Sweet Mafia
Dreams:
He was so innocent, so pure and perfect. Cass wanted nothing more than to show him her world. The chaos that writes her everyday.
“Stay still...” she whispered into his ear before sitting up. She wanted to mark him, show everyone that he was hers.
She ran a knife with a delicate hand, down his chest and back up careful not to break skin. He watched her closely hanging on to everything she did. He knew she would never hurt him no matter what danger lurks between her depths. He had surrendered himself to her and she loved it.
Craved it.
Convincing herself, she put the knife down at the side of them and grinds against his now erect shaft. Her own excitement wetting her lace panties. She wanted to claim him.
His innocence.
Because he was only hers.
“Tell me Jayce, do you want me?” She grounded her hips against him harder causing groans to escape his mouth. Pre-cum wet his boxers as he kept his body as still as he could.
“Yes.” He shuttered against her.
“How badly.” Her voice was a purr to his ears that had him clenching his abdomen.
“I need you Cass,” he breathily replies. “Take me...” And that was all she needed to hear before easing back his boxers and pulling his cock into her mouth.
She woke with a start to her day, her heat aches beneath her. She wiped a hand over her face and tugged her hair into a bun getting up to take a cold shower.
Why couldn’t she get him out of her mind?
She knew the answer to the question all too well but she knew the person hidden within her skin would ruin him.
She had a darkness only Tye had seen once. The side of her who craved the world be set to ashes. She had let her anger get the best of her and lost control, she need not to do that again.
Years and years of practice maintaining patience and a calm stature when all she wanted to do is wreak havoc.
Cass turned the water on and stepped underneath the shower’s cold water tapping down her raging hormones and went to start another day.
She let her hair air dry as she put on her clothes for today, the mafia leader still had her own college classes to attend after all. The new semester starts today but at least it was her last year. Putting on some mascara and lipstick she was just about ready for her meeting before she got a call.
“Wassup Tye, what’s going on?” She tugged on her garters and clipped them to her socks.
“Meeting is canceled Cass. I got some bad news for ya...” he paused for a bit, something Cass knew meant it really wasn’t good.
“What is it Tyson?”
“Micheal is back.” He fell silent the moment those words fell from his lips.
“What—“ Anger swirled within her. Pent up and swelling even more, the box she held it in was going to bust. “What do you mean he’s back!?” She was furious to say the least. “I thought I fucking told him if he ever came back I’d— never mind. What has he done now?”
“It’s not good Cass... Just come to the docks.” He replies.
“I’ll see you in 20.” She hung up the phone shaking as she tried to hold back her angst.
***
“So they’re missing.” She stated calmly, too calm.
“Yes...” Tyson was weary. He knew how his friend was like especially when boiled with anger. This calmness was new and he didn’t really like it. He expected her to yell and rage at him and she was doing neither. She looked completely calm and unaffected when he knew that was not the case.
Micheal was after all, the one who betrayed her.
“Okay.” She said simply to the fact that a few of her people were missing. Knowing Micheal he would have killed them by now because they would never speak. “We must inform and warn them to try and stay clear of him until Micheal comes to me himself.” Micheal only wanted her, she knew. He wished to marry her and when she said no he did everything in his power to make her life as miserable as he could... including something she would never tell a soul. Not even her trusted friend knew. One thing she did know is that when he inevitably comes to her she will be ready and he will die.
“Yes ma’am.” Replied Tye and turned on his heel to alert the others. He wasn’t about to make her upset in any way.
She let out a big sigh and went back to her vehicle, right now she had things to do and couldn’t lose herself in the loss of her people. She was going to set up a plan and a damn good one to lore Micheal right where she wanted. She just had to go to her class first. Cass drove quickly down the road not quite speeding but still fast. Making it to her campus in record time she stepped out of her car and grabs her bag.
Professor McKay was her next step, forensic psychology.
Yes she was a psychology major.
“Morning professor.” She stated walking into the class before any other student.
“Ah, morning Ms. Nyx and how are you today?” Professor McKay always favored this sparky student before her. Cass was too smart for her own good she thought, she sees a lot of potential to do great things in the young woman.
“I am well, thank you.” She just wish Cassiopeia didn’t follow in the footsteps of her father. The mafia was not a safe place in terms of their enemies. She knew she couldn’t change her mind. “How are you today?”
