But rest assure, he does find your Kalim cosplay nice (You might not have the same level lf energy as Kalim, but its better. And he secretly likes the outfit shh-)

Kalim will basically cling around you at break, basically trying to get you know better! Jamil wont mind as long as you keep him under control (give him a break please. Its been like that since 17 years)

Will give you the finest fabric materies, wigs, accessories, makeup—you name it, he'll buy it! He just wants to see you cosplaying. He might even ask you if he can cosplay with you! Its seems really fun :D

You and Vil teach other more makeup techniques when you do each other's makeup. Rook also spying in because he wants to see this beautiful moment.

Vil also gives you some accessories that the cosplayer missed or something. Some additionals if hes interested in adding, Cue Rook complimenting you even more!

Rook calls you Roi de S'habiller, because of your ability to cosplay. He'll ask you to cosplay him (if you agree on it).

Epel thinks your Vil cosplay is nice as long as you don't act like him. Your impressions of him are impressive he wont lie. Maybe its too good that he almost gaslighted himself into thinking its the Real Vil... (Might give you some of his makeup that he doesnt really use... If Vil doesnt notice...)

Vil sees you without your cosplay, he'll definitely compliment your looks. Also might try to put some makeup on you again, he keeps putting random serums and moisturizers on your face while he tells you about it. He's having a field day with it (Now you know Epel's suffering)

Note:Since Rimuru won the poll and I already had a new idea that was on my mind for a few days, so I thought why not make it already? So here it is!

Let's start with a flashback first...

You were just chilling in your bed watching a new anime that your best friend recommended, you thought it was gonna be very cheesy because of its name 'That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime' but as soon you watched it by the first few episodes, well you immediately became intrigued. As soon you finished the anime, you immediately started reading the manga/Light Novel since you wanted to know more but you well somehow ended up falling in love with a certain slime boy in the anime and his name was Rimuru Tempest you couldn't help it, he caught your attention during watching the anime and reading the manga.

Now let us move to the present...

7:00a.m

Beep!...Beep!

An alarm suddenly rings disturbing the peaceful silence and slumber of a girl with the name of [Name] [L/N], she reached out and tried to turn off the alarm that was ringing rather very loudly. The alarm became silent of it's loud ringings, [Name] sat up and began stretching her arms with a yawn.

"Huh..."

You looked at your alarm it was already 7:01, you then remembered the convention you were supposed to go and so you stood up rubbing your eyes gently while walking down the hallway then to the bathroom.

A shout bursts out from the bathroom and you panicked as soon you saw your reflection in the bathroom mirror.

"WHAT THE?! My hair is messier than ever!"

The shower curtains were immediately opened by you rather aggressively. . .

[Name] soon finished her bath, and changed into some adorable dress. You know those coquette outfits that you see on the internet? Yes you were wearing those because you got invited in a tea party by your dear best friend, you accepted since you have been attending plenty of tea parties but the party doesn't start until 9:30a.m so you still had time to visit the convention and maybe buy some merch too.

"Alright! Let's just cover the outfit with a cape to avoid those creepy guys."

At the Convention Event Center...

You reached the event center which was obviously crowded since it was Saturday, you looked on your phone to see the time and it was 7:30.

"Already?! Time sure flies fast.."

You then entered tha Artist Alley, you saw a lot of nrw artists in that place and also the old ones who are currently selling their arts. You passed the Alley then moved to the merch section, there were a tons and tons of merch ranging from Demon Slayer, MHA, and many more but one stall cuaght your eye—it was a TENSURA merch stall, it was rare but you found one on this convention so you took the opportunity to buy some and maybe start a collection.

You finished buyibg the merchandise you didn't have on your collection, you chuckled as you held two bags of merch.

"Well! And soon my collection is complete!—Wait...is that a Rimuru cosplay?"

A really familiar blue hair caught your eyes and a outfit really similar to his Demon Lord clothing—You approached the 'cosplayer' and started complimenting them.

"Hey! You know that's a really good cosplay! It's almost like the real deal!"

