debating whether or not sam would watch this show kinda inclined to say yes tbh
#like it's def outside of the realm of what i think sam usually watches#but the fact that show's main lead nadia vulvokov is jewish and does touch on generational trauma#specifically the kind dealing w mothers/daughters w a 'i am my mother's child' type vibe#also a jewish film theorist youtuber that i like ladyknightthebrave did a rlly good video essay covering s1 of the show#and touched on the fact that she liked the fact that compared to other media featuring jewish characters#this show does a nice job w the way it chooses to incorporate aspects of judaism into#and the fact that show mostly centers on women but it does so in way that's refreshing and realistic#and not in a 'omg girl power hashtag strong female characters' type vibe that alot of other media ft women tends to rely on#it's worth noting that the creator herself natasha lyonne is jewish as well#specifically the way that nadia herself is written to be both defined by her history and culture but simultaneously is defiant of it#i think would resonate w sam in some ways#robi rambles
