Hi can i ask a scenario wherein how would the sakamaki brothers react to a guy asking yui for a date and she says yes *bcs a sakamaki × yui were having an arguement*.

The person she dared to even accept is dead.

It’s not meant to be funny but I can’t help it !!! You know what they are and what they can do. 🙃🙃

Okay but maybe I’m being to quick to assume, it could be plausible it’s anything but death… for some! Let’s see how this plays out cuz idon even know yet

Reminder: The boys (+ Mukami bros) are cute ngl and have moments of genuine affection and adoration toward reader (not really Yui! Reader — same difference tho) but they are very deadly, and that’s what I based this post off. Actually, it’s what I base all my dialovers posts off.

I didn’t want to not do the post cause the ask was really good! Some are longer than others, I got way ahead of myself. Subaru is kinda shorter cuz it’s hard to write him :/

Yui! Reader dating anyone but a Sakamki brother

Shu Sakamaki

You were a nuisance. A tiny, insignificant spec inside his world all because of that man couldn’t stop scheming. The existence of you has caused so much trouble—so many anomalies—he lost count after a while.

A human girl who couldn’t leave well enough alone. One that couldn’t obey, know right from wrong despite knowing all the facts and yet still being clueless. You made his life very difficult. He proved it to you time and time again.

Yet here he was, very out of character as he stood over your broken body. The feeling from earlier upon hearing the rumor of you leaving for someone else only now left his body. He felt like he wasn’t in control of his body during what he was doing to you.

He felt every emotion under the sun screaming at him loudly, blocking the noise of his music through his headphone. It was infuriating; he just wanted to relax. Do nothing and relax… Not break your fucking legs.

But what’s done is done.

He no longer felt this unwelcome discomfort in his chest when he saw you standing near another. It wasn’t him then. He was someone else, someone mad, someone crazy infatuated.

Shu has never been one to like someone.

So where did he fuck up?

Why did he fuck up?

He was always calm, calculated. The man he was today was driven by pure rage. Your screams in agony were music to his ears, better than any of the songs he enjoyed. Your pain, your scrunched up face and screaming, it was because of him. All because of his touch.

That thought alone satisfied him as he came down from his high, expression back to its blank slate, unreadable. He scuffs as your sound turns to whimpers and at your weak attempts to crawl away. It was almost cute… almost.

Bending down, he grips one of you legs causing a whale to leave you. Your hand instantly goes to his arm to stop him. He shakes it off him effortlessly, starring intensely at your face as he yanks you to him, you are now face to face.

With a tilt of his head, he smirks, “This is your mistake. For meddling in my life… take responsibility as I drain you of everything.” He grabs your hair, yanking back your head, “The only thought in your head should be giving yourself to me.” he finishes with the sinking of his teeth in your throat.

Reiji Sakamaki

Honestly, he thought he kneeded you into the perfect pet. At this point you should know better. His teachings should have gotten you into shape, but here you are once again being disobedient. Oh, how he detested that part of you. This hurts you more than him.. perhaps you like it?

Without missing a beat, when you arrive home he calls you to his office. This insolence has to be put to rest. You have soiled his family name, much less his pride though he would never tell.

This rumor, even though it was just that, was disgraceful. And it spread, reaching his ears. As if you would be with the trash that litter these halls. Who did they think they were compared to him. They were nothing, that’s what. You knew this. So why would you think it was okay?

Yes, it brings him great satisfaction when he saw you close in on yourself under his gaze, body trembling in fear. At least your body knows his touch, your mind still seemed to show some resistance. No worries, Reiji considers himself a excellent teacher. He was never one to give up, no matter the challenge.

“I don’t wanna hear your excuses…” he starts, getting up from his seat. On his way over to you, he grabs a cup filled with liquid and stands in front of you, pushing it towards you, “Drink this.”

Scared, you shake your head already knowing it’s something bad. You remember the last time he gave you something, the nightmares are everlasting.

Reiji inhales deeply, frowning down at you, “Drink it or I’ll shove it down your throat. I’ll be anything but gentle.” Again he pushes it to you, this time settling it in your hands after his threat weighed heavy in the air.

Cautiously you take a sip, tasting a honey dew hibiscus blend before swallowing the rest. You hand him the empty cup after, noticing no effect. It confused you, was that simply tea?

You’re question was answered shortly after when your eyes felt heavy and your body light as air. You stumbled into Reiji’s arms loosely, looking at him through blurry vision. The last thing you see is him smiling.

…

When you came to, you found you were strapped to a chair, in what looked to be the dungeon. How could you forget? You had the worst happen to you here, a shiver travels down your spine when you think about it.

“You’re up.” Reiji, a voice you’ll never forget, spoke behind you. You tried to turn to see him, but it was difficult. He chuckles are you attempt, walking around you to face you. Your eyes immediately notice a cloth bag in his gloved hands, the bottom cut open.

“What’s that for?” You squeeze out, heartbeat picking up.

“A lesson.” was all he said when he forces it over your head till it hang around your neck. He pulls away to walk around you again, making noise behind you. Then you heard a squeak. Your breath stills.

Please tell me that’s not a—

Reiji comes back into view, holding a rat in front of your face. It was mid size, black and ugly. You were going to cry, already feel the tears pool at your eyes.

“Reiji, please!” You shake your head, thrashing around in the chair.

He clicks his tongue, “Bad girls get punished.” He holds the bag in one hand and the rat in the holder. Inch by inch the rat gets closer to your face, thrashing in Reiji hand not liking the harsh treatment just like you.

A scream rips from your throat when he drops it on your head and quickly ties the bag.

You had to learn your place one way or another.

Ayato Sakamaki

Ayato had to have heard wrong because there was no fucking way that you chose someone other then him. Especially knowing that you were his and his alone. This rumor had to be just that, false information spreading around the school.

He knew he didn’t have anything to worry about, it was him for crying out loud. No one can compete… but he still needed to hear how wrong everyone was from the source.

He found you easily in the girls bathroom, locking the door to avoid any interruptions. It was a miracle he was thinking clearly, usually it was so unlike him. And that’s why it was scary.

His stare was intense and focused, it made you squirm under the heat of it. He taunts you with slow forward steps, making you take steps back until your back was flush against one of the walls. He caged you in between his arms immediately, decreasing your chances to escape. As if you had any to begin with..

“Ore-sama’s been hearing some things he shouldn’t, Chichinashi.” He begin, his left hand sliding down to grip one of your shoulder, “It’s not true right? You wouldn’t dare go against Ore-sama?”

“A-Ayato.” Your mouth felt dry all of a sudden. You knew what he was talking about. After having a disagreement once again between you both, you foolishly accepted a date with another. You thought it would come to nothing, little did you know that the person would spread the news like a wild fire.

His grip tightens, nails digging through your uniform into your skin, drawing blood from you. The smell was intoxicating as always to Ayato, but he was to busy seething inside to notice completely.

“It was a mistake! I didn’t mean it, I was upset. Forgive me.” You plea body trembling in both pain and fear.

A scowl stretches onto his face, his hand long left your shoulder the minute those words left your lips. Instead, they wrap around your throat, tightening as he processes your words. It came to the point, you were clawing at his hand, letting out choked gasps.

Ayato couldn’t think straight. All he can think about is you being with someone that’s not him. How dare you? Ayato should be your whole world, your first thought when you wake up and your last thought when you sleep. You should feel suffocated by his presence, otherwise he wasn’t doing his job.

Slowly he loosens his hold on you, leaving you chugging down air desperately. A few minutes pass before you glance at him, body going still when you see the huge sinister grin on his face.

“Ore-sama’s just gonna have to remind you who you belong to,” he suddenly grabs your hair and throws you on top of the faucets counter, “No matter how long it takes, everyone will know you belong to Ore-sama.” He finishes before sinking his sharp teeth into your neck with purpose.

Kanato Sakamaki

If it was any normal person, they would be heart broken and move on. But Kanato was anything but normal.

First he lets you get away with talking back to him in your argument yesterday, chosen to forgive you after you reluctantly make him snacks and now.. you had the audacity to cheat on him.

You filthy, untrustworthy mortal.

He was aware all woman were the same. Hell, he constantly reminded him despite the kind attention you gave him. He always assumed your kindness had ulterior motives. Why else would someone be kind to him? He knew he was a handful. He just didn’t care.

Now it was clear how you felt about him, there was no hiding it. There was no hiding from him. This time, you actions are unforgivable. You thought you can toy with his feelings… You’ll pay in the worst way.

When he invited you to his room, you didn’t think much of it. Somehow you were completely oblivious to the news spread throughout the school. In fact, the situation with the date was so far in the back of your head, you have forgotten it had happened. You were just upset in the moment. It was never more than just a sway of words.

That’s why after entering his room to see the person who asked lying lifeless in a pool of blood a few feet away from Kanato, were you shocked. Just a few hours ago, he was alive. Guilt quickly creeped up on you but it was shortly lived when Kanato called for your attention.

“So glad you’re here. Good to know you’re still a little obedient,” he smiles but it doesn’t reach his eyes. He points to the dead on his floor, “Remember them?” he laughs, “Of course they do! Right teddy?” he turns to the bear in his hand.

You remain still, time ticking like a bomb about to go off. Which in all honestly it could, Kanato was unpredictable and if he found out about that and this was the outcome, imagine what he would do to you.

How do you get out of this situation?

“Look at her, teddy. She’s planning something… whatever it is won’t work. No. I don’t like it.” he shakes his head, “I’d much rather your expression be twisted in pain than whatever this is…” he walks towards you, face twisting from one emotion to another before settling into a deep frown. He stops a feet away from you, your back against the door before she even realizes it.

“I do enjoy your terrified expression too, it’s adorable.” he mumbles. It felt like time froze with how long you both been staring at each other. Kanato hold on his bear tights as he stares numbly at you. It was too much, you had to say something.

“Kanato—“ your voice trails off because in a split second, a knife was lunged into your abdomen. It hurt so much, it pulsed with heat. Your mind couldn’t wrap around what was happening. Gripping the arm it was attached to, you looked the culprit in his crazed eyes, “Kan-ato..”

He sneered twisting it harshly, “Did you think you can get away with using me?! I told you I’d break you. Down to your last breath.” he yanks it out, watching your body drop to the floor, struggling to inhale.

“You’re lucky you’re pretty enough to be added to my collection,” he bends down to stab you again in your shoulder. He smiles when you haller out in pain, “To stay with me forever… you should be grateful.” he stabs your leg.

“That’s right.. look at me like that.” he repeatedly stabs you over and over until the life drifts from your eyes to nothing, “You’ll never leave me. Will you?”

Laito Sakamaki

What was this? Is his hearing finally going, has he finally reached that age? No, that can’t be it. So whst exactly was happening?

His little bitch going on a date with some that’s not him? How outrageous. Not possible. He’s the only one who can take you out on sexy rendezvous and risky trips. You liked it better when it was him. He knew that.

So why is it that hearing the rumor stirs something unsettling in him. It tugs at his undead heart and gnaws at his brilliant brain. Before he could do anything, it seeped through the cracks, drowning him.

Every memory with his mother, with every woman he encountered, every person who he thought he loved—who he thought showed him love and every betrayal he assumed or saw came full surface.

It hurt so much. He swore to never feel like this again. And it ate at his mind. If he had a breath to give, it would be ripped right out of him. He didn’t like this. He wasn’t the one in control, he wasn’t the one getting your love. He wasn’t the one playing the game. He felt like the game played… him.

When Laito found you, he all but dragged you to the roof top. A place where terrifying, haunting memories were held. The same ones that kept you on your toes, but failed you every time.

Laito was uncharacteristically quiet, his back turned to you as he stared out into the open planes. It could have been a pleasant sight if you didn’t know what kind of monster he really was.

“Y’know, little bitch.” he starts, taking his hat off to run his free hand through his hair, “There was only one other time I truly loved someone to the point of hate. All the others… they weren’t real.”

Hearing where this conversation was heading, you reach back to grip the handle when a gasp leaves you. No longer were you standing in front of the door, instead Laito has you dangling off the rails of the school on your toes. His right hand was twisted into your uniform shirt, the only thing keeping you from falling.

Quickly, you grab his arm, tears swelling in your eyes as you see the sad expression on his face. It squeezed at you heart, but maybe that was actually the fear of falling.

“Lait-o please!” You lean forward into his touch.

He clicks his tongue, shaking his head at your attempt to sway him. He knew this scene all too well. The first was hard on him, he drowned himself in body after body. No doubt this would be the same. It didn’t bring him the same joy as his usual actions did. This time he truly felt torn.

“Little bitch,” he draws in your attention and you lock eyes, “It doesn’t bring me joy from this. I would have rather spent the rest of our lives together… exploring each other but I can’t tolerate the betrayal.”

It only dawned on you what he was talking about. From the start of this interaction you thought he was being moody but you should have known; play your cards just a little better but it was too late. With a easy unraveling, he lets you go with a gentle push and watches as you descends to the floor.

So many emotions raved through him as he did. He wanted to grab you back and tell you it was a joke. But he stays in place when he hears a loud splat and a pierced scream.

He couldn’t even bring himself to peek before he left. You brought up to many bad memories, how could he forgive you?

Subaru Sakamaki

Subaru really couldn’t stand you. From the moment you entered their home and disrupted his peace. It was always something with you. Always needing saving from someone or something, always needing to be reminded that you were beneath him and everyone in this house.

Yet you seem to not understand it or that you do but you completely throw it to the wind, whatever the reason it pissed him off. All your stupid attempts to get close to him, to try and understand him… to get him to open up.

