there are two instances of liu xiao breaking the fourth wall/getting special treatment that i remember: his PV, where he interacts with the viewer ("shh, the film is about to start") + "holds" his name, and the OP, where the credits got colored in red to spell out his name (also not 4th wall breaking but it's worth mentioning the "DON'T TRUST HIM" in morse code right behind him lol)
i've been seeing people guess that he's actually interacting with us in some way, maybe in relation to his power, but i've always doubted this opinion because link click doesn't seem the type of show to do actual 4th wall breaking. but it is true that these little things are intentional and suspicious, i just think we're missing the why.
however ☝️ everyone's been pointing out a lot of continuity errors in these past three episodes. from xia fei's elevator to even cheng xiaoshi's eyes to the background of the photo studio in ep 1, and more. and they all could be genuine mistakes, but it's also hard to believe a time travel show has This many continuity mistakes. many have also brought up that this feels like different timelines getting stitched together, and then my mind reminded me of All That about liu xiao and the 4th wall, and it made me wonder if it could be connected. i don't know how to word it, but maybe something about the yingdu chapter (as in what we see) being some kind of attempt at merging/fixing the timelines from liu xiao? or definitely something about his (true) superpower being a really huge kind of manipulation, so much so that even us - the viewers, are getting manipulated by the editing of the show itself
