Heyo, I'm new to the whole redhood/ Jason Todd thing but I was wondering, I've seen this being brought up quite a lot, where was it stated that Jason was a fan of classical literature/him being a theatre kid? I haven't read a lot of his comics/runs yet so I'm a bit lost
oh if you're new then you can still run. save yourself.
to answer your question though, off the top of my head:
in the annual 12 (1988) jason briefly muses on how he would like to join the drama club but he cannot do so because of his responsibilities as robin.
in the utrh itself there's a theme of jason sending books to the manor as a reference to a hobby he used to share with alfred – collecting the first editions.
annual 25 (2006) and the lost days have some references to (as narrated by jason) frankenstein and also (a visual one) to hamlet.
later on, in batman and robin (2009, an issue written by winick, so it's probably around #23-#25) there's the (in)famous panel with red haired jason reading pride and prejudice.
there's also the red hood and the outlaws (2016) #20 panel by dexter soy in which jay's in the full red hood attire, holding a book. this one still makes rounds when fans talk about jason's presumed love for literature, but in all honesty (as far as i remember) lobdell does not really write it into any stories.
this is not the main timeline, but in the arkham knight: genesis comics he gets extremely excited about the library.
apart from that it's mostly just some stray literature references, but not a whole lot of them. and wfa picked up on it too from what i know.
#it's not a consistent thing anyway but it's brought up by winick quite a lot. one good thing the man did i guess#i just wrote it up in 5 minutes and i'm too lazy to look up if i'm right about the specific issues so feel free to fact check me#outbox#jay.zip
