my absolute favourite genre of book is low fantasy slice of life perhaps with some comedy and lovable characters sprinkled in
#and i am desperate for adult fantasy that isnt about war and assassins and crimes and death and high stakes#i wish i liked terry pratchett's prose but alas#it's too uhhh koukeroinen for me. sorry about the finnish#naomi novik and erin morgenstern and diana wynne jones get it#each of them pretty different tonally and not exactly the genre im yearning for but otherwise#OH and t kingfisher for sure#chat tag#books#in other lands fits this pretty well too except its not technically low fantasy i think#coming of age stuff is lovely too!!#how could i forget tj klune
