I do of course enjoy that Cas got another WEIRD girlbestie in Kelly but their relationship is. Fucked. It's LESS real than dagonkelly. They're literally co-cultists who have been brainwashed. That's it that's the whole relationship. What would they be without Jack's mind control. Nothing.
Castiel’s only reassurance to Kelly - who IS going to die in childbirth - is "Remember :) Paradise :)". And that Paradise factually does not happen. Cas doesn't feel anything about this. In the "my guilt proves my love" show.
The only things he can tell Jack about her are that she was "good" and "human" and "loved you". He didn't even know she was a horse girl! What did they possibly have to talk about other than the impending baby that wouldn't end in a screaming match or cold silence. Kelly "yes it's normal for the president to ask us for a prayer" doesn't seem interested in having her views about her faith questioned. Castiel "killed a room full of republicans the moment he had the chance" isn't interested in hearing her politics. Sam and Dean would be a sore point since they want to plan a) remove Jack's powers which they are both (mind controlled) against or plan b) kill Jack, so Cas’s past is off the table. And he clearly didn't learn about her life or he'd tell Jack literally anything real about her so that's off the table too. What are they.
"But Kermie," you might argue, "isn't his relationship with Meg equally flimsy? Your beloved megstiel?" No. It is still flimsy but it has got a little more going on. Meg CHOSE to stick by him during the honey!cas arc, Cas describes what he likes about her specifically ("all that thorny beauty"), Meg describes what she likes about him specifically ("You're a little bad" - side note the dialogue of that megstiel scene is ATROCIOUS), and Castiel uses the name she gave him as his first human alias (Clarence). Also Rachel Miner sells it so hard.