Then, despite his constant attacks on you, he actually grew some form of attachment. The thought of you sicken him, but the thought of you gone made him mad more. You disgusting, weak human did something to him.

So when he heard the rumor of you agreeing to date someone else. It was like… something broke in him. All his thoughts consumed him, he was a monster. Less than trash. His mother didn’t want him nor his father. Why would you?

He didn’t even like himself sometimes. It’s no surprise the time you have another argument, you agree to date someone else. If he was in your position, he’d run to. Run so far, the chances of anyone catching him was slim to none. But you weren’t that good at running… actually, you couldn’t really run after he caught you.

There was a permanent snarl on his face as he stares down at you. A chained collar secured tightly around your neck, identical to the ones around your wrist. If Subaru wasn’t so aggravated, he could have enjoyed seeing you ruined.

He grips the knife in his left hand, which drips of your blood, “Shut up!” he shouts, listening to your whimpers, “You brought this on yourself. Stupid.. You just don’t learn.”

He moves to crouch in front of you, lifting your head up by the chin, “I told you you’ll die if you stay here.” His left hand raises as he speaks and makes another slash across your skin.

You groan loudly with shut eyes, shaking as he does it again… and again, and again till more and the same wounds bleed profoundly. It was agonizing, with how many hours he’s been at it. It felt like he was never going to lighten up his assaults.

But a miracle shines on you when he pulls away and drops the knife. He stands over you for minutes, chest heaving up and down. You never understood why they pretended to breathe, but you weren’t in the position to question.

There you laid out like a doll. So broken, bruised and bloody. Almost beyond repair. Subaru smiles at that acknowledgment. As much as he was tempted to tear your throat out, the smell of your blood begging him to drain you dry till you were foaming at the mouth; this would have to do.

”I told you… you’ll die.” was the last thing he said before leaving the dungeon, locking it on the way out.

Fuck he hated you.

It seems ridiculous, but I can’t remember the last time I was able to have my own time since I got home.

It seems that on that afternoon, everything in my life changed, and I can’t even say that it was for the better. It’s a really sad thing, but true.

A bit about me. Well… You see I was one of daddy’s experiments. He put his, mama Christa, mama Cordelia, into mama Beatrix and created me. My brothers tell me not to call our father dad. All I hear is “he is worthless” and none of my brothers liked him. Except brother Reiji. Reiji always speaker highly of our father. So I never understood why the others don’t like him.

I sighed. ‘It seems to peaceful’ I thought. Mother Cordelia isn’t yelling for me to do one of my dances from ballet and mama Beatrix hasn’t made me study yet. ‘Oh well’ I thought. I went deeper into our forest and smelled blood. I gasped. It smelt like mama Beatrix! ‘I got to go see’ I thought. I ran and ran till I saw it. Mama Beatrix and Reiji. What you see happen: (m.youtube.com/watch?v=HBEKm7xyFmY) So Reiji killed her?!?! Why?!?! All these feelings rushed through my head as I watched Reiji standing over mama Beatrix body. I looked down and watched my tears hit the ground. When I looked back up I didn’t see Reiji. I was gonna say my goodbyes to mama Beatrix till things went black.

-Time Skip Now In Reiji Room-

I woke up on the couch as I looked around I realized I was in Reiji’s room all the sudden memories of what I saw flooded back. My heart was pounding. I mumbled “why Reiji? Why?” All the sudden I heard Reiji’s stern voice “ it is none of you concern why I did what I did to mine and Shu’s mother.”

“BUT SHE WAS MY MOTHER TO!” I cried out only to get a slap on the face from Reiji as he told me “I DID WHAT I HAD TO! YOU UNGRATEFUL GIRL YOU SHOULD BE THANKING ME!” I looked at him and stood up and ran to my room and cried. As I sat in my room trying to calm down I hear terrorizing screams. It sounded like mama Cordelia! I ran and tried to see what was going on till I ran into Laito. Laito laughed and said “Well well well, what are you doing little macaroon? Shouldn’t you be in bed by now? Hm?” He said with his pervy smile. “I thought I her mommy Cordelia! Is she okay? I smell blood too! We gotta find her Laito!” Laito chuckled and said I was hearing and smelling things and walked me to the piano room and played for me as I fell asleep.

As I was asleep I heard some commotion but couldn’t open my eyes till I heard Laito invite mama Cordelia out on the terrace.

I woke up quickly after I heard scream and Laito looked at me and said “It’s just a bad dream my little macaroon. How about we go to your room?” I nodded as Laito carried me to my room and rubbed my back. Laiti lied me down in bed and said good night and as he was about to walk out the door I squeaked

“Brother Laito?”

”Yes my macaroon?”

”Are is mama Cordelia and mama Christa okay?”

”Why do you wanna know that?”

I started to cry and said “Cause Reiji killed mama Beatrix! Why would he do that!” Laito chuckled and said “OH! My little macaroon don’t you know when you kill another vampire it’s a way of showing just how much you love them?” I was terrified hearing this. “Are you guys gonna kill me?” all the sudden all my brothers appeared in my room and Subaru said “don’t be ridiculous!” Kanato said “Ya! Why would we kill you?” Ayato goes “exactly don’t you know how much you mean to us?” I quickly said “ but you say you love me so does that mean you all are gonna kill me?” Shu appeared next to me and wrapped his arms around me and said “don’t you understand?” I looked at him confused till I hear all my brothers say “You are so precious to us” Reiji said “then for we would not kill you. So you better start listening or punishments will be extreme.” I gulped and nodded.

Kanato said “your right teddy. it’s way passed little cupcakes bed time. she be asleep by now.” They all looked at each other and nodded and tucked me in and the told me the love me. The they all said “we love you our precious rose. Sleep well”

Kauze Story.

Chapter 5: Ren.

As soon as we arrived, I could see that there was some movement outside, and so I quickly looked at Laito, leaning on him and pointing to the window.

— You are famous! — He said in an excited tone. — Hey, if you guys get a teddy bear, can you give it to me? You are already adults and you don't need this!

— Nfu~ Are you already making your demands? Let's just say these girls are all little sluts who want attention.

— Laito. — Reiji said in a serious tone, but I think Laito didn't care about that. — Control your tongue.

I tilted my head in confusion, as I didn't quite understand what he meant, was that a bad thing? I think it's better if I don't say that word, since Reiji doesn't seem to like it very much.

— Relax four eyes, the brat doesn't know what it means.

Ayato laughed, but soon got out of the limousine with the other vampires, I didn't waste time and got out too, and held Reiji's hand, since I didn't really know where to go.

— How cute, I didn't know they had a little brother. — A girl looked at me, and I smiled at her. —Hehe, Reiji seems so protective.

— Reiji! Reiji! She likes you! — he said excitedly, but the girl left quickly after that, I think she was embarrassed. —Hah? Why are girls weird? Do you like her too?

— Kauze, silence. — He bent down to my height, whispering in my ear. — Don't draw anyone's attention and don't tell them who we are. Next time you embarrass me again, I'll leave you locked in the basement. And no, I have no interest in this girl.

— A-Ah.. I'm sorry Reiji... I promise I won't say that you like girls anymore...

— That's not what I meant! — he turned red. — Just don't talk about relationships, you're not old enough for that. Now go somewhere and meet me here when classes are over.

He then let go of my hand and walked in the same direction as the other students, I think he didn't want to be late for class and get scolded by his Sensei.

I entered school, and I walked around aimlessly, in order to find a nice place to spend time, the cool thing was that there were those machines where they sell snacks and sweets, but unfortunately I didn't have any money with me. I stopped in front of one and looked at it, thinking about the flavor that chocolate must have, I'm sure it's good! Since I saw some people eating it.

— Huhhh~ — I closed my eyes imagining myself devouring that chocolate, but as soon as I opened it, I saw a reflection of a man. — Oh!

I moved away from the machine, thinking he wanted something from it, but he came towards me and stared at me, he had a slightly different appearance and a very strange smell too, it was the same smell that some adults had when they blew smoke out of their mouths.

— Hey, you want that chocolate, don't you? — the student asked me, and I nodded in agreement. — Let's do it like this, if you help me I'll give you the chocolate, do we have a deal?

— Help in what? — I said suspiciously. — Won't your sensei get mad if you don't go to class?

— No, of course not! I just missed something and unfortunately I can't get it, but I think you can do it for me, don't you?

I shrugged my shoulders and faced the man again, he had that typical appearance of someone who would always go to the board, but it's better for me to help a bully than be his next victim.

— Alright then, I guess there’s no problem....

Shame on me, selling myself for a chocolate, but I'm sure the Sakamakis wouldn't give me one if I asked them.

— Excellent! My name is Ren.

— My name is Kauze. — I smiled at him.

— Let's go then.

Ren took me to the school garden and we walked a little until we finally arrived at a window, it was a little high, and I quickly looked at it suspiciously.

— I achieved! — he said from the window.

— Excellent! When you hear 3 knocks on the door, open it, ok?

He then ran away and I sighed, I think I should charge more for my "services" I looked around and it seemed to be a private room, like it belonged to the director or something, and that made me even more scared, no It took a long time for me to hear three knocks on the door and I opened it and luckily it was Ren.

— You're a bully, aren't you? — I questioned. — I'm sure that the student who only had a high grade wouldn't be here!

I stuck my tongue out at him, indignant at having helped a student like him, but Ren didn't seem to care that much about it, he just kept messing around with things in the room and I became more anxious, afraid of someone showing up.

— Oh! — He then took a paper and tore it up, I felt my soul leaving and returning from my body! This was so wrong! — What it was? You're paler than usual.

— You ripped it! — said in disbelief. — They'll know we're here!

— They won't, that was a paper that my parents were supposed to sign, but unfortunately he's no longer here and by the time they do another one I'll have made an excuse.

He then continued going through some things and grabbed a small box with some smelly sticks. I quickly placed my hand on my nose and grimaced.

—Ew! It's those businesses that make you smoke out of your mouth!

— They really are, and they're quite expensive by the way, now let's go.

We then ran out of the place, I've never felt so "naughty" I just hope no one finds out what I did! Otherwise I'll stay in Reiji's basement for eternity!

— Hey Kauze, let's get your candys.

He held my hand and led me to the candy machine, and luckily he fulfilled his part of the deal and I finally had several chocolates! I quickly embraced my new "conquest"

— Thank you Ren! I loved!

— Hahaha, now you're not scared anymore, are you? Since I missed the first class because of our mission, I'll stay with you.

— All good! I like being around people. — I smiled and sat at a nearby table, and Ren sat next to me. — I've never had so many sweets!

— No?! How? I saw you arriving with those rich people. — he rolled his eyes. — Tell me, what are you of them?

— Well I... I... — and now? Reiji said I couldn't say anything about vampires, but he also didn't tell me what I should say. — Their father adopted me, that's all.

— How can I deny it after this little adventure we had? You can count on me Kauze, if you need a bully like me to defend you, just call me.

— Same? Do you want to be my friend? In truth?!

I quickly hugged him, nodding quickly in agreement with him, I finally made a friend! I thought this would be really difficult, but I'm glad I met Ren.

— Of course! You are very cool! I never had any friends either, so I think we can learn together, don't you?

— Yes of course.

He returned my hug, I think it was the first hug I had received in a long time, it was so good! I want to make lots of friends to receive lots of hugs every day! But soon he walked away from me, and I was surprised for a moment, and then I turned back and saw Shu.

The results are in!

// Yesterday I posted a poll where you guys could vote on which DL boy you would ship with Sharon and these are the results...

In last place ーー Laito and Kino with 0%

Laito I can understand but honestly I kind of enjoyed the few Sharon and Kino interactions I've had on this blog. 🙈 While Kino would obviously abuse her kindness, I also think their dynamic is kinda cute idk??? Is it just me???

In fifth place are the Tsukinami brothers, Ruki and Kou with 1.6% each.

Sharon has had a few cute interactions with Shin, but I haven't interacted too much with Carla, Ruki or Kou muses. And if Sharon did interact with Kou, it was also under the presumption that she's already dating Subaru.

In fourth place are Reiji and Azusa with 4.7% each.

Reiji is too strict/serious for Sharon imo, but I think she pairs up quite nicely with Azusa? Although I don't necessarily see their relationship as a romantic one, but more so Sharon acting as a caring, older sister.

Third place goes to Yuma and Kanato with 7.8% each.

Okay, I know, I know. Sharon and Kanato look really nice aesthetically since they're both small and like to wear a lot of pastel colors. But let's the real, she would probably not survive very long around Kanato. She might survive a couple of weeks by bribing him with sweets but then it's game over for her lol.

As for Yuma, that's totally my go-to ship for Sharon when it comes to the Mukami's. I absolutely love the farmer boy x foodie girl dynamic. uwu Also the height difference is an added plus!

In second place we have another tie between Shuu and Ayato with 10.9%.

Shuuron was the OG ship of this blog so that one's hardly surprising to me. I think Sharon would be a nice fit for him too with how caring she is. (Also have you seen those thighs? A++ lap pillow material right there)

Ayato is the real shocker. I know he's a boobs guy and Sharon does not lack in the chest department, but I have barely interacted with Ayato muses. I'm honestly not sure if I can see them together but you guys clearly think there's potential. :p

And in first place - by a landslide - we have Subaron reigning supreme with 48.4%

I guess you guys love this ship just as much as I do. uwu While I don't rule out the possibility of shipping Sharon with one of the other boys, or even an OC, my go-to partner for her will always be Subaru.

Even though Reiji-kun told me,

I decided to leave the Castle at night.

