When Red Velvet was a child, his cake arm was often difficult to control. It seemed to have a mind of its own and instinctively acted on pure, raw emotions — without him wanting it to. When he had to fight to protect himself and felt certain emotions like fear, it especially caused problems; the cake arm would go on a rampage to put an end to any threats near him, and it didn't discern friend from foe. It attacked anyone that got near him, even when he was trying so desperately to regain control of his arm again, but… even he wasn't safe from getting hurt in the process. He had been such a frightful child, too, obviously having PTSD from what he witnessed that night…

Despite how much he would struggle, Red Velvet put himself through a lot of training to get where he's at today, and such incidents don't happen anymore. He has an incredible amount of self-discipline and strength of will, honestly.

Red Velvet Cookie has to train / teach all the cakes NOT to accept any of Poison Mushroom Cookie's shroomies as treats. A very, very important part of the training regimen.
