good sides. taskmaster is, at its core, silly. jenny is silly. match made in heaven!

mae and kiell... i don’t have strong opinions about mae. a lot of people like them because they’re very pleasant. i know they’re polite, kind, and explore narratives in their writing that are sensitive and engaging to many, but i wouldn’t say they make for spectacular tv in the context of taskmaster. pleasant. not hysterical, but pleasant. will probably win the series? is it too early to say? (i wonder if a more hyper-on-average cast would help them either open up more or have a more stand-out dynamic/character in comparison?) kiell on the other hand? hm... on the most recent episode of the taskmaster podcast, ed and kiell talk a lot about how kiell is genuinely frustrated or angry with the tasks, the surprises, the inconsistent scoring — and that’s already evident, especially by episode 3. ed suggests it’s his character for the season, but ed and kiell discuss how it’s real and kiell really couldn’t help it showing as the series progressed. this is something that i don’t like and don’t think is funny and don’t wanna see on the show. throwing a fake tantrum, arguing with greg because it’s funny take him by surprise with a random bout of impertinence or give him an opportunity to hilarious retort as the egotistical taskmaster character, jokingly(!!!) calling alex out for his trickery, and so on is funny. though it’s not necessary for a good watch, i do looove when contestants can walk the line between comedy and genuine competitiveness: joe wilkinson did this sooo well if you revisit s2, throwing certain tasks for fun while trying fucking hard and demanding his flowers for other tasks; ed gamble, kerry godliman, and bridget christie are more examples of people who knew where to draw the line in excessively arguing, nitpicking, whining, fuming, sulking — but were still able to deliver enough of that that it was hilarious when their efforts were squandered by alex or greg threw down the hammer. i know it’s a fine line for those who try to walk it! i’m worried kiell is gonna be too butthurt and too sulky to the point that i’m distracted. you have to be able to laugh everything off in the end. speaking for myself, when contestants like james acaster and iain stirling took their butthurt and sulkiness too far, it was hard for me to watch, so part of me is already distracted by the fear of being distracted by this type of attitude. ig that’s all to say i’m not very excited by kiell rn (having never seen him before; no, i haven’t watched ghosts), and i’m a but frustrated the taskmaster podcast made me somehow less excited than i was before, but i hope he hits a funnier stride next ep ...

it’s not that deep these are just my initial impressions after 3 episodes LOL it’s cute so far!

Every four years there is a group of people in America who identify as leftists (and most of them probably are) who come out of the woodwork to explain why they won't be voting for the Democratic presidential candidate that year. For my entire adult life, from Al Gore in 2000 to Kamala Harris in 2024, this has happened on a large enough scale to be noticeable every dang time, except in 2008 when the country was just so utterly sick of the Bush era and so genuinely excited by the prospect of Barack Obama (who then went on to win in the biggest landslide of the century so far).

Point being, these people are disingenuous. There's always something. This year it's all the anti-Israel crap, but in 2020 it was that Joe Biden was too centrist, too old, and, simultaneously, not Bernie Sanders (who is actually a year older than Biden). He went on to become our most progressive and effective president since Johnson.

In 2016 it was that Hillary Clinton was a corporate shill, disingenuous, cold, uncharismatic, etc., and also not Bernie Sanders. We went on to have the most corrupt and damaging president in our nation's history, possibly excepting the lead-up to the Civil War.

In 2012 it was that Obama had bailed out the big banks while ordinary people suffered. There was no recognition of the many legislative accomplishments Congress passed in his first two years, or in his high-quality executive and judicial appointments.

In 2004 it was that John Kerry was too milquetoast, too centrist, and not Howard Dean, and he didn't do enough to position himself as being against the Iraq War, instead running as a Vietnam war veteran to try and appeal to the mindset of the zeitgeist of the time.

In 2000 it was that Al Gore was boring, sterile, uninspiring, and bland.

In every one of these elections except 2004, which was very close by virtue of the War on Terror and two actual hot wars, and the ascendancy of Fox News' propaganda tactics in those days having successfully vilified the entire left, Democrats won the popular vote in every single election. Usually by a lot. Twice losing the Electoral College and thus the presidency. For the most part, this group of never-Democrats on the left hasn't been sizable enough to sway the outcome of elections, but in 2016 the Bernie Bros and other anti-Hillary forces were just barely enough to hand Trump—who even by then was a known con artist, sex predator, and egomaniacal manchild—the election.

In so doing, they shattered any credibility they may have ever had. These are deeply unserious people. They prefer the politics of grievance. They want to be in the minority and rail against all the injustice and oppression, and never actually engage with the hard work of actually governing. (They are just like many MAGA Republicans in that regard.) They aren't willing to vote for a candidate who doesn't spellbind them, and many of them wouldn't even vote then.