ー The scene starts in the forest with Kou running into Kino

Kou: ...Ah...

ー He keeps on walking ahead

Kino: Ah! Hold up!

ー Kino stops him

*Rustle*

Kou: ...Yes? I have no business with you, you know?

Kino: Oh come on, don’t say that. You’re on the way to save Eve, right? I’ll lend you a hand.

Kino: I mean, Eve is incredibly valuable and useful in the current state the Demon World’s in.

All Demons know that she is the one and only woman to ever get approved by the former ruler of the Demon World, Karlheinz.

Similar to your situation in the human world, she is a celebrity in this world.

Just by being her man, the other Demons will automatically assume that you are worthy to reign over the Demon World.

Kou: ...!

Azusa: Then...That would mean that Kou who is in a relationship with her...would be qualified to do so...?

Kino: Hmー... Unfortunately, it doesn’t work that way.

To be qualified, you also need power and authority all at the same time.

In other words, just Eve alone won’t cut it. Power is key here.

Those worthy of being with Eve are Adam or another Demon who fits those criteria.

Seems like she’s in the Vibora King’s room in the very back of the Castle. Why don’t we go take a look from the balcony?

Kino: Excuse me? Are you suspecting me?

Azusa: I mean, you attacked the Sakamaki family, didn’t you...?

Kou: ...It’s fine, Azusa-kun. Let’s trust Kino-kun for now.

Azusa: B-But...

Kou: Don’t worry. I’ve been spending some time with Kino-kun so far and I believe I can tell whether or not he’s lying.

Azusa: ...Okay. I do trust you, Kou...

ー The scene shifts to Zweig’s room

Zweig: Eve, is everything to your liking?

Yui: Y-Yes...I’m good.

( ...I feel kind of uncomfortable. )

( Zweig-san has been very kind to me, but he’s almost being overly friendly to me...? )

( I’ve been stuck here in this room the whole time as well. ...I mean, I guess I can’t really complain about that as a captive. )

Excuse me...Zweig-san, could I go get some fresh air, if possible?

Zweig: Yes, of course. Allow me to join you.

Yui: ( I guess he won’t let me go alone, huh? )

( I still don’t know what happened to Kou-kun or Azusa-kun either... )

( I have to somehow create an opportunity to be alone...! )

U-Uhm...If it’s not too much to ask, could I change clothes before we go outside...?

It won’t take long, so could you perhaps out for a couple minutes?

Zweig: I see. In that case...

*Rustle*

Yui: ...Z-Zweig-san?

( He grabbed my hand...!? )

Zweig: I shall lend you a hand. I believe that will speed up the process.

Yui: N-No. That’s...

( I don’t want this...! )

( Oh no. I have to shake him off somehow... ーー )

ー The scene shifts to Kou and the others spying on them

Kou: ( ...What’s that!? )

( The Vibora King is holding her hand...! )

( I know the plan was to wait and observe until we find an opening but I can’t stand watching thisーー )

Azusa: ーー Kou, you have to be strong now...

Kou: But...

Azusa: Don’t worry. ...Look. Seems like Zweig-san will leave the room by himself...

ー The scene shifts back to Zweig’s room

Yui: ...Haah.

( I somehow got him to leave, but this is simply postponing the inevitable. )

( This does give me an opportunity though. Right now I might be able to sneak ouーー )

*Clunk*

Yui: ーー !?

Eh...? Kou-kun...? And Azusa-kun as well...?

Kou: ーー Yui!

ー Kou runs up to Yui and embraces her

*Rustle*

Kou: I missed you...! I’m so sorry for making you worried...!

Yui: ...I have to apologize too. Still, I’m so glad to see you safe and sound...!

Azusa: ...

Kino: Oiー It’s nice to see you two be so close, but shouldn’t we hurry up and make a run for it or else the other guy will come back?

Kou: Ah, right. My bad...

ー Kou moves away

Yui: ( ...I wonder who this black-haired person is...? )

Hey, Kou-kun? Who is he...?

Kou: Um, he’s called Kino-kun but...It’s a long story so I’ll tell you later!

Anyway, let’s leave this place. Before the King comes back!

Kino: In that case, we should probably run as far away as possible. Nothing good comes from picking a fight with the Vibora Clan.

Kou: Far away, you say...? Do you have a place in mind?

Kino: I guess you could say that. I know the perfect place to hide from the Vibora. Follow me.

Kou: ...Okay.

Yui: ( Eh? Can we really trust him...? )

Azusa: Eve. Let’s follow Kou for now...?

I believe he’ll properly explain everything to us later...

Yui: S-Sure...

Monologue

Having no clue as to what is going on,

the four of us,

left the castle together.

On the way, Azusa-kun and myself,

were informed on who exactly Kino-kun is,

as well why Kou-kun,

is currently working together with him.

What surprised me the most of everything,

was that Kino-kun claims himself to be,

the illegitimate son of Karlheinz-san,

as well as the leader of the group of Ghouls,

who attacked the Sakamaki family.

While I was unable to conceal my surprise,

towards the fact that Kou-kun would associate with someone like that.

I could only assume that there is more to this than what meets the eye.

After all, when I heard about Kino-kun’s past,

I also sensed somewhat of a similarity,

to Kou-kun’s personal situation.

And thenーー...

At the end of our journey,

lied an area called Rotigenberg,

the place which Kino-kun and his Ghoul friends,

call home.

It was a place,

utterly worn-down and dissolute,

with heavily polluted air which would make one sick to their stomach.

We instinctively scrunched up our noses,

at the foul stench of something rotten,

lingering in the air.

Seemingly unbothered by it,

Kino-kun would tell us,

that it is the smell of rotten figs,

before he began to talk about his life here.

ー The scene shifts to the open field at Rotigenberg

Kino: Fufu. Shocked? But you see, this is reality for the Ghouls.

Kou: ...!

Kino: Ghouls are discriminated against by all other Demons after all. They have no other choice but to live here.

I mean, they’re safe here. Other Demons never come here under normal circumstances.

There’s a few empty houses left still, so you can make yourself at home.

Azusa: Then, Kino-san...Is it okay if I move into a different place from these two?

Kino: I don’t mind but, are you sure you wouldn’t rather be together?

Yui: E-Exactly. Why would you...?

Azusa: I mean, the two of you are finally together again...So I wouldn’t want to get in your way.

Kou: Hold up, Azusa-kun! I don’t look at it that way...

Azusa: It’s fine. ...More importantly, Kou. You have to tell Eve about everything which has happened...Okay?

Kou: Ah...Yeah. Thanks, Azusa-kun.

Monologue

Thanks to Azusa-kun’s mindful thinking,

we managed to spend some quality time together,

for a while.

To make up for the lost time,

we would huddle close,

and tell each other about everything we went through while apart.

It was so much fun,

to talk with Kou-kun.

However, at the same time,

my heart aches when I think of the reality which lies ahead of us,

and I realize that this happiness,

is only temporary,

I wonder how Zweig-san will react,

when he finds out that,

I have run away.

And what exactly is the true objective,

of Kino-kun,

who has escorted us here?

And how are Ruki-kun and Yuma-kun,

who are waiting for us back at Eden?

This reality which we cannot avoid,

is standing right behind us.

Yui: ...

Kou: ...What’s wrong? You’ve gone quiet all of a sudden.

Yui: ...Hey, Kou-kun? What will happen to us?

I’m happy we were able to reunite but...I can’t help but worry.

Kou: ...Sorry. I don’t know the answer either.

...But I’m sure it’ll be fine!

ー He embraces her

*Rustle*

Kou: I promise I will never let you go again. No matter what happens, never...

We can overcome any obstacle as long as we’re together. Okay?

Yui: ...Yeah.

( He’s right. )

( Everything will be fine as long as I have faith in Kou-kun. I’m no longer alone after all... )

ARC V MONTH DAY 18 - D/D/D - Different Dimension Day

A kind-of manga-inspired AU (but not rlly? Idrk) Just a lil over 800 words.

A/N: HEADS UP i haven't read all of the manga (literally like only some chapters in, and I forgot reading abt it for a long time. Yeah I should go finish reading that soon… (from what I've heard, excluding that one scene, its good anyway. And it did pique my interest for a bit).

And bc of that, this doesn't take place in any part of the Manga (& only contains some elements from it if ud even count em) so its literally an AU. Also, Yuya & Yuzu aren't here. Let's say they're just sleeping somewhere in their head for this one.

This is kinda inspired by this post & one of @/tetsuya04's (not sure if I should tag u :,)) recent b-girls in the manga art!

Relationships: Light Yuto/Ruri, everything else is platonic (I'm getting bored of writing that lol...)

‘Over there, Ruri,’ a voice whispered into her mind. ‘That's him, right? Or at least the brother of the guy—the one we knew traveled from the past to this timeline, like us.’

‘Yes, Rin. That's him alright,’ Ruri thought back, peering at a certain boy from the corner of the small bar she was in.

‘Oh good, we finally got him,’ another voice whispered within her mind. ‘One of those Sakakis… Quick, we should get that USB from him while he's just sitting there.’

Ruri sighed. Serena, impatient as usual. ‘Yes, yes. I'm going.’

She stepped out of the shadows unnoticed.

‘But Yuri,’ Yuto thought as he drank some chocolate milk. ‘We're doing this for Yuya, remember…? It's for his sake.’

Things have been a bit complicated recently for Yuto and his brothers… And there was the possibility of Yuya knowing the truth and getting caught by Reiji…

Somebody accidentally fell onto him, making him spit some of the chocolate out.

He looked at the floor to see who it was, but he couldn't make out who they were as they sported a midnight blue cloak.

“Ahh, sorry…” The person apologized, kneeling to try and regain themself. By the tone of voice though, he made out that the person was female. “My mind has not been functioning correctly recently… and maybe I had a little too much drinks.”

Yuto smiled at them. “That's alright, ma'am. Do you need help?”

“Oh no, I'm alright. Thank you, though.”

When the person got up, Yuto saw some purple strands of hair spill from the hood of their cloak.

And when the person looked down on him, he was met with the most gorgeous pink eyes he's seen.

Something about them rang a bell in Yuto's heart and mind, almost enough to make him fully remember a memory…

A certain, small memory from a long time ago, one that seemed to be felt with joy and laughter.

It's been a long time since he's recalled something like that that didn't include his brothers.

‘Yuto-nii?’ Yugo called. ‘Why're you frozen? Are you okay?'

‘I'm fine, Yugo.’ “Well then ma'am, suit yourself. Be careful next time.”

“Will do.”

Another chord was struck.

That voice… He hadn't noticed it before, but it was… Familiar.

‘Hey guys… Does that person look familiar to you? And her voice, too?'

‘Well, it certainly made me feel something…’ Yugo mused, his metaphysical self seen only by Yuto and the rest of the brothers observing the woman with wild interest.

‘Yes, I agree with Yugo here. She sure does ring a bell, at least for me, too,’ Yuri agreed. That person sure caught their interest, and in an unusual manner, too.

Yuto decided to try and see who it was. He got up. “Excuse me, ma'am, but can you—’

‘Do you mind me asking about your name?’ Yuri interrupted. ‘Sheesh, know how to be polite, brother.’

“—do you mind me asking about your name?” Yuto quickly corrected, as even if it wasn't necessary, Yuri would continue to insist anyway.

“I do, actually,” she responded, although rather gloomily. “Why'd you want to know my name?”

With the other person, voices raced in her head.

‘Ruri!’

‘Oh come on, there you go again, falling for his charms.’

‘Says the one who keeps teasing her for crushing on him in the first place.’

‘Oh shut up, Rin. And that was years ago.’

‘Girls! Stop it,’ Ruri interfered. ‘I'll try my best… Gee…’

“Just out of curiosity,” Yuto shrugged.

Ruri looked down. “My name…” She paused.

‘Ohhh no…’ Rin said, clearly unamused. ‘Don't—’

“Ruri. Ruri Kurosaki.”

‘Ah, shit. Get ready for the chase.’

That was all it took for Yuto.

Suddenly, it was like a locked chest had suddenly been opened in his mind, causing a plethora of memories to rush their way into his—and his brothers’—brain.

‘What is all this!?’ Yugo exclaimed.

‘Memories, Yugo…’ Yuri clarified, also amazed at the sudden remembering. ‘Memories hidden and abandoned, left to decay and be forgotten because of the mission we set for ourselves to get Yuya out of this mess.’

“Ruri…” Yuto muttered.

If he recalled correctly, he was the sister of a dear old best friend of his, someone named Shun Kurosaki.

And also… His long lost crush. Her… Occasionally, he does think of her and her family… But to see her in person…

“Well, I'm off now,” Ruri nodded, pulling the hood of her cloak to her face, “...Yuto.” She walked to the other side of the bar, where another door was.

She knew his name!

‘Wait, if they're here too...Yuto, the USB, is it still there?’ Yugo asked, floating around him in search of it.

Yuto himself checked his pockets, but the USB wasn't anywhere in them. “Oh, shit…!”

He then looked at Ruri. “Wait, Ruri, how-how'd you get here!? And the USB—”

But before she could answer, she had already left the room.

Ending A/N: uhhh i wanted to post this on manga day but decided eh and posted it now.

Now this is just and idea, but I'm thinking of idk maybe writing one one day (don't hope on this too much ill prolly give up on the thing) myself? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ def with more emotion, influence of backstory, & other plot-related things when I may plan the thing.

But if someone else wud/cud do it, I might (emphasis on might) give it a read ;))

Sayo's Route Masterlist

-Subaru and Sayo are in her room

Subaru: Are you sure you’re okay?

