Playing deltarune and getting to the thrashed throne room after reading someone's comment [on Jack's final deltatune ch 2] talking/theorizing about how the king is supposed to be like Susie's dad and stuff and fully putting together how the king treated Lancer really sets in some dark and depressing undertones...

#before it got to the end of ch 2 i was already thinking that something was up with queen and noelle #that queen was somehow a projection of her mother— espcially when vaguely remember her talking of her mother in ch 1 while #standing in fron of her front gate #so that theory about suzy doesnt really seem all thar farfetched to me #and actually going thru and taking suzy's character in again has me thinking her behavior isnt a just because situation #its for the attention shes lacking from home #this is sorta confirmed in ch 2 by the way she behaved in the end #she clearly comes from a toxic family of some kind #but if this is 100% the undertones toby is going for then i really think hes handling it very well #using other characters as parallels/puppets to the situation so the character can learn and grow from it isnt exactly a new thing #but the way hes doing it(if that is the case) feels different fresher even #its subtle and has zero obvious triggering effects too(meaning its not too heavy and doesnt disrupt the style of story telling)#its mostly just small details you have to connect such as susie's appetite and the prior mentioned talk #lancer was going to have with his dad coupled with the horrible state of the throne room and the disgusting treatment befire battle #not art #oops i kept speeling susie's name wrong sjdjs #ive been playing for like an hour a half trying to get to the throne room to save and quit im tired lmao #deltarune #deltarune spoilers