“Could be better but I’ll get there. Thank you professor.” Cass sat in her chair and waited for the other students to enter. Suddenly her senses peak and the hair on her neck stands and she feels as if she’s being watched. She turns her head to the window looking out in hopes of finding the source of it. Finding nothing she shivers and turns back around.
“Cass..” Her ears faded back in and a familiar voice calls her. “Cassiopeia?”
She ground her teeth at the mention of her name, often people said it wrong which aggravated her. This person however said it correctly.. interesting. “Cass?” He called again until she turned to meet the beautiful clear blue eyes of someone she could never forget.
“Jay, hi.” She smiled as politely as she could at the moment.
The beast she kept within herself clawed to the surface wanting to claim him right then.
Relax and get back.
“How are you today?” He took in her appearance as he sat down next to her. Definitely not as black as the clothing he met her in but just as dangerous and incredibly beautiful.
“I am well.. thank you.” She smiled while pushing back her thoughts of destruction. “How are you?”
“I’m good, nice to see you.”
Cass remembered him saying last night that he transferred from a different college. However with everything that went on this morning she kind of hoped not to see him. She was on edge and that brought the person she hid closer to the surface.
“Nice to see you as well.”
The professor began to teach but Cass couldn’t focus. Between Micheal being back, some of her trusted colleagues missing and probably dead and the sexual frustration setting back in from this morning because the man of her dreams literally sitting next to her, she couldn’t.
As she began to shake her leg and anxiously tap her pen on the desk Jay looked to her wearily. He knew something had to be wrong but Cass was his biggest mystery he had yet to figure out. He didn’t know how to approach her about how she felt. Before too long the class ended and Cass tried her best to hurry out of the room saying a curt bye to her professor and heading out. She needed a release and quickly before the beast lurking beneath her surface broke free.
Words and sounds faded into nothing as she felt a sense of danger. As she walked the parking lot to her car her hair on the back of her neck rose more and more. She tried to settle herself but the feeling wouldn’t go.
She felt a presence behind her and she quickly grabbed her knife from her garters and threw a quick elbow back causing a yelp from the person. She turned quickly tripping the man and holding the knife to his throat. Adrenaline blinded her until she heard her name, “Shit Cass— relax it’s me.” Connor Ryder, her ex.
“Connie what did I tell you about sneaking up on me.” She grit her teeth as she put her knife away and letting him go.
“Nice to see you too sweetheart.”
“Don’t sweetheart me, what do you want Connor? If you can’t tell I’m busy.” She scoffed.
Connor and Cass had a weird relationship, they left on good terms but the tension between the two was hard to miss.
“I uh... I heard about Mike being back.” He looked sheepish. Michael was a hard subject for the both of them when all Michael wanted was to ruin any relationship Cass had after her refusal for marriage.
“Yes. What about it?” Often times she forgot Connor was apart of the whole mafia. She barely saw him anymore since... she didn’t want to think about it.
“I just want to let you know that I’m here for you. Anything you need just give me a call, my number hasn’t changed.”
Don’t do it Cass... don’t do it..
“Actually there is something I need help with....”
Don’t say it Cass.
“Oh?” He questioned.
“I know you remember all the.. fun we used to have, want to relive that for a day?”
For fuck sake Cass, don’t you listen to your conscience?
“Fun as in?”
“You know what Connie, don’t make me take the offer back.” She rolled her eyes.
“Yes ma’am.” He smiled getting into the passenger side of the car.
Cass got in right after and turns on the car driving off.
“To the spot?” Connor asks.
“To the spot.” She replied simply causing a smile upon Connor’s face.

20. The Hatfields and The McCoys
Peyton
Sitting up in bed, I wiped the crust out of my eyes as the scent of bacon called to me. Showering and doing the rest of my regimen, I threw on some clothes and headed downstairs as Erika set the last strips on the paper towel. Fixing a plate of food, and some orange juice, I rubbed my hands and sat to eat when I noticed her staring me down. “Yes?” “I can’t even believe you.” She chuckled bitterly before shaking her head. “What’s that supposed to mean? Did I do something?” “So you don’t remember how you acted last night or how you’ve been treating me for the past month at that?” “No… Did I forget an anniversary or something?” “Peyton, come on. We’ve been married for eighteen years. I know you’re hurting right now, but it’s like you completely forgot about the rest of us; you ignore me, you don’t spend any time with the kids anymore, and your drinking has gotten way out of pocket.” “I’m dealing with his death for God’s sake, what do you want from me?” “I just want you to talk to me, Peyton!” She cried. Walking up to her, I hugged her close and kissed her gently. “I’ll do better, baby Bear. I’ll try, I swear.”
