Never watched FMA what's wrong with it?

most of it is just very classic shonen stuff that I don't dig but aren't inherently bad...but it's got...skeevy to say the least narratives about genocide/colonialism/fantasy racism. and despite being written by a woman and hailed for feminism reasons the rare female characters aren't that good. it's not terrible per se it's just mediocre with some good parts and some headache inducingly terrible ones. here's a more elongated ask where i talked about it in further detail

#I just think it's popular bc this website runs on nostalgia and nerds being unable to read stuff for an audience older than 15 #if you like the fantasy war crime army propaganda angle try number five lol #its not free of racism but it doesn't spend it's runtime pardoning war criminal characters #although if you just want shonen battle drama stuff and don't mind the politics you'll like FMA #but regarding shonen fun. i had more of a blast with naruto of all things #ask
