honestly i think cc disaster twins make me so emo because leo is angsting about shit donnie dont CAREEE about like it's very funny and a little sad. leo is so focused on wanting to rip the stars out of the sky for him that he doesn't realize donnie doesn't want anything more than a hand to hold. leo's experiencing what it was like to aim for something he knew he was unreachable. he's learning the futility of blind, stupid tenacity. donnie's already gone through it all. the last thing he wants is leo to run himself ragged trying to give him everything.

donnie only remembers what it was like to be held. that's all he needs now, but leo is so convinced it isn't enough. and knowing what we know about ninpo, in a more metaphorical sense it is.
