Jewel Racasa - Week 4

Screenplay

It has been quite stressful but I spent a lot of time trying to rework the dialogue and sequence of events in Act 1 of the screenplay. I changed the dialogue and actions to allow for Palabok to tell us about herself more as well as have her as the more active character leading the story. In the last screenplay (v6) Turon was the one who lets us know of Palabok's financial situation and pushes her to take on the quest to buy a new cloak. In this new version, I tried to put a more clear and obvious stake as well as motivation for Palabok.

Changes made:

The flyer is described and visible a lot sooner

The soda does spill onto her cloak now

Palabok asks Turon for money

Palabok's states she wants to replace her cloak due to it being old and tattered

Motivation changed from just wanting the new cloak to the new cloak being the last one in stock, which hopefully helps with showcasing what's at stake in this story

Minor dialogue edits/changes during Act 2

In Act 3, to keep on the plot of it being the last cloak, Palabok rushes back to the display window in order to see if it's still there

Added more scene headings to indicate changes in scenes/environments/time

Crew Call Pitch

This past Monday and Tuesday (Feb 7-8), we pitched our film to Laura's 216 (Intro to 2D Animation) and 314 (Experimental Animation) classes in order to find more people to join our crew. The pitches went pretty well and we got a pretty good response. We had about 6 people join our crew since then! Our film also got a lot of positive responses from the students, and they seemed really excited about the film, which was really reassuring. I believe we have updated the budget and contact lists to reflect the change in crew. I look forward to working with everyone!! :D

Crowdfunding

I've been working on figuring out and making demos of the Puto plush we have decided to do for our $250 tier aka the Puto tier. I've been testing different designs, fabrics, workflows, etc. I sewed them all by hand and with a lot of scrap materials I have lying around at the moment so they're not quite accurate to what the actual product will be like just yet. I still want to do 2 more tests now that I have figured out the overall design and shape it'll be. I just need to finalize the fabric material as well as test it out with yellow button eyes.

This is the temporary image I used for the Indiegogo page. This is version is the overall shape and design I want for the final product.

I also worked on a graph for the budget summary.

The last thing I did for the Indiegogo page was name the different perk tiers. The first five are the main elements that makeup Palabok as well as Puto for the puto plush tier and Banana Lumpia for the highest tier. I also added little food puns and quotes at the beginning of the perk descriptions Sarina made.

I'm hoping to get the campaign video done by this weekend at the latest.
