as much as my memories and connection with the dream smp has been tainted overtime due to reasons, i still cant get myself to hate that time period and the server as it truly was what kept me creatively stimulated during covid. it is what got me back into minecraft and allowed me to be introduced to so many other creators beyond what i thought i would watch and for that im grateful. this may be bittersweet in more ways than one but i just want to say thanks for all the memories, the good and the bad, and goodbye.
#its funny cause beyond the goodbye stream i have blocked all dream smp adjacent content due to the controversies and discourse#but i just had to watch the stream cause even though i dont care that much about the creators anymore it felt like i needed to get closure#seeing technos base really did get me though and the fact that dsmp was the last server he was on... yeah that hurts#im very conflicted on the dsmp cause of all the bad that came out of that era from fans and creators associated with that#but i cant ignore that it truly created so much happiness to so many others#its nuanced and difficult to comprehend but isn't that what life is all about#so yeah goodbye dream smp and onto newer and better things in the future#dream smp#dsmp

First of all I want to thank you for spending your time on such a nuanced reply rich with information and sources.
Second, I think I need to explain my mind better because I feel like there is a misunderstanding since I see your irony at the beginning.
Look, I deeply understand how annoyed you must feel since all of the enormous amount of accusation of nazism Ukrainian people have been facing for at least a year already. But I kindly ask you to understand me, that my questions and doubts are genuine. I am not maliciously trying to accuse Ukrainian people of nazism and argue about it. I am saying this because since the beginning of the war I have been desperately trying to prove that some overwhelming or serious presence of alt-right ideology in Ukraine is a myth spread by russian propaganda. I know about russian nazism and racism myself pretty well as I'm a non-russian here. My doubts and questions began simply because I have been trying to listen to Ukrainian voices, to the people and came across something I can neither understand nor support.
First was the idea that ruscian fascism has its roots in the 'asian ancestry'of russians. Or their connection with finno-ugric peoples. I hope that you are familiar with this rhetoric. This was even mentioned by Oleg Dunda, who said that problems of russian society lie in 'Asiatchina'.
Second was simply when I started following several Ukrainian people, especially military personnel, I started seeing post like this:
Maybe wiki is mistaking, but this is the person this woman calls legendary. I know about the reasons OUN members allied with Third Reich, I understand that it was a chance for freedom, this is not the issue I'm having with those who honor them. My issue is honoring exactly the people who directly committed massacres like the person mentioned in the tweet on the screen.
https://mobile.twitter.com/Mykhailova_A/status/1595059538121883653
And as you have seen Alina Mykhailova isn't a no name. One screenshot isn't enough, but if you check the tweet, there is a good number of likes and retweets under it. So that's not a single case. And okay, I keep saying to myself that this is only a small part of the society, it's not everyone. But it is difficult to support this kind of people. I mean exactly these persons, not Ukrainian people as a whole.
Another thing that was very saddening and dissapounting to see was the hatred towards Roma people. Look at the reaction under this tweet:

I understand that you as a Ukrainian know your society much better than I do, you have more information to draw conclusions. But at the same time I have a couple of Ukrainian friends(who live in Ukraine their whole life) and who say that alt-right ideas are an issue in Ukraine. And they mentioned that long before the war. And they also mention that they can't really talk about it openly as they get a lot of hatred. Who should I listen to in this case?
What's the conclusion of all this that I want to make? I totally do not agree with the lies about nazis in Ukraine. I continue supporting Ukraine and condemning russian fascism in all ways possible, spreading info, convincing all of my friends and relatives about the truth. I even tried to make a small investigation with statistics on this issue, which was criticisied by some leftist Ukrainians itself that I'm preconvinced(about the absence of the popularity of right-wing ideas). But it is very weird and difficult to comprehend ot when you see all of this and you don't really see anyone among Ukrainian people call it out, when you see several educational bloggers repeat again and again that this doesn't exist or try to justify it. So what should I do in this case? How should I understand this? Ofcourse, it's dissapointing I'm in doubts. At least because I'm already sick of white slavic nationalists seeing everyone non-slavic and non-european as some second-class humans, of racism and bigotry. That doesn't stop me from fully supporting Ukraine snd bashing ruscism though.
Once again I'm genuinely grateful to you for spending time on providing all the info to me. I will continue educating myself on this point. I also hope very much that you understand me.