“Dad, what is all this?” “We’re having a family meeting. Janae, I’m glad you could join us.” Sitting on the couch, she tied her hair up in a messy bun and laid down. “Ok, you guys. I know we’re going through a rough time, and I haven’t been doing my best to ease the load around here, so I want to hear from you guys. Where have I been slacking and what do you think I can work on to make things better?” “Some much needed communication.” Erika muttered bouncing PJ on her lap as he played with his toy. “I do wish you wouldn’t drink so much, Dad. You’re not the same with that stuff.” “I understand, Jayce, and I’m gonna work on that. What about you, Trey?” “Oooh, can I say something, Daddy?” “Yes, Kyla, you may speak.”
“Ok. Well, I behaved really really good in class and Miss Tina gave me two gold stars and she let me be the line leader. And then, I got a 100 on my spelling test and Miss Tina made me star student of the month, and so you remember when you had said that I get a treat when I do good and you promised to take me to get ice cream, well but you didn’t and I don’t really think that was nice because all the other kids got ice cream from their Mommies and Daddies, but I didn’t and so people called me mean names and I didn’t like it.” “What? You got a 100, and line leader, and star student? I’m very proud of you and I’m so so sorry that I missed your big day, Ky Ky. How about I come have lunch with you tomorrow and then I’ll pick you up after school and take you to Steak ‘n’ Shake, ok? That’ll teach those mean kids a lesson.” “Forreal?” She gasped excitedly. “Yes, forreal, princess.” “Thank you, Daddy!” She squealed running over and kissing my cheeks. “You’re welcome. Trey, Janae? Either of you wanna get anything off your chests?”
Janae
“I might be having a baby.” I mumbled playing with my nails. “What was that?” “Nothing. I said this air might be a little stuffy. I’m gonna go walk around the neighborhood and just get a breath of fresh air.” “Ok, Nae. Be careful out here at night now.” “Yes, sir.” Grabbing my purse, keys, and a windbreaker, I headed out and started walking. Ending up at the railroad crossing, I sighed in the nippy air and took a seat in the road to rest my legs.
Laying out on the train tracks, I awaited my fate as I clenched the blank pregnancy test in one hand and my phone in the other. Why did this shit have to happen? I didn’t ask for this… I get good grades, I work a secure job, I even made sure I had enough to help out around the house, though my parents have billions, hell maybe trillions, in the bank! Man, my nerves is on edge…
What if I am pregnant? My parents are gonna fucking flip if I am! I’m supposed to be the responsible one, the one everyone depends on in a time of need and I screwed up. Hearing the roaring of the approaching train, I laid back and relaxed shutting me eyes, ready to end it all. I just can’t do this anymore…
Opening my eyes as the train blew a cool breeze in my face, I looked at the test again and rubbed my stomach. What the fuck am I gonna do? Pulling out my phone, I dialed the one person I knew would bring me some form of solace at a time like this. “Wezzuh?” “Hey, Summer? Are you free to talk?” “Sure, girl. Come on over.”
Summer
“You’re what?!” “I know! At first, I was super scared and anxious, but the more I think about it, the more happy I kinda feel.” “Awww, moo moo!” “I know I know. The problem is what I’m gonna tell my parents or KC at that. Do you know how crazy it is to keep a secret as big as this?” “More than you know, girl… Before our break up, Trey and I were planning on foregoing college so that he could try and enter the NFL Draft.” “What? Why would you do that?” “Let’s be honest here Nae, you and I both know that Trey isn’t the best student. Football is his real goal and passion, not education; he wanted to go straight into the League and I supported his decision, but then he blew out his knee.” Nodding in understanding, she looked up at me.
“What happened with you two anyway?” “I have no idea! I went to see him at the hospital that night and he just flipped; straight up rejected me, girl. It felt like I meant absolutely nothing to him, you know? All this time we spent being together and loving each other just went right out the window. That type of shit is devastating.” “So why did you go out with Landon then?” “I really don’t know, girl… I was so hurt and frustrated that Trey wouldn’t talk to me, so I decided to do something he wouldn’t like with someone he despises.”