"Huh? But I am the real Rimuru Tempest—"

"Haha! You're hilarious but fictional characters aren't real, after all they are just from an anime that is just fictional."

You laughed as he said that he was the real Rimuru Tempest, He looked at you like you were crazy until he started speaking again.

"I'm telling you! I am Rimuru Tempest! Look, I'll even transform into my slime form to prove it!"

Your laughter died down as soon he said that he will transform into his slime form.

'That can't be right? All characters are just fictional. He's just crazy...calm down [Name]...'

"I am indeed real, in fact I came here to look for you."

Even tho Ive said all this, i sometimes get shoved into the therapist role to have everyone talk to me about their life problems. I also sometimes tend to overshare about things in my life to literall strangers. So fun.

Likes: Cosplaying, anime, music, VOCALOID, Story and lore heavy games like genshin, collecting rocks, any kind of gemstone, sea shells, manga collecting, reading, laying around in bed, going to conventions.

Dislikes: Spiders and snakes, people cutting in front of me in line, people walking slow in front of me, especially when i need to go somewhere in a hurry. realistic blood and death, Loud noises and sudden bright lights, excess amounts of cheese on pizzas, especially if its just mozzarella, squashes and zucchini (i have a reason) and certain clothing textures touching when i wear them. You and Bokuto are certainly the odd couple at first glance. Where you’re introverted, Bokuto is bouncing around and being an extrovert in every sense of the word.

Okay, since you’re easily annoyed, Dazai might seem like a strange matchup since he’s likely the source of most of your annoyance. But I really do think you’d get along well.

He’s always keeping an eye out for gemstones and sea shells to give you. He knows you like collecting them and likes being able to add to your collection.

Dazai would love going to conventions with you! He thinks they’re great fun and they take his mind off his suicidal tendencies for a while.

You and Kaveh are an unstoppable sarcasm duo. No one can stand in your way and Alhaitham is so tired of your combined antics.

It’s a good thing you’re the therapist friend because Kaveh needs a comforting presence in his life. He’s also more than happy to lend an ear if and when you need to get stuff off your chest as well.

He loves that you like collecting things. He’ll design rotating shelves and cabinets for you to house your collections in.

He’s an interesting balance of a slow walker and a fast walker. When he’s by himself, he’ll usually take it slow and admire his surroundings. But when he’s with someone, he’ll walk faster.

Well, the anime convention I regularly go to has moved from its normal October slot to December instead, due to a change in hosting venue. This means I have until mid-June to make a solid decision so that I can work on a cosplay (or two?).

My top three possibilities at the moment are Jack Skellington (because it’s a December con), Shadow the Hedgehog, and Senshi from Delicious in Dungeon/Dungeon Meshi.

Jack: Will be done like my Mommy Long Legs cosplay (shown), where I am not actually wearing a costume, I am more like a puppeteer. I plan for Jack to be two, maybe three feet taller than me. Normally for the ‘puppet’ type cosplays I cover myself head to toe in black to make myself less visible, but in this case, that’d blend in with Jack’s clothes. White is not much better, due to his hands and stripes. How about a greenscreen suit as a kind of joke? Additionally, if I do this right, the puppet might be relatively cheap and also able to be broken down. Meaning I may have the money and transportation space for…for the first time…a second costume. We’ll see.

Shadow the Hedgehog: Will be done in the style of my Aggretsuko cosplay (shown), where I try to preserve the proportions by making a huge-ass head that my real arms fold inside of, and fake arms are built instead. His head would be uh…very big thanks to his head spines and how they flare out. Maybe too big? I have a hatchback but it’s on the smaller side. For space reasons alone, this is my least likely choice.

Senshi: Would require me to make a ‘muscle suit’, since my own body proportions just lack his awesome beefiness, especially after the surgery. Also a fake face, for the usual reason, but also because look at that face. Look at it. I have to build that. There’s no choice. I have never built a muscle suit before. First time for everything, I guess. Will by far be the hottest costume as a result.

Feel free to make suggestions for other cosplays, I’m open to ideas until mid-June. There are some rules though.

It has to hide my face. I have a personality disorder and if people are going to pay attention to me, I have to be hidden so that I’m not forced to interact beyond a wave or something. 

