yelling at my phone watching the halloween ep of spn where Samhain is involved because fucking everyone in this show is saying it wrong
#its not pronounced like its spelled in english#its not 'sam-hayne' its 'sah-win'#the show has this stupendously irritating relationship w non xtian cultural mythos#in that eveything is demons and only the xtian religion is correct#why even have other cultural mythos in your show if youre gonna approach them like this#just. just stick to ghosts please#should also note that the exact pronunciation differs depending on dialect#but if youre like. from north america or britain youre probably gonna be told its 'sah-win'

stop calling halloween "samhain." samhain refers to the whole month of november
the old celtic calendar's days began at sunset so halloween was the first night and day of the month of samhain
also its pronounced "sah-win" or "sa-win" if any of yall come out with "sam-hayn" im gonna give myself a concussion