Sayo: Yeah. I’ve finally stopped crying.

Subaru: That doesn’t mean you’re okay…I can stay with you longer.

Sayo: Really, I’m fine. I just want some time alone to think.

-Subaru stares for a moment, unsure if he really should leave her alone or not

Subaru: Alright, fine…But find me if you need me again, got it?

Sayo: Fufu…Got it. Thanks, Subaru.

-Subaru leaves the room. He goes straight to Reiji’s room and knocks on the door

Reiji: Come in.

-He enters without a word

Reiji: Subaru? What is it? Did something happen?

Subaru: I found out why those other vampires are targeting Sayo.

Reiji: Oh?

Subaru: She told me they’re using her to replace some girl named Eve.

-Reiji is silent for a moment before chuckling

Reiji: Eve is not a person, it is a role. That means they believe Sayo is Eve. Interesting…Did you hear anything about Adam?

Subaru: She didn’t say anything about it. What the hell does that mean?

Reiji: Do not worry. What they are trying to accomplish is futile.

Subaru: Should I tell Sayo it’s a misunderstanding?

Reiji: Of course not. This is advantageous for us. Hopefully this ruins their relationship and rids us of them.

Subaru: Seemed like she regrets getting close to him…so probably.

Reiji: Good. I suppose I will not need to worry about her sneaking off so much now. That is a relief. Let me know if you hear anything else.

Subaru: Sure…

-Subaru leaves the room

-Meanwhile back in her room, Sayo is getting dressed again in the clothes she had thrown on the ground not too long ago. Once she’s sure the coast is clear, she sneaks out into town

(I’ve been agonizing over this decision for so long…I didn’t expect it to be suddenly made for me…)

-Sayo dials the number she has memorized once she finds a phone booth

Sayo: Hello? Lei?

Lei: Sayo? It’s so late…Is everything okay?

Sayo: The plan is a go. I’ll be on a bus at seven in the morning.

Lei: Oh…! Okay, got it! I’ll send a message to my aunt. I’ll ask my brother to drive and we’ll be ready to take you tomorrow.

Sayo: Thanks, Lei…

Lei: Do you want to talk about it…?

Sayo: Not tonight…I’ll tell you guys all about what’s happened tomorrow.

Lei: Okay. I’ll tell the others. I’ll see you tomorrow.

Sayo: Yeah…see you tomorrow.

-She hangs up the phone

(I feel so stupid for not taking the chance to use my escape plan when she first told me about it…I knew deep down I should have. It was completely ridiculous for me not to. This is what was supposed to happen…Now I’m finally going to escape this madness.)

Monologue

That morning, I packed a backpack full of things I needed before sneaking into town. I had barely slept after everything that had happened, but that was fine. I could sleep once I was safely away from it all. True to my word, I was on the bus at seven, heading for my hometown. Once I arrived, I stopped at a payphone so that I could call Kou for the first and last time. He didn’t answer, which was to be expected, so I left a message and headed for Lei’s house. When her older brother, Tetsuo, answered the door, I found that everyone was there waiting for me.

Kisa: Sayo!

-Kisa, Emi, and Rena all crush Sayo in a hug

Emi: We’ve been so worried about you!

Kisa: Yeah! Lei told us you’ve been dating someone but now you suddenly want to leave? Somethin’ happened, right?

Sayo: You could say that…It’s a long story…

Tetsuo: Well it’s a long drive to Aunt Meguri’s place. How about you tell it in the car to make the drive more interesting?

Sayo: That’s probably for the best.

Lei: Everyone’s parents gave the okay for us to stay tonight and tomorrow, Sayo.

Sayo: Really?

Rena: Yup! We’re taking a mini vacation with you!

Emi: My mom knows how long it’s been since I’ve seen you. She wanted me to tell you she says hello and that she hopes you’re doing well.

Sayo: She’s always so sweet…I’m so happy you guys are going to be staying!

Kisa: Hell yeah! It’s going to be a party!

Tetsuo: Fufu…Grab some breakfast if you want, Sayo and then we’ll head out. There’s some food out in the kitchen.

-She nods, going into the kitchen. She quickly eats some of the leftover rice and miso soup as her friends chat with her. Lei approaches her once she’s finished

Lei: Ready?

Sayo: Yeah, let’s go.

Monologue

We all piled our bags in the back of Tetsuo’s small van before getting in. Lei sat up front with her brother, leaving me beside Rena in the back and Kisa and Emi together. Everyone decided the back would be better so that they could all turn to look at me while I was telling my story of what had happened since the last time I saw them. And so, I explained everything…that I had met Kou and we became friends despite the brothers not being happy about it. That me and Kou slowly grew closer…and then he kissed me. Our relationship grew from there even though the brothers tried to get in the way…Reiji even going so far as to say he was going to start planning our wedding after the school year was up. And when I ran to Kou and his brothers after that to try to move in with them…I found out they had always seen me as some other girl named Eve.

Kisa: What the hell?! What a jerk!

Rena: Hmph…The audacity men have to do something like that…

Emi: Sayo…when you say Kou…you don’t mean Mukami Kou, do you? There have been rumors that he’s been seeing someone but nobody knows who…

Sayo: Er…you’re a fan of his, Emi…?

Emi: It really is Kou-kun?!

Rena: No way…You were dating a pop idol?!

Sayo: Um…yeah…

Kisa: Ahahaha! Nice going, Sayo!

Lei: I think we’re getting away from the point here…Said pop idol broke our friend’s heart, remember?

Rena: Of course. And we’ll break his knees for it if we ever see him, right girls?

Kisa: Hell yeah we will!

Lei: Haah…I swear, you two…Well, if we wouldn’t get in trouble for it, I would participate.

Emi: You guys…you shouldn’t resort to violence.

-Sayo pulls out her pocket knife, flipping it open with a grin

Sayo: I get first dibs, and then you guys can break his knees.

-The girls all break out into laughter

Tetsuo: Fufu…If that guy knew you and your friends were crazy, he never would have crossed you.

Kisa: Ain’t that right!

(They’ve made everything feel ten times better already…I’m so lucky to have them.)

Monologue

We were driving for hours, but it didn’t really feel like that because of all the fun we were having. I had been to visit Lei’s aunt before with her and her family. Meguri owned Crystal Waters Inn, a small but beautiful place in the forest. It was called Crystal Waters because of the open air bath attached to the inn along with the fact it was next to a river. When I said I needed to disappear to someplace far away, it was the first place Lei thought of. Meguri was more than happy to have me, but she already had an employee living at the inn. That lady was going to be getting married and moving away, though, so Meguri agreed that once she moved out, I could have her room as long as I took over her job as well. It was the perfect arrangement….and now it was finally happening.

-The group enters Crystal Waters Inn. Meguri is at the front desk

Meguri: Look who it is! I remember those faces! Lei, your friends have gotten so big!

Lei: Of course they have, Auntie. It’s been five years since the last time we were here.

Meguri: I’m so glad you’re here now. I’ve been so worried about your situation, Sayo. I can’t even imagine being forced to think about getting married at your age, let alone to someone you haven’t chosen for yourself! I’m so glad we’ve been able to make this work.

Sayo: Me too. Thank you so much for helping me like this, Meguri-san.

Meguri: You’re welcome, dear. Now, let me show you to the rooms you’ll be staying in. Then you can relax after such a long drive.

Tetsuo: Thanks, Aunt Guri.

*Timeskip*

-The girls are all getting into the open air bath

Kisa: Fwah! Best way to relax is hands down this bath~!

Rena: You can say that again. This is heaven~

Emi: You’re so lucky, Sayo. You’ll be able to take baths like this every day.

Sayo: This is a pretty big perk. It won’t be as fun without you guys, though.

Lei: We’ll visit as often as we can.

Kisa: Yup! I’m already planning on bein’ here with you guys all summer!

Emi: It will be so much fun…!

Rena: Hey, Sayo…Is that ring from him?

-She glances over in surprise to see Rena staring at her hand

Sayo: It is…

-She begins fiddling with the ring on her finger

Sayo: I should take it off…right?

(Why does the thought of taking it off hurt so much…?)

-Her friends all exchange glances

Lei: Not necessarily…It’s your ring. We can’t tell you whether you should wear it or not. It doesn’t matter that Kou gave it to you. It’s yours. You should do whatever feels right.

Rena: Exactly. I have jewelry from some of my exes that I still wear. They’re not as intimate as a ring, but still. You’re the only one who can decide what to do with it.

Sayo: I see…Thanks, guys. I’ll think about it.

Kisa: Gotta say, though, that’s one pretty ring…

Emi: It really is…

Sayo: I know…

Rena: I know we all have separate rooms, but it’s been forever since we’ve had a sleepover. I say we all crash in the same room tonight. We can get snacks, watch movies, and gossip the night away~!

Kisa: That sounds awesome! Count me in!

Sayo: You’re right, it’s been forever. If everyone else is okay with it, we should.

Emi: I think it’s a good idea!

Lei: Then it’s settled. We can use my room.

Kisa: Awesome! This night is gonna be so much fun!

Monologue

We all laid pillows and blankets out on the floor of Lei’s room that night. Kisa and Rena brought back snacks from the kitchen for all of us to share. We spent the night snacking, watching whatever looked good on the tv, and chatting as we did until we were too exhausted to stay awake any longer. It was a reminder of the days I loved back when I lived in my hometown. It wouldn’t be exactly the same as back then, but I was happy to have these moments with my friends back again.

arc v 51-65 thoughts! JACK IS HERE FINALLY!!!! also crow. also, prison arc. they sent 14 year olds to actual adult prison! the gang learned about classism, corruption in the system and that you cant Beat Cops with Smiles, but with your Fists :)

-ok. in the back end of the reiji v yuya duel yuya seems surprised to hear yuzu is okay, just taken. and im like. OH IS THAT WHY HES SO UPSET?? HE THOUGHT SHE WAS /DEAD/??? I mean. you know what thats fair. being turned into a piece of paper/cardboard(?) cards. would usually mean death I guess and he did think thats what happened to her. I still think its silly for him to be so pissed at reiji who by all accounts is the nicest ygo rich guy in the entire serieses history imo. but reiji did withhold some info to test yuya a lil bit. but yknow. still.

-…reiji's mom…TOLD the WORLD about the war/invaders AND THEY CANCELED. THE. TOURNAMENT. THEY CANCELED IT AND PRIORITIZED THE WORLDS SAFETY. we ARENT getting a FULL TOURNAMENT ARC??? IN YUGIOH??? i am shocked. no way… (I know I said itd be really funny if a protag didnt win the tournament, but they CANCELED IT which is somehow even funnier to me) I cannot say I expected this at all but im not MAD abt it

-see the next ep when yuya v his mom we learn his mom was a former GIRL GANG BOSS??? WHERE HAS /THAT/ ENERGY BEEN THIS WHOLE SERIES??? instead of being a creep towards kids she couldve been characterized like this! the story abt her and yuyas dad is pretty cute but if /i/ i had a hot mob boss wife i wouldnt be telling her to solve everything with smiles not violence :) i would pick up a fucking bat with her. whatever its FINE

-god the lil montage of yuzu's dad dueling with her in a lil baby pouch on his back and pausing a duel to change her diaper was SO CUTE. TF BEST YGO DAD FOR REAL GOD. hes a duel school teacher!!! why!! cant he come to help!!!! why are they just letting an 18-19 yr old lead the lancers into anOTHER DIMENSION. i dont CARE that hes thee most responsible smartest guy ever or whatever. my god

-shun and serena are remarkably chill abt all of this, hope we see more of them talking and hanging out and stuff. like serena looks just like his sister and yuya looks like his bestie and u KNOW thats SO weird to him?? but also they were on oppisite sides of the war! i want! more interactions! (very funny theyre both kinda trailing reiji. tbh if /i/ was stranded in another dimension he would be the person id be latching onto out of this cast, too. very nice and level headed guy)

-MY GOD. yugo is SO sweet, his calm explanation to yuzu and them just sittin and talking was great. (his reaction to yuzu implying he loves rin was also very very cute. and rins design AUGH I love it SO much. yuzu is still best arc v girl for me but rins design is my fav. GREEN.) JACK!!! MENTIONED!!!

-while they were talking it sorta explained yugo v yuto was a huge misunderstanding bc yuto thought yugo was the Fusion Enemy and yugo thought yuto was yuri. very very understandable and funny. and also im starting to think everyone in this series is colorblind bc they cant tell any of the yuzu/yuya counterparts apart by hair… (also, speaking of yuri, where did he GO. whts HE up to. weve barely gotten any of him and id like More Please)

-it's…been a minute since I watched 5ds. years. and I only watched it once, so I know im probably going to get details wrong, but aside from jack and crow, all other charas so far are arc v originals? like melissa and Guy that Looks Like This :>/ arent in 5ds right… the city kinda looks different to me, but maybe its just the animation looks newer… are we going to get an explanation to where yusei is? bc if jack and crow are in this…like, none of the protags are in arc v. are they busy. is this a universe without them.

