#you can say what you want about Peaky Blinders but they have some of the best written dialogue#it's like if absurdist theater had a plot#it's like Samuel Becket if his characters had to actually arrive at some kind of conclusion#these characters dance circles and circles and circles around each other. I love it so much#every time Alfie opens his mouth I'm filled with a childlike awe. for minutes#how the fuck do you even approach writing that kind of dialogue. truly fucking inspired#(I know how to write dialogue like that. And I love it)#not exclusively obviously; some parts of this show are also the worst fucking sentences I've seen on TV#there will per season be consistently one or two line readings that are just so fucking bad. Who thought that was gonna work#still a very good quota for a show though#and they get a lot of bonus points for having complicated characters#and a million more bonus points for having Cillian Murphy look absolutely stunning while committing acts of extreme violence#there's few things more I could want from a show. If I could I'd just purr like a happy cat because I'm so content with this entertainment#keep absolutely wrecking characters beyond repair. It's nice