The bad news is that Democratic candidates will never have these people's votes, except maybe in elections that were already going to be Democratic landslides.

The good news is that the unreliability and treacherousness of these people means they were never actually part of the Democratic electoral coalition! This is a huge insight to make, because it renders them completely irrelevant.

The correct response to some idiot who thinks Hamas has the right ideas and refuses to vote for Kamala Harris because she won't align the United States with Islamic terrorism is: "Okay. Bye." And then moving on.

Because these people don't matter. They are not serious participants in the democratic process. Let them stay home: They always do anyway. They crave attention, conflict, and argument. They are not worthy of your time.

The battle to win the election, as always, turns not on winning their votes but on conducting robust turnout operations on the ground in battleground states, on organic endorsements by ordinary people on social media talking about why the election matters to them, and on absolutely blitzing the traditional media with ads until nobody can stand it anymore except for those dumbfuck "undecided" souls who think "Hmm....I saw a Harris commercial, and the election's tomorrow, so I'll vote for Harris."

The never-Democrat left likes to proclaim that everyone on the left is a fake leftist except for them. It's halfway the other way 'round: They are the least serious leftists of us all. Never let them shame you for not bending to their bullying tactics and purist rhetoric.

Sorry to post politics on main, but some of you pro-palestine people are missing the point when it comes to the US election.

At this point, there is really no alternative to voting for Kamala. RFK is not getting elected. Trump would be infinitely worse for the Israel-Palestine conflict (as well as other conflicts! and our well-being in general).

Stop virtue signaling and actually do something (vote) so that America can have a better leader than Trump. That’s all. We’re not voting for our next Messiah, we’re not voting between two perfect angels, it’s a US presidential election.

And those of you saying that Kamala is “committing genocide” really need to get things into perspective. The Vice President does not have the power to furnish weapons to Israel. Israel’s prime minister is acting in direct defiance of the Biden/Harris administration’s wishes and Harris has been the most vocal in asking for a ceasefire.

The Palestine conflict is not an excuse to not vote. Not voting makes it likely that Trump will win, history will go on whether you play a part or not. I want my reproductive rights back. Please.

being home is always a rollercoaster for me. things are good, then ok, then pretty bad, then good, then bad again (not always in that order). im getting by more latley on a pair of really thick glasses and no faith in human beings. as of now i have a pro-tools situation and have been recording things, mostly just making up stuff on the go and seeing how it turns out. so far its fun. ive had a lot of my mind as of latley, just how there's so much good that turns straight to bad and im always like this the night before i leave. certain things are constant struggles for me but i keep fighting them and i dont know why sometimes when i end up feeling wrecked, but i guess my brain is trying to tell me that the few struggles i take on are worth fighting. i dunno anymore. i hope so though, because no one should feel unhappy like i do at a time like this. im not unhappy with my life, just unhappy with an aspect of it. otherwise things are pretty ok. i took my dog ben on a walk today and he was running around a lot. i picked him up a few times though he is getting far too large for that and will so be too heavy. i saw some of my friends today, not everyone that i wanted to or everyone as long as i would like to. but the people i spent my time with were more than worthy of it. the one thing that bugs me about going away for long periods of time is when i get home i feel like everything has changed around me to a degree where i cant keep up. like im a step behind every time i get home. eh, late night thoughts.

The day spent dreading flying. I am scared to fly for some reason. Make it to las vegas. Our flight to l.a. Was cancelled. Drove from vegas to l.a. Began working on the songs. Me and patrick are sharing an apartment here, so are joe and andy. Its like old times. The weather is amazing. There are so many good shows here. Went to over it. Gonna try and see morrissey in a couple of days. Hung out with my friend kate from the fight. She's rad. We went up on muholand drive and saw the entire city. It made me feel like I couldn't breathe. She says the word "vitamins" funny cause she's british. She also say the word "safe" a lot and calls sneakers trainers. Their record comes out next week. I command you to buy it. I miss home but this record is going to be worth it. I promise. Its going to make you think about things in a new way.