-I forgot how dystopian 5ds was! stupid rich ppl calling the cops on yugo and yuzu for LOITERING and acting like the lower class is a Threat is a lil too real…damn. yugo is so nice immediately just pulling her along to help while shes with him ;_; personality wise hes my fav of the yu boys so far… (I feel like such a traitor for this. sorry to yuto bc zexal is my fav series. but we barely got to see him. whenever he comes back im sure we'll get..more... and sorry to yuya bc I Love Clowns….but I love silly lil bikenana boy…willing to bet when we get more yuri he might fight for that spot bc i LOVE a good villain too…we'll see…)

-YUZU'S REACTION TO YUGO DWHEEL DUEL IS SO FUNNY SHES LIKE. SO RATIONAL THO. my GOD she kept saying he should stop to duel on foot and yeah. playing yugioh (or, any card game) on a bike would be insanely hard. like you have to basically have your cards ALL memorized bc you gotta keep ur eyes ahead to drive, right, so ud only be able to glance? everyone in synchro world has insane memorizing skills. (I know to a degree you'd be able to make the d-wheels have a sort of autopilot, but no, we see them steering themselves and accelerating themselves…)

-the animation kept cutting to 3d models while they were dueling on their bikes and it did Not Look Very Good. it was still very fun.

-yuzu Learns About Corrupt Police and Society Today! She once again is the Real Protag to Me. reporter cowgirl ladys design is cute!

-what was the point of the duel if the cops were gonna just set up a blockade anyway tf. the entertainment aspect is SO fucked lmao bored rich ppl. too real. yugo u dont need to rise in society u gotta burn it all down its all fucked. -_-

-YUZU HAS BEEN IN SYNCHRO WORLD FOR (1) DAY AND IS NOW A WANTED CRIMINAL!!! HOT GIRL SUMMERRRRR. (and by proximity, yuya and serena lol)

-LAYRA SAW COPS AND FLIPPED OUT. understandable but also WHO HURT U. SHINGO IMMEDIATELY NOT GIVING A FUCK AND IS READY TO DUEL THE COPS. SERENA TOO. honestly very iconic of everybody great job. except yuya who is just baffled and not 100% ready to throw down. Get with the PROGRAM yuya u cant fight cops with smiles.

-you know I understanding theyre tryin to duel their way out of it but letting ppl from synchro see: fusion, action cards, and pendulum in ONE GO seems DANGEROUS.

-sorry, but shingo being arrested while yuya is like YAY ACTION DUEL LET ME ENTERTAIN U ^_^ IS THE FUNNIEST THING EVER. and everytime he asked layra if theyre okay they look like a goddamn espurr like O__O clearly NOT OK. VERY SCARED WITHOUT REIJI. WHY DID U BRING THIS TRAUMATIZED CHILD!!!

-there was a scene when yuya was like 'look at these beautiful ladies!" n his hippo girl monsters danced for an uncomfortably long time and the cops face kept being zoomed in on and he was like O__O this ep…i cant tell if its TRYING to make me laugh but it is, my god yuya u are making ME smile if no one else. for absolutely the Wrong Reason. the CHEERFUL TONE he takes on in this situation is SO NOT APPROPRIATE FOR THE GRAVITY OF BEING. ARRESTED. this cop hes dueling is also the most tirest man ive ever seen which makes it so much better

-crows entrance was absolutely INCREDIBLE. WITH THE MOODY THUNDER AND ALL!! HOLY SHIT. just the sound of revving in the distance building up to it CROWWWWW I LOVE U. still probably most excited for jack but STILL.

-ohh, yugo know doesnt what his parents look like huh…and yuzu doesnt know what her mom looked like? her dad, the most cheerful dude in the world never talked abt her? weird.. theres still the mystery of yuzu having her bracelet…id say maybe all the yuya/yuzu counterparts might be the same but no, yuya has both parents so…cannot rly do anything with this info rn…

-ok just a small thought, but in the op and the eps so far, the guy whos always looking over security (idk his name yet but he looks like this :>/) is implied to be the villain, and ig reijis dad might be one of the final villains, but we havent had any Very Present Active villains aside from GROUPS of invaders that are p much faceless…I want more like. Present Villains. does that make sense. dennis doesnt count btw hes just some guy whos hangin out.

-shingo just introduced yuya as his APPRENTICE. PLEASE. i love him so much hes the funniest guy ever. crow also immediately being like 'idk abt all this dimension stuff! but u guys can hang out here for however long u need to :)' LOVE U CROW

-im running into traffic to defend gons honor. hes so mad dennis made him the villain in their silly little roleplay HAHA. dennis is like a campy little guy, even when hes outed as a traitor later I seriously seriously doubt itll stick or he'll be a real threat. hes a silly guy..also I just like his monsters designs a lot. (also, he outed xyz to synchro dimension too LMAO DUDE. now they have all the summoning methods u guys can use…)

-gallager is just. he introduces himself as a promoter but him and nico smiley are both like. pimps for duelists right. KAHSDKJ. love his outfit so much tho

-so…where the HELL did reiji land….mildly concerned about now, its been a few…eps and he hasnt been shown…where did he go……..is he ok…….is he with jack….

-very grateful yuya is the one kinda looking after layra in reijis absence. makes perfect sense since he kinda is a big bro figure to the kids at the duel school too! it adds a real softness to yuya that I like (ok lets be real hes already been pretty soft. gooey and warm center, like a cookie) for a second it panned to serena and i was thinking pls dont let the only girl in the group be the mother hen but no. she completely ignores layra and decided to go out on her own (shingo following her lol) bc shes sick of sitting around waiting and her main goal, in her Words is to Find Yuzu too. would it be weird to ship them since they..look the same supposedly….JSDKFJK its tht question of what ud do if u met a clone of urself/alt version of urself. would u kiss or kill them. serena is a Kiss the Clone kinda girl and I respect that

-the lil story with the boss was fun (and felt appropriate given hes dueling yuya, who is all abt Smiles and Entertaining and hed lost that…like gettin his spark back) …so the moral here is u can make friends with fellow inmates n have solidarity but the cops are always enemies. understandable and real

-so yuya should become the new prison boss. right. he beat the old boss. but whatever I guess they didnt want yuya to be a crimeboss...cowards

-so whenever someone tries breaking out, their friends/the ppl left behind get punished and taken somewhere they 'never return from'…thats…terrifying and would be pretty efficient to anyone with any kind of morals, but idk, i feel like anyone would get really desperate and try it anyway at a certain point if conditions are bad enough, their fellow inmates be damned..

-the problem with me trying to figure out how and why this series diverges from 5ds is that i remember Nothing Important from 5ds at all. i remember the dumbass details like that jack loved cup ramen JSDHKJ but its clearly an au (with..no yusei for some reason...) and im like. wondering if theyll ever explain WHY its an au from the original. or if im just supposed to Know. bc I Dont Yet

-I thought itd be really funny if jack DID defeat yuya in Three Turns like he said he was going to. and then he DOES. he beats him so hard yuya FLIES OFF HIS BIKE. AND BOUNCES. not that it's a BAD thing. he wants to make people happy, and it makes him happy in turn when theyre cheering for him! thats fine! (an irl example would be like, I enjoy making art for others to make them happy. but I also enjoy getting positive feedback for my own satisfaction!) absolutely nothing wrong with it!

HOWEVER. the impression I've gotten so far is that yuya gets upset when his opponent is the one being cheered for (a good example was the michio duel and that annoying trivia kid duel. he didnt seem real happy when the audience was rooting for them and not him!) as opposed to…I cant believe I'm comparing him to dennis but. the dennis v gon duel was a great example of what I think a more genuine entertainment duel should be…they were playing the roles of hero v villain, and dennis was great at improv there, quickly turning into the villain when Straight Man to his Comedy Guy routine Gon accused him of being the Real Villain in that situation. like he ROLLED with it and was perfectly fine with gon winning bc it suited their lil story and the audience loved it! I think entertainment dueling SHOULD be like that, like improv and acting bc you're entertaining ppl. ur a performer. u need to go w the flow more.

(Okay, this might not have been the best duel to show it off bc 1. hes dueling JACK of all ppl who declared hes gonna WIN and. he Will. 2. this is a situation where hes trying to showcase the strength of the lancers, so it wouldnt do to THROW the duel. but he couldve played into jacks dramatics a bit, made himself out to be more of a dramatic underdog, or a potential upstarter…for wanting to be an ENTERTAINER I want to see yuya channel his dramatics a LOT more than he does. esp w jack of all ppl!) to me it feels like yuya also ties a LOT of his self worth to how other ppl perceive his role in duels too which is Unhealthy (and again. is an extension of the 'smile when u want to cry' stuff imo, also pretty unhealthy) I…dont know if any of this is That Deep or theyre just trying to make jack seem like an asshole. I WANT it to be this deep bc its a REALLY interesting trait for a protag to have!

-kinda love how ppl in the Tops are dressed like old timey victorians. (also a lot of them have very western names) it just creates a very. unique vibe

-can I also just say i LOVE LOVE LOVE the trope in ygo of 'person does what they think is the final finishing move, then theres smoke and everyone is like :0 and when the smoke clears, the person is still standing in the duel because of some trap/spell/effect' IT HAPPENS SO MUCH IN ARC V AND I EAT IT UP EVERYTIME.

Diabolik Lovers: Haunted Dark Bridal Part 1 - Sakamaki Ayato Route

Just to start off, I watched a bit of the Diabolik Lovers anime and kinda liked it but also felt it was a bit weird, so I thought I would try out the game instead! I really love the art, so I just had to try the story again, especially since all the guys are hot haha. Btw, since the game is in Japanese, I have been reading it with a translation on the side haha. I try to read it with my own skills but some things are just too hard haha. Anyway, man, this feels like a horror game for the poor girl lmao. Not only does Yui get abandoned by her father for "her sake" but she's told to go to a haunted house to see some relatives that will take care of her?? I wonder if the dad is on this, like why couldn't he take her along and why is she being sent to these suspicious vampire men? OMG, I was like is Ayato's VA who I think it is, and of course it is Midorikawa Hikaru!! I love him already. Lmao I was wondering what "chichinashi" was when Ayato referred to her as that but it actually means titless🤣 He's such an ass to keep repeating that she has no breasts lol. Laito just licked Yui?? Omggg lol. Anyway, I forgot about Laito always referring to her as bitch-chan, so now I'm annoyed with him but also dead at how silly it sounds😂 Omg Kanato's appearance is legit terrifying. His eyes look so soulless, I am scared.

AHHH, I heard about the binaural audio or dummy head microphone thing about this game so I've been trying it out with earphones and I felt so violated with the licking noises LOL. Kanato is so creepy, he makes me so scared lmao😂 The way he talked to his teddy bear? Legit horrifying🥲 Ummm, did Reiji just say it's okay to cook Yui? Plz. I mean, Reiji is hot and if he says he'll whip Yui for not explaining why she's here... I'm in for it😂 I'm sorry, I'm trash too😂 Anyway, Yui has some spunk even though she's even more terrified after discovering that they're vampires. I felt so bad for her when she tried to run away but got caught and then had her mobile phone broken by Subaru. I think the saddest thing is that her dad really meant to leave her here (according to Shuu). So...we have to pick who she'll give her blood to and that's the route we'll end up on? Well, Ayato it is! I am terrified of Kanato saying he'll cut Yui up if we don't pick him, and I don't know what we'll regret about not choosing Laito but from my perspective, Ayato seems the most normal. I hope he is anyway... Well, glad to see Shuu tell them that they're not allowed to kill Yui because of whoever in the church that is related to this?🥲 Lol at Ayato teasing Yui for being scared of the lights going out and thinking a ghost would come out. He refers to himself as Ayato-sama to her hahaha, I guess he does just view her as food.. On one hand, I feel very sorry for Yui because Ayato biting her must hurt, but on the other hand, I cannot resist Midorikawa Hikaru's voice so yes pls. Ooh I didn't realise that they're not proper routes but more like short events or scenarios? Interesting. I legit can't. The binaural audio with earphones really feels like Ayato is speaking straight into my head LOL, it's so good and so disturbing at the same time hahaha. Lmao when Yui was worried about Ayato getting poisoned as well when she thought a poisonous bat scratched her and Ayato sucked her blood. On the other hand, the sucking noises with binaural audio is a whole new experience, I recommend everyone to listen to it at least once in their lives🤣

Well, I thought Ayato was just going to play a nice prank where he scares Yui with a wax doll but omg when he tried to drip wax on her body so she can become a wax doll too, like dude hold up please. LMAO when Ayato stole Yui's notebook to try and force her to go home so he can drink her blood, and she distracts him by saying there's a big breasts beauty in the hallway, and he even believes it enough that Yui gets her notebook back🤣🤣🤣 At least he's got the decency to take her back after sucking so much blood from her, but I'm seriously lowering my standards for Ayato aren't I?🤣 Ayato licking the wound on Yui's knee so that none of her blood gets wasted was nicee, lmao when he tried to move her skirt out of the way and lick her thighs because he was "bored" of her knee🤣 Omg, what did he use on Yui to make her burn up and feel light headed! Ayato whispering in my ear saying he can't hold back is not what I was expecting, omg, my heart. Nice to know how interested he is in Yui now though haha. The kisses omgggg!! I mean yeah, this game is very iffy when it comes to consent and toxic men but I find it very refreshing hahaha. I mean, I can't resist Ayato saying he'll take all of Yui's first times and I love how unrelenting he was when it came to teasing her with kisses lol. Well, I was going to say Ayato's mother (Cordelia) looks hot, which she does but dang does she seem kinda crazy. But then again, who isn’t crazy in this game?

