maybe this is just us but. as a system of color. we don't think it's inherently appropriative to use names from different cultures. obviously there ARE ppl who do it disrespectfully or disregard the importance of names in cultures and stuff but it's always felt weird to see white systems especially say u can't use any names from different cultures ever
#like weve seen white ppl say its racist for white ppl to have chinese names when theyre like. in china.#in our experience. ppl in other countries will just give u a name in their language. at least that seems common w our chinese family#its chill. its not inherently appropiative#tberes a difference between a yt person giving themself a japanese name and a system member using their source name#bc going to be honest. a lot of the time u will not even know someones a system.#like a headmates name... isnt the same thing as the name a person goes by w the body. u know?#like. headmates can and often are different ethnicities/from different cultures than the body. its ok#as long as u acknowledge the body's experiences and not claim experiences u dont have#its not a big deal for anheadmate to have a cultural name u arent connected to#also understand ppl being uncomfortable w that#but like. were uncomfortable w white ppl wearing qipaos. but generally think they can + can do it respectfully#idk. just sort of complicated but also it feels weird to see white ppl saying like any interaction w different cultures is appropriative#hàorán.txt