Sorry for the boring journal entry. I realize I didn't get the closure I wanted from take this to your grave. This record will have the most brutally honest words I have ever written.

i am going to do a better update soon. but just to say- the recording is coming along. andy is almost done with drums. his hair is so flowing. like a pony. nyc was amazing as usual. we have some suprises coming up. (if you don't like suprises than you also probably don't like saturdays, palm trees, puppies, ice cream, first kisses, etc). fuse was fun. thanks for coming out and hanging out, i felt pretty dorky and was a glad there were some people there. im sorry i had to leave right from there to my plane, so i am sorry i couldn't stick around and hang out. we'll be there all day on dec. 26th to make up for it. also, it was definitely weird being anywhere with out the rest of the band so don't expect too much of that. we are attatched at the hip.

their eyes are like pills. its funny. the blue ones take to you down. the brown ones pick you up. it doesn't even make a whole lot of sense looking back on it now. there are a couple of sets of eyes that are like bookmarks in life. they are there to mark the chapters. highlights so you pay attention to the changes. dogeared pages. the way she looked at me the first time- all the blood ran out of me. with the biggest eyes. that trusted and believed and dreamed and hoped and lived. so i blinked. i faked like i couldnt tell. i was always so goddamned scared to see my own flaws reflected on them. and i cant count the times i crushed them. and you realize that they will never look up at you the same.

ok so my new shoes are kind of bad looking. but i like them. both are dunks. one are lowtops and pretty much are bears colors, the others are high tops and are white and blue. i own way more than 5 bad pairs of shoes. i own about 11 that only i enjoy and are not here to impress anyone. they know i love them and i let them know that at least once a day. maybe ill take a group picture of them for you if i get around to it. what i really wanted to say is im sorry i got into xbox so late, but i just wanted everyone to know that just because i started play knights of the old republic 4 days ago doesn't mean i haven't almost beaten it yet. because im just that close. and i made sure to buy the new lord of the rings rpg for such cases where i will need a new video game. but when kotor2 comes out, i will be learning so many force powers you'll wish the force was with you too. but its not. its mostly with me. my dog gets to have some too cause he can jump really high and can still be picked up even though he is teetering on 70 pounds at only 5 months. good job ben! you're growing up! he's probably more a dark jedi because he still nips a little and thinks it's real cool to pee when he gets excited. sorry ben, not cool my friend. just funny. anyhoo, its been a while since ive given a list of what i currently enjoy. here is such a list:

The Tigers At A Glance- The Tigers were above .500 in April and have had two rough months in a row. Detroit went (10-17) in June and have fallen out of the American League Central race. The Tigers just snapped a four-game losing streak with a win over the Angels on Sunday. Andy Ibanez hit .341 in the month of June. Riley Greene was one of their most consistent hitters with nineteen RBI this past month. Javy Baez is working his way back from a back injury and could start a rehab assignment this week. Kerry Carpenter has also been out with a back injury. Detroit hit .213 as a team in June. The Tigers starting rotation has been solid with a 3.72 ERA, which is eight-best in baseball. Kenta Maeda has been roughed up with a 5.76 ERA in fourteen starts. The Twins will face Tarik Skubal and Jack Flaherty, who have been very good. The Detroit bullpen owns a 4.27 ERA, which is 20th in MLB. Justin Foley has locked down thirteen saves with a 2.76 ERA. Will Vest and Alex Faedo have been good set-up men from the right side. Tyler Holton and Andrew Chafin are a good punch from the left side.

The Twins At A Glance- The Twins had a nice June with a (15-12) record. They went (6-3) on their latest road trip and return home for a week. Carlos Correa had a great June with a .388 average, five homers, and twenty-one RBI. His wrist is fine and he had a scheduled day off on Sunday before the day off at home on Monday. Carlos Santana hit four homers with sixteen knocked in June. Byron Buxton was getting hot during the road trip. He hit .421 with three homers and nine RBI in his past seven games. Chris Paddack threw a bullpen session on Sunday as he works his way back from a little stint on the injured list. Brock Stewart and Justin Topa are slowly working their way back from injuries. The starting pitching is getting better as Joe Ryan has been great all year. Pablo Lopez is finding his form and Bailey Ober is being a little bit more consistent. Josh Staumont hasn't allowed a run in seventeen innings with the Twins.

What To Watch For- The Tigers are (4-3) against the Twins this year. The two teams split a four-game series in Detroit then the Tigers took two of three at Target Field in mid-April. Tarik Skubal is (3-3) with a 3.53 ERA in ten starts against the Twins. Byron Buxton has two career homers off him. Simeon Woods Richardson has a 2.45 ERA in two starts against the Tigers. Jack Flaherty has a 3.00 ERA in three starts versus the Twins. David Festa obviously has never faced the Tigers. Kenta Maeda is (1-0) with a 1.64 ERA in two starts against his former team. He has a 3.49 career ERA at Target Field. Manny Margot has two career homers off Maeda. Bailey Ober is (2-2) with a 4.21 ERA in nine starts against Detroit. The Twins need to pick up a few wins over the Tigers, who are in a bad rut lately.