Lmao when Yui said should she act like she dislikes him drinking her blood if that's what makes him happy🤣 Yui really is too sweet and naive lol. The moment Ayato took the dog collar off the dog, I knew he was going to put it on Yui and tell her to be his dog lmao. I lovee the kitchen scene!! It was so cute how he kept kissing her and kept wanting her attention when she was cooking lmao. One of the rare times he's actually cute and honest, and omgg Ayato's favourite food is takoyaki! I approve. Loll when he bit another girl just because he wanted to see Yui's reaction. Honestly, even though we know this relationship is toxic, I admit that the thought of Ayato going to another girl for blood made me sad too. OMG IT'S THE THING OF NIGHTMARES! Legit wanted to freak out with that sideways pose Kanato makes, it's so creepy omg. Okay, it's nuts but I love it. Binaural audio of Midorikawa Hikaru saying "you belong to me/you're mine" is just the besttt👌👌👌 My heart omg. Ohhh dangg, they actually did it omggg?! Lmao when he was holding himself back from drinking her blood because she's weak right now so he poured honey on her instead and started licking her lmao. Ayato was so mean when he handcuffed her and left her in a dark underground sewer all by herself for a while! She would be relieved and happy to see anyone after that! WOW, what a jerk LMAO, I legit laughed (I’m sorry) when Ayato pushed Yui into the lake because she was focused on looking for shooting stars and wasn't giving him enough attention, what a guy man. Honestly, it's pretty hilarious how jealous Ayato can get, I do feel bad for Yui but it is cute in its own way. Does Yui have Cordelia's heart or something? Is that why Ayato thinks their blood tastes the same? Just when you think Ayato is nice, he gets a bit more nuts and starts using a knife to slowly cut her for blood because biting her apparently isn't as exciting anymore lolll.

Well, the first ending is rather tame. How interesting that Richter was the one who put Cordelia's heart into Yui. Whether he did that because he wanted Cordelia to live on somehow or because he wanted to spite Ayato's father, the vampire king or whatever, who knows I guess. Does Richter have a route though? I like him, well his face😅 Dang, that after story with Yui wanting Ayato to bite her everywhere and even wanting him to bite her ring finger so that his mark will always be there. Lmao that they were doing that in the lounge ignoring everyone around them haha! Lolll when she asked Laito for recommendations for presents to give to a guy and he's like their girlfriend's underwear, this wild man🤣 On the other hand, it's nice to see how concerned and worried Ayato is running around looking for Yui. Honestly, I'm sure Yui could just say she went shopping and he wouldn't even realise it's for his birthday lol, but I guess drama is drama. I can't even blame Ayato for getting annoyed considering his personality alongside Laito just constantly causing trouble lol. I wanted to tear up when Yui bit her own finger not wanting the mark of her being his to fade. OMG, Ayato actually apologised to Yui and kissed her finger for misunderstanding her when she was just trying her best to give him a surprise birthday present. That's so cute, really didn't expect the apology haha! It is illegal for Ayato to blush!! He's so cute when he blushes!! So adorable to see how he happy he was to receive the Ruby earring from Yui. Oh, and a man that's willing to eat a smashed up cake that fell on the floor for you is a 10/10! He may be toxic but he's such a sweet guy when it counts! Well transferring cake mouth-to-mouth certainly sounds hot! I approve. The cake probably won't really taste that good though haha. Okay, the sadistic ending was very not nice lol! He killed all the vampires and Yui has basically become his doll, yeah... I guess the other one isn't any better hahah. It broke my heart to see the guys try and take advantage of Yui and suck her blood when Ayato was gone, I felt so bad for her. I felt so relieved for her when Ayato came back, and I honestly loved how angry he was at the guys and how protective he was over her. Considering how he can be, him disinfecting her body with his kisses and then hugging her when she was scared was sweet.

Overall, Ayato was better than I thought he would be! Yeah, he was crazy possessive at times (most of the time) and he doesn't listen to Yui when she says she's anemic and needs rest, but he's also very gentle when he wants to be. I loved it when he hugged her to reassure her that he's the one with her in the heaven scenario and when he apologised to her after misunderstanding her on his birthday?? Such improvement, I wanted to cry. But yeah, then there's times he'll push her into the lake because she's not giving him the attention he wants lmao. It's such a rollercoaster, I love it. It's even better that he's voiced by Midorikawa Hikaru because that instantly makes Ayato 1000x better hahaha, I just love how sensually he talks into your ear with the binaural audio haha! Anyway, Ayato was cuter than expected, and I guess you'll like him if you like men who are possessive and a bit childish in that aspect of you needing to give him all your attention all the time lol. I’m definitely all in on this ride of Diabolik Lovers. It’s so rare to find men so unapologetically toxic LOL. Every now and then I just need this toxicity injected into my veins HAHA.

Diabolik Lovers A Certain Prophet’s Fate Analysis

What I found when reading through the lyrics, is that the story being told could be Reiji’s thoughts and perspective - the song may act as his inner thoughts and him trying to articulate them in a metaphorical way. The song itself is quite beautiful to listen to but I wanted to address the lyrics and their hidden meanings in relation to Reiji’s character. We know that Reiji likes to use his intellect to his advantage; so it can be argued that he wouldn’t outright admit his state of mind within this song, naturally, he’d create a more elaborate way to let his ‘story’ unfold, and I think this is what we see here.

So, shall we begin ?

Note: I wanted to post the song separately too since I know my HDB analysis is long, and posting it separately would also be convenient if you just want to read the song analysis on its own.

In the dense black forest of Schwarzwald, In doting adoration of a virgin, riding on a unicorn’s back

First of all, Schwarzwald simply means 'Black Forest' in German; it relates to a forest so dense that almost no sun ever reaches the forest floor - those who enter are surrounded by darkness -. This can create quite dark imagery, not just physically but also metaphorically as the darkness contrasts with the imagery of light - "a virgin, riding on a unicorn's back" - and this can be implied to relate to the story of Faust as well as the character of Yui.

Within the story, we’re introduced to two virgins, one being named Gretchen and the other is the Virgin Mary herself - both contain imagery of purity and religion, Gretchen prays to God for her soul to be cleansed and Mary carried the son of God. What I wanted to draw parallels on is how that imagery applies to Yui, she was raised in a church - showing that she’s a child of God, and we know that her religion plays a rather big part in her life; she prays to God quite frequently, and - in the literal term - she is also virginal. Virginity can connotate to a multitude of things, such as physical virginity (the hymen is intact) but also religious virginity - purity - and not being ‘tainted’ by darker forces at play. If we take the “virgin” to mean Yui - someone pure of heart and spirit, someone who’s not been corrupted by the dark side of humanity and holds truth in her beliefs - then what does the unicorn signify ?

Unicorns can often be linked to purity, freedom, gentleness, virginity, innocence, divinity, and magic. Christians believe that the unicorn symbol is that of Christ and Mother Mary themselves - both being devoted children of God -. By posing the imagery of “a virgin, riding a unicorn’s back”, it could be implied to symbolise Yui and her many virtuous traits - or, to put it simply, Yui is riding on the back of her virtues -. Additionally, symbols such as unicorns and virginity can also be implied to carry imagery of light - the concept of unicorns are more often than not depicted as being pure white and flying up to the Heavens - past the white clouds and into paradise, a place that is also depicted as white or ‘pure’ -. Virginity can also contain those same ‘white’ qualities as white lilies are typically the symbol of virginity. The reason I’m honing in on the colour white is due to it’s connotations of purity, innocence and light. To put it plainly, purity represents light, and Yui (in this context) represents that purity.

That being said, if Yui is the second part of that phrase, it’s likely to imply that the first relates to Reiji himself. “Dense black forest”, let’s unpack that: both “dense” and “black” contain connotations of darkness and something impenetrable; it contrasts the imagery of light and purity we’ve just discussed. Themes of light are often representative of religion and themes of darkness represent those of hellish qualities; if Yui represents ‘light’ in this case, then Reiji must consequently represent the “dark”. The “forest” could connote to Reiji’s emotional state as traditionally, the forest has come to represent being lost, exploration and potential danger as well as mystery and ‘other worldliness’ - all traits we see within Reiji -. Due to Reiji being the narrator (since he’s singing) it can be implied that he’s metaphorically describing his internal struggles, he’s stuck within his own turmoil - and emotions such as this are often referred to as a ‘dark place’, which links us to the symbolic imagery of the “black forest”. It not only symbolises his Vampiric nature - something not of God nor Heaven but the darker depths of Hell itself; hence why they originate from the Demon World within the Diabolik Lovers canon - but it also symbolises his emotional distress and his inner darkness that he oppresses Yui with. The light and dark imagery reflect Yui and Reiji as well as their religious counterparts - Yui represents light, and Heaven, whereas Reiji represents the dark and therefore Hell.

The noun “adoration” could imply that Reiji desires to be ‘free’ of his traumatic ties while Yui rests atop her kindness. However, it could also imply that Reiji wishes to drag Yui down into the “dark forest” with him and corrupt her pure nature.

The brightly shining moon, a stirring breeze, With the fairies’ boisterous rituals, driving pounding hearts ever faster

The adverbial phrase “brightly shining moon” could posses connotations of light - referring to Yui as we’ve previously implied - however, the word “moon” could imply that the ‘light’ is pale, and it’s cold as opposed to the warm light associated with the sun - they both can also be associated with God as he created both the sun and the moon; they both produce Heaven’s light however, one is pale and cold in comparison to the other, leading darker forces to claim the night -. Within the Bible, night represents a lack of faith in God. With this symbolism in mind, it can be implied that once the cover of daylight has faded, Yui is vulnerable, and the “dark forest” would consequently grow ‘stronger’ - which is something we see within the route as Vampires are canonically weaker within daylight.

Conversely, the phases of the moon can symbolise immortality, eternity, enlightenment and the dark side of nature itself. Something that clearly applies to the character of Reiji - Vampires are immortal and spend their eternity feeding into their trials and tribulations, their ‘enlightenment’ in this case, is to be killed and be set ‘free’. It could be implied that as the moon shines, not only is Yui vulnerable in her faith, but Reiji is biding his time to strike her down into his ‘eternity’.

Fairies are often associated with plants and springtime, depicted as pure figures who possess magical powers. However, in the tales of fairies, they are, more often than not, mischievous creatures with dark and evil intentions. The Latin root word for fairy is ‘fay’ meaning fate; this could signify the purpose of fairies within myths, fairies in stories are constantly messing with the fates of humans. Fairies in these myths may be of the more cartoonish variety and signify simply love, magic and springtime, but most signify things like death, sexual depravity, abduction and general immorality. I wanted to draw attention to the imagery of fairies and their ‘rituals’ as their connotations can vary from divinity to Satanism.

It can be implied that this section refers to Yui, as within the first interpretation of fairies, they symbolise purity and life - and given Yui’s age at the beginning of the story, her youth displays the life her body has and the life it can give, she’s pure, untainted and brimming with life. However, ‘fairies’ could also relate to the brothers. With the interpretation that fairies can also derive from a darker ilk, and like to cause mischief, it could represent the brothers - they each have dark intentions for Yui no matter who’s route you play, and they do it for their own entertainment and their own benefit. Reiji purposely dehumanises Yui and turns her into a loyal pet. Reiji’s “ritual” is to strip Yui of her virtues so that she’ll play into his incessant need for control, driving her pounding heart even faster - what I mean by this is fear, throughout the beginning of Reiji’s route, Yui was undoubtedly afraid of Reiji and the threat he posed to her; he implemented fear into Yui in order to break her.

Conversely, this line can also be interpreted to contain sexual connotations. We’ve dived into how fairies can also be symbols of sexual intimacy and depravity; if we take into account that sadism can also occur within intimate situations like this, it could link back to Reiji. By him essentially breaking Yui, it can be implied that he gains gratification from doing so; “driving pounding hearts ever faster”, Yui’s heart could be inferred to be beating from fear whilst Reiji’s could be implied to be pounding from the pleasure his sadism grants him.

While unknowing that the contracted “Devil” follows after—

This line could serve the implication that while Yui’s vulnerable in the night, she still holds that naivety; she hasn’t figured out the situation she’s in and Reiji’s closing in on her. I’ve interpreted the “contracted ‘Devil’” to relate to Reiji - a narrative self-reference, if you will -, he’s referring to himself while posing the situation that Yui is unaware of his darker intentions for her. She holds firm to her beliefs in God yet she is ignorant to her state of vulnerability.

Ah, such a foolish thing you are, little girl (Falling to ruin) That glass mask of yours is (beginning to crack) Decide, without looking back at the promises shredded by your sins

Firstly, I’d like to point out that Yui is referred to as a “foolish thing”. This noun phrase could insinuate that Reiji’s chastising her naivety, and the fact that she was blissfully unaware and ignorant to the position she was in. To add to this, the noun “thing” also displays the difference in power as it’s established early on in Reiji’s route that ‘sacrificial brides’ are merely nothing more than blood bags - right from the get-go Yui is beneath Reiji -. However, from a psychological standpoint, it’s clear to say that when one person intends to ruin another’s life in some way, shape or form, they tend to distance themselves - either physically, emotionally or both - as it’s easier to hurt someone when you barely view them as a person at all; and I think this is what that line means, Reiji’s pushing Yui into “falling to ruin” - she’s falling to her (spiritual) ‘death’, she’s losing herself and who she is.