It has to be something people will recognize. I do not want to be some background character from an obscure 90s anime that was never released outside Japan.

It has to be within my abilities to actually pull off. Just ask if I have any specific skills needed for a particular idea! I’ll let you know.

Rockman EXE Movie Review. Part 1

Oh yeah! The people have spoken! The Megaman Battle Network Legacy collection is finally here! So to celebrate it I’m “Reviewing” the Rockman.EXE movie, The program of Light and Darkness.

A few things before starting. First, the “movie” is less than 50 minutes long, so it’s more of a very long episode with better animation than usual. Second, the movie takes place during the Stream saga, a season of the anime that never aired in America because the plot was “too dark” for a kid’s show, like Axess wasn’t violent and dark enough already. It’s even worse for people in Latinoamerica because Axess never aired there either, so enjoying this movie would’ve been impossible for me if I hadn’t watched the episodes online.

For those who haven’t watched the Stream saga, this is what you need to know:

1. The movie takes place somewhere after episode 17 but before episode 31 of Stream, I say episode 17 because Raika, the Hypocrite, now uses Cross fusion, just like everybody else.

2. The plot is based on Battle Network 5, minus the whole teams thing.

3. The whole story of Rockman.EXE Stream is not relevant, except for episode 2 because that is when Forte came back to steal Rockman’s Ultimate program, but after he fails to get it, he was defeated by an extraterrestrial Navi named Slur who throws him into the depths of the Undernet, where the movie begins.

Forte is shown floating in the cyberspace of the Undernet where he is woken up by strange light and a familiar evil laugh.

Those who played BN5 know what that thing is.

We cut to England, which is probably called Kingland, where a giant beam of light suddenly appears and disintegrates everything in it’s path.

Leaving behind a very ugly but also familiar face.

Meanwhile, somewhere in Japan, our heroes are in a Net Battle tournament taking place in a very weird building with roller coasters coming in and out of it.

Seems very dangerous to be honest.

Of course, as Netto plugs in Rockman, we get the theme song Be somewhere, with the karaoke, timing, and Spanish translations provided by yours truly.

Yep, I was the head of this project, sure, I didn’t get paid and other people helped made this possible, but I’m still proud of this. Too bad not many people have access to this.

During the intro song we see Rockman fighting Gridman’s aka Footman’s first appearance in the anime, before becoming some random Navi in Beast. And in case you were wondering, no, Meijin is not Footman’s operator, it is actually this guy.

The guy who just gives hints in BN3 white version.

I think he is Mr. Famous’s aide, but I don’t remember.

Anyway, Netto wins, his friends, with new changes of cloths, congratulate him, and Meiru appears out of nowhere to hug him like she was already his girlfriend or something.

I personally don’t like this art style, it makes Dekao look even uglier and Meiru looks like she has less hair than usual.

Now, a surprise for those who haven’t  seen Stream, Dingo and Tomahawkman are now part of the cast! And Dingo for some reason has blue eyes in this shot.

I honestly don’t know why.

After Dingo wins his battle, we see more of the weird and unsafe building where they are with the indoor rollercoaster and all. Apparently this is Akihara’s 100th theme park.

We get a small appearance from Shuko and Higure-san who are riding the roller coaster, but its more of a segway to the next scene because Higure somehow spots Mariko-sensei while screaming. Like, how? Mariko-sensei was wearing a helmet until Netto and friends arrived. Turns out, she is cosplaying as her favorite Sci-fi character in a convention that also takes place in the weird building.

But she only appears for Netto and friends to mention that she has a lot of hobbies, and to have this very weird cut to the next scene that made me think it was an editing mistake.

Seriously, she didn’t even finish her line.

We immediately jump to a not so traumatizing scene of a group of men getting vaporized by the same light beams we saw in Kingland.

NOT TRAUMATIZING AT ALL! 

Turns out this was in Ameroupe as we join Meijin and Yuichiro watching footage of the damage.

Yuichiro seems to know something and after seeing a satellite image, his suspicions are confirmed.

