Thank you for linking to that fantastic Carina video, I’m sort of new to the show and I get all the news and links from you and I always appreciate everything you bring to the fandom.
I absolutely love Cam’s work from other ships/characters’ vids and I never thought about checking if she ever did some for Marina/Carina and she did and they are all amazing ❤️
I have to say reading the comments for the Carina vid showed everything I can’t stand about this fandom. The Maya stans who hates Carina because we know she only there to be loving and supportive of Maya 100% of the time, the second she has her own feelings and might be ~~mean~~ to poor defenseless Maya she’s a monster. They really watched a 8 minutes video about her to say how much she sucks! That’s commitment!
I know “shippers” like this from other fandoms (tbf it’s not a new thing) and I always think they are a bunch of unpleasant weirdos. The ones who loathe one character of a ship and keep shitting on them all the time because they relate to the other character to an embarrassing degree but wow Maya does get a lot of them.
That's so nice, thank you! ❤️
I've been following Cam since the Wynonna Earp days and loved her Wayhaught edits so I was very excited when she started watching/editing Marina. She does such great work!
I saw the one long comment in particular from a Maya fan that was destroying Carina and blaming her for everything that Maya was going through and I just don't have the patience for those kind of people, they're idiots. If people can't understand that Carina didn't abandon Maya when she left her at the hospital at this point then they'll never get it or understand Carina's character and they clearly don't want to. They just want to blame her for everything. Like calling her controlling and arrogant? Where?? And I'll never understand either how people will do that to a character when they apparently like the ship...like how do you not like both characters then? Makes no sense. They must not truly like Marina and only care about Maya because why would they want Maya to be with someone so awful in their eyes 🙄

Station 19 - Final Thoughts
There! I finished the whole show (which is kinda crappy cause now I have to wait for what, at least six months?). So here are my final thoughts, to wrap it all up.
Season 3. They managed to make me think of it as both very strong and very weak, which is an accomplishment in itself. There was a clear change of style, starting right away in 3x01 with those flashbacks. Through the season I was relieved to find out they weren’t featured in ever episode, and they weren’t all bad, but overall I could have done without. In many occasions they just don’t add much, and simply take away precious time. I hope they drop them next season.
Just like the previous seasons the action never gets really interesting either, which I blame on a low budget, but also on lazy writing. Seriously, how many times can they get trapped (and almost die)? Just bring on the flames, dudes!
Then again, after three seasons it’s clear that it doesn’t really matter. Screw the action, in the end this show is about its characters.
I’ve shared a lot of thoughts about Maya already, and everything that’s amazing about her, including her character development, her relationship with Carina, and Danielle’s amazing acting skills. (And her eyes.) Now that I’ve also watched the final two episodes I can A. double my praise for all of the above and B. state I’m ready for more. If this show was indeed shit like hell I’d still watch it, just for Maya. (Do I have a crush? Puhlease, do you even have to ask?)
Anyway, let me mention some of the others for a change ;) I’d say Andy’s storyline definitely got more interesting towards the end, even though her final scene was highly predictable. And although he was a mess (and an idiot) for most of the season I think I love Jack even more. I hope he goes looking for his foster siblings in season 4! Travis and Miller are growing on me as well.
Some characters are harder to connect with. Vic for example. And Ben (and talking about Ben: don’t get me started about his OR-on-wheels!). It’s not all their fault though. I’ll get to more of this in a sec. Overall I have to say that I’m embracing this little group. I like them individual, and they’re a fun bunch as a group as well. Actually, one of the things I liked about this season is how they had more fun, outside-the-action moments then before. The calendar stuff was great (I need one!!!), and I enjoyed those scenes of the boat parties.
Now, not to bumb you guys out, but let’s move on to the weak moments. When it comes to s3 there were two things that felt off to me. One I mentioned once before: the way the writers went in like a wrecking ball, writing off everything they disliked over night. Killing characters and breaking of relationships and friendships left and right, within the blink of an eye. We’ve all seen it before (I won’t call names this time). It’s not fun.
My second major issue is - surprisingly - the show I’ve been watching for 16 years, and loving for at least the first 12: Grey’s Anatomy. It took me a while before I got what bugged me so much this season, but then I realized it’s the constant crossover crap. Not so much the (expensive!) guest appearances, though I could do without (except for Amelia, she’s always welcome, in whatever show!) (oh, and Carina of course), but the excessive holes in the story because of it.
I always, always felt like I was two steps behind. Especially in the second half of the season, and especially when it came to Vic and Jackson. And because of that, I just couldn’t care. I watched Grey’s months ago, and by that time I didn’t know these people. Hence I didn’t care. So I don’t remember anything about it. Which is a shame, especially to a character like Vic. She’s got potential, and she deserves more than this.
So my obvious advice to Krista and co would be: STOP IT!!!
Stop trying to mix up these two shows. Stop forcing us to watch both shows to be able to follow their stories. Basically:
With that off my chest (oh, the relief!) it’s time for my final verdict. Do I regret watching because of some annoying choices they made? Of course not.
Station 19 is (mostly) a fun, easy and pretty addictive watch - always making me want more, whether I just watched a great episode or a lousy one. But the excellent episodes win, and the lousy ones show a lot of room for growth. The show really does tell some emotional, compelling stories, and has a very likable cast, bringing some characters to life who I still want to get to know better.
And it has Maya Bishop.
Did I mention Maya already? ;)
So there you go. Not all bad after all!