The second line strikes me as ironic as the phrase “glass mask” can predominantly refer to a person’s façade. In the context that Reiji is implying Yui’s innate kindness to be a façade of some form, he could be posing the implication that those who are kind often ‘hide away’ their darker counterparts; their ‘sinful’ side. Throughout most of Reiji’s route, Yui has been posed with the question that she should let her dark and carnal self prevail - proving to Reiji that in all her humanity, Yui is nothing more than a pet, an animal who thrives on her carnal instincts, and we see this within the second ending, when Yui poses herself as Cordelia - enslaving Reiji - and essentially living at the ‘top of the food chain’. In that ending, Yui lets her darker side prevail and - in the context of this particular phrase - it therefore poses the implication that her ‘kindness’ was simply a façade, her “glass mask”. The noun “glass” can have connotations of fragility; that the ‘face’ she ‘prefers’ to show is not how she actually feels. The overall implication that Reiji is giving us, is that Yui expresses feelings that are not her own; and the ‘mask’ she wears is as fragile as glass, and once she’s distracted or vulnerable, that mask will break and her ‘true’ self will show.

This is obviously very ironic since Reiji is the one to hide away his true feelings - he plays the role of a ‘polite butler’ yet we know he is anything but that - he uses abuse and manipulation to cover up his own insecurities and turmoil. If anything, he is the one who wears a mask of glass. Glass is fragile, much like his ego and self-esteem, and that mask beings to crack as his route develops - indulging in Yui’s naïve compassion.

The third line could be implied to mean that Yui must make her decision to stay with him - commit to Reiji without hesitation, without the desire to run and give in to her carnal sins with him. He’s asking Yui to take the plunge into sin with him, revoke her religion and commit to him.

“You still do to that extent, even though I’ve told you so firmly.”

This dialogue strikes me as odd, it doesn’t refer to much within the song, however, it could pair with the second piece of dialogue, implying that Yui is still trying to run from her situation; she’s not ready to fully commit from God to the “Devil” - the “Devil” in this case being Reiji, and quite obviously, “Devil” has quite sinister connotations; given that Yui was raised by the church, her commitment to something demonic (and vampiric) is not going to be an easy or nice feat for her.

It can also be implied that this is taking place throughout the beginning of her ‘training’ as it can be inferred that she’s still resisting him even though he’s “told [her] so firmly”, further insinuating that she still has her willpower at this point. She’s not fully succumbed to Reiji’s abuse yet.

A single enraged horn, able to thrust its way up to the heavens Like a chaotically blooming rose, it’s splattered across your face

This first line could posses many different interpretations, the first could relate back to Faust, a man who sold his soul to the Devil yet still tried to force himself into Heaven, only to fail. However, it could also relate back to the relationship between Reiji and Yui, and insinuate something of a sexual nature. Not only are horns associated with devils and demons, but the noun “horn” can posses connotations of a phallic symbol and sexual imagery. Within Greek mythology, strength, power and supremacy are a part of the symbolism of horns. The other connotation is virility - procreative vigour. Within the story of the ‘Plough’, even the use of the oxen to pull the plough had its sexual connotation. The plough drew its furrow in the soil, and was pulled by reins attached to the oxen's horns. The horns were the force behind the plough’s coitus with the earth; therefore, horns grew a sexual connotation. Alongside the noun “horn” the verb “thrust” also contains sexual connotations; with this semantic field in mind, it could imply that “heavens” relates to Yui’s purity and virginity. Additionally, the imagery of roses also feeds into this interpretation as white flowers are a common symbol of virginity; the imagery of a flower blooming can often be associated to metaphorically represent becoming a woman (losing your virginity) and the flower turns from white to red as the blood pours - and roses are often red or at least associated with the colour red as opposed to white.

Conversely, it could also refer to Yui and Reiji’s emotional relationship, and the dark and light imagery could be a metaphysical representation of that. It could imply that Reiji’s abuse is starting to infect Yui - a child of God being corrupted by something demonic -. It can also link back to her “glass mask” as the corruption allows Yui’s kind nature to drop and her weak and vulnerable state to be “splattered across [her] face”. It could insinuate that the “blooming rose” is Yui’s corruption starting to grow and infest her; yet she’s still trying to fight it - she’s infected by Reiji, and the rose imagery could represent that. Roses are often associated with love and throughout Reiji’s route, we see Yui start to fall into the categories of Stockholm Syndrome and co-dependency, that ‘love’ is starting to bloom yet it is a twisted form of love.

The imagery of a “deep crimson” can connote to blood, and not necessarily just Yui’s. the notion that it’s referred to as a “curse” and “family’s fate” offers the interpretation that Reiji views his heritage as a source of evil and misfortune and that tribulations are inevitable and unavoidable for him. It not only relates to each brother’s misery and the misery they force upon Yui, but it also relates back to their mothers and Karlheinz himself as Christa dealt with severe mental illnesses, Cordelia suffered from a multitude of issues and Beatrix was severely bullied by Cordelia - and Karlheinz foresaw all of this and made it his personal experiment to cause each one misery and make sure that instability was passed down onto each brother; with that information in mind, it would be natural for Reiji to interpret this recurring theme to be something akin to a family curse, a terrible privilege that each of them share. In addition to this, “A damned soul, never again to...” could be a self-reference from Reiji, if he views his heritage as a “curse”, then it’s likely that he appoints himself as a “damned soul” - with “damned” giving connotations of misery and turmoil -. I’d like to bring attention to the aposiopesis found within this line as what Reiji aims for is left ambiguous, however, what I interpret this unfinished phrase to mean, is that he’s a “damned soul, never again to” reach the ‘light’ and achieve happiness and genuine love and affection. If Reiji interprets himself as a cursed child, it would be natural for him to crave the love and stability he was never given, he wants what he can’t have and he can’t have it because he’s “damned” to be awarded nothing but tribulations, turmoil and misery.

“You know you can never escape!!”

I’ve interpreted this section of dialogue to link to the other - it uses the passive voice. The passive voice is used to show interest in the person or object that experiences an action rather than the person or object that performs the action. In other words, the most important thing or person becomes the subject of the sentence, for example: ‘the plate was dropped by Yui’ rather than ‘Yui dropped the plate’. The most important part of this sentence is that “[Yui] can never escape”, yet it comes secondary to “I’ve told you so firmly” - which is the least important part of the phase, yet it is spoken first; further implying that Reiji is using the passive voice to ‘chastise’ Yui into submission.

The phrase itself could pose a few interpretations, one being that she can never escape from Reiji - Yui’s his prey and he’s not going to let her go idly by -. The second is that she can never escape her fate; I think this is the overall theme of Reiji’s song. Reiji is fated to live out a torturous, Vampiric existence, and Yui is damned to be tied to Reiji’s fate due to her father’s involvement. Yui’s fate was decided once Cordelia’s heart was instilled in her; she was damned from the beginning and I believe Reiji knows this - he’s trying to drag her into damnation with him.

A dying science,

Your impressions destroyed, at the hand of a shameless fist

The first line here could be interpreted as an oxymoron, as science is often connected to discovering something new or creating something new - discovering a new ‘life’ so to speak - and this connotation would naturally contrast with “dying”. Science can relate to a multitude of things, biology, chemistry, physics and psychology to name a few. this phrase could link to both Reiji and Yui if we take the psychological approach - the phrase itself could be metaphorical of Reiji breaking Yui’s self-worth. Throughout his route, Reiji has undoubtedly used Yui as an ‘experiment’ of sorts, a ‘science’ to explore and break down into its basic fundamentals; her “impressions” - impressions of herself, those around her and trying to help them as best as she can - are “destroyed”, her self-worth and confidence are decimated by Reiji’s cruelty, by the “hand of a shameless fist”.

However, it could be interpreted in a more literal sense and instead link back to when Cordelia inhabited Yui’s body and chose to destroy Reiji’s laboratory; and in turn, destroy the potion he was devoting himself to that would resurrect Beatrix, devoting himself to a “dying science” if you will. In that moment, Reiji’s impressions of coming to terms with his CEN were destroyed by Cordelia’s self-importance - her “shameless fist” destroyed the very thing (aside from Yui) that was pivotal to him.

As these sins pile up like the falling snow, there is no hope of redemption Their height surpassing even your castle walls, it’s far too late to even pray to God

This section here could be implied to be metaphorical and represent Yui’s inner self and her emotional walls and boundaries. First of all, comparing sins to snow alongside with the sibilance in both can be implied to connote to something light and cunning; the ‘s’ sound can also give off snake-like imagery - which takes us back to the religious themes threaded throughout the game and this song. The snake that bit Eve (the Devil) and ‘awakened’ her can make quite a nice parallel to Reiji and Yui. Throughout this song, it can be inferred that Reiji references himself to be the “Devil” - he’s not the Devil but he is demonic - and Yui (throughout the games) is named Eve in relation to her ‘awakening’; both the Adam and Eve theme threaded throughout More Blood, and the other games hold quite Biblical references and imagery.

Snow also continues this religious imagery as it often symbolises purity, which could mean that this contrast is posing the implication that Yui’s sins are pure (as in [something] is pure envy or [insert sin here]’. However, snow tends to fall slowly and lightly, which could imply that Yui’s submission into Reiji’s abuse is slow and light at the beginning but like snow, it culminates over time. We could even go as far as to compare her submission to the sin of sloth. Sloth has been defined as a failure to do things that one should do; in this case - or rather, in Yui’s case - that failure is the failure to overpower her abuser.

The second part to the first line - “there is no hope of redemption” - could apply to both Reiji and Yui. Yui has no hope for redemption once she submits to Reiji - to submit to Reiji, a vampire, a demon, she is effectively turning her back on her faith; she’s made peace with her fate and therefore, there is no redemption for her in Yui’s own eyes. As for Reiji, he has no hope for redemption due to the abhorrent cruelty he bestows on Yui; his treatment of not only her, but Shuu, Beatrix and Edgar too. Reiji cannot achieve redemption because he cannot accept when he is at fault. His behaviour towards others and his sadism prevent him from becoming better; therefore, for him, there is no redemption. At least, redemption cannot take place just yet, remember, this is a story being told by Reiji about Yui - his perception of her is going to be vastly different from ours as the audience; therefore, he cannot see ‘redemption’ for her, and in his own way of thinking, he poses the question that maybe she cannot see redemption for herself either.

The imagery of Yui’s sins growing higher than her “castle walls” could be implied to be metaphorical. When a person hides away their feelings, we often use the phrase ‘putting up walls’ to describe their emotional cut off. I believe this can be referential to Yui as throughout the beginning of Reiji’s route, we often see Yui hide away her deeper affections; she keeps her larger thoughts and feelings to herself most of the time - her distaste, longing, uncertainty is wrapped away in her mind (we as the audience see those thoughts and feelings, but Reiji doesn’t). In order to keep herself from facing Reiji’s uglier tendencies, she’ll sometimes lock her emotions away (not all of them, but quite a few). Overall, it could be implied that Reiji’s influence is starting to take a hold of her internally and she can’t block it out or subdue it, and because it’s festering in her mind, it’s already in her subconscious; therefore, it’s “too late” for her to pray to God to help her. Reiji’s wormed himself into Yui’s mind and her faith in God cannot overpower that.

Unable to grasp that ‘nothingness,’ that eternal price—

The noun “nothingness” can connote to the state of being nothing, something that is non-existent, lack of being, unconsciousness or death and I think the latter is the main connotation for this noun within the context of the song and Reiji as a character. We know that Vampires within the DL universe crave death, and being killed is the ultimate way for someone to confess their ‘love’ - to die is something that all Vampires crave. This line, to me, could imply that Reiji longs for death, to have the misery end and finally rest for eternity; we know from following Kanato’s route that he [Kanato] is jealous of humans since we can die quite easily whereas he cannot - he can’t grasp that “nothingness” that is death - and I think this can apply here. It can not only be implied that Reiji wants to - in some capacity - die, but that he’s almost chastising Yui for the fact that she can reach death easier than him. The dash (or hyphen) at the end of this sentence poses the inference that he’s being ‘cut off’ or ‘cut short’, not by his brothers or Yui, but by himself; he’s purposely cutting his sentence short and I think this links back to his internal struggle of opening up and lowering his front. Throughout Reiji’s route, his character has always been to-and-fro with his emotions - he’s reserved yet malicious - however, I think this line in particular allows us to see into his head more and could even pose the theory that Reiji’s suffering from depression just like his brother(s). Neglect, abuse, perfectionism, paranoia (of being ‘outed’ for his feelings and of Yui leaving him - this is seen throughout Cordelia’s interference), they all add up one on top of another and paired with his need to impress his father and prove his worth, it all culminates to him possibly wanting to be the “nothing” that he feels - that his childhood made him feel -. He’s giving us insight into his mind yet at the same time, it could be implied that he’s scolding Yui for how easily she can die and fade into that “nothingness” yet he is unable to do so himself.

Aah, the punishment you dreamed of (Why did I see it?) This spiral labyrinth is (never-ending) In conclusion, unless I suck you dry, the rules of logic won’t survive

Linking back to the previous line, the “punishment” Reiji’s mentioning could be death. Again, this is a story from Reiji’s point of view and we know for a fact that he implements his own views and beliefs onto Yui; it would be no different how he would force his views of death onto her too. Consequently, it could then be implied that he also believes Yui to crave death as much as he does - which would then make sense as to why he says “the punishment you dreamed of”. As the audience, we know that Yui doesn’t want to die, but Reiji can’t accept that and instead views it as her denying her ‘true feelings’ - he needs to have that corrupt control over her mind in order to relax around her -.