The Internet service that is NOT all about you.

The light beams left what looks like giant algorithms, this is enough for Yuichiro to say some vague words, first “Spectrum”, and then “The Wily Program is active”.

HELLO? Why did we cut to a Duel Master scene?!

Oh, right, turns out the people who worked on this movie also worked on the Duel Master movie which was still a thing back then. That is why they made a little animation at the beginning of the movie were we see Crossfused Netto and Shobu working together to fight their respective opponents. They also put like 3 second cameos in both movies to let us know that both the Net Battle and the DM tournament are happening in the same weird building. 

For this movie, it’s a clip of Shobu summoning a monster or something, and for the DM movie we get an actual shot of Netto and friends cheering for Shobu in the audience.

It’s not even the same art style, or background! At least Meiru still has her hair intact.

In that movie they actually say Shobu’s name, in this one they just play the clip and then cut to Netto and friends reacting to something. Personally, I never cared for DM, I watched one episode and that’s it, I always saw it as a Yugioh bootleg.

The cameo is interrupted by Yuichiro who calls Netto to tell him that he must get to the Trident Tower ASAP, with no details whatsoever. Netto says bye to his friends and wishes them luck for their upcoming battle

Apparently some time passed after Netto leaves for the tower, because in the very next scene we cut to Yuichiro typing really fast in a computer (still not giving Meijin details as they watch the light beams appearing in Choina), and then asking if Netto is already at the tower.

LOL, he is stuck in traffic.

Although it is nice to see taxi drivers still have jobs in this future. At least the paying method is accurate.

Netto decides to skate all the way to the tower. I like this scene, its been a while since we’ve seen Rockman giving Netto directions from inside the PET and Netto showing off his sweet skating moves.

Will Netto  make it to the tower in time? Will Yuichiro finally tell us what’s going on? And will Meiru’s hair ever grow back? Stay tuned for part 2.

genuinely what is trigun

my biggest current hyperfixation, its like two and half mangas/two animes/a movie

it started as just the manga "Trigun", then was adapted into the 1998 anime, then the manga CONTINUED in the form of "Trigun Maximum" which has 14 volumes plus a little addon anthology book called "Multiple Bullets" (but I don't know much about it specifically). im on volume 11 and it is KILLING ME [positive]!! there was a movie, Badlands Rumble, in 2010, most people have kinda mixed feelings about it cause the characterization is questionable but I still like it. the latest rendition of it is Trigun Stampede, made by the same studio that made Beastars. you might also hear about "trigun omnibus"-- thats just a reprint of the manga condensed into 7 books instead of 14. Trigun Stampede was the first one I watched and its my personal favorite but I love all versions of it truly madly deeply. it's my absolute favorite kind of story: the kind that slow boils you like a frog, gradually getting more and more difficult to explain as it goes on, but that also makes it more and more difficult to get more people into it

the main character, Vash The Stampede, is a wanted gunman with a varying amount of money on his head depending on the rendition / point in time but usually 60 billion double dollars, except hes actually a pacifist who avoids violence if he can and refuses to kill. his designs vary between renditions (I think he wears like 7 different coats in the manga?) but generally, blonde spiky hair, orange glasses, prosthetic arm, red coat. trigun stampede is the most different design from the previous renditions, a lot simpler mostly (except for his arm, bane of many fanartists though I honestly really like drawing it) but basically hes my biggest blorbo I both love him and want to be him. people call him a twink but hes not hes built like a brick shithouse under the coat

hes usually accompanied by Wolfwood, religious trauma personified whos hard to describe because his personality varies the most between renditions-- though his design is pretty consistent across the board, wears a suit and carries a big wrapped-up cross thats actually a gun called "The Punisher". he's usually a priest, but in Stampede he's an undertaker. also before I knew what Trigun was when I saw people at a convention cosplaying him I thought he was a supernatural character

and Meryl and Milly (though Milly isn't in Trigun Stampede yet), who in most renditions are insurance agents assigned to follow Vash but then get attached to him like the sad pathetic wet cat he is