“So did you really sleep with him?” “Hell no! I only went out on that one terrible date and then I never spoke to him until the morning I found out Trey was back in school. I wanted to do something to get his attention, but that all backfired.” “Damn. You know, he was livid after that stunt you pulled.” “I know. He took it out on me later.” “He what?!” She squealed almost choking on her hot cocoa. Giggling, I blushed as she tried to recover. “I mean that he yelled at me, silly. We’ve been seeing each other for a bit and we’re talking about getting back together; as far as getting the goods, he’s gonna have to earn that back.” Hearing the doorbell, I got up and headed down to get it when I saw that it was Kassius.
Kassius
“I know she’s here, Summer. Can you please just tell me which room?” “Follow me.” Walking upstairs with Summer, I saw Nae lounging around on her bed as she pigged out and flipped through channels. “Sums, who was it at the door?” Looking up, she saw me and I could see the guilt written all over her face. “Hey, baby.” “Hey baby? Janae what the hell is wrong with you? I come over to your house to see you and your Dad is all up in my shit for no reason. He got every cop in town out looking for you! What the fuck is going on?” Looking down, she teared up and started crying as my anger softened. “Look, bae, I’m sorry for yelling at you. It’s just that you had me worried sick about you. Please stop crying, baby…” I said sitting beside her and holding her as she sobbed wildly.
“I have to tell you something, Kassius.” Eyeing her, she wiped her eyes and moved her hair behind her ears as she prepared to speak. “What is it?” Playing with her fingers, she frowned and refused to look at me until I gently held up her chin. “You can tell me anything, Nae.” Sighing, she looked over and Summer nodded before getting up and heading downstairs to give us privacy. “Ok, baby, you making a nigga nervous here with the silence. Will you please tell me?” Hugging me, she kissed my neck and rubbed my curly fro before trailing up to my lips. Breaking the kiss, she grabbed my hand and laid it on her stomach before looking down at it. “I’m pregnant, Kass.”
“Kass? Kassius?!” Opening my eyes slowly, I saw Janae crouched over me with a concerned expression as she rubbed my forehead. “What happened?” “You passed out.” Leaning up in confusion, I looked around and realized we were still in Summer’s bedroom before looking back at Nae. “Damn.” “I was telling you some news…” Scrunching my eyes, I looked up at her before gasping as it hit me. “You-” Smiling, she nodded and placed my hand on her stomach. “So that’s why you’ve been acting so weird lately… My baby is having my baby.” “So you’re not mad?” “Baby, why would I ever be mad at you? Scared, worried as hell, incredibly in love, but never ever mad, Janae.” Sitting all the way up, I sat her in my lap and kissed her passionately. “I love you, Kass.” “I love you too, baby. Now let’s get you and the little one home.”
Pulling into her driveway, I pecked her hand as she bit her lip nervously. “Don’t be scared, Nae. I got you.” Resting her forehead on mine, she rubbed my beard and regulated her breathing. “Thank you, baby.” “Always and forever.” Smiling, she kissed me before I helped her out and we walked into the house.
Erika
Sitting on the couch, I cried as Cheyenne rubbed my back. “Where can she be?” “I don’t know, E, but we’re gonna find her, ok? I promise you.” Watching Peyton pace the floor, he got more anxious and hostile with each passing drink. “Mom? Dad?” “Oh, thank God you’re ok!” I cried hugging Janae as she and Kassius walked in. “And just where the hell were you?” “Hey, just calm down, Mr. Ellis.” “You don’t tell me what the hell to do! You could have been hiding her for all I know.” “Dad, it wasn’t like that.” “I will get to you when I’m ready, Janae.” “Aye, Pey, just take it easy on her. She just a kid.” “My kid, Kingston! I’m her father, and I’m not gonna sit back and watch her throw her life away for your son.”
“That’s enough! Now I done sat back and listened to you disrespect my family for long enough, Ellis. My son is not a bad person, and they’re happy in their relationship despite what you choose to believe.” “Nah, pops, it’s fine. Mr. Ellis, sir. I know you hate my guts, in fact, you’ve had your prejudiced opinion on me since the moment you saw me in her room, but know this… I love your daughter and she loves me back, man. Now that’s something you can’t stand to see, why? I don’t really know, but I’m not leaving your daughter’s side until she sees fit that I’m not right to have around anymore.” “It’s true, Daddy. Kassius and I are happy and hes not going anywhere anytime soon. Mom, Dad… I’m pregnant.”
