Regulus who knew he was trans from a young age, like a very young age but his mother never let him express it. to the point where he was forbidden of talking about it, to anyone. But then Sirius went to Hogwarts and became a gryffindor, then Sirius came home over christmas break and fought with their mother every moment of everyday. suddenly walburga was all about having another son, another heir. where regulus' transition had been moving at a glacial pace before it was suddenly handled quickly and efficiently and most importantly to his mother, quietly. magic is an incredible tool for transitioning, so incredible that no one questioned that the Black's who used to have a daughter now have a son. Regulus for the first time could truly recognize himself in the mirror. but had to live with the knowledge that he owes this to his mother and she would never let him forget it.