then theres Vash's fuckass twin brother who I hate, Millions Knives, edgelord supreme that, depending on the version, I either couldnt care less about or just flat out dislike. I'd probably see his appeal more if I didn't have sibling trauma but a lot of people are capital f Freaks about him and Vash's relationship the fandom has an incest ship problem worse than Homestuck its fucking dire out here and thats one of the contributing reasons I do not like him. its kindof hard to explain his motivations without spoiling pretty much the whole plot but hes the main antagonist of the story and basically just. a grown ass man consistently and obsessively trying to get his brother to side with him even though he wants to Kill and Vash does Not

theres a bunch more characters but ive already been typing for an hour about this and if I dont quit while im ahead ill be here all night and forget to eat. I will frantically half-explain Trigun to anyone who will listen because im DESPERATE to get more people into it without spoiling too much right out the gate (though usually I get way too ahead of myself and end up spoiling it anyway). my trigun hyperfixation probably borders on unhealthy but fuck it we ball

Yeah I wanna go back to old fandom. Where people shipped things like Sebaciel or the twins from OHSHC proudly without having the fear of being doxxed. Or the 30 year old congoers with Madoka Magica body pillows. Like no one cared back then because we knew it's all fictional anime girls. Nowadays you see people holding up signs like "Lolicons are pedophiles" (ok I personally see this at a con but I did see a video a few years back that was making the rounds where a woman was holding up a sign similar at a convention). Like there was once someone cosplaying a loli. The cosplayer (who was of age) drank alcohol and people threw the biggest fucking tantrums because "You're cosplaying a 5 year old. Why are you drinking?" Bitch??? Someone cosplaying a loli does not make them a loli?? Like what? I've seen 30 year olds with thick beards cosplay Misaka Mikoto from Railgun or Anya from Spy x Family. Like it literally is not that deep. We're all just here to have fun and forget about our troubles for a bit. It's so toxic that people resort to harassing cosplayers. I even saw a take today that was like kind of defending(???) the person that harassed Val cosplayer. I'll post the screenshots below because I don't remember exactly what they said.

Like??? Like this is victim blaming at its finest. "You cosplayed a rapist when there are so many cooler characters to cosplay." So it's the...cosplayer's fault they were harassed? It sounds exactly like people who say "Well what were they wearing when they were raped?"

How did you get into the furry fandom? Favorite Na'vi phrases?

I guess that depends on how you define being in the fandom. My introduction to internet fandom culture in general was through Balto when I was around, hmmm, 9 or 10 I think? Which, naturally, the Balto fandom was very closely intertwined with the larger furry fandom. At the time I wasn't familiar with the term furry but I was familiar with the concept of fursonas and colorful animal OCs, which like many artsy online preteens I churned out like a factory lol. I've had a fursona since like 5th grade. In that sense, you could say I've been a furry in all but name for over half my life (I'm currently 26).

As far as being intentionally involved with the furry "community", that didn't happen until college, when I discovered a few fursuiters on YouTube and thought, wow, that looks like a heck ton of fun, I want in! I had already somewhat dabbled in cosplay and been to an anime con before, so as someone who'd also had a lifelong interest in animal cartoons, fursuiting and furcons seemed like a pretty natural step lol. So I looked into possibly conventions, found that there was one that would be happening just an hour or so away from my apartment not too long from then, poured myself into making my first fursuit, and went.

I wound up having a blast and have returned to that con every year since! And since 2017 was AWU's inaugural year that means I've been attending that particular con from its very beginning and have been able to watch it grow and get better and better year after year, which has been pretty darn cool. :) It's gone from ~600 attendees in 2017 (first picture) to nearly 1,500 in 2022 (second)!

...as for Na'vi phrases...I'm not sure if I really have any particular favorite? I do remember, when I first started learning, being rather tickled by eltu si. The meaning of this phrase is basically "pay attention/stop goofing off", but the literal translation is closer to something along the lines of "do brain!!"

Similarly, if you want to say that something is interesting you would use the phrase eltur tìtxen si "awakens the brain", which is kinda fun.