Ironically, the very word “labyrinth” is often used to illustrate confusion and complexity. As such, the symbol of the labyrinth can represent an enigma, a puzzle and confusion. Some view the labyrinth as a metaphor for a spiritual journey, with the entrance representing birth and the centre symbolising God, knowing or enlightenment. Getting to the centre requires a long, arduous journey of growth. First of all, the spiral is a symbol of change, as all things in this world must change over time. Nothing can live and be stagnant, and as scary as change is, it is also wonderful, because that means that everyday we have a new chance, a new choice, to change ourselves. I think this overall line is Reiji speaking out about his subconscious, he as a person is constantly changing and conflicting with himself - and this is mainly brought about by Yui -. He’s trapped pondering the same path and as he walks on, he delves deeper into his own psyche; however, this “spiral labyrinth” is “never-ending” because he can’t come to terms with who he is - who he is underneath his trauma, his privileges, his race and status - because, in my interpretation, that person is something Reiji would see as weak and powerless, which is the same thing he loathes in Yui - which brings us back to the interpretation that in some ways, Yui subconsciously represents Reiji’s inner self, and his childhood. Due to Yui possibly representing these things, the spiral never ends because Yui’s representation is something Reiji wants to run away from, but no one can run from their past, and until he learns to accept the better things about himself and the things he’s done out of spite and hatred, he can never fully leave that labyrinth.

The third line links more to what we see during the route, which is him biting Yui. However, in this subliminal context, this line could be implied to implement the power dynamic - and the importance of said dynamic -. Overall, this phrase basically states that if Reiji doesn’t drink Yui’s blood, then logic won’t survive; this could imply that Reiji has to drink from Yui in order to continue the power dynamic between them, he needs to be the one in control, the predator, and Yui needs to stay in the position of weak prey. By furthering this interpretation, it could imply that in regards to their races, predator and prey is the only logical dynamic to establish and for that to be disturbed would imply that logic no longer exists; it would mean that Yui has the upper hand, and not Reiji, he would no longer hold the control he desires. If we compare this interpretation to the Manservant Ending, we see that power dynamic flip. Instead of Reiji instigating the blood sucking, this time it’s Yui - she’s in control and she does as she pleases, he can’t drink the amount he wants (he can’t suck her dry) - and therefore, all logic has disappeared, the prey has become the predator and logic has died, Reiji’s control has died, and his self-worth has died.

Following Reiji’s route, we quickly learn that Reiji is a man who values intelligent and logic - his intellect fuels his self-esteem - and unless he has Yui at his mercy (with the threat of draining all her blood) the logic of the Vampire/Human dynamic won’t survive, it’ll die along with his frail ego.

“Kukuku…Or rather, would you like to die right now?”

This piece of dialogue links to the previous ones we’ve seen throughout the song; it’s a string of dialogue weaved into the story, a cross between Reiji’s ‘fantasy’ and reality. He’s told Yui that she can never escape and now he’s giving her the ‘option’ of dying - in reality, there is no option, it’s reverse psychology of giving her the choice of doing something that he knows she would protest against (that being death). It acts as Reiji essentially keeping Yui under his control.

Additionally, the fact that Reiji laughs when saying this could imply that he doesn’t take Yui seriously enough to consider her a threat; furthermore, it could be implied that he’s choosing to mock her in her time of distress - Yui wants to leave but she can’t and Reiji’s taking this opportunity to laugh at her misfortune.

In a storm driven mad with desire, my mind calms, all thoughts cut off Like a vanishing rose, cutting across my mind

When you think about a storm, you probably don’t have many pleasant meanings to connect to it. It’s a symbol of chaos, negativity, trauma, difficulty, weakness, and even depression. Storm symbolism also signifies change and transition since storms are only temporary. However, in literature, storms play a completely different role. They’re used as elements of foreshadowing, which is the act of predicting the future in the story. It’s a very frequently used symbol that can be used in almost any setting. Normally, it predicts something unpleasant, tragic, or even scary.

The storm itself could be implied to represent Reiji’s inner turmoil; how by focusing on that one specific thing can in fact calm him, his mind is steady - it could be interpreted as ‘ordered chaos’, which refers to a complex situation or process that appears chaotic while still having enough order to achieve progress or goals. The idea of “organised chaos” is more than saying you know where everything is in your messy bedroom or office, even if no one else can make sense of it. It’s also the idea of a looser set of rules and giving yourself a little more freedom to find your own success. it can be inferred that the “storm” is Reiji’s subconscious, or at least his mental state, yet his mind is able to be calm due to him being able to navigate that chaos - it’s something only he can understand, both giving him the satisfaction of surpassing everyone else’s psychological skills but also the satisfaction of being able to hide the mess that is his mind so well.

The last line of this phrase could be implied to mean that Reiji’s mind has become blank, his usual thoughts of resentment and jealousy have ceased, they’ve vanished and so, his mind has become blank. Additionally, ‘blank’ can have connotations of calmness - since the mind has become devoid of thoughts and emotions, it becomes oddly calm in its emptiness. Here we also see the noun “rose” make another appearance, however, roses not only symbolise love and purity, but it also has other connotations too. In the Middle Ages, roses were hung from the ceilings of meeting rooms; it was understood that everyone under the roses was sworn to secrecy. With this in mind, it could be implied that the noun “rose” symbolises secrecy, Reiji’s desires and detriments are to remain a secret - a secret that he and Yui will later share but a ‘secret’ nonetheless -. However, the notion that the rose is “vanishing” could imply that his unchecked mind is starting to dissipate; the thoughts that haunt him so much are ‘disappearing’ from his conscious mind. However, the verb “cutting” gives off the interpretation that his vanishing thoughts are quite abrupt, as though Reiji’s trying to forcefully forget the chaos in his brain - implying that Reiji’s trying to forget his turmoil in order to calm his mind.

This memory is our family’s fate A damned soul, never again to…

Memory can often connote to both remembrance and forgetfulness however, it can be interpreted that “memory” relates to the previous line, of Reiji trying to forget his tribulations. Each person that holds a substantial relationship with Karlheinz is dealt with nothing but despair - whether that relationship is founded from genetics or courtship is of no relevance, as each person is given their own cruel hand by “fate” -. Therefore, it’s possible to assume that Reiji’s memories of pain is shared throughout the family; each brother is wallowing in their own trauma, yet they cannot talk about it or cope in a healthy way, they each let their emotions fester and try to forget their memories, and because that mechanism of trauma is passed through the family, it has therefore become their “fate”.

Here we also see the repetition of the line “A damned soul, never again to…”. The adjective “damned” can have connotations of being condemned or doomed, especially to eternal punishment - which is quite similar to how the brothers view their long-lasting lives. With this in mind, we can again imply that Reiji is ‘doomed’ to suffer the consequences of ‘fate’s’ cruel hand; he can never again revert to the past, before his trauma was dealt to him, and that is his family’s fate.

“…─I will never let you go”

Once more, we are presented with Reiji’s dialogue, however, this phrase has both sorrowful and threatening connotations. The phrase “…─I will never let you go” has obvious menacing implications, since Reiji’s holding Yui hostage in this overall situation - if Yui tries to leave, then he’ll punish her, or he’ll kill her. This threat enables Reiji to carry on implementing his control over Yui and bending her to his will - breaking her in the process -. Conversely, this threat can also possess quite sorrowful and forlorn connotations. Following Reiji’s route, it can be implied that Yui’s inadvertently and subconsciously helping Reiji come to terms with the type of person he is; without Yui, his bitterness will only fester to a higher capacity, and his abuse tactics and sadism will only grow - thus, it could be implied that Reiji can’t let Yui go because of this, and when you think about it that way, it’s quite melancholic.

“Kukuku… You should understand by now, right?”

“It is your fate to continue to have your blood sucked by me.”

Reiji yet again insults Yui’s intelligence by condescending to her that she should be able to understand the situation she’s in, and how it’s her “fate”. Throughout the entirety of Reiji’s route, his use of language towards Yui is typically demeaning, and here is no exception.

The noun “blood” can have many different connotations and symbolisms, one of which is that it represents life - this is mainly derived from the fact that blood is the very substance that flows through our veins in order to keep us alive; with this connotation, it could be implied that Yui’s “fate” is to have her life drained by Reiji for his own satisfaction. However, blood can also be seen as something that’s a person’s ‘essence’. If there’s something that is so core to your sense of identity or your beliefs, you could say that “it’s in my blood”. This interpretation could imply that Reiji intends to finish ‘training’ Yui until every last part of her has been taken away, her ‘core’ has been “sucked” out by Reiji in his attempts to perfect her - all her aspirations, hope, pain and suffering have been removed by Reiji, as blood can also connotate to pain and suffering; something that can be implied to be Reiji’s fate - his fate is to suffer, and he will inflict that same punishment upon Yui, since her fate is to become broken and damned along with him.

“…─This prediction is absolute.” “……So, wake up…”

Firstly, the line “This prediction is absolute.” could imply that both Reiji and Yui’s fates are “absolute”, they’re established and universally decided upon that this is the path they must both follow. The noun “prediction” carries connotations of both science and philosophy. The first comes from the fact that during an experiment, predictions are made in relation to the outcome - the experiment at hand however, can range from physical chemicals to the inside of someone’s mind. Additionally, “prediction” can also connote to something being prophesied. The inference that I’m trying to make, is that both connotations are linked; though this insinuation is mainly derived from More Blood and Dark Fate due to us learning more about Karlheinz and how he’s monopolised his bloodline. Both Reiji and Yui’s fates have already been decided due to Karlheinz effectively using his sons as ‘experiments’ - therefore, the life that Reiji and Yui are to live, has already been prophesied and predicted; thus, it is “absolute”.

The phrase “wake up” is honestly quite a strange line to include in this song however, it could imply that Yui needs to wake up from the dainty person she was, and accept her fate - a ‘wake up’ call if you will -. Conversely, it also reminds me of a darker theme within dreams, that to ‘die’ (in a dream) is to “wake up”; with that in mind, it could infer that Yui’s past self needs to ‘die’ in order for her to “wake up” and accept who she is now, who she is presently while being under Reiji’s control. No longer is Yui pure and untainted, and so from Reiji’s perspective, she needs to “wake up” from that ‘act’.

“Awaken and become a part of our family.” “In the darkness, unable to see anything, with you…” “…─I want to feel it!”

Following my interpretation that Yui needs to let her past self die in order to “wake up” could link to this section here, and it could imply that Reiji believes that Yui needs to let herself go, let her religion, beliefs and self-worth diminish and die in order for her ‘true’ self to “awaken” - let Reiji remould her to his desire and welcome her ‘retrained’ self into his arms.

We’re brought back to this imagery of darkness, and this imagery could link back to the “dense, black forest” we saw in the beginning, showing the song’s cyclical structure. Much like the beginning, the theme of darkness could infer that Reiji desires Yui to fall from her ‘heavenly grace’ and join him in his misery - “unable to see anything” but despair and longing -. Throughout Reiji’s route, it’s been made clear that Reiji wishes to shatter Yui as a person, and rebuild her to his design; therefore, Reiji wants Yui to fall into despair with him, so that he’s no longer alone in his turmoil. The last line of “…─I want to feel it!” could reinforce this implication, that Reiji wishes to have company in his damnation and he wants to know and feel that every part of Yui belongs to him - from her determination to her compassion, he wants to feel ‘loved’ by her, yet he wants to break her in that process so that she can never escape from his abuse.

A single enraged horn, able to thrust its way up to the heavens Like a chaotically blooming rose, it’s splattered across your face

Here the cyclicity of the song is made clear with the repetition of the chorus - it reinforces Reiji’s desire to corrupt Yui and drag her down to ‘Hell’ with him. Conversely, it may simply be the poetic voice (Reiji) attempting to reiterate a certain point, reflecting the continuing nature of time, entrapment through repetition and re-living events - re-living Yui’s downfall and her entrapment in Reiji’s cruel schemes.

This deep crimson curse is our family’s fate A damned soul, never again to… A damned soul, never again to…

Again, this section is repeated, implying that it’s significant, that Reiji’s “fate” and turmoil is significant - and it is, it’s significant to Karlheinz. Each brother’s fate is significant in one way or another as it all ties into Karlheinz’s ‘plan’, their fates have been preordained; therefore, they’re all “damned souls”, they have been from the beginning and Yui is no exception to this, and I think Reiji knows this. The last line is repeated twice, and contains the same wording and grammar; this gives the impression that the ending is inevitable and nothing can be done to stop it. The sense of repetition created through this element of the structure also creates a sense of hopelessness, reflecting the lack of choices that Yui has in this position and how Reiji will inevitable dictate her entire existence.

“…─Have you understood? Very well, in that case, become mine for all eternity.”

This first line is in fact a rhetoric, Reiji’s not asking a genuine question to Yui, he’s establishing their power dynamic and that she should already know to obey his every whim. He’s patronising her intelligence just like how he does throughout his route - it infers that overall, nothing has changed and Yui is still hopeless and Reiji is still bitter and resentful towards others and towards himself.

The very last line however, displays that even though Reiji is as heinous as they come, he still wishes for Yui’s company while he waits for his “fate” to consume him. The pronoun “mine” shows Reiji’s possessiveness and how he wants Yui’s compassion to himself - implying that she gives him the comfort and ‘love’ he’s so desperately wanted throughout his life. He’s dragged Yui down into the pits of despair and she’s had no choice in whether she wanted that or not, that is her “fate”. Though Reiji’s bitterness may not have changed, and his abuse may not have corroded, this line implies that he wishes to have Yui’s company throughout his misery; to not be completely alone.

To conclude, this song is overall, quite sad and it gives us insight into Reiji’s mind; how he wants to corrupt Yui for his own gain, yet he doesn’t want to lose her company because he doesn’t want to be alone. The song doesn’t justify any of Reiji’s actions towards Yui - instead it shows how cruel he can be - but it also shows just how alone he feels, and by the end of this story’s analysis, the overall feeling that comes to mind, is pity.