As long as we're talking about phrases using eltu: the Na'vi language obviously wouldn't have words for human technologies like vehicles and computers and such, but since it is used by human fans we naturally wanted ways to express such concepts with each other, so had to describe them by combining other words; a common one used in these combinations is lefngap metallic. For example:

eltu lefngap - computer (metallic brain) pa'li lefngap - car (metallic horse) ikran lefngap - airplane (metallic banshee)

Also, Na'vi in the context of the films is an exclusively spoken language; canonically the Na'vi people have no form of writing. The word we use for writing, therefore, is actually also a compound: pamrel, literally meaning "sound picture". Which is interesting! I mostly mention this one because I actually didn't even realize it was a compound until just recently lol

I am also mildly amused by the idiom keynven sìn ketse--literally "steps on tails"--to describe someone who's socially awkward :')

Eddie's dad crossed his hands over his chest. He had paid good money for his son to go to this Metrocon nerd convention. In return, Ed had proved he'd be responsible there, driving himself so he wouldn't get drunk. He said he'd pay for his parking and "costume," even coordinated a group event with his friends.

Ed had shown his father a drawing of what he'd hope to accomplish; an image of several young people with bright hair and futuristic outfits. The characters were from an anime called Vocaloid, though in googling it, his father had only found its soundtrack. There were three men present in the image: a samurai, a man with a long blue scarf, and a boy. Eddie's father had already seen a different friend dressed up as the child, so he had assumed Ed was going for the samurai. His hair was sure long enough.

But instead, Eddie was wearing a shiny teal wig tied up into pigtails. With the addition of the thigh highs and mini skirt, he looked like a techno porn star.

Eddie flushed. "I am a Vocaloid, Dad," he said pulling out his phone. "I'm Miku, see?" The picture Eddie had once shown his father did indeed contain this girl.

Despite this, his father was unconvinced. "Ed, I'm not letting you be a drag queen. You're sixteen."

"I'm not a drag queen." Eddie crossed his arms over his chest. He was wearing some sort of fake breasts under his shirt.

"Stripper, then?" His father offered. "You're underage. You'll get arrested."

"Dad." Eddie couldn't help but laugh. "It's not stripping! It's Metrocon! It's cosplay!"

"Uh huh."

"It's not sexual, see?" Eddie pulled out images of a past Metrocon from Google Images. There were several pictures of men in dresses. Some were posed provocatively, but there were just as many who looked just like his son. Just skinny nerds, being weird in public.

"Besides, Dad," said Eddie, "Chelsea's going as Len! She's dressed as a boy!"

Eddie smiled, sheepish and pleading. His father pinched the bridge of his nose.

"Okay, fine." His father relented. "But bring your mother's pepper spray. It's in the garage. And be home by midnight!"

I'm back home from Dragon Con! Very exhausted but happy. I'm looking forward to not having to wear heels, a wig cap, and wig tape/glue for a little while.

That said, I'm still on hiatus until Saturday, September 9. I have a few replies that I received right before I left for con and during con, so I will need this week to reply and queue them all. If you're currently working on replies to me, I'd love it if you could hold them until the weekend when I'll have some more time to reply and plot if needed with you. What I've currently got on my to-write list will likely be all I can handle this week between post-con exhaustion and a busy week at work.

And a small munday thing...

If you're a fan of anything besides anime/manga/video games (though they do have a presence there, but much smaller than an anime convention) and like conventions, elaborate cosplay, parties, and a fandom almost all of its own, I can't recommend visiting Dragon Con enough. There is so much to see and do, and there's really no other convention experience like it (and if you feel very old attending anime cons, attend Dragon Con and feel young again! 30-somethings are about the median age).

Case in point: there's a big following around ribbon trading/sharing (you put them on your con badge) and swag and seek (people bring various small, free gifts and hide them throughout the hotels for others to find!). This was my first year with ribbons, and some of what I collected throughout the weekend. I had to add some to the sides of my badge because it was getting so long!

All in all, definitely coming back next year. Now I get around two months until my next anime convention. I'm not doing too many new outfits this time around, but I'm finally getting a professional photoshoot of one of my Sonia costumes done, so she needs to be fixed up a bit.
